Boys are back in town. Welcome back, and after visiting the remodel, it was worth the wait. From the front-to-back area to the indoor and outdoor spaces, you get very positive and delicious vibes. Gia is kind and friendly, and we loved the new ordering system. No more long lines when ordering your food. I remembered long discussions on the side among the family and friends. Lol Everything looks good on the menu, except I miss my Brussels sprouts appetizer. But we tried fried olives with Harissa sauce, omg so so good. Chicken shawarma, combo kabobs, and roasted chicken; everything was served fresh and warm. Our server was very efficient, but actually, everyone around was kind enough to stop by and help us. I mean, everyone who was not even serving our table was awesome. Where did you find these angel workers? Drinks were good, and the tea had a strong cinnamon flavor but was not bad. We did miss seeing Saif and Jordan, but everyone was so kind, so it was ok. Love to see you all next time. Let's talk about Parking. That doesn't change, and I get it. Even though we went at 4pm for dinner, there was no parking. I found a parking space in the back, where I used to park when this was Green Valley Market. So many memories with this location. Congratulations and thank you again. Inshallah, see you guys soon.
I'm so glad this place is open again! It had been a couple of years since my last visit and I'm happy to say that the food quality and service are still just as exceptional as I remembered. The restaurant was busy, which is to be expected. Mazra is incredibly popular and for good reason. My family of 4 waited about 30-ish minutes to be seated at around 6:30pm. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating but I also noticed a steady stream of takeout orders, which is probably the way to go since the restaurant can get pretty lively and loud. My family shared the BBQ deluxe kebab pack and the dip trio appetizer, which were more than enough food for us with leftovers to take home! Everything was fantastic. Meats were perfectly cooked, tender, and nicely seasoned. Lamb was the standout! Every dip in the trio was delicious, especially the roasted beet. The garlic potatoes side were just as addictive as ever and remain one of my favorite sides here. If I have to note one thing, it's that the parking lot is tiny so you'll probably have a better shot parking in the street/neighborhood. Otherwise, everything from the food to the service was amazing and I'll happily keep coming back to my all-time favorite Mediterranean restaurant.
Amazing service The people guiding you t your table is so accommodating I first sat in the outside but I decided I would like to dine indoors and they helped me switch! I had the steak shawarma wrap lavash wrap it was delicious! I think they have hummus in it too? With garlic sauce and hot sauce I added fries which was a fantastic add I ordered a mint lemonade to go since everyone was raving about it I don't think it's for me, a bit too sweet and concentrated Next time I might do raspberry lemonade to try and have a cup of water ext to me The spice tea they have for self serve is good! I loved it The ambiance is really nice laid back but more date like setting with the fairy lights outside and it's kind of like you're on a vineyard dining background outside
I've been meaning to come to this place for the last 6 months or so but for one reason or another I was never able to make it until now and wow- it was 100 percent worth the wait. When you keep hearing buzz about a place and everyone you ask who's been to that place has nothing but good things to say, naturally your expectations are going to be very high, and even with high expectations Mazra still impressed me. The amount of food you get is more than generous, they have a self-serve water and tea station, the service is great, ambiance is beautiful, and the most important thing of course: the food was excellent. Truly a Bay Area diamond. One of the best restaurants I've been to
Mazra absolutely knocked our socks off! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the beautiful decor and welcoming atmosphere. The scan-to-order menu from your phone was incredibly easy and convenient, and the service was impressively fast. Most importantly, the food was outstanding. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The portion sizes were huge and definitely memorable; our entire group ended up taking home to-go boxes. This was one of those meals where you're already planning your next visit before you leave. I can't wait to come back and work my way through the rest of the menu. Highly recommend!
We had been wanting to come here for the longest time but couldn't get down to San Bruno. Once we finally did, we realized we should have made the journey so much earlier. The service throughout the meal was great and everyone just made you feel welcome. The decor and ambiance also make it feel like you're on vacation, with small touches that transport you. Plus the smells of the delicious food don't hurt either. We started with the Halloumi Cheese Roll which was a nice switch-up on texture. It could have used a bit more flavor but the crunch mixed with the cheese was a very good start. We also had the Tzatziki, the hummus, the tabbouleh salad, house pickles and the garlic potatoes as our various sides all which was very good. Everything packs a punch of flavor and goes super well with the warm soft pita. Also a super star for me personally was the mushroom skweres. Id never had that before but was a huge fan. Finally the mint lemonade is also SO FREAKIN GOOD. 100% can't wait to go back!!
My friend ordered us takeout and I got the chicken shwarma wrap and added the hummus dip! It was really good! I just wished they added more of the pickle inside. It also came with some spicy sauce and white sauce. And I used all of the sauces include the hummus. If you like more flavor, I would suggest to order an extra drip on the side. It was very filling. I'm giving a 4 star instead of a 5 because it was very oily. The oil dripped through the box and onto the counter. If you're eating this on your lap, the oil may drip through onto you as well. Other than that, I would definitely eat here again!
This spot lives up to the hype. The plates are beautiful and delicious. The hummus, tzatziki, and toum dips are super flavorful. The pita bread is piping hot and fresh. The shawarma loaded fries are so loaded with meat, sauce, and condiments. Must try-shawarma chicken, kofta kabobs, roast potatoes, and hummus.
Why did I not try this place sooner? I always pass by this place but never thought to give it a try. I was getting lunch with a friend on a Friday and he suggested this place. The restaurant was pretty packed for a Friday afternoon! There was even a little line out the door. We ordered a bunch of random things and all of it tasted great! The service was a hit or miss depending on who came by.
If you're looking for a quick and delicious Mediterranean tapas spot, this is the place. The double kebab plate is the way to go. Beef and chicken are both delicious, but if I had to choose one, I'd go with the chicken. The pita and hummus are so good. Don't skip the fries, they are perfectly crispy and delicious! This review is LONG overdue! After ordering their food for delivery and takeout, we finally dined-in! ~ Location, Ambiance and Service ~ Mazra is right off San Bruno Ave, in an a converted market. There is a small lot in front and one in back, plus some residential street parking. Both lots were full Thursday at 3pm which was a surprise. We felt comfortable grabbing a seat inside and we didn't wait long for our food. They have some outdoor seating in the front with patio heaters; a newer main dining area with tons of table and some booth options; and their ordering counter with additional seating in the back. They have tons of local art on the walls, hanging plants, chic lights, and it feels really open. They also have two private restrooms which were super clean. The employees are always really helpful when recommending dishes, and are so friendly! ~ Drink ~ We tried the honeydew juice ($4), which was super refreshing! They also had a raspberry lemonade which was tart (in a good way), and a hibiscus tea-like drink. ~ Food ~ ・Garlic Rotisserie Chicken ($18): This garlic-infused half chicken is always really juicy and flavorful; it's served over a hearty portion of their rice which is fluffy. I went with the Arabic Salad and Cucumber Yoghurt for my sides--both are fantastic and a cool contrast to the warm chicken. It also comes with a side of their chili sauce and garlic toum, which I put on every single bite. A really solid serving for the price! ・Shawarma Plate ($17): hubby got half chicken and half beef; this was my first time trying the beef and it was really flavorful! He got hummus and french fries on the side; the hummus is always really creamy, and the fries are similar to seasoned wedge potatoes (which is different than they used to have) but are still good! ・Shrimp Kebab and Lamb Kebab (both $5): the shrimp kebab always has a fresh grilled taste, and the lamb was super tender! Mazra is the first spot I recommend to people when they are in the area since the food is always phenomenal, the service is stellar, and it's a local gem. The lamb was really good. Ground beef was okay. The chicken was my least favorite. Rice and pita were good and the veggies were tasty. It's a self service restaurant, so there's not much to say about the staff. read more

