We had contacted a local company and, while the quote and scope seemed adequate, the plan for condenser placement was not great and I had sticker shock. So I went to YELP and found JL Martin. I am so glad I did! Jared toured the home, and came up with a great plan for a new system and was able to come in around 3K less that the previous company. I appreciated the 'out of box' thinking! This included working with the city permit process as well. The biggest hold up was actually the city acknowledging and passing the plan. Once that happened the JL Martin team scheduled quickly and the install was completed in under a day. The install team was incredibly respectful, explained everything that they were doing, and took great pains to be as unobtrusive as possible. They gave me the guidance on what to expect with the state inspection and city, made sure I understood what the filter requirements would be in the future and the city signed off within 10 days of install. I could not have asked for a better experience! They really work with you and everyone, from installer to office staff to upper management were amazing, responsive and helpful. At the time they also wanted to do my furnace I told them no which my furnace was still good for another couple years and then they came back changed a part on it saving me a little money but the. It went out so I had to shell up the big bucks for it. The value here I do think is better than other places but I wish they would work on the upsell a little bit because times are tough and we don't need that but I do trust this company for things I do need.

Our first big house renovation project was a huge success because of Irvine A/C and Refrigeration…read more Out of the 4 HVAC companies we got bids from, we decided to go with Irvine A/C. This is primarily due to Stanley's professionalism, clear explanation and being able to meet our timeline. Once the projected started, Stanley and his crew (Tim and Stan) arrived promptly and installed the new ducting system in a timely manner. They left the house in the same condition it was in before beginning the install. We passed the HERS testing and got city permitting done. Stanley took care of both for us. The new ducting install took a day or two to complete. We waited a few days for the HERS testing and city inspector. Stanley and crew came back two weeks later to install the boot covers once we finished adding new dry wall and paint. Throughout the whole process, Stanley and Mike were in constant communication with us. They always replied promptly to our email, text and phone calls. Our Air Conditioner unit went out. Our thermostat seemed to be working fine, the outsoor unit was…read morefune and no fuses were tripped, and the Zonefirst splitter seemed to receiving the command fine. It was a confusing situation. We called a first expert, who told us there was an issue with our Carrier system, and since he's not familiar with this particular thermostat, he couldn't help us. We then called Honorable Air. We called and described the issue, letting the recipient know we needed someone familiar with Carrier systems, and gave them the make/model of our system. They informed us that someone would come out and help us on Monday between 9-12 AM. Jeremy came and helped us out. It turned out to be a condenser pan filled with water. He helped us drain the water and troubleshoot the source, and it only cost us $230 for an hour if time and some minimal labor. Very satisfied with his help!

Had an air conditioner that stopped working so needed some diagnostics and repair…read more Benjamin was able to come out early the next morning to meet my schedule and did a thorough diagnostic. What I thought was maybe only a capacitor turned out to be a blown fuse in the attic and a broken contactor. Capacitor was working but had a low reading so got all 3 replaced in one swoop. Work was done quickly and at every step Benjamin went out of his way to test everything to make sure it was working as well as explain to me what he was doing and why he was doing it. Benjamin is a good guy, didn't try to sell me on replacing a unit, and offered a good service at a reasonable price. If you're in need of a good HVAC technician, Benjamin is your guy.
