DO NOT USE MAYZLIN RELOCATION - Worst Moving Experience of Our Lives We hired Mayzlin Relocation for a long-distance move, and it was the most stressful, dishonest, and damaging experience we've ever had with any company. Our items were picked up July 5 and not delivered until August 1--well beyond the promised 1-7 business day delivery window from our first available date of July 11. We spent the first month in our new apartment without our belongings without any update or clear communication on when they would be delivered, despite being assured by our sales rep that wouldn't happen. In fact, every answer provided by the sale rep to the questions we asked during the quote/sales call proved to be untrue, and he was unresponsive once we paid our deposit despite his promise of being "available to us every step of the way." We received zero proactive updates, only vague, repetitive excuses from customer service when they did decide to response. When we tried escalating, we were either ignored or told our concerns would be "passed to dispatch," with no resolution. When our belongings finally arrived, most of the boxes were severely damaged, crushed, or completely broken open. A number of items inside were destroyed, and multiple pieces of furniture were scratched, broken, or rendered unusable. We are now forced to file claims for the damage, but based on others' experiences, we're not optimistic we'll be compensated fairly--or at all. Unfortunately, it's clear that our situation is not an isolated incident. After our experience, we discovered hundreds of reviews from other customers describing the exact same treatment: long delays, false promises, poor communication, and severely damaged goods. This company should not be allowed to operate in the moving industry. We are filing formal complaints with the BBB, FMCSA, and our state's transportation authority. Review of Mayzlin Relocation - Buyer Beware I've moved cross-country four times, and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I'm writing this review to hopefully save someone else the anguish we've dealt with. We booked Mayzlin about a month before our move from Texas to Florida. We gave the sales rep our closing date of August 22nd, and he suggested scheduling pickup for August 14-15. The movers (contractors, not Mayzlin employees) showed up on the 15th. To be fair, these men were the only positive part of this entire experience--they were professional, wrapped our furniture well, and packed the truck carefully. That's where the good ended. We expected delivery around August 22nd, but our belongings didn't arrive until September 14th--an entire month later. And when the truck finally showed up, at least one-third of our belongings weren't delivered. Mayzlin casually told us they "couldn't fit everything in the truck" and assumed what they did send were our "most important" items. Wrong. We both work remotely, and neither of our work desks were included. Boxes arrived crushed, and personal belongings were found loose on the truck floor. Some of our items were nearly lost completely--like a rug pad and cover that were mistakenly thrown back on the truck until I noticed and retrieved them. These items had been vacuum-sealed in bags. When I called Mayzlin on September 17th, I was told another truck might deliver the rest on September 20th. At the time of writing, I am still waiting. They've exceeded the 30-day delivery window buried in the fine print of their contract (which I unfortunately missed), and they have never offered any kind of retribution or real apology. The sales rep was, in my opinion, unethical and misleading. Had I been clearly told it could take up to 30 days to receive my belongings, I would have planned differently or chosen a different company. Instead, I was strung along with vague promises and zero accountability. Summary: Pickup crew: professional (but not Mayzlin employees). Delivery: 30+ days late. 1/3 of belongings missing on first truck. Damaged and misplaced items. Zero accountability, no restitution. Misleading sales practices. I also want to add that they were not the cheapest price to move. I paid about $8,000 for a move from Texas to Florida. We hired them to move us from Colorado to Texas for a job relocation. Found them through recommendations on several "review" websites that listed them as one of the top long-distance movers in the country. DON'T FALL FOR THIS BS! It all starts out good. I am talking to Joseph who promises me the most incredible moving experience I have ever had. They can absolutely meet our pickup and delivery schedule (see attached screen shots of text conversation with Joseph). The quote is incredibly deeply discounted. What starts as a $14K moved gets discounted down to $8800. This should have been the first indication that something is not right. But still I have read some good reviews (on sites that apparently, they pay to advertise on, not real review sites) so we decide to go with them because Joseph is making it all sound great. We are promised a pickup date of June 26th and when I explain that we will not be leaving until the 30th so can't have them deliver until the 2nd, that is "no problem we do this all the time". We will absolutely be there the 2nd or 3rd. (again reference the text conversation with Joseph). The local crew in Colorado is amazing, honestly I should have hired the three of them to move us. They communicate, they work hard, they are well worth the tip we gave each of them. Unfortunately, that is where the positive experience with Mayzlin ends. As they pull away in the rented Enterprise truck, not the Mayzlin logoed truck in all the fancy pictures, we didn't