So this was a stop on our LA Bakery walk and it's such a pretty building. The owner was super nice and told us the reason he opened up this place and how his bagels are made. We got a sample of the sesame bagel with wasabi cream cheese and persian cucumbers with salmon. It was very delightful! Bagel was chewy and doughy and it was by far my favorite. I also bought a jalapeno cheddar bagel that I had for breakfast today and it was still soft. It was soo good. I'm bummed I only bought 1. If you are in the area, it's worth it!

Amazing. Friendly staff, quick service. All the reviews are accurate! Definitely best bagel on the East side. Only complaint is the coffee situation, they do not have an espresso machine and the drip coffee is mid at best. Came here for the bagel not the coffee so 5 stars for sure!

Amidst flourishing bagel places in town, not sure how we haven't heard of Maury's until very recently. I was pleased by the fact that this place has decent crowd yet I didn't need to queue for an hour just to get my hands on my bagel LOL (you know what I mean). Their servers were all super passionate and cheerful as well, just making us feel well treated. They had plenty of bagel choices from the usual plain, sesame, everything, jalapeno cheddar, up to more interesting one like za'atar. We got The Mori, serving very peculiar wasabi tobiko roe cream cheese with smoked salmon, feeling like enjoying luscious sushi mix on a bagel! We also tried their vegan cashew spread on everything bagel just out of curiosity. Somehow tasted more like greek yogurt to me, which I might fancy if mixed with other toppings rather than on its own. My favorite was surprisingly the sweet one, blueberry cream cheese, which turned out being perfect sweet and slightly tangy combo served generously. Not to mention, the everything bagel was soooo good with slightly crispy edge yet very moist and fluffy center!

Wow, best bagel spot I've had yet. Staff are so sweet and welcoming, bagel orders come out fairly quick. They have a handful of tables outside to dine there but many do take their order to-go. The surrounding neighborhood is so lucky to have this spot, I'm jealous. Need to come back soon! Kippered Salmon Bagel -opted for Jalapeño Cheddar bagel which was an additional $1 charge, worth. The crisp of the cheddar added just a touch of extra texture that I loved. Salmon was moist and flaky, almost buttery. Whitefish Bagel -tasted like cod, unsure but it was amazing. Everything Bagel paired well with this. Sooo good.

A super cute bagel spot in east LA. I went on a Saturday morning, and there was a short line but not nearly as overhwleming as some of the other bagel spots in LA, which I appreciated. The pastrami lox was really tasty and a clever twist on a classic brunch item. The bagels were good but nothing outstanding. An unexpected favorite was the banana bread though!

Grabbed some bagels! Staff was friendly and offered suggestions. We already knew what we wanted but it was good to try something new. I got the lox bagel while everyone else got custom bagels with cream cheese. The lox was fresh and tasty with the great dill tang. I could have dialed down the cream cheese a little. Parking can be a pain in Silverlake but you can get lucky with street parking! Some seats available outside.

No. 8 on salt bagel with scallion cream cheese

I've tried many bagel spots in LA and I always come back to this one! No frills, just a simple honest bagel. I usually get the salt bagel with scallion cream cheese, the No. 8 if I'm feeling fancy (like today!). I like that they don't skimp on the cream cheese too, great bagel proportions. I also tried one of their juices today and it was pretty good! Nice and refreshing.

These bagels were the perfect texture- crispy yet soft and chewy. I enjoyed #8 which is the cream cheese, tomato, red onion, cucumbers, and capers. Their cream cheese tastes very tart and yogurt like. I also tried the pastrami lox and thought it was alright. The salmon tasted a bit too fishy for me. The workers are nice and the bagels come out fast. There's only outside seating, about 8 tables.

Bagles are amazing just got a garlic bagel with plain cream cheese and a cold brew, very quick service, grab and go worked easy to get my day started with a nice chew and amazing cream cheese bagel! Great place and great people. Cold brew is was tasty too!

Great corner bagel shop- it's small inside and has some outside tables/benches to eat on. I ordered the #8 which is cream cheese, tomato, dill, cucumber, red onion, & capers on an everything bagel. The everything bagel had lots of seeds on it & they put a good amount of cream cheese on. You order at the counter inside and pick up your order at the window outside. Great, quick breakfast stop in the morning. They are also dog friendly. Parking- street parking

Blueberry cream cheese on plain bagel

Ordered this for delivery on DoorDash but hope to visit in person soon. Loved the blueberry cream cheese on a plain bagel and the little chunks of blueberry skin in the spread. I'm usually a savory bagel person, but think I actually liked the blueberry more than the lox bagel here. Lox bagel was also delicious. Love that they go heavy on the spread here. High quality ingredients and the bagels had a nice soft chew but crunchy outside. Probably my favorite bagel in LA right now!

Whitefish Bagel and a lox bagel
    Micky N.

