Mayzlin Relocation was not a good experience for me. This was my first time utilizing a moving service, and Mayzlin Relocation was recommended as one of the top 10 moving companies, although I'm not sure how that is possible. There were many important details that were overlooked during my moving process, such as not being informed that there was an option for a dedicated delivery truck or "set move in date". Because of this, my belongings arrived a week later than requested, meaning that I needed to find living accommodations for seven days until my belongings could be delivered. Additionally, my invoice continued to sky rocket after each and every interaction with this company. My first quote was around $8,000...then my second inventory check went to over $9,000...then at the time of the the pick up, it increased to over $11,000...then I had to pay an additional $300 in long carry fees, elevator fees, and stair fees that were not previously quoted before they would unload my belongings. It should also be noted that I packed all of my own belongings (beside the larger furniture like my bed and sofa), and also had to assist with the process of organizing the boxes as they were unloaded as the staff did not speak fluent English or understand the method in which wanted the belongings organized after coming off of the moving truck. Additionally, there there were a quite a number of my moving boxes (heavy duty storage totes) that were damaged beyond repair to include damage to my bed due to a poor method of loading/stacking my belongings on the truck and trailer. In hindsight, I would have have utilized a different moving company if I knew what this process would entail. I am thankful that my move is over and that this nightmare of using Mayzlin Relocation is finally behind me. read more

Worst experience ever. Move from San Francisco to Savannah. Multiple damages of wooden furniture. Chunks of wood broken from items. Missing/lost/destroyed rosewood dining chair. Several missing or stolen items including clothes, cooking utensils, art pieces. On top of that, they took 29 days and my belongings were still on the west coast for more than three weeks. My opinion is that you should STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS POSSIBLE. read more

Mayzlin... it took me months to recover from a Mayzlin move. They are by far a horrific experience. They "use contractors" not their company. They sit behind their desk and hope the move went well My experience was horrible. I was promised everything I needed. They did not come through on any level. They are a low bid and it shows I'm writing this because they were: days late, Rude, and damaged my furniture. Very nice Russian speaking only people showed up. I couldn't understand what they needed and wanted from me. I was never compensated for the damages to my furniture. I was never compensated for the delay in moving. I had family to help yet Mayzlin didn't show up!!! This is a horrible company. Don't use them. They are horrible. They are low bid, don't protect your furniture and all they want is your money. This will be a bit long, but if you don't want to read it all just know - DON'T use this moving company. First things first, THEIR GOOGLE REVIEWS ARE SKETCHY. I used to work for a website that provides a similar service to Google Reviews, and all I'm saying is that it's very weird all of these 5-star reviews come in as the only review on a persons profile. And they're all lacking any sort of detail....idk but that's weird. Check their Yelp page to see the truth of their service My boyfriend handled coordinating our move from VA to FL, and chose to work with Mayzlin. The planning, pricing, and coordinating phases of the move went very smoothly. The price seemed reasonable, and our sales person Danny Murphy (who is actually Danny Mayzlin, the son of the owner Simon Mayzlin - why did you give us a different last name? That's so weird) was very available and helpful...in the beginning. We had the movers pick up our things on August 16th, and the move was scheduled for August 19th. We didn't know this initially, but the movers told us they were going to move our things from VA to BALTIMORE and keep them in a warehouse until our move, which I hadn't heard over until the day of the move. The language barrier between us and the movers made this a bit tougher to understand. We knew there was a seven day delivery window, but we had planned the move over 3 months in advance so we were hopeful things would go smoothly. We had to fly down to Florida that weekend to receive our things, and to little surprise our things did not arrive. Fair enough, we knew there may be a delay, but the frustration came from the lack of communication. I called, texted, and emailed basically begging for somebody to just get in touch with me to tell me what was going on. Our main point of contact, was never heard from again. Even to the time of writing this review, we have never been able to get in touch with him again. The multiple emailed I sent to customer service never got a reply. And then the voicemails I left with customer service did not reply until over a week later, basically saying there was nothing to update. Finally, after returning to VA and staying with family on August 25th they tell us they will deliver our things IN A WEEK. We end up moving down permanently before our things arrive. So we sleep on an air mattress for a week, with no idea where any of our things are. Nobody to speak with, we just hoped our things would arrive eventually. Come September 1st, only after telling us that their truck won't fit in our apartment complex, they move all of our things into ANOTHER truck and deliver our things at 9pm. Crazy enough, the movers that moved in our furniture were the ONLY competent people throughout this entire process. I regret not paying more for a more reputable and professional company. I am very disappointed in their lack of communication, and timeliness. The sales person Danny abandoned us once he got our money, and the customer service dispatchers basically gave us nothing. Sorry, this is a long one. My dad used this service to move from Charlotte to Texas and did not have any issues in 2015. So when my mother passed away last year and he retired and decided to move back to his home state of Missouri this year, he decided to use this service again, we did not think there would be an issue. We were terribly wrong. The price was ok for a 900-mile move. He did not have a lot of stuff, considering he was moving 60+ years of life around. The contract stated that he should get his stuff within 1-7 business days for a move with that amount of miles. (It does say at