realize that was the last time we would see our things for a month. The month that follows is a long list of excuses and lies about what is going on with our stuff. When the crew left our house in Colorado our stuff was on a truck, and as it was explained to us it was that truck that would then get a driver and make its way to Texas. Well that is not even close to how things happened. We get to Texas and have not heard from the movers. So I call the customer service number and ask what is up. The response I get is our stuff is still in Colorado waiting for a truck. I say well I am not sure how that is because I was told the stuff would be arriving in Texas. The story I get at this point is that since we were not able to immediately take delivery it has be rescheduled and the timeline for our delivery doesn't actually start until the day we were ablet o take delivery. So now our delivery is not July 2 or 3, but rather 7 BUSINESS days later. When I say but wait I have these text messages with Joseph who said this wasn't a problem Okay so we have to wait until the 11th, we can deal with that. But no there is more. The 11th comes and still no word on delivery. It is at this point that the customer service people stop answering the phone when I call. Finally, I get a person again and she tells me there is nothing in the contract that says they guarantee 7-day delivery. Oh really because right here in this document with your company logo on it that I signed it says you will deliver my stuff in 1-7 days. Only response is the contract doesn't say that. So not seven business days, but four weeks later after several more unsuccessful attempts to get answers from their "customer service", we finally get a call that our stuff is coming. We are going to load the truck tomorrow and your drive will be there Sunday. Then 30 minutes later the driver calls. I am going to be there tomorrow. What that is even better. I cancel a weekend vacation I had planned to make sure I am home to great the movers when the arrive. The next comes and another call from the "driver". The excuse now is I didn't realize I was driving to Texas. I won't be there today because I am doing another delivery in Colorado today. I will call you tomorrow (Saturday) and let you know the schedule, but I should be there Sunday. Saturday comes and goes and no word. Sunda no word. Monday no word. Finally, we call "customer service" again. They don't know anything you need to call the "driver". 10 minutes later the driver calls me. We will be there tomorrow (Tuesday) 8:00 AM. Maybe 10:00. Not sure what time. Okay fine tomorrow it is. They show up about 10:15, I guess we fell into the "not sure what time" category. Won't unload the truck until they get paid. I expected this because they make it very clear that they only accept cash or Zelle for payments. Unfortunately, our bank website is down, and I can't Zelle. So now told they will be charging us $100 an hour for waiting. So, we scramble for ways to pay them while they sit around. Finally get them paid. They start unloading the truck. They are told they need to reassemble furniture. Nope they are just local grunts hired to unload the truck. They don't know anything about assembling furniture. And that is where we are. They wrapped all our furniture with care to avoid damage, and make no complaints about dealing with difficult stair cases or maneuvering their truck through some tight parking. Overall, the movers were fine. They moved from an apartment on the 4th floor and put the stuff in the garage. They packed things pretty carefully and loaded them into the truck and the storage unit. However, a simple 3-4 hour move turned into almost 6 hours because they moved around the apartment quite slowly. Overall, they did everything well, but there was some nuances. read more

3 weeks before our move with Mayzlin Relocation we found another moving company. The company makes it very difficult to cancel, with the contract stating that "Customer must verify that the cancellation notice has been received for a complete refund of prepaid deposits" which means once you email asking to cancel, they need to call you back and confirm verbally, AND they need to send you a "refund form" you need to sign and send back. They said it would take 7-10 business days. I spoke to Joseph who would not let up and asked over and over again why we went with another company stating "we are entitled to know why" and that "it is odd to cancel". He then sent in a text message: "Thought you said you were going to let us know who you went with. Hopefully wasn't some scam broker like [customer name] was talking to originally". When I texted back and just asked for the confirmation he texted back "You got the verbal commitment 3 different times now, stop acting like we're trying to keep your money I can guarantee you we're not. Now if you don't mind letting us know who you went with that would be great." When I thanked him for putting it in writing he said via text "You bet! now are you going to tell us who you miraculously chose over us 3 weeks later...." I've never encountered such unprofessionalism and rudeness from a company, moving or otherwise. Why we're cancelling and who we're going with and when it's well within their timeline is none of their business and to hold our money hostage or try to keep us on the phone until we answer is absolutely ridiculous. One of the worst moving experiences I've ever had. The person who took my order from Florida was polite and professional, but everything went downhill on moving day. The crew that showed up was a nightmare--they started haggling and changing the price on the spot by adding random