I was in town to pack up my sisters place after she died. I was taking donations to AmVets down the road and I noticed I had a leaky tire. I was due to drive back to Minnesota the next day. I stopped in and Angelo mentioned it would be about a 2 hr wait. After I pointed out my car he noticed the plate and I mentioned my sister just passed and I was in getting back on the road the next day. He asked me to have a seat. I was on my phone for roughly 10 minutes and he came in and told me the leak was plugged and it's ready to go. He offered me condolences and wished me a safe drive back home. Normally, I have a tire pump in my car but today I did not. The tire light came on in my Toyota forerunner and at about 60 miles an hour, the front end had a vibration. Since we've had a problem of people dropping out screws and nails near our office I thought maybe my tire needed to be plugged. I stopped at the local Mavis and the guys there were awesome. They inspected all four of my tires, found no punctures. I did have two low tires so they pumped them up at no charge. They said if it happens again then I can bring it back and I definitely would. It's always nice to have an honest tire shop in the neighborhood! read more

BEWARE: Mavis on Ridge Road in Lackawanna took 4 hours to do a scheduled inspection. Their mechanic took a "joy ride" in my Mustang and when he returned they then removed all the tires from my car and left them next to the car for 3-1/2 hours while they worked on other cars, had an employee meeting, and then went to lunch. I complained to the brand new manager Dillon who just walked in the door complaining about how he was just transferred to this location and after another 1/2 hour he said my car failed the inspection and handed me an estimate for a new battery and new brakes for $1,500. I refused. They scraped the old inspection sticker off my windshield and demanded i sign a waver before i was able to take the car. The Mustang is my "baby" and has never seen a winter - stored inside for 6 months of the year. I had new brakes installed at another shop who said they could pass inspection but were at the end of their life. I paid $150 for the new brakes and they did the inspection. I went to Mavis on Ridge Road in Lackawanna this morning and as soon as I got there the manager came out of the office and told all of the customers that were parked in the front parking area that we all had to move which is a designated parking lot. The snow was removed from the area so it wasn't that. This started it all, I placed my order the night before and was happy with the quoted amount. Upon going to the counter a young woman came in a tech came in and asked her if he could help because I was already standing there. The manager rudely told his employee, SHE is not NEXT and that he would take care of it after he got to me in a harsh tone, the worker then went into the shop not happy how he was spoken to. The manager who never acknowledge me while I was there no eye contact nothing. I offered the order number that I was told I have to give them which had the price I had agreed to and the manager said snarly to me, just give me your name I don't need that. He then proceeded to tell me that the order was wrong didn't have what I needed and when he told me the price which was approximately double what I was promised I said that not right. At that point I said I wasn't going to pay that and walked out. No explanation - If your having a bad day don't take it out on your customers. I called another Mavis and they resolved the problem. The young later said to me sorry I didn't know you were not waited on which I replied to her it wasn't her it was the manager fault and how he talked to his worker was wrong either for trying to help. read more

I am super impressed- I ran to the grocery store after work and when I pulled into my driveway, I heard a hissing as I was walking into the house. I realized it was my tire and there was a big screw in it. Mavis is pretty much on the corner of my street so I drove there and was greeted immediately as I walked in. Vinny and Andy were so friendly and Zach had my car on the lift within 2 minutes- 10 minutes later I was back in my car with a plugged tire. These guys are great- I recommend 100% read more

Made an appt for 8 am today days ago, got here at 8am. 10:30 am my car is just now getting worked on to get tires on. Mind you I was one of the first people here when they opened at 8am. My appt was at 8 am. And I've had to sit here for 2.5 hours with my 2 year old waiting for my car to even start getting worked on. There are several guys working back there and I was one of 2 people here and it took 2.5 hours to even start working on it. I am fuming. Do not recommend this place at all. read more

My son went to one of these locations and had new tires put on his new truck. When he left he was on thruway and something wasn't right, he got off thruway and as he drove into a parking lot his tire FELL OFF!!! Then yesterday I went and had tires put on rims, balanced and put on my truck. Was told it may "shake a little" I travel the 219 a lot. I was scared it was so bad, I thought my truck was going to fall apart. So today I take it to a family friends shop and come to find out they were not balanced correctly and both front tires lugs were loose! I could have lost a tire and had been injured badly. NEVER again. Lesson learned. If you value your life, do not go to any of their locations. read more

I brought my car in on Saturday for them to mount my splash guard back up, they acted like the didn't have the time of day to talk to me. I left my car over night they called me and asked if I wanted to do an inspection I told them yes. They called me when my car was ready, I came in waited for about ten minutes to get cashed out and get my key. I then go to my car to turn it on and I have 3 lights on my dash now and my rear camera is no longer working and then I confronted them about it, saying when I gave the car in there was no lights on and my camera was working. The guy says well it's and electrical problem, it was probably your fault and said there's nothing they can do. Save yourself the headache and don't go to this Mavis. They did something to my car and now I have to come out of pocket and they have horrible customer service read more