the end that they reserve the right to take up to 30 business days, but, come on, who does that in real life unless there is a blizzard or a volcanic eruption?) They left Texas on March 16th, 2024, and he literally just got the last of his stuff today, April 16th, 2024. They did not tell him they would store his personal items, clothing, electronics, etc, in an undisclosed warehouse in Austin, TX for an undetermined amount of time. They did not tell him that 2/3 of his belongings would arrive in early APRIL and the rest would arrive on April 16th. In fact, it was nearly impossible to get them to tell him ANYTHING AT ALL because they are the most unresponsive company on the planet. If they were any more unresponsive, someone would perform CPR on them. Someone needs to take their business license. The things they delivered were things he could replace. The things they held in this unknown storage location were irreplaceable to him. Family items from his late mother, paintings from his best friend who died too young. You don't treat people this way. Do better. You have one job. Move people's things from point A to point B. Yet, you choose to go through the entire alphabet to get to point Z from point A, making up excuses along the way. I would not recommend this moving company to anyone! I do not want to short sell the perks so here they are: - Before you pay and before your items are moved, everyone is very sweet and helpful - The moving crew is efficient, they aren't friendly, but they do a great job packing/moving - The price is right and they do a great job getting you the best price out there. (keep reading) Long distance moves can be tricky and stressful. I called so many company's and finally gave up because I didn't have time to continue searching. This company takes advantage of your situation and manipulates you into thinking their service is the only option for you. Please wary, once you make payment and this company has your items, its a fight to try and get any details. My items are being held hostage and there is nothing I can do. I called to provide a delivery address 2 days ago and was told that my items could take 21 days to even begin to move. I was told not to call back because there would be no update to provide. I have attempted to reach a manager but the representatives in the call center are very blunt in that they will never help you and you just have to wait it out and hope your items are delivered some day. The most disappointing thing about this service is I am paying 6,000 for zero customer support. I will have a house but nothing to lay my daughter in when we move. Things to take note of: - The contract you sign is several pages long with tiny font. When you are in a pinch and trying to get things moving, they use this is a way to lock you in. - The sales reps don't speak to the actual moving company who manages your items once payment is made. Wow I guess I lucked out- This was my second time in one year using Mayzlin. Ive moved over 13 times for my job. I will say moving is not easy and it will never always be exactly how I want it to go. Initial estimate from my moving coordinator Scott was around 5800. I added a few small items on and made some adjustments so it went up a mall amount from there. Overall the team was nice and the guys who picked up the stuff were cool- They called me ahead of time and said they are stuck in some traffic and to give them some time but they were on the way. Scott was upfront about delivery when I reserved- He said it technically could be anywhere from 3-21 days but likely will go faster. 12 days later.. I had my things. I had a deeply disappointing experience with this company, and I feel it's my duty to share my story to prevent others from going through the same. When I booked with them, the sales representative, Jason, delivered a convincing sales pitch. I mentioned that my last move with a broker took two weeks for my items to be delivered. Jason assured me that, since they were carriers, I wouldn't face that issue. My items were picked up on Wednesday, August 28th, as scheduled, and I was pleased with the movers' professionalism, who handled my belongings carefully. They asked about my expected delivery date, and I provided Thursday, August 29th. I was then advised to add five days to that, setting my anticipated delivery date for Tuesday, September 3rd. Based on this information, I arranged my move, took time off work, reserved a hotel room, and made all the usual plans for a move. On September 1st, I called to check if my furniture was scheduled for delivery, as I hadn't received any information. I spoke to Iesha, who seemed annoyed by my inquiry. She was unhelpful, even yelling and interrupting me. She insisted that they were closed and that I needed to wait for someone to call about my delivery. She emphasized that "estimate" does not mean guaranteed and claimed they were not late if they delivered within 30 days. I had to take extra days off work because my work equipment was on the truck, and I ended up staying in a hotel for an additional five days. There seemed to be no way to contact the owner of the company, and customer service was incredibly unhelpful. According to the contract, a move of 0-1,000 miles should take 1-7 days, and my move was 800 miles from Florida to Virginia. On Sunday, September 8th, I received a call from Iesha stating that my furniture had been taken out of storage and I should receive delivery in 2-3 days. However, on Tuesday, September 10th, I received another call from customer service saying my furniture was never loaded due to mechanical issues with the truck. I should expect delivery on September 13th or 14th. When I inquired about a price adjustment for the delay, I was told they had 30 days to deliver for a second time, citing weather and mechanical issues as justifications. Aside from how they had to wait for the driver to return from another delivery, a real explanation was never provided. I reached out to Jason, the sales representative who was the reason I chose this company, but he was not helpful either. When he called me back, he seemed annoyed, addressed me by the wrong name, and stated he was just returning my call without the friendly demeanor I had experienced prior to booking. He mentioned he was not involved in customer service, despite that being part of what he was selling. He offered to follow up, but I never heard from him again. When I spoke to customer service again and recounted what the sales team had told me, they said, "Well, I cannot go by what they told you." Unbelievable. Although they are carriers, I don't believe they own their own trucks. My furniture was picked up in