charges. It felt completely unprofessional and stressful. Moving is already hard enough, but they made it worse. I was seriously considering losing my deposit and canceling the move altogether. After making a call to their manager, they came back with a "better" price, and at that point, I just wanted to get it over with. Although delivery was on time, my $2,000 TV was broken due to poor packing, a brand-new iRobot vacuum cleaner never arrived, and one of my beds was transported uncovered and arrived dirty. This has been the most stressful and unprofessional moving experience I've ever had. From the start, the company kept trying to charge more, always finding new excuses for extra fees that were never mentioned beforehand. Every part of the process felt like a tactic to get more money out of me. They also claim to be a local moving company to make customers feel safe, but that's completely false. They don't even have their own trucks -- everything is handled through third parties, and they hide this information until it's too late. Customer support was the worst part. They never contacted me with updates, and any time I tried to call or message to ask where my belongings were, they ignored me. On the rare occasions someone actually answered, the attitude was rude, unhelpful, and made it seem like the situation was my fault. The time frame they gave me was not real at all. There is a group on FaceBook of folks who have used Mayzlin. Trust me the comments are not good for this moving company that has no problem lying to you from the very start. Be sure to READ what you are signing at the start of your move because if Mayzlin loses or breaks anything of yours during the move you are SOL. They moved my delivery to three different trucks before it reached me and half my things were antiques. They broke a flat screen tv in half and lost quite a few of my antiques. The report you have to fill out is quite detailed and takes a while to complete. After I submitted mine, Mayzlin offered me $30.00 compensation. After relocating from the East Coast to the West Coast, I chose Mayzlin Relocation based on extensive research and positive reviews. I guess those were misleading. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect the high ratings they've received--and I believe those valuations deserve a second look. To be fair, the booking process and initial pickup went smoothly. However, the delivery was a major letdown. Our trash bin arrived dented and damaged beyond repair, and a nightstand--both packed and wrapped by Mayzlin staff--was chipped in the front. The delivery team also dented and scuffed our freshly painted walls, which added insult to injury. Worst of all, one of our boxes was lost. When I followed up, I was told, "It has yet to be located and we are unsure if we will even be able to locate it for you." Seriously? For a company entrusted with transporting personal belongings across the country, this level of carelessness is unacceptable. Given the high price we paid, the value simply wasn't there. This was the WORST moving experience of my life (I have lived in five states and six cities). I have never written a negative review because I genuinely have never cared enough to write one, but this was the most poorly executed move I have ever experienced. From start to finish, they blatantly lied about timing. We didn't receive our belongings for THREE WEEKS. Every time we called regarding its whereabouts, their response was evasive and misleading. Then, when we finally received our belongings, they lost our office chair and broke nearly every single fragile, valuable item we owned, despite having clearly placed numerous FRAGILE stickers all over the cardboard boxes and having diligently wrapped them in bubble wrap prior to Mayzlin picking up the belongings. It also ended up costing nearly $600 more than the estimate because of the distance between the truck to our front door, which was NOT brought to my attention prior to signing the estimate. I am of two minds about my recent Mayzlin move. I will freely admit that I made a complaint at BBB about Mayzlin's lack of communication. But now that it's over I want to do a breakdown of pros and cons of hiring Mayzlin and point out what I feel Mayzlin did right and wrong. Move: 1100 miles from the northeast to Deep South. Cons...starting here because the move was made much worse by these cons. Delivery time. Stuff was packed up on July 30 and I was given an insanely huge delivery window of 3-21 business days. I did not receive my furniture for nearly a month as it sat in their Baltimore warehouse waiting for a truck. That was a long time in an empty house. COMMUNICATION Very bad. Abysmal. Probably the single most important reason I would advise against using Mayzlin. The customer service line is rude and dismissive if you call. Expect to not hear anything for a LONG time. PROS Price is excellent. Care for items, at least on my move, was first rate. I see from others that this was not the case so ymmv. I packed most of my stuff my self barring the wrapping of furniture, pictures/paintings, tvs and a mirror. I was wary because I know that packing my own stuff reduces the company's liability. Out of forty five or so boxes and lots of furniture the only damage I had was a single broken ceramic waste basket, which can easily be chalked up to my own poor packing skills. If anything, the people who wrapped up my furniture went overboard on the taping. It was hard to unwrap some of my stuff. I am hardly complaining though. The results were excellent. Overall, if I had had a little bit more proactive communication from Mayzlin and had more ability to plan during