I've been meaning to try Mazra for the longest time, but since it's pretty far away from where I live in the South Bay, I never really made the trip, until now. As a treat to myself for working in early Sunday morning, I decided I'll finally try Mazra, and it was so worth it. There are parking spots in the front and back of the restaurant, but finding a spot can be hard, especially during busy hours. I was able to find street parking further up in the neighborhood. As I walked back down to the restaurant, I can smell the smokey wood fire they use to roast their meat, and it only made me hungrier. The place was bustling, and it would've been hard to find a seat on your own, but the ordering system already got that figured out--you'll line up to place your order, then they'll give you a buzzer. You'll check in, writing down your buzzer number, and the number of people in your group, then wait on the side for your food. The host will find you a table, and if you're lucky like I was, your food will be ready just as your table is, so you can sit down and enjoy your warm meal. There is also a self-service station for utensils and tea/water. (Side note: I loved the tea!) Onto the food. The lamb shank plate was phenomenal. Meat was fall-off-the-bone tender, the sauce was flavorful, and paired deliciously with the fragrant yellow rice. It came with pita and two sides, and I opted to try the hummus and baba ghanoush. Both were wonderful, I personally preferred the baba ghanoush but I have always liked baba ghanoush more than hummus. Although I did wish the pita was a little warmer, it was a comforting and satisfying meal regardless. Friendly staff, amazing ambiance, phenomenal food--I am excited to visit again (or wait until their Redwood City location opens). I highly recommend Mazra to anyone who wants to try. read more