an Enterprise truck, and when it was delivered, it was also in an Enterprise truck but had a company decal on the side. The truck had graffiti on it. I finally received my furniture on September 19th at 6 PM. Everything was unloaded and assembled, and around 9:45 PM, I had to sign papers confirming I received all my items. I received all my furniture and thought I had all my boxes, but they were scattered everywhere, and it was late. A few days later, as I sorted my items, I realized I was missing a plastic container and a small box. Additionally, the screen on my TV was cracked when I unpacked it. I was watching TV when they arrived, and they packed the TV, and it seemed secure. So I don't know if they cracked it while packing and did not let me know they cracked the screen or if it cracked in storage. My ceiling fan was also bent, and one box burst open as if another box had been placed on top despite having a "fragile" label. I called the driver, who said he would check to see if the box was still in storage and would get back to me in a few days, but I have yet to hear from him again. The movers quickly unloaded my furniture and correctly assembled the pieces. I wish I had numbered my boxes to ensure I received everything. Moving is stressful, and dealing with rude customer service representatives only increased my stress. Please heed my warning and avoid booking with this company. You are at their mercy once they get your money and your furniture, as they stand on the 30-day window to deliver your items before they consider it late. They never apologized for the delay and asserted that this is just how the moving business operates. I would never recommend Mayzlin and I wish that I had read these reviews before choosing them for my cross-country move. The sales people pour honey in your ear, one-up the competitive offers, and then disappear. My belongings were picked up weeks ago, and NO ONE at Mayzlin can tell me where my belongings are. When pressed about making the delivery window, they flaunt a clause in the fine print that says they only owe you $25/day for late delivery. This is FAR FROM A PREMIUM SERVICE. That really should be NO STARS. Mayzlin has to be one of the WORST moving companies in the country. Beware, they DEMAND money BEFORE SERVICE. This move and storage cost me $30,000. I hired this company to pack the contents of my home in Colorado and store everything in their facility until my new home in Maine was ready and then deliver the household to my new address and unpack things into the new house. I told them I needed delivery as soon after July 16 as possible. They delivered on August 10 and 11 (a weekend when their offices are close). I had to live in a hotel for 20 days because they couldn't tell me when my goods would arrive. Finally, the truck driver arrived in a U-haul saying he couldn't get the big truck up my driveway and that he would have to SHUTTLE the furnishings from his big truck to the U-haul and it would take two trips. He demanded immediate payment of $3000 more before he would deliver. He never tried to use the big truck. It was parked over 30 minutes away. Then he told me he had no help, it was just him and he couldn't get the big pieces into the house himself so he couldn't place furniture where we wanted. A lot was just pushed into my garage. Moving furniture himself, he damaged walls, doorframes, and furniture. Then he left without reassembling any of the things disassembled by the packers. I can't find cables for computers, TVs, or stereo equipment, or reassemble furniture that was taken apart. He removed the legs on a sofa and then couldn't get them back on so he balanced the sofa on the legs and left it in a hallway. I tried calling the company but got a recording saying they were closed on the weekend. No one has acknowledged my calls or complaints. Why should they, they have my money and more. An email from them referred me to csipros.org to file a complaint but an internet search shows this company is a scam paid for by the movers to kill complaints. Mayzlin lists themselves as BBB Approved. I have photos of example damage. I will have to hire movers to properly distribute the furniture that was left in wrong rooms or in the garage. Between the horrible packing job that didn't adequately protect items and the damage done by the unloader, it will cost me literally THOUSANDS of dollars to fix things. Sales was great, explained Mayzlin's philosophy and how they are different, and the Sales guy (Mike) promised to be right there all along the way - even texted me his contact information and told me to let him know if I had any issues. Fast forward to move time... I was told that it would be between 2 and 7 business days for our belongings to go from Kentucky to Florida. Once our items were picked up, absolutely no communications or updates. Customer service number went to voicemail most of the time, and when someone did answer I was simply told they did not have an update. After a while they would scold me for calling, telling me that I had called two days earlier and told I would receive a call when an update was available. I was even told that they legally had 30 days, so basically quit bugging them. If I thought Mayzlin was like every other moving company and would revert to legalities, I would not have picked them - they were supposed to be better. Mike (Sales), who claimed he would be there for any issues throughout the entire process, was nowhere to be found. Texted, called, left messages, called customer service and asked to have him call me, eventually asked for his supervisor - NOTHING. Never head from him again. Items were finally delivered on the 28th day, and the only time Mayzlin was responsive was when it came to collect payment, making it very clear they would not unload one item until payment was maid in full. Keep in mind they never called to tell me when things were being delivered - I found our the truck was on its way during one of my inquiries. Driver called less than 24 hours before he was coming and told me to make full payment by 9:00 am the next morning. Now for unload day! At 9:00 am random people started showing up at my door saying "I'm here!" They had no idea what was going on, and neither did I. After a few minuteswe figured out that Mayzlin had placed a Craig's List advertisement for people to unload the truck. I hired experienced movers for a reason, and Mayzlin went and hired random local people, who had no moving experience, to unload all of our belongings! If I had wanted strangers with no experience to unload the truck, I could have handled this entire process on my own and saved a lot of money! I expected a professional