the many weeks I had my life on hold while I waited for my stuff I would be satisfied...even with the LONG delay. I suppose if you are not the anxious type and can deal with having to put your entire life on hold for a month while you wait for them to deliver (which they say they could do at any time with only 24ish hours notice) yeah, go with Mayzlin. Once they got our stuff loaded on the truck (an Enterprise rental btw and NOT the company owned truck they promised), we could not reach a human being for days, the customer service number goes to voicemail - TERRIBLE customer service because trust me, they do NOT care about customer service, and also trust me, they WILL find a way to extort more money from you at the end. This is a criminal organization, run by and employing criminals. They will also trash your stuff. TL;DR: This moving company had hidden fees, talked down to me, has a mover walk off, broke multiple items, didn't finish putting any assertions back together and didn't communicate. This company is beyond awful and I wouldn't wish them on anyone. Our experience was marred from the start by a representative, Chris Gibson, who failed to explain anything properly. "White glove" doesn't exist here. This company thrives off working around scrutiny. During the loading process, I was blindsided by a slew of new fees supposedly "outlined in the contract." When I questioned them and asked for clarification, I was assured by the representative that there would be no more surprises and no more additional fees. Since then, I haven't heard a word from him. Trying to review the contract was nearly impossible with the rep urging me not to disconnect while simultaneously pressuring me to sign. This happened multiple times, with payment requested solely in cash or via Zelle, a detail that was never clearly disclosed. Days before our move, I attempted to warn Mayzlin (with no response from Chris, Customer Service, or David) that our new home's road couldn't accommodate large trucks or semis. I never received a call back from our rep, but did manage to speak with the delivery truck driver, who was adamant he could navigate the terrain despite my warnings. Predictably, upon arrival, the truck couldn't manage the hill, leading to delays and unnecessary stress. The second mover that walked off the job was flabbergasted that a semi had been dispatched to our mountainous town. But we were made aware of our $950 additional fee for the shuttle! After enduring a six-hour wait for a shuttle (something I had warned them about days earlier), the delivery driver proceeded to speak down to me, forbid me from contacting corporate, and demanded payment while disregarding my concerns. His demeanor was condescending and dismissive, epitomizing poor customer service. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Communication is sparse, their promises are empty, and they will gas light you and lie. Please find another moving company & take the recent 1 star reviews to heart. Your experience is not at all important to them. It's been weeks - I haven't heard back from claims. I was told I by our sales rep I would hear from someone about my awful experience. We got 1 single call back after writing this review. And no one has called or cared. They make it almost impossible to make anything fair. They broke the feet off my all wood dresser, my vacuum is snapped in half, plastic boxes are smashed... their claims center doesn't help in any way. mayzlin did not inform car truck driver about first availability date of my car delivery so the driver forced to load and unload my cars each time he pick up or deliver someone else cars. mayzlin did not inform me about cash payment upon delivery when the truck driver delivered the car so i was not prepare for a cash payment. mayzlin did not prioritize my first availablilty request or did not try to deliver the near by dates eventhough i mentioned about it many days before the moving. very negledgent in customer service. shipping damage one dresser, did not assemble the dresser drawers, did not assemble one bed properly (missing nuts/ screws), did not assemble the legs of the bed. they promised $200 refund to fix the issues by calling a handyman but gave me only $100. truck driver was very rude and did not want to cooperate with me for the proper placement of the items. he even left someone else tv in my garage until i told him that this is not mine. see the attached photos for evidence. overall, very unprofessionally handled my moving and did not care about my items. defenitely not the right moving company for long distance moving. read more

We're currently in the midst of a long-distance move with this company, and while we're holding out hope that they'll course-correct, I want to share our experience so far--especially for others planning a complex or time-sensitive relocation. The project has been plagued by poor estimating, shifting quotes, and inconsistent communication from the outset. What was promised in terms of timeline, staffing, and care hasn't materialized. Entire rooms have been left untouched, critical areas like the garage and basement are still incomplete, and--most frustratingly--we've experienced visible damage to our home. What's worse is that we've been told leadership may be focused on their own personal move, which seems to have taken priority over managing ours. That's not just ironic--it's disappointing and unprofessional. We're under significant pressure with cars being picked up and a cross-country RV departure tomorrow, and the lack of urgency and planning has put us in a difficult position. That said, there's still an opportunity for this company to get