    Having relocated 14 times throughout my life, including five cross-state moves, I have extensive experience working with moving companies. Unfortunately, my experience with Mayzlin Relocation LLC was by far the worst I have encountered. Moving is inherently stressful, whether it is across town or across the country. Rather than reducing that stress, Mayzlin significantly added to it through poor communication, lack of organization, delayed delivery, damaged belongings, and unprofessional service. Our household goods were delivered approximately a week and a half later than scheduled. While frustrating, the delay ultimately became one of the less significant issues we experienced. On delivery day, the crew consisted of the company driver and two local individuals hired to assist with unloading. Mayzlin advertises disassembly and reassembly services. While our beds and cribs were disassembled before transport, the company representative asked me how to reassemble them upon delivery. More concerning, the cribs were reassembled improperly, with screws left protruding and other screws completely missing. Given that these cribs were for our young children, this created a serious safety concern and required me to disassemble and reassemble them myself. The most troubling aspect of the move was the extensive damage to our belongings. Having completed numerous long-distance moves, I understand that occasional damage can occur during transit. However, I have never seen such a large number of crushed boxes, broken items, and damaged possessions. The volume of damage was far beyond what would be considered normal or acceptable. When the driver presented the delivery paperwork, I declined to sign because it stated that all items had been delivered in good condition. After I informed him that I had documented the damage with photographs, he required me to walk through the shipment and identify damaged items while he took photographs for the company. During this process, he opened boxes and handled our belongings carelessly. His demeanor throughout the interaction was rude and unprofessional. The claims process was equally disappointing. Mayzlin uses CSI Claims, a third-party claims administrator retained by the company. After weeks of waiting and only shortly before the claims deadline, we finally received a settlement offer. Despite the extent of the documented damage, the proposed compensation was just $120. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share this experience in hopes of helping others avoid the same frustration, stress, and financial loss. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Mayzlin Relocation LLC and would strongly encourage anyone considering their services to look elsewhere.

    I am really sad I am just seeing the reviews for Mayzlin - hoping my experience is much better. Than these but not that hopeful.

    I AM SO SORRY FOR THIS LATE & LONG OVER DUE REVIEW I HOPE IT'S NOT TOO LATE!…read more I booked Hornet Moving fairly late in my moving process - barely 48 hrs prior - due to the incredibly convenient, straightforward upfront pricing and direct booking, all on their website (way less of a hassle and much faster than filling out a form and waiting to receive an estimate back, like most others). This was my 8th move in 6.5 yrs and my 7 previous moving experiences were painful for a number of reasons, several of those being due to the moving company/movers booked. I was anticipating this move to match the pain of the previous at minimum, possibly worse, due to other circumstances regarding my moving situation (completely unrelated to my confidence in Hornet Moving or any moving company in general). HOWEVER, to my surprise and relief, this was my best experience with a moving company/movers to date!!!! BIG BIG HUGE SHOUT OUT and THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH TO MY MOVING CREW - JARRETT, ARTHUR, and GUSTAVO!!!! My scheduled moving time was in the afternoon (~1 PM) which Hornet Moving makes it clear that afternoon apts are not guaranteed to start right at 1 PM on the dot and could arrive anytime between 1-4 PM (makes sense and is fair enough considering that the crew is likely coming from another moving job booked for that morning). So I was aware of this and did not expect for them to be on time given that there's only so much within their control there. But they WERE on time!!! By the time they got parked where they needed to, unloaded their supplies, and started the moving for my apt unit belongings on the 4th floor and also my remaining storage unit items on the 1st floor, commuted to my new place (about a ~4-5.5 mile trip depending on route, typically between ~10-20 mins depending on traffic/time) and unloaded everything (while also having to rearrange boxes and misc. furniture I had already brought over that were in the way of unloading everything else), they were 100% finished and had already left the driveway before 4:30 PM!!! They also boxed my 65" TV and my 75" TV (which I had saved the original boxes for). I found Hornet Moving from using Google's "AI Mode" to search for movers that handled TVs, including TV mounting service, and options with upfront pricing and/or direct booking entirely online. Hornet Moving came up as a result checking all those boxes!! I found out once the movers arrived that TV mounting is not a service Hornet Moving directly provides as part of the moving job, however, that ended up working out fine since I wasn't able to have my TV mounted at that time anyway due to some electrician work that was not yet complete. Several large and heavy pieces of my furniture are considered "particle board" / -related material items, which are easily damaged during moves due to durability (my previous move before this resulted in almost all of my stuff getting damaged, chipped, scratched, dented, etc. in one way or another due to the movers not wrapping these items well, or at all, and that was during a move within the same apartment building from one unit to another - so none of these items were loaded into a moving truck and/or commuted, yet they still got damaged due to carelessness ). I worried about those items this time around, but Hornet Moving wrapped my furniture properly with TLC and handled everything with the utmost care!!!! All of my belongings made the move safe, sound, and undamaged‼‼‼ Again, best moving experience I've had!!!!! The crew and company was great and easy to work with from start to finish. The online booking process is wonderfully easy and convenient, and they were incredibly prompt and responsive with their communication. 0 complaints to be found, even if I wanted to look for something to nitpick!!! I would highly, HIGHLY recommend Hornet Moving and I would absolutely use them again in the future!!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOOOUUUU again to JARRETT, ARTHUR, and GUSTAVO!!!!!!