moving company to hire professionals. When the truck was unloaded, the hired help (with no connection to Maylin) starting letting me know that the truck was loaded pretty bad - fragile items on the bottom, heavy items on top of light or fragile items, and seemed to be several things damaged. A dining room chair was crushed to the point that the two front legs were completely snapped off, a dresser top was completely cracked in half, and many boxes were completely smashed. The boxes were packed correctly - full, items bubble wrapped, etc. - but the items were handled incorrectly. Again, they hide behind the law on this one, stating their legal, limited liability, telling me to file a claim. Mayzlin will tell you that the late delivery (from 2-7 days to 4 weeks) was perfectly legal, broken items happen and their liability is limited, etc. They will tell you that my delivery window was actually 6-11 days because of my first available date (which is true). However, ZERO communication or updates, no returned calls, rude customer service, hiring people from Craig's list, etc. etc. etc. was unacceptable. I hired professional movers that claim to be different for a reason, and Mayzlin failed at every step of the way (except they did a good sales job). If you are going to claim to do moving different, have better customer service, own all your own trucks (both trucks used to load our belongings were rented), employee your own drivers and movers, and promise a delivery window during the sales cycle, then stand by those claims and BE DIFFERENT. Promises are easy to make, but evidently much harder to delivery on. One last comment - one employee actually had the nerve to tell me, "I know this is bad, but it could have been much worse." read more

This was one of the worst customer service experiences that I have ever had. Initially, I was assured by the sales team that my goods would make it to the destination within two weeks. After the moving truck came a day early, we got the stuff moved, and into the truck. We then set out cross-country separately. After we had reached our destination and waited for a few days, I contacted the movers because I had not been notified that my goods had left California, as I had been told that I would. So, 11 days after they had been picked up, I was informed that my goods were still sitting in a warehouse in California. I asked how they would get them to my new home in Vermont within the 14 days that the sales team had promised and I was informed that they had 30 business days before the delivery was considered late under the contract. I checked back periodically and the customer service team, when they would answer the phone at all, were completely unsympathetic and seemed to just want to get me off the phone as quickly as possible. Finally, after several weeks, I was informed that they had found a driver and that my goods were scheduled to be picked up that Wednesday and they would arrive at the destination by the next Wednesday. I called back the next Monday to attempt to confirm their progress. I was told that my goods were in Colorado and they would likely make Vermont in four days. I called again on Thursday when I hadn't received a call from the driver regarding delivery. I was informed that, despite representations that the truck carrying my goods would have tracking, that was not the case and they could not tell me where my goods were. But they would likely be delivered over the weekend. The weekend came and went without a call from the driver. The following Tuesday, I was informed that the driver would likely be there Thursday. Fortunately, unlike prior representations, this turned out to be the case. My goods arrived mostly fine. A few things, such as my dresser, had been destroyed and needed replaced, but the majority was okay. In summary, it took them more than five weeks to deliver our goods while my wife and I had only packed two weeks of supplies based on their representations of the time it would take. In my opinion, either the sales team is woefully unaware of the actual performance of the rest of the organization, or they actively work to misinform you. The contact team after they have your goods does not seem to want to help you in the least. You may get your stuff, but much later than you they tell you you will. They are cheaper than many of their competitors, but I would gladly pay the difference for a better experience. I will never use them again. read more

Before I paid, communication was excellent. After I paid, it completely disappeared. I called for an update yesterday (01/25/25)and received none. I called again today(01/26/25), only to be told, "You called yesterday. There are no updates, and we'll call you when there is." That's unacceptable. I have medication in one of the boxes, which was accidentally packed in the wrong one that's on me. However, I have an AirTag in the box, and it hasn't moved in nine days. How is my shipment supposed to arrive within the promised 7 to 10 days when it hasn't even left the initial location? (they picked up 01/14/2025) This entire process has been beyond frustrating. I could've gone with another service, but I chose this company because I spoke with a representative who assured me they could deliver within the timeframe. I even explained that my previous carrier wouldn't be available until the 26th, and they guaranteed they could deliver faster yet here we are. Update: After an entire month of waiting, my items were finally delivered on the 11th of February far beyond the promised timeframe. And yet, the nightmare didn't end there. * As the delivery worker moved my elliptical off the truck, he broke it right in front of me. * My TV stand arrived broken. * When I carried my TV upstairs, I noticed the box was caved in, and the screen was completely shattered. I pointed this out immediately, and the response? "Call customer service." So I did. Now, I'm stuck in a claims queue, currently at number 202 I started at 278 and it can take up to 90 days just for an update. To make matters worse, they charge $75 per flight of stairs and have the nerve to define a flight as just seven stairs. Final Thoughts: This was, without a doubt, the worst moving experience I've ever had. Not only was I blatantly lied to about the timeframe, but my belongings arrived damaged or completely broken. This company made big promises to get my business and then delivered nothing but delays, damage, and disappointment. Would I ever recommend this company? Absolutely not. Update: On March 24, 2025, I was informed that my claim for my damaged TV was denied because I had packed the TV myself. However, I followed the company's instructions precisely--I purchased the recommended TV box and used foam and bubble wrap for protection. Upon delivery, the mover caused additional damage by putting a hole in my wall with a mechanical dolly. The TV box itself was bent, as if it had been struck by the corner of another box, indicating that the damage occurred due to mishandling during transport. Regardless of who packed the TV, it is evident that the damage was caused by the careless handling of my belongings. Overall, this has been an extremely disappointing experience. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM A company that does the following is a SCAM: - DELIBERATELY DOES NOT COMMUNICATE the expected delivery date at the time of sale (before placing deposit) but inconspicuous states on contract an expected delivery of at most 7 business days for 1-1000 miles (if there are no issues) or 30 business days (when there are weather/mechanical issues present). - A customer service that DOES NOT GIVE YOU ANY UPDATE on where goods are or an expected delivery date. - A customer service number that CONSISTENTLY GOES TO VOICEMAIL. - A customer service that DOES NOT RESPOND to your voicemails. - A sales rep that REPEATEDLY HANGS UP the phone when you ask for help. It has now been 7 business days since the first available delivery date provided and there has been NO UPDATE on the expected delivery date. In fact, I have just been informed by the sales rep that the items are YET TO BE SHIPPED!!! THEY ARE STILL IN THE STATE OF ORIGIN as I type. BEWARE! Worst moving company I've ever worked with. Moved from CO to TN. Sales underestimated the move, even after 3 virtual walk throughs. Wasn't told box trucks would load our items, which would be placed in a warehouse, to await a semi to pick up. We waited for days, just for our items to leave the warehouse. Packers were disorganized and it took 2 additional days to load our items. and 2 weeks later and we're still waiting for a 1/4 of our items, just sitting in their CO warehouse. Customer Service says don't call Us, we'll call you. First driver did his job (hence the one star) and we received our first delivery in TN 5 days later than expected, with only 3 men to unload a complete semi truck. WORST moving team I have ever seen, unprofessional, ill-managed, lots of fraudulent information. First, the customer rep and the company tries everything to trap the customer to use their service with fraudulent information. I would definitely choose another moving company if given the complete information. For example, the customer rep Daniel Cardenas told me that I do not need to worry about the shuttle service and I do not need it, but when the delivery date was approaching they told me that I have to pay it otherwise they cannot deliver my items. Another example is that they told me the actual price is based on the actual volume not the estimated volume, so I signed the contract even though there are some items on the estimation list that I am not going to move. However, they refused to adjust the price even though the actual volume is one fourth lower than the estimation. Second, the company seems poorly managed, and there are lots of mis-communication within the team. The team called me and asked to pick up my items from my old address after my first final delivery day has already passed, and my items have already been picked up 20 days ago. I guessed that can explain why there is such a long delay of my delivery. Third, they are not professional in packing and moving stuff. They just used some blanket to pack my $1600 PC w/o any cardboard, and it was broken during the move and cannot be used anymore. Also, lots of components of my items are missing during the moving. Not only was the moving experience poor, but the customer service was as well. They kept telling me that they would prioritize my concerns only to eventually say that there was nothing they could do. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They lie and say whatever you want them to in order to get your business and then completely ignore your needs. Once they get your deposit, all bets are off and there is zero transparency and zero customer service. They picked up my items on Saturday and a week later they were actually further away than where they started. And forget the gps they promise you. That's a lie too. Apparently when they pick up your items, the driver leaves them somewhere and another truck picks them up. They don't tell you that and if you're lucky enough to get someone on the phone they won't tell you where your items are or when they will be delivered. They just say be patient. The GPS tracking is a joke. Our truck went missing and no one could- or would - tell me where it was. They refused to give me any information at all and just told me to be patient . One person told me to stop calling every day because it wouldn't make the truck get here any faster. The problem was no one even knew where the truck was. When it finally came back on the map it barely moved for days while we could see other trucks driving right by us. They made absolutely no effort to deliver our items on time. They left my daughter stranded in an empty apartment for days. When the driver finally arrived, he refused to park in the designated spot and yelled at her and fought with her until he made her cry. Finally, I was able to get customer service to instruct him to park and unload. And then they charged me an extra $75 because he had to walk across the street. Do not believe the positive reviews. I scheduled my move for 12/5/2020 from Houston, Texas to Los Angeles, CA. My belongings were picked up on 12/5/2020, I did not receive my belongings until 12/18/2020. The only reason why it was even delivered that early was, because I did a stop payment on a bank check. They initially told me I wouldn't receive my belongings until 1/4/2021. I got their attention then. Prior to procuring their services, I reached out to Scott (the sales rep) and inquired about any additional charges I might incur (as other's reviews were questionable). I even sent him a complete map of where I was moving from and moving to. He informed me that it was a reasonable distance and I should not expect to incur any other expenses. Tiffany (their moving coordinator) informed me that there were would be an elevator service charge for pickup and delivery. It was reasonable so I was okay with it. Upon delivery, I specifically informed the movers they can park on the main street by obtaining the 2 orange cones from the office. The building manager said it was okay for him to park right where my unit is. He wanted to make things difficult and go from the back of the building so he can