it right. If they can properly staff, supervise, and complete the job with care and speed, we're open to updating this review to reflect that improvement. Atleast for long distances, I would NOT use this company. I believe they must only have decent reviews due to their local moves. But check consumer affairs and other websites regarding them! Wish I had done more thorough research. I asked their rep Joseph S. several times, what's the longest timeframe for receiving my things, and they he kept saying 7- 14, "rarely but 21 days at most. I moved from TX to OR. Theyre deceiving by acting as if they offer you "30 days storage" as if it's an option. Not telling you that your things will be gone for atleast 30 days according to their deceptive contract and practices. They also tell you that they dont contract with anyone else and only use their professional movers (more to come on this). They picked up my things 8/4. I didn't see my things until 9/21. I called and called and no answer. When they would finally answer, the woman in the most unempathetic tone basically said "stop calling, we will call you when were ready to deliver. We have 30 days from the date you said you're available." I was flabbergasted. So now, not just 2-3 weeks from pick up, but from 8/11 when I said id be in OR to receive my things. I was paying for hotels, airbnbs and eventually a new empty place. I had to go buy a ton of temporary things to live, not to mention I was starting my new job with barely any of my clothes. I was expecting according to the very rude woman that I would then be getting my things by 9/11. Nope. Called and called for days, no answer. They finally called me back and rudely told me again "my supervisor talked to you before and told you that we would call you 24 -48 when we load your things and its on the way. AND, we dont deliver on weekends." So now I also need to miss work for whenever they decide to show up. Cool. So I finally got a text message that weekend (now days beyond their own deadline), "we will be loading your things this weekend. It will come within 5-8days." 9/18 no word from them. I texted again, "were my things loaded and are they on the way?" No answer. 9/20 I get a call from the guy saying they're a day or 2 away. Heres the next kicker! "Give me your address so that I can confirm that we can fit our 18 wheeler on your street." Now what neighborhood would you EVER be able to fit one? So they charged me an additional $650! He said he would need to move my things onto another truck to bring it. They showed up in 39.99 Uhaul with my stuff and other peoples. And remember they only have their own professional movers come? Well he hired some local random young guys (very kind individuals) but very little experience. They showed up following the uhaul in their car and everyone reeking like weed. Which is their business on their own dime/time, and not mine. Knicking walls, and not knowing how to carry things. I had to advise them so that my things didnt get broken. Im filing a claim now to receive my measly $25 a day over the contract date that they didnt deliver. I filed the claim and they denied this as well. Offering $100. Moral of the story: nothing can be more stressful than not knowing if youll ever see your whole house again. Do your research beyond google reviews and apparently dont trust @forbes list. Previously I got a pod, they alway deliver on time and I hired local movers. I will always go that route in the future. read more

1 Star - Nightmare Move, Borderline Extortion - DO NOT USE MAYZLIN MOVERS This was, hands down, the worst moving experience I've ever had. If I could give zero stars, I would. Mayzlin Movers was late, dishonest, unprepared, and shady at every turn. First, they arrived 12 hours later than the scheduled pick-up window, leaving us completely stuck and without updates all day. Then, despite going over our inventory in writing and on THREE separate phone calls, they showed up with not enough space in the truck and acted like it was news to them. They also jammed a rock in the door of our apartment building to keep it open, which broke the door and left us with over $1,000 in building damage charges. As if that weren't enough, the day before delivery, they told us they would arrive "sometime tomorrow" with no exact delivery time, forcing us to wait around for another 24 hours. Then they suddenly claimed we owed an extra $573 because they "needed a shuttle" (based on Google Maps 3D, apparently?) and because of "stairs" -- even though everything is being unloaded into the garage with zero stairs involved. Our driveway is massive and can easily accommodate a semi. This is just a made-up charge. When we questioned it, they threatened to withhold our belongings until we paid the added fee -- a clear intimidation tactic. To top it all off, they only accept payment in cash or Zelle, which is a huge red flag and feels intentionally designed to avoid chargebacks or accountability. This company is completely unprofessional and operates on scare tactics and deception. If you're considering them, do yourself a favor and RUN the other direction. Customer service is horrible they hung up on me when I asked to speak to someone who can actually answer my question, they cannot tell you where or when your items will be delivered. This is by far the worst moving experience I've ever had. I hired this company to move me from Connecticut to Florida. They picked up my belongings on May 19, promising delivery within 3-5 days. It is now June 4, and I still have no delivery date, no updates, and no access to my items. I'm scheduled to leave the country on June 9, which I told them in advance, and