We did a ton of research and decided on Reign as it was more expensive than other options so we figured would be higher quality. They also had all 5 star reviews so we figured it would be the best. We are now wondering why this is. They are definitely more expensive. They charge more per hour and they also charge a $350 'truck fee' that no one else charges from quotes we got. We were charged over $1700 for 5 hours. What we liked- - It was easy to schedule and they had our date available a few weeks out. They offered to set up a FaceTime to look at our items and make sure they sent out the appropriate number of trucks. - They gave us an hour window of when they would show up, and an update the morning of so we knew when to expect them. - They were nice and made sure they knew exactly what we wanted. We did one last walk through of the old place before we left. They made sure we were happy before they left the new place. We had 3 movers who were kind and seemed trustworthy. - They listened to the writing on the boxes of where to put the boxes in the new house and if it didn't have writing, they put it in the equivalent room in the new house of where they found it in the old house. - They were careful with our things and were able to unassemble and reassemble our pieces. They also wrapped up the furniture items with blankets to preserve them. - They worked quick and efficiently Why we aren't giving them 5 stars: - they stopped at the gas station between the old house and new house and arrived at the new house 30 minutes after us when we were right behind them the whole way up until the gas station. They did ask us if they could stop to get snacks but I didn't realize it would take this long and they did not deduct this from the time they billed us for. - They asked us if we wanted mattress bags for $15 each. I said yes as I figured this would be something we could keep and save for future moves. They did not leave us the bags. So we paid $30 to basically 'rent' 2 bags which I feel we should have been able to keep or not be charged for. Next time I will buy the $15 ones off Amazon that I can keep. - They took a shelf out of our entertainment stand. In the move the nails/pegs fell out. These are specialty nails to hold the shelf in. Now we are unable to use the shelf, and the piece sags without the shelf in. We have since gotten rid of it and gotten a new one. - The top of our desk will not fit properly on when this was never previously an issue and we ultimately can't fix it and will need to get a new one. - They were about to leave and I noticed something was missing so I asked about it and they had to go back on the truck to get it. If I didn't ask, they would've left with it still in the truck. - They did not deliver 2 small decorative pieces of ours that were the last items on the truck- not packed in a box. Which not a huge deal but I noticed shortly after they left, contacted the company, and they were not able to find them. We are completely unpacked and I know these things are not at either of our houses. ** which they did reimburse us for these things which we are thankful for!! Also customer service was very helpful at first when we were trying to find these items and discuss reimbursement, but then it was pretty hard to get ahold of them to confirm our reimbursement agreement and get them paid. It felt like I was tracking them down just to get our reimbursement approved and get them paid. We will likely use a different company next time we move.