obtain an additional $300 fee. I refuse to pay the fee as a map was clearly sent to Scott and he informed me that there wouldn't be any additional charges. Furthermore, the movers were trying to make it difficult on themselves. I reached out to Tiffany to find a solution, she didn't respond (even on her cellphone), the movers left all of my belongings on the curb and left. They didn't even refund me for the delivery charges. I called the movers, Tiffany, and the moving company numerous times after to discuss the issue. They didn't answer my phone calls. It wasn't until they realized they delivered the wrong items to me that they reached out to me. (If you recently hired Mayzlin Relocation Services and are missing some of your boxes like studio lighting equipment, cameras, and tripods, please reach out to me.) The movers threatened to call the police and I advised him he should. Let me be clear, I don't care about these expensive studio equipment. I want my belongings and I want a refund on this incomplete job. Leaving my belongings on the curb is inexcusable. Furthermore, I was charged for the disassembly for my furniture and assembly. We have made 10 corporate moves in the last 24 years and this was by far the worst experience we've ever had! We contracted with Mayzlin because they were a NC company that was aware of the challenges in delivering to Asheville. We were quoted two 16ft trucks with 6 to 8 on the moving crew and our move would be a direct delivery with no offload until at our home in NC. The day they were to pack, they did not show up until 1:00pm and with only 1 truck and a 3 man crew. We were told the second truck broke down so was unavailable and still in Maryland. We immediately started calling on sales coordinator who was unavailable and never returned any of our calls. We told the moving crew that we must be out of our NJ home by noon the following day and one truck would not hold all our household belongings. They left at 6:00pm to drive back to Maryland to offload our stuff then return early am the next day. We told them this was completely unacceptable as we contracted for no offload and two trucks. They returned the following day at 10am in another truck (we took pics to make sure they didn't offload) and we stressed again, we must be out by noon as the buyer's movers were arriving at that time. They finished up around 3:00pm with the buyers movers waiting and trying to work around them. Stressful doesn't even begin to cover how things were handled. And again, our coordinator was unavailable but we did reach another salesman who was extremely rude! He wouldn't even speak to us or pass us along to someone that could help with the issues. The delivery crew of two trucks and two movers showed up in NC but not the same guys as the packing crew. That was probably best as the second truck they packed with all our priceless antiques was a mess. They didn't wrap anything and despite stressing how important it was to protect our items, we were shoved into the truck with no thought of securing. My wife stood in the driveway crying as things were removed destroyed beyond repair. These antiques were from early 1800's and survived until these careless movers touched them. The delivery crew were upset as well because they couldn't understand why nothing was handled correctly. We tried repeatedly to reach the office, sales team and customer service with little to no response. It took the guys two days to unload because it was such a large job for just two guys. Sorry, this is a long one. My dad used this service to move from Charlotte to Texas and did not have any issues in 2015. So when my mother passed away last year and he retired and decided to move back to his home state of Missouri this year, he decided to use this service again, we did not think there would be an issue. We were terribly wrong. The price was ok for a 900-mile move. He did not have a lot of stuff, considering he was moving 60+ years of life around. The contract stated that he should get his stuff within 1-7 business days for a move with that amount of miles. (It does say at the end that they reserve the right to take up to 30 business days, but, come one, who does that in real life unless there is a blizzard or a volcanic eruption?) They left Texas on March 16th, 2024, and he literally just got the last of his stuff today, April 16th, 2024. They did not tell him they would store his personal items, clothing, electronics, etc, in an undisclosed warehouse in Austin, TX for an undetermined amount of time. They did not tell him that 2/3 of his belongings would arrive in early APRIL and the rest would arrive on April 16th. In fact, it was nearly impossible to get them to tell him ANYTHING AT ALL because they are the most unresponsive company on the planet. If they were any more unresponsive, someone would perform CPR on them. Someone needs to take their business license. The things they delivered were things he could replace. The things they held in this unknown storage location were irreplaceable to him. Family items from his late mother, paintings from his best friend who died too young. You don't treat people this way. Do better. You have one job. Move people's things from point A to point B. Yet, you choose to go through the entire alphabet to get to point Z from point A, making up excuses along the way. Started out well, lots of communication, very cheap, could come quickly, then after they had the initial payment and all of my things packed away, they vanished. I was told they would be at my new place next day, but they did not show up. I called, emailed, and texted my rep Ryan, emailed the main email, and called both numbers listed about a dozen times about where my things were and when they would be dropped off for several days before I finally getting an email saying they would check on it. I called, emailed, and texted multiples times again over the next few days with no reply. I finally got someone to call me back and say the same thing. A few MORE days go by and finally they says they will be there in like 2 days. I tell them I am out for the weekend and they would need to come Friday or the following Monday, and the will confirm with me if they can do either of those. They, of course, do not get back to me and I all of a sudden get a random text from the mover himself confirming the days and times. Monday is all set. I also distinctly remember asking at the beginning of all of this if some of the tables in the new house can be moved to make room for the new incoming furniture. Ryan said they could. Once the movers are here and I let them know, they says they cannot touch anything since it is not insured to them, which