I'd say at any repair shop, this is the weirdest and most unsatisfied visit I've ever had. My car needed a simple alignment and some tires. No big deal. Scheduled my appointment, they checked my car out, took it in, and it was done in the 3 hour window like stated. When I got my car back, as soon as I hit the road, my alignment was worse than before and my steering wheel completely crooked! Did they really think I wouldn't notice? So I took it back, asked them to fix it, no one could give me a clear answer. Too much weight on a tire, calibration machine off, was there for nearly 6 hours over some tires and an alignment. So after all that time, and $688 spent, it still wasn't fixed. So I called the manger at 8am this morning, said he would help me get to a closer store to get the repairs done properly and he would give me a call back once he spoke with the other location. He seemed very helpful. NOPE. I ended up having to call that other location myself and speak to customer service. So not only did this location botch up my alignment, they also left me high and dry after I complained and they said they'd help fix the issue. Thankfully customer service helped me out. Unless you want to sit in a dirty store for 6 hours and spend money to have your car perform worse when they touch it, come here. Lost my business. read more

Made an appt 2 days in advance to purchase and put on my snow tires......After waiting 75+ min....I asked the mgr why I had to wait when I had made an appt.etc. He became 'unhinged' and said he was short help, it wasn't easy,etc......AND that he's a 'tire doctor' because our car's safety is in his/their hands. WHOA.......!!!!! Once my car is taken it I'm told my rims are wrong size,etc........Well, I left and went to DUNN TIRE/Hamburg and there's NOTHING wrong with my rims which is what I thought as I'd purchased them for MY SPECIFIC CAR/MODEL!!!! I came in for tires and a inspection and it ended up taking longer than I was told (about a hour longer) BUT this guy there Victor lowered my total cost because of this which shows how much they understand customer service. Dont bother, liars, incompetent and incapable of quality. I dont understand it how a place that specializes in tires and alignments cud fuck up so bad. In early sept 2017, we got 4 tires and alignment. Called to find out when to bring it in,told "oh,bring it in tomorrow,the guy here now is not so good at alignments". The next day, dropped car off and told not long to be done. Went home,figured 2 hours would be good. Went back, car not touched. Took 2 more hours. Started driving and its immediately pulling hard right. The guy thats not good at alignment must have done my car. So they lied and have incompetent employees and a liar on the phone. Took it back,for 2 more hours to correct the problem. Now its always a little pull to the right,im guessing camber is off. So,the tires,while not most expensive, are having problems holding air. They replaced the stems,which go into the tire pressure sensors. But im sure either they didnt teflon tape the stems, or dis sloppy bead seal. Must have got the shitty alignment guy did my tires.I WILL NEVER GO BACK. i could get better tire price and service at walmart. And alignments, im sore there are hetter places . whatever you do, do not take your car here. i paid over $500 for new tires on 12/12/13. by 1/12/14 i had a flat. brought it back in and was told by the manager that it wasnt sealed correctly when the tire was applied. cut to today, 1/24/14 and i have TWO MORE FLAT TIRES. i took it to Monroe and after inspecting it, was told by Monroe that NONE of the tires were sealed correctly, so i would keep getting leaks. oh and the tires weren't balanced. meaning they would wear and tear quicker. im sure Mavis did this to drum up new business. needless to say, do not go there. sure the tires are cheap but so is the service. read more

Horrible. Made an online appointment for my cousin to get tires at this location after being told the tires were in stock. Once she got there she was told the tires weren't in stock, that they don't go by the appointments made but that it was instead first come first served until the tires ran out, and that the prices online only applied to New York City. Needless to say we are taking the business elsewhere and will NEVER go back to this place or any of their other locations. I guess they can afford to watch $600 just walk out the door. I made two appointments to have two snow tires installed on my truck. Both appointments were made on the Mavis website (one for the Hamburg location and another for the Lackawanna location both at 4:00). I arrived in time for the appointment at Hamburg and was told that I made an appointment to have my tires checked, which wasn't true. The guy behind the counter said they couldn't install new tires until 6 o'clock, so I would have to sit around for two hours. I declined his offer. I made an appointment two days later at the Lackawanna location for the same service. I arrived a little late because the weather was awful. The guy behind the counter went to check with someone in the shop. He came back and told me I would have to make another appointment because they were done for the day. They have had four bays open and one of the other workers was sitting on a stool literally doing nothing. The closing time listed is at 6. Bottom line, it appears as if the Mavis workers don't want to work much past 4. Horrible service. No wonder there tires are so cheap. They don't spend much in training their workers in customer service. Don't bother getting service done at Mavis. Their cheap tire prices aren't worth it. read more

I don't usually do things like this but I am disgusted with Mavis on ridge road! Brought my car in for tires alignment and nys inspection. Roughly 15 minutes after drop off we recover a phone call stating my car failed inspection for brakes. I quote the man here " they are welded to the caliber and rotors one is separated from the caliber because it's metal on metal" they wanted almost $700 extra to fix it! So we said no we will do it ourselves. $350 at autozone for brakes and rotors all around we take the first set off and they are fine! This continued for all 4 brakes 50% life left on ALL brakes! So I take it back in yesterday for the inspection again and explain all of this to the guy at the counter who tells me "you didn't see the curve in the brakes?" Yes I saw the curve! Brakes are designed to have a curve! And it doe seven matter! Nys standards state the brakes must be metal on metal to fail inspection! Pick up my car today... Charged me a fee for redoing the inspection!!!!! Just because u thought u could convince a woman she needed work that was not needed at all doesn't mean u get to charge me again! The man on the phone said to bring it back once we did the brakes and they would get it inspected never once did he say there would be an additional fee! I don't know what kind of scam your pulling here but I will be telling everyone I know about this! Absolutely unacceptable! Only plus side was my tires were cheap and they changed them fast read more