they repeatedly assured me my things would be delivered long before then. That was a straight up lie. They also now claim I "didn't pay for expedited shipping," even though they never offered expedited shipping as an option in the first place. When I asked about upgrading to it after the delay, they told me I couldn't -- yet they originally sold me on this being the "fastest route" and guaranteed no more than 5 days. Meanwhile, all of my belongings have apparently been sitting in a warehouse in Maryland for weeks while they wait to fill a truck. I've been sleeping on a blow-up mattress that's killing my back, I have no clothes, no cookware, and none of my pets' essentials. My animals have been living without their belongings just like I have. I paid $3,000 for this nightmare. The company's customer service is disgraceful. They won't return your calls. The salesperson who was supposed to "walk me through everything" disappeared the moment they picked up my stuff. If you do get someone on the phone, they're rude, dismissive, and give zero answers. I even offered to retrieve my items myself and was told no -- they won't tell me where my belongings are being stored and hide behind a "contract" just to keep control and get the rest of their money. I only got an answer from them when I went to there call center myself and knocked on there door till someone answered. This company is dishonest, unethical, and completely uncaring. Worst movers ever. Items poorly packed and damaged. A valuable coffee table was damaged to to improper packing after being warned it was fragile. They claimed it was already damaged which was a lie. Lingerie used as packing material for garden tools. Loudspeakers packed with bathroom material. Dozens of silk ties packed next to shoe polish cans with any wrapping. NONE of the boxes were labelled so it was a mystery where to put them. Seven months later and I am still finding missing items in strange places. Parts for furniture and book shelves (the pins that hold the shelves up were lost). An expensive turntable was packed on its side damaging it. Mayzlin's office staff earned this one-star rating. The five-star service my agent, Nicholas, sold me quickly dissolved after I signed the contract. Once you give them the initial deposit, poor communication, unaccountability, slow (if any) response times, and dismissiveness are the hallmarks of their customer service. In addition to their horrible customer service, Nicholas misrepresented several selling points that encouraged my decision to use Mayzlin. 1. 'GPS Tracking' - I was promised GPS tracking of the truck with my items throughout transit. Despite my attempts to obtain it, I received no GPS information for the moving truck. Only after my items were delivered was I informed that GPS is only available on semi-trucks, and while Mayzlin initially planned to use a semi for my move, they changed their mind and decided to use a box truck, which, somehow, in 2025, does not have GPS tracking available. While this may be the case, informing your customer of changes to their moving plan seems pertinent, particularly if it affects one of your main selling points. 2. '10 day walk-through' - I was told there would be an in-person walk-through 10 days before the move to finalize the item list and ensure appropriate packaging. In reality, this was an expedited phone call with no in-person or virtual visualization of my items. Perhaps if this had occurred as sold to me, Mayzlin would not have unilaterally changed my moving plans, and my driver could have arrived better prepared on moving day, avoiding a 4-hour delay waiting for a second truck. 3. 'We own our trucks, and your move is close to a hub, so your items will remain on the same truck throughout transit' - When attempting to get GPS tracking information, one of their excuses was that my items were not on the final delivery truck. This was truly perplexing. I am supposed to have GPS access the entire time, but I cannot have it right now because they need to move my items to the 'final truck,' which I was told would not happen? You could imagine my surprise when my items arrived in the same 2 box trucks that they were picked up in... who knows where the truth lies. The office staff's failure is very unfortunate for Mayzlin. The actual movers, Berik and Oleg, did a fantastic job. My items were well packaged (pictured), efficiently loaded and unloaded (3 hours unload for a full 26' truck + 1/4 of a second), they secured the additional U-Haul at no hassle to me, and all items were delivered undamaged. I would readily seek their services again, but not while Mayzlin's office staff is involved. Mayzlin's prices warrant a massive improvement in customer service. Please do yourself a favor and find a moving company that values its customers aynd integrity. I will not trust Mayzlin with any of my future moving needs. read more

