Can't believe how traditional the store is. Vacaville needed a Mexican market like this. I currently live in Dixon and even here we lacked a store like this. You wish a business to succeed and I wished that for the old viva market but it went down so fast. So seeing a store like this to where the food and the store as a whole is very tasty at a great price. I know waiting times can be a bit long but they are hauling butt in the kitchen trying to get the food ready. The team are very patient with questions but yet so friendly. I really like this place. Staff is always polite and courteous. Produce is fresh and reasonably priced. The meat section is clean and their meats have been fresh when I've purchased. So has the deli with the cheese, cream, and salsas. It's conveniently located and there's plenty of parking. My favorite dessert is their flan. The bread is ok for a supermarket. I was so excited to FINALLY visit this grocery store a few weeks ago. I actually went three days in a row to get different items because it was THAT good. The store is beautifully faced and appearance wise, they are top tier. HOWEVER, on one of my visits I bought two bags of dried chiles. One chile de arbol and one guajillo. Yesterday, seeing an unknown bug in my kitchen for the second time in a few days (which I googled and found out it was a 'drugstore beetle') I PANICKED after learning how these bugs infest dried food items if not sealed properly. I then THOROUGHLY cleaned out all my cabinets and could not find any source of the bugs anywhere in any of my other items. I almost gave up and chalked it up to maybe being from outside, until I finally thought to pull out the chiles I bought (which were luckily stored with items the bugs could not get into) and low and behold, one of the bags was absolutely INFESTED with these bugs. I'm so happy I caught it before I potentially lost my whole pantry of flour, rice and pasta. Highly recommend checking your dried items if purchased from here. So disappointing and I hope it was a one off but with these kinds of bugs, it likely isn't. read more

So glad this place is here. it looks very clean. they have the perfect green aguachile that I have been looking for. I was amazed with the presentation of their cheesecakes with fruit on top. My husband was excited with the bread selection. there's a place where u can order food here. My husband ordered the fish tacos and I got the shrimp taco. It was yummy but probably didn't need that much sauce on top. Maybe I will say sauce on the side next time. we can't wait to go back. I want to order lengua and tripe tacos. read more

Probably the worst shopping experience I have ever had. And I will gladly never be back. The cashier was so rude like you chose to be here LOL. She was at check stand 2 at 4:00PM on December 23, kept her name covered. She was also extremely rude to the woman in front of me. The kitchen was amazing though. At first, this was a great place! I had high hopes. We have gone to their taqueria 3 times now and 2 out of 3 they didn't provide avocado on the tacos. Which is advertised. A good market though. I love this little grocery store. The food in the deli is always delicious and quickly made up. The staff is very friendly, even if someone says don't speak much English. I've gotten food from the deli on several occasions, and it's always good. The other thing about the market is that the prices are amazing. The meat and deli and cakes and pastries are all to be tried. When you see that most of the population that shops here are Hispanic, then you know you're in a good spot! This place is amazing.. very clean and organized. They have almost every Mexican ingredient you're looking for plus more. In the back, there is pre marinaded meats you can throw on the grill - my favorite is the carne asada. Also they have a variety of salads you can buy which range from mild to spicy. My mom went and purchased 2 items that where on Sale, when she left the store she realized that she was charged for 3 items, she turned around to let the emplyee who rang her up know. The employee said she saw 3 and charged her correctly, my mom went to get the items, and when she returned the cashier had gone to the office to "review cameras" a man came out and told my mom she didnt get charged with anything, and that she was "making a big deal for nothing" my father then came in and told him, they would not lie about being overcharged" the man then proceeded to mock my parents, and told my dad "you better calm your wife" and looked at my mom and told her " calm down", proceeded to tell the cashier" give the lady her money back, and throw some extra at her". My mom told them, that they could've at least apologized for the inconvenience, where the man decided to mock my mom, laugh and say here.. here sorry, sorry. Is that better? My mom got her money back after going through with that humiliation. I know Mayas market is thriving, but this is no way in treating customers, we all have been very supportive of them and love this store, as why this is so sad, to see them act like this. Market is always clean and well stocked. Produce dept is excellent however the checkers are rude and don't even say hello, thank you or even make eye contact. To me that's just as important as a clean store. When management is there and they are walking around they are always very nice and approachable. Tried the burrito stand inside the store. My supreme burrito had zero sour cream, salsa, gauc, just 95% rice and beans. Never again.