was very disappointing. Move was not huge with very little heavy furniture. I packed most of the boxes. When I mentioned bad reviews, I was told they never had any. The price was better than most I found. I was not told until the last minute that my belongings might be stored /had no idea how long that would be and it kept changing. While moving boxes to garage for their easy loading I had a bad fall and could not immediately check all items right when delivered. I had experienced moving too many times to count. This was the most troubling as I was not told my belongings would be moved from truck to truck and then in storage. This was from West Virginia to Florida. The length of storage in warehouse in Baltimore kept changing. Nearly all of my clothing did not make it and other household items. The guys were pleasant and added my bike and other things because there was room. When the truck arrived after seeing photos of my area before arrival and telling me no trouble to unload, the driver said he could not get truck close to my door. It was totally dark and they had no light in the truck. Not a good driver as there was plenty of room. My bike was totally unusable and bent but the worst after delays in delivering my house was full of roaches. Never had any ever before. . Disgusting. I was told to make a claim by a rude woman on the phone. I called several times and NEVER heard back. It's clear you guys just lie to get business! Moving is a stressful enough but Mayzlin sold me a bunch of lies to get my business, then charged me extra for a "mistake" that was made by the sales rep with 8 years experience. The mistake sales made cost ME an extra $1757 - days before pickup. This means there was no getting out of the contract due to the lie of my "not to exceed" cost. The employees that show up are not all Mayzlin employees, as was promised. There was no 24-48 hour notice for delivery. My notice came at midnight the day of delivery. Unreal! Plus I was 3 hours away - which I told them several times during the process. Plus the driver didn't have anything to protect the floors and carpets. Not sure how a company calls themselves a relocation company but doesn't come with supplies to protect carpets. I left messages with customer service that were not returned. I asked my sales rep to have his boss call me about all of the lies and that didn't happen. I think the lies are just baked in your model. To start with, this company seemed good however as we finished the loading of our house they informed me that they under estimated our move by about $3k. This was not expected because they told us they overestimated. Now, fast forward a few months, and when I was trying to arrange delivery of our items, I had the displeasure of talking to the rudest and according to her the manager of the storage division. She was very condescending and wouldn't listen to anything I had to say. When I asked to speak to another person she said there was nobody else to speak with. 1 hour later, I got a call from someone. Then on a Saturday afternoon, I got a call saying they were coming the next day and I needed to have the balance due payment. This is where the company seems sketchy to me, because they only take cash or money orders. Neither of which you can get $10K on a Saturday afternoon with banks closed. They then agreed to come the next week, however, a day before they tried to cancel saying they didn't have any trucks. I didn't accept that, so they did end up coming, although it was later than originally requested. My wife tried to get a money order, but the bank wouldn't do a money order for $10K so they gave her a cashier check, which is like cash. They refused to take it and was going to leave with all my stuff. Finally, they said they would take it and started to unload our items. Now, that we have all our stuff we have found several items damaged/broken and many of them was documented with the foremen before he left. I've attempted twice to text the number that I was texting with before, but nobody is responding to me. I feel like I will never hear from them and I'll be out my own money having to repair/replace my items on my damaged. Use caution with this company - I feel like they are doing tax evasion because they would only take cash or money orders in the form of $1k each, to total $10K. Absolutely horrible experience--DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Every TV was broken despite being wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in TV boxes with corner protectors. It seemed like they either dropped them or ran something through the boxes. They lost the parts to my bed and didn't reassemble the desk in the office, which was mostly broken by them. Many irreplaceable items, such as my grandmother's oil and vinegar holders from Italy, were broken, along with a lot of sports memorabilia. I paid extra for the pool table to be moved, but they refused to place it where I wanted. When I tried to contact customer service, I received no response. Three of my Joss pool cues and the case are missing--stolen, in my opinion. After contacting customer service again, I still received no reply a week later. I was charged double the initial estimate. While I understood I might have had more items than originally estimated, seeing how my belongings were mishandled and damaged made me furious. I emailed customer service (Chris) again, asking what would be done, but got no response. The total cost for the move was nearly $15,000, and they either broke or lost $8,000 worth of my belongings. If I could give zero stars, I would. This company is absolutely horrible and untrustworthy. Run, don't walk, Run AWAY from Mayzlin Moving Company! Let me start by saying "Shame on AARP for recommending this company." Based on their recommendation, we looked into using this company for a move from Ohio to Missouri. We were moving in April or May of 2024, and we started looking into moving companies in October 2023. It was November 2023 when we signed a contract with Mayzlin. During our conversation with their representative Nick, we asked numerous questions regarding certain situations and what the company would cover in case of damage. We asked what services would be done at the time of the move, such as servicing the washer/dryer. He assured us that any damage, whether we packed the box or they packed the box would be covered. (It was not.) He said it could possibly cut the cost if we wanted to pack up boxes ahead of the team coming to pack us. He also told us that they were handle the washer/dryer at the time of the move. (The packing team said they did not do it.) Sadly, he was lying through his teeth. No one could