Great vibes and friendly staff, but the bagel left some things to be desired for me! I thought the whitefish salad was just okay, I prefer the ones at Belles in HLP. The lox was standard, but I felt like there wasn't enough balance with the ingredients inside the bagel. I wish there was more cucumber, onion, and capers and a little less cream cheese. The bagels itself were solid! A little inconsistent though. The onion bagel was a little stale meanwhile the everything was nice and chewy with the slightest crisp. I might give it another shot because it's so close to me and the prices are not too bad.

    Ask the Community - Maury's

Do the bagels come already toasted? Or do you have to ask?

    Assumed toasted

Why do the bagels start at $10?

A bagel with cream cheese is $3.50. Ten bucks is for the bagel and smoked salmon or the smoked whitefish salad (which I highly recommend!)

I think this place must fly their tomatoes in straight from Eden, as in the garden. I have never had a fresher, great tasting and beautiful tomato as I did here. I know that's wild to say about something like a tomato but it's the truth. I don't even eat tomatoes in that form, it was the first bite of a sliced tomato I ate in over 20 years. It looked so great I had to try it, especially because I wanted to eat the bagel in its most genuine form. My Wife loves bagels, it is one of her favorite foods. It was her favorite bagel as well. We ended up going here twice. We went on our last day of vacation prior to heading to the airport. I got a plain bagel with butter and honey, WhatKevEats inspired the order. I've had a sandwich here and while they are really really good, I personally feel it's better to just buy the bagel plain and the ingredients (or custom ingredients) and just make them yourself. It's not really that hard. I did that this time. I bought a bunch of bagels, then turned them into breakfast sandwiches. One thing that's random though is every time I'm craving a bagel, it just happens to be on the day they're closed haha. Then I have to remember that I wanted a bagel for the rest of the week and then go. But this time I did!!! I'm so glad I remembered because I absolutely love these bagels. The service here is really good. The ambiance is chill if you sit on the patio. It's nice. I don't usually turn my gps on when I come here though so sometimes I accidentally drive right by it because I miss the yellow umbrella. For some reason I can't remember exactly what street it's on but there's always a bunch of street parking so it's a nice place to go to. I should come here a lot more.

SALT BAGEL, EVERYTHING BAGEL, CACIO E PEPE, EVERYTHING PUMPERNICKEL BAGEL All of the untoasted bagels except the Cacio e Pepe, had a firm outer texture, a bit hard to tear apart with hands. Inside the bagels were dense, yet had a light chewy texture and not dry either. Toasted, they were even better. The outer crust was beautifully crispy and the inside bagel was soft and chewy. The beet cream cheese was delicious with all the bagels! Cacio e Pepe was soft all around, unlike the other bagels. Cacio e Pepe had a light cheese and black pepper crust. It wasn't full of cacio e pepe flavor right off the bat, but still enough to know what you're eating. If you ate only the top bagel, I think you'll get the best of this bagel. There were booths, counter seats and outdoor seats too. It was packed inside on a Wednesday lunch. Got there before noon. CUSTOMER SERVICE Overall good, friendly service. Staff was smiling and that's always a good thing! Went on a Wednesday before noon, but it was nearly packed. PARKING Horrible. Just horrible. Street parking only. There's a few spots directly in front of Belle's, but it's metered parking too and also it was full. It's parking that always makes or breaks your experience when driving to LA. After driving around to find a decent parking spot, I finally found one close to Belle's, but after parking, I realized it was a loading zone. So hurried to get my food to go and just ate in the car. Overall, I enjoyed the bagels here and would love to return for their bagels and lunch offerings.

We take our number and go sit and wait at the small blue tables outside like most everyone else. Strike one was their being out of fresh made orange juice, something that should NEVER happen at a bagel purveyor... oh, and my coffee? Was only technically that. Seriously. It tasted more like tea to the point that I questioned whether or not they in fact got my order wrong and it was that. Flavorless. (2/10) I like my salmon bagel and the ratios were pretty on point with there being maybe just a tad too much cream cheese. For $20, this was what I expected and I appreciated the quality olive oil drizzled over the quality ingredients to keep it all moist. Loved the tomato and capers. It's a big meal and half of it went home for later. (8/10) My date's bagel was a nightmare though. Thick wedge of cream cheese on a barely toasted bagel, she had to wipe half of it off just to eat it. And as for this being a "hatch cream cheese?" Like calling my brown water broth 'coffee,' I'd suggest that it only technically met up to the definition: there were 2-3 little chunks of hatch chile. Seriously. Two or three. The white cream cheese hardly had any smell or taste of hatch chile. I know as I ate the other half she took home. Dispel any fantasy you might be harboring of that cool, greenish cream cheese with real chunks of smoked hatch chiles because that doesn't exist here. (2/10) So there you have it. For close to $40 when you factor in tax and tip? This was barely a 3 star bagel experience. Order with care and intention.