Customer service was excellent (at first). Mike was charming and said he would walk us through 'every step of the process', then all of a sudden, 'Mike' disappeared after the movers picked up our property in Austin. We were given a 48-hour window for delivery and assured that our property was going to be delivered in a 26-foot box truck because our driveway would not accommodate a larger vehicle. This is the only reason we chose Mayzlin above the other bids we received. A few couple days before our property was scheduled to arrive in Vermont from Austin, I called 'Mike' repeatedly and couldn't get through to anyone. Eventually, I got through to 'customer service' representative who was not only ignorant, but defensive, and aggressive for no reason. She informed me that our property was still in Austin, and that the company was waiting on an 18-wheeler to go to the North East to deliver our property and that if we needed a box truck we would be responsible for paying for it in addition to additional service fees. Furthermore, she had no idea when our property would be delivered, and mind you, this is just a couple days before our property was due in Vermont. At this point I called my lawyer, and we drafted a letter of complaint, which got 'Andrew's' attention. We were able to reschedule our flight and other responsibilities to accommodate the administrative incompetence at great personal and financial expense. To that end, the man on the ground, Andrei, was a competent mover with clear communication skills, the only person in this whole business with integrity. This is the WORST moving company I've ever used, and I've moved a lot. I used them because of the Forbes review, but boy were they wrong. This is a move from Washington, D.C. to Chicago -- 2 major hubs. They sold us on price and plan, which then started ratcheting up. They finally gave us a pick up date giving a range of days. Then they called and tried to change it to another day after we changed our plane tickets, which cost us a LOT of money. It's been 2 months and here we sit in Illinois with NONE of our things. They don't answer the phone, the don't reply to emails, they won't give us any information except that the things have NOT moved from the DC area. But they ARE charging us storage fees. I have never received such dishonesty from a company, and I regret ever having contracted with them. They promised so much and delivered none of it. They promised us that even though it says up to 30 days because our kids are special needs, they "would keep pace with us during our drive cross-country" and "our drivers are really good at accommodating families like yours" - false claims they have not followed through with. We last heard from them 2 weeks ago that "the route is being planned out and will be on the way." We were fed a whole bunch of lies. From the jump, they don't tell you that they don't set up the actual pick-up or drop-off dates until dispatch sets it up. So when you finally hear from them with the non-preferred date, it's 2 days past your cancellation date to get a refund. And that's when they tell you that the salespeople sometimes overpromise but it's really 2 weeks to 30 days. After they pack your things on the truck, they have you sign paperwork that states it's 30 BUSINESS days. We were driving across the country and needed them to come on the 1st, but they couldn't arrive on that date but could arrive on the morning of the 2nd. Needless to say, the timing was off for pick-up, but our friends pulled through for us, and they stayed at the house to meet the team of movers. Mayzlin showed up 4.5 hours after the original time they promised to arrive and there wasn't enough space in the truck for all of our belongings. At this point, I'm convinced their salespeople are con artists and that they have taken thousands of our dollars along with our things and have now ghosted us. This week (2.5 weeks after the route was being planned and more than a month after picking up our belongings) we heard yesterday that it will be another 10-14 days and $150 credit to our account. UPDATE: We got a call last week on Friday that our things were being loaded onto a truck. Truck 642, and that we could track it live. Well, said truck was in Colorado for 3 days this last week. Fine, it's taking its time....not fine. I checked the tracking this morning and the truck has mysteriously vanished from the tracker. Where could it be? We have no clue! Customer service has not called with updates AGAIN, not even even to let us know if there was a breakdown. Mayzlin had our things in storage for 2 weeks before even thinking before even thinking of fulfilling there side of the contract. We're now coming up on them having our things for 30 days with no clue when we will actually get them. Again DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Remember when I asked to speak to a manager? Yeah, never got a call. I seriously doubt anyone will help us from this company. ------ Mayzlin relocation has been an absolute nightmare to work with. They started off great, were very communicative and helpful. The SECOND our things were loaded onto the delivery truck they became impossible to get ahold of. We were told our earliest delivery date would be no problem, that the 4-21 day from pick up was from the day of drop off. Ok great, that's not too bad. Or so we thought. They have since changed that statement to our first available delivery date. So now we're going off of our delivery date NOT the pickup which was originally promised? They have now effectively pushed our delivery date back because we said we were available? How does that make any sense? I know they are giving you a lower rate but the reason they are giving that to you is because they will lie to you about delivery dates and then store your belongings for 30 business days to pack up their truck. They do that to fill up a full truck with other peoples moves and then get a full truck going across the country. But again, they lie to your face about timelines and they will likely say there are weather delays in their response to my review here. What weather delays? My stuff is coming from Los Angeles in July. They lie. Also, deep in their paperwork it says that they have 30 business days to deliver! Don't believe their salespeople. I would NOT recommend using Mayzlin location. My move from PA to TX was a nightmare through each step of the process. Don't be fooled by their nice sales team. To give a few examples of how things went wrong: 1) Before the pick up, I had let the company know that the hallway to my apartment was narrow and that my 2 cushion couch would need to go out the window since that's how it came in. They said it was no big deal, they deal with this all the time. However, when the 3 guys showed up the day of my move, they REFUSED to take the couch out the window. After going back and forth for hours, I had to hire a second company the day of to get my couch out the window. Mayzlin also refused at first to reimbursement for the expenses of the 2nd moving company. 