be mistaken on the number of issues that came to light at the time of the move The biggest falsehood that he said was that the cost would never be higher than his estimate, and if we sold any big items or cleaned out things, it could possibly go down. Two weeks before the move, an auditor called to see what needed to be moved. The cost of the move went up by almost $2,000! Nick said, "I've never been that far off on an estimate." FRAUD at its worst! They offered to let us out of the contract knowing that they had us over the barrel since we were coming up on the date of the move. In the end, we paid $1,800 MORE than the estimate. As far as the move itself, we felt the packing crew was decent until we started unpacking. They did a great job packing up the dining room and kitchen items, but for quite a bit of the house, they used wardrobe boxes and piled things in. As we were unpacking, a few things came up missing. When we called to see if any boxes could possibly be left in the warehouse (we had to store things for 10 days), their reply was to put in the claim. It did not appear that anyone ever checked the warehouse. We have moved a number of times, and this was by far the worst for damage. The first thing off the truck was a kitchen table. The leg was cracked at the top by the tabletop. We had a coffee table that had a broken leg and a cracked board running the length of it. It appeared something heavy had been put on top of it. A metal floor lamp came in with the top sagging to the side and missing a base. Our glide rocker spindles are all cracked. A five foot wooden plant stand was in pieces. These are just a few of the items damaged. Add to these broken things the scratches and dings that were put in our wooden furniture pieces such as our entertainment center and dining room hutch, we were not happy with the results of this move. I submitted the claims as requested, and the result was a joke! They offered minimal coverage, and on the items they did cover, they did not accept my weight estimates. They took their "industry standards" instead of the ones I found online. If the damage did not change the functionality of the item, they would only allow 20% of the weight allowance cutting the claim down to nothing. None of the items packed by us were covered (as I said above, Nick lied repeatedly). The missing items had to be noted at the time of delivery; therefore, each one of them was declined. As for the wood tables, they declined them both as "movement of wood furniture will sometimes produce damage, particularly if the item is old." The other reason given on the coffee table was that when the wood dries, it shrinks, and then it absorbs moisture and swells leading to cracks. What the heck?! As I said, RUN, RUN away from Mayzlin. I don't know why this company has so many five star ratings on Google! We spoke with a man named Joseph and he promised us a 3 day delivery window from the day that our stuff was collected. It has been 4 weeks since all our stuff was taken and it is still sitting in North Carolina, while we are in Los Angeles, sleeping on an air mattress starting new jobs! We have called almost everyday and they cannot tell us when our stuff will be loaded onto a moving truck and told us if we wanted our own secured truck (so we didn't have to wait for one) we should have paid an EXTRA 2,000$ -- something Joseph failed to mention when quoting us. The costumer service is unsympathetic and incompetent. Additionally, once they have your stuff, you are not allowed to move it yourself. As I am writing this review, we still have not even heard that our stuff has even LEFT North Carolina! Nor can they even give us an updated time line! And the worst part is, customer service cannot speak to drivers and the business model is set up so they don't know when their trucks will arrive at certain locations. Unfortunately, the company makes a good first impression - but does not complete the job with integrity - told an 18 wheeler would be sent ("we own our own trucks" and charged for any overage. instead a 26' box Penske truck was sent and did not hold all of our belongings. After poor communication from the crew (language barrier and just not saying anything to us during the 7 hours they took to disassemble furniture prior to loading the truck). - driver charged $250 in packing boxes not cleared with us before doing. and quoted 8900$ to come back to get our lawn furniture/grills and boxes that didn't fit (later their crew at the destination told us we didn't have to rent to $2000 Uhaul and pay $700 in gas because they could've gotten it for 2000$) - The trash left at drop off and pick up by the movers was unacceptable- they even threw the drink can we bought in the middle of our floor instead of the garbage - i have several broken items- likely because they took the FULL truck and moved all our stuff into another truck instead of just driving to our location - EVERY item on inventory sheet is marked "scratched" I guess to CYA, but your delivery guys asked what we do for a living because we have such nice stuff...now I have a broken TV, a scratched up leather chair, a standing desk (brand new) that no longer works. ALL the disassembles furniture from pick up, the guys tried NOT to put back together I'd wobbly- my drawers, table, my sons bed- with a now broken headboard. Sadly I was ghosted after they took my property. Ryan the original sales person stopped responding as well as David. I never spoke to either again. No returned text, email or phone call. They said they were to deliver my items within 5 days. They took them on 9/17/24 and I didn't see them again until 10/3/24. After multiple attempts to contact them and dealing with 24 hour anxiety, I finally went to the BBB and found multiple pages of complaints from people who had much worse experiences than me. My anxiety was slightly diminished only because people eventually did receive their items. Some more than 30 days later so I suppose I should be grateful for only having to wait two weeks. I will say they called me two days prior to them delivering my belongings. However, the boxes were smashed and some were even opened from the damage of them bouncing around in the truck. No care whatsoever in the packing or transporting. My takeaway is, if you don't care about inflated costs, timing of delivery, communication or receiving your items the way they were taken, you can use this company. But I wouldn't dare recommend them. I would strongly encourage everyone to visit the Better Business Bureau website and thoroughly review the complaints before signing any contract with Mayzlin Relocation as they are the poster child for the old Bait and Switch.