The food is made fresh and the bakery smells great. It is well lit and clean and the isle are wide. My MIL loved the fast she could find her El Salvadoran foods/spices. read more

Finally, I was able to taste the a couple of tacos at Taqueria inside Maya. I ordered 3 tacos, 1 Al Pastor and 1 Asada and a Chile Relleno. Out of the tacos I really liked the Al Pastor taco over the Asada taco. I think I found my spot for Al Pastor! It was not over cooked and tender with the marinade present. The Asada on the other hand was plain and overcooked. I couldn't taste any marinade if it was. I know from experience some places marinate their Asada but you can taste the marinade but not Maya. It tasted like it wasn't seasoned or marinaded. A little disappointing IMO. Their Chile Relleno was good but thought the sauce would be a chunky ranchero sauce or simply but it was a red sauce of some kind. The most disparate of it all was over took and made my orders didn't include my tacos when I got home so we went back to get the tacos and they didn't offer any incentive to make up for it. Service over all was ok. The food was good and will be back to try other meat tacos and other items thst might interest me. read more

I absolutely love this store. I live in Suisun City and we do have a few good Hispanic markets that can offer the same variety of goods we love however, this store in particular is my favorite! They have everything and anything and it's always so clean and welcoming! The nachos & steak fries is chefs kiss! The meat selection is great and the flavored meats are really good. The different salsas and stuff next to the meat counter are really good .The issue is the burritos are now flavorless and the size varies a lot depending on who's making them. I want what's on the picture and I want it to taste how it looks. The only meat with any flavor is the pastor which is good but you can only eat so much pastor. If you order just beans,cheese,and rice burrito for a picky eater you can't eat it. There's just way too much cheese. When the place opened it was really good but has since gone down hill. Don't know if it has new management or what the issue is but they definitely need to have a team meeting and address these issues. read more

The meat department has everything you could want competitive and better prices than other stores. Love this market! Beautifully cared for, everything is super clean & faced, love the vibrant colors everywhere. Pros are the cleanliness, selection of ingredients especially spices, & fresh bakery & taqueria on the premises. The only cons I have are the menu for the taqueria are on tv screens that are constantly changing so you can't really see everything they have to offer & there is a tiny QR code for the menu but it's right at the register which doesn't make sense bc if you don't know what you want you will take forever at the front of the line trying to order which obviously sucks for the rest of the line. They should post a solid menu for everyone to see and a big QR code near the end of the line so ppl can scan it before getting in line. Also their horchata doesn't taste very good & when I tried to order a breakfast burrito with carne asada they said they only allow ham, bacon or chorizo in the breakfast burrito. I think that's pretty weird that you can't choose the meat you want but ‍ Their conchas aren't that tasty either but that could be personal preference. Otherwise I'll be back here to shop. read more

This is by far the best Mexican grocery store, deli, bakery in town. It's clean, has decent prices, great sales, the cakes and pan dulce are delicious! I tried the hot plates for the first time last weekend my husband and I both shared one plate of carnitas. It was plenty for both of us. It was authentic and delicious. Great store!! Very Very Clean!! Great selection (they had items I have never seen but look amazing such as "La Finca" Masa/lb) and reasonably cheaper prices compared to many other tiendas/ markets!! The food is Pretty Good( my daughter is in love with their tamales) and the prices of meat are cheaper by $1/lb in most spots. Very Pleasant shopping experience and a nice addition to the area!! I am giving a 2 solely based on our historical experience, but after tonight we will not be regular customers anymore. We go every week and order tamales and food from the taqueria. Tonight, went around 6, they were out of rice and beans. Odd, but no problem - grabbed some tacos, our usual tamales and asada fries. Got home (a 3 minute drive) and the normally steaming tamales were ice cold, could tell they have been that way for awhile. Even worse, I found a black hair (with a root ball to boot) after we ate a couple of fries. read more

What a treat! We've been visiting Maya since they opened. Being a Vacaville lifer, Food Fair was a town favorite and staple. This is Food Fair 2.0. They did a great job renovating the building and the quality of their products is very high. From the Taqueria to the meat counter and produce - everything has been very clean, organized, and stocked! Everyone working has been very nice and accommodating and it's really nice to have such a well done market down the street.