2) Their customer service in between pick up and delivery is AWFUL. They do not communicate with you about when your stuff has left the area. I had to call numerous times to check in. The woman I spoke to each time was rude and not at all empathetic. Like I was bothering her for doing her job. 3) When my stuff arrived, I was told the 18 wheeler was too big to fit down the trash alley where there was access to my apartment and they would have to transfer my stuff to a smaller truck. To do this, I had to pay them an extra $500. Seems like a scam to me - I've seen plenty of other moving trucks use the alley behind my building. 4) They sent ONE guy to unload my stuff. They had 3 guys pick up my stuff and only one to drop it off. It took him over 7 hours to bring everything in. Since he was bringing in the boxes so slowly, I was able to open each box when he brought them in. He brought in multiple boxes that did not belong to me. Luckily, he was still unloading so I was able to send the boxes back with him. 5) Stuff was missing and broken. The claim process was slow and compensation wasn't enough for all the problems I had. They wouldn't give me compensation for things that were missing since I didn't claim those items when they were dropping off my stuff. Who has the time to go through every single box before the movers leave?! That is just an unrealistic expectation. 6) The estimated timing for delivery was 7-10 and it took over 3 weeks. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. Let's start by saying, I am not one to write reviews good or bad so take this as you will. Whatever you do DO NOT use this company for your out of state move. TLDR: - terrible communication - worst logistics department and coordination - rude and unhelpful customer service - no respect for their clients schedule - tons of hidden fees and charges - dishonest, rude employees - mild disregard for items - too expensive for the level of service received Here's the long story for those interested: The "pick up" of my furniture at my apartment had been scheduled for Tuesday, 7-30-24, between 1 and 4pm. This was the last day of the "Requested Move Date" window on the Moving Estimate. However, the 7-30-24 pick up did not occur. Ivan, Mayzlin's contractor, kept pushing back his arrival time and ultimately told me that he would not arrive until after 9 pm on 7-30-24 because his truck had broken down. This was problematic because my landlord needed me to be out the apartment by the end of the day. After some back and forth throughout the day (and a rude interaction with Mayzlin customer service rep Michelle) the pick up day was rescheduled to Thursday, 8-1-24 at 8 AM, after my landlord agreed to an extension. Ivan arrived on 8-1 at about 12:30pm. Ivan then unexpectedly added $1728 to the initial quote, allegedly for packing materials and a "long carry" fee. I disputed this and pointed out that Mayzlin had moved the same items into the same apartment the year before and had not charged her a long carry fee. Ivan's response was outrageous to any reasonable person or company that is supposedly built on customer service. Ivan told me that "your move, stuff and money don't matter to me." Then while we were waiting to hear from customer service to call me, I asked Ivan to wait outside. As he left he said "Good luck, bitch". Right after this exchange, David, a Mayzlin customer service representative, called me to ask how the move was going clearly not knowing what was happening. I explained what had happened. David said he would have someone call me. Shortly afterward, I received a call from Alli, another Mayzlin representative. Alli offered Callie a $600 discount on the move. Ultimately I did not feel comfortable allowing Ivan and his team take my things after he explicitly said my stuff nor move was important to the company. I requested a full refund of her deposit. Alli said that Mayzlin's "claims department" would call about my deposit. As expected I never heard from the claims department, even after calling the customer service line multiple times after with no answer and no response. It took a letter from a legal representative outlining their breech of contract to get my money back. Throughout this entire time, my assigned move representative was essentially unreachable. The one time I was able to contact him via text this was his reponse to me being upset with the pick up being 2 days late: "Listen, I understand your frustration however, this is still in your window. So with that being said I do not understand why you are furious. I get being a little agitated. However, on my behalf I am doing all I can. I'm glad they contacted you so you have some clarity". Mayzlin's website states that "Trust, Transparency & Quality" are the "values that we [Mayzlin] stand for." It also states, "We are transparent and working hard to improve quality [sic] of our service every day." With all due respect, I doubt that a reasonable person would agree that Mayzlin's treatment of my move represents trust, transparency or quality. read more
