If Maverick Motors contacts you to request to purchase your car .. do not waste your time. They are dishonest and misleading. I had an ad on both CL and FB Marketplace for my Mercedes Benz roadster. A nice guy named Esteban contacted me and said that he was interested in buying it. After providing the VIN and asking many questions, I then learned that he was with a used car dealership called Maverick Motors in Lewisville, TX. He understood what my asking price was, I was very honest and thorough regarding my car's condition and he said that I should bring it in, as this is the type of car they like to buy. I was very clear how much $$ I wanted for it ($11K), and he assured me that if my vehicle was as described, I would get that amount or something very close to it. I said that I am not driving all the way to Lewisville to have them throw a low-ball offer at me. Esteban assured me that this will not happen. I came in on a rainy Saturday morning, after driving 30 minutes from Plano. They were super friendly, I met the owner or manager named Joel, as well as Esteban (the guy I spoke with on the phone) and Garrett (who would do the vehicle evaluation). They test-drove the car, tooks tons of photos, tested the hard-top convertible operation many times to ensure that it worked well, and did a thorough walk-around inspection. They confirmed that the car was great and that they definitely wanted to purchase the car. A this point, I am a 30-minute drive, and a 1-hour wait now into this .. then they bring me to an office where they offer me $6K. At that point I said "Keys Please?" They seemed quite surprised. I said "I need my keys, I'm leaving". They tried talking me out of leaving .. I got pretty angry and demanded my keys. I also said, "And my YELP review on this place is gonna practically write itself". They then brought one of their managers to the office to try to smooth things over. I explained the situation, and he offered to top-off my gas tank as a gesture to not have me leave so angry. I said no, "give me my keys .. I'm leaving". He tried a few times to get me to be "less unhappy" .. but really, it was too late at that point. He told me to wait by the entrance and he'd pull the car around to the front. This gave them time to get Joel (their manager) to come waltzing out to the front to try to make me less unhappy. They tried blaming it on Esteban being so new to their team, and perhaps they can improve their training to prevent "misunderstandings" like this again. Clearly, this appears to be their standard operating procedure, and they are simply dishonest. They had some pretty cool looking cars on their lot, but after today .. I would never, ever do business with them.

I was a bit hesitant selling to a dealer through the marketplace, but this was a great experience. They came out, examined the car. I wanted more but after looking at other cars online from dealers and private sellers, I decided that it was fair. They came back out, did the paperwork, and the wired money showed up in about two minutes in my account. I spent 25 years doing sales and Maverick was highly professional and didn't try to put anything over on me. Gotta say that this was the easiest and fastest car sale or purchase I've ever done.

    Happy customer with his purchase!

After two hours passed, I was told it wasn't ready and that they needed two more. Two hours later, I called again and was told it would take one more hour. After waiting a total of five hours, I finally picked up my car -- only to find it looked almost exactly the same as when I dropped it off, maybe even a bit worse. There were still fingerprints on the screen, hair in the cup holders, dust on the rear windows, and the engine bay hadn't been touched. I also noticed the engine was warm, and the mileage had gone down by about 10 miles, which is extremely concerning for a detailing service. On top of that, there was a new odd mark on the hood that wasn't there before. When I asked about a discount due to all of this, they declined and still charged me $200. I later followed up with a text and was just left on read, with no explanation or apology. Between the wasted time, questionable handling of my car, lack of professionalism, and poor results, I absolutely would not recommend this place.

This is going to be long, but if you're considering taking your vehicle here, you should read it…read more I'm being detailed because I genuinely hope it prevents someone else from going through what I did. Thankfully, I also work for many law firms that deal with car wrecks so they know where NOT to send their clients. I've taken my car to this shop for three separate accidents over the years. The first two were mostly body damage repairs and I had no major issues. The third accident, a front-end collision in September 2025, turned into an absolute nightmare. Between September 2025 and May 2026, I had to bring my car back FIVE separate times for the exact same unresolved issues. Eventually, I gave up and took my car elsewhere because Magic Touch still had not properly repaired it and almost caused my insurance company to total the vehicle until I canceled the claim to avoid that. The biggest issue involved my AC system. I repeatedly told them something was still wrong, but instead of actually finding the leak, they kept refilling the refrigerant and sending me on my way. Because of that negligence, my compressor eventually failed and the casing cracked -- despite the compressor only being a little over a year old. Out of those five return visits, they reimbursed my rental car twice after I complained about continuously paying out of pocket because I don't have another vehicle. One visit, they even handed me Visa gift cards after again failing to fix the issue. It honestly felt less like customer service and more like, "We're tired of dealing with you." I also have recordings from my last drop-off. In one, the owner, Brody, points at my car and asks, "What's up with that?" When another employee says, "The AC is having problems again," Brody responds, "Nah, f**k that," while complaining about my car being back again. Maybe if the issue had been fixed the first time, it wouldn't have kept coming back. Every time I returned, I was treated more like an inconvenience than a customer simply asking them to fix the same unresolved problem. Eventually, they had to involve the shop across the street because they couldn't figure it out themselves. One employee texted me the quote from that shop, then later sent me (after I asked the next day) another estimate that was literally DOUBLE what they had originally been told, because "if they denied it then they still had room to cover repairs" is what the text message from the shop said -- and that inflated estimate had already been sent to the insurance company. When the insurance company later contacted me to say they were considering totaling my car, I sent them all the text messages, recordings, and estimates I had received. The adjuster literally told me they were confused because insurance had ended up covering damage that the shop itself may have contributed to through negligence by failing to locate the leak when I originally reported it. The adjuster even used the words "insurance fraud" -- not me. At that point, I took my car elsewhere to a shop that has done major repairs for me before. I'm now paying around $3,400 out of pocket just to finally have my vehicle repaired correctly. To make things even worse, the new shop discovered that Magic Touch had replaced my radiator after the wreck and apparently NEVER added coolant. I brought my car there six total times, including immediately after the accident, and somehow nobody noticed the coolant reservoir was empty? That repair is now being added to my bill along with an expansion valve replacement. You can call me a liar if you want, but I have endless text messages, recordings, invoices, and documentation to back up every single thing I'm saying. The unfortunate reality is that they seem friendly until they no longer want to deal with your vehicle. Once that happens, you absolutely feel it. The ONLY reason this review is getting two stars instead of one is because the body work itself looked decent.

I went there for an estimate they were informative and very reasonable with their pricing. Also…read morewilling to work with my schedule, I highly recommend them.