I first came here for a Yelp Elite event back when this place was just starting out. After trying their menu for the first time I got hooked! I always come back here and have recently been bringing friends here for post-Cinemark eats as it's right by the theater at Tanforan. From coming here so often and from following them on social media, I'm so impressed with the overall vibe this place sets up for its customers. The servers and staff are all incredibly chill and friendly. They get into different holidays (check out the photos of their spooky sauces for Halloween now that it's September) and have great art on display as well. The food itself is delicious, and I've been making my way down their entire menu, trying something different each time. This weekend I split the chicken shawarma plate with veggies and fries along with some falafel. Eating at the restaurant, the food was quick to come out and was piping hot. The spices and sauces were all perfection. I'm so happy that this place in my hometown is getting the attention it deserves. It's really a great local business run by kind people and the food is the best! read more

Got takeout on a Saturday night. I ordered online around 6:30pm. They say it'll take about 30 minutes, but plan for longer times. They were super packed. I got the double kebab plate with chicken and lamb, falafels, and sambusa. Falafels were kind of small, but they had a good crispy exterior and a moist interior. The sambusa were my favorite. It had a light crispy shell, and it was hefty. The kebabs were tasty, but they the meat was pretty dry. I though the portions were a good size. I got hummus and Arabic salad for my sides. The hummus was delicious, and the salad was refreshing. The pita bread was fluffy and still warm by the time I ate it. They were out if the lamb shank by the time I ordered. I'll probably try that whenever I eat from Mazra next. read more
This place was amazing! The atmosphere was super nice, with indoor and outdoor seating. I love Mediterranean food and Mazra is one of the best I've had in the Bay Area. - Crispy Cauliflower: tender and easy to cut into but also had a surprising crunch to it. Really enjoyed this because it wasn't soggy like how cauliflower normally is for me. - Falafel: Good flavor, crunchy on the outside and really good! - Garlic Rotisserie Chicken: Chicken is super moist and tastes really good with the garlic sauce, pretty healthy if you ask me! - 6-Hour Lamb Shank: Tender and fall off the bone, sauce tastes really good with the rice it's served with. Definitely a must have! For sides we got hummus, dolmas, and roasted veggies. They were nice enough to give us other sauces for free, including Tzatziki, garlic sauce, and cucumber yogurt. The sides were huge and I was surprised! Honestly I love it and am craving it already! Will definitely be going back. read more

So glad my partner showed me this place. It's a casual spot but has nice vibes. You order the food first and then find your own table. We came here for dinner and the line started to form out the door. I got the chicken shawarma wrap. It was so good. The chicken was juicy well seasoned. My partner got the kebab plate with the choice of chicken and beef with 2 choice of sides, the Arabic salad and tzatziki. It also comes with a garlic sauce. Everything was good. Looks can be deceiving! When you see Mazra from the outside, you'll think of it as a small, tiny restaurant. However, don't let the exterior deceive you from how spacious and trendy it is on the inside! I wish I got photos, but Mazra's is a cute eatery to stop by for a quick bite! Check it out for yourself! As for the street style wrap, it deserves a 5/5! Not too salty or overwhelming with sauce, their street style wrap with steak hits the spot for a late afternoon lunch. YUM. I loved how they cut their red onions and pickles--all thin sliced and possibly slightly pickled? It gave the wrap a nice acidity and complemented the steak and tzatziki sauce! The steak was also cooked to perfection and juicy with each bite! I also loved the addition of the French fries and thought it was definitely interesting to see in the wrap~ I also bought a honeydew drink, which was absolutely refreshing with its bits of grated honeydew! A little pricey ($4), but if you're expecting a honeydew drink, you're definitely getting it at Mazra's! read more
Came here for the first time with our friends because we heard this place was really good. We were really excited since we saw a long line as we approached the lot. Parking can be a little challenging since their lot is really small so you'd have to look for street parking nearby unless you're lucky. I think we maybe waited about 30 in line to order first before find a table to wait. They had so many sides to choose from and you can see which sides you want once you get up to the counter as it's displayed near the register. My bf and I ordered the double kebab plate, steak shawarma plate and our friends ordered the lamb shank, and chicken shawarma wrap. The seating was fair, they had both indoor and outdoor seating for big or small parties which was nice. The overall ambiance was pretty too. We sat in a booth inside and we got some complimentary tea that you serve yourself at a table on the side. We anticipated we would be waiting for awhile but after about 40~ minutes we started to wonder where our food was. We asked the kitchen kindly and they told us they had lost our ticket and apologized and said it'll be out soon. They comped some of the items on our receipt and even gave us an extra side dish to make up for it which we really appreciated as many restaurants nowadays don't go that extra mile. The food was really good, especially the garlic potatoes. The steak personally to me, was a bit dry but my bf's chicken and beef kababs were really good! Overall an interesting experience but it didn't turn sour which was good. read more

I was recently able to sample some of their offerings and I was impressed by what they had coming out of the kitchen. Here are some of the items we ordered and how all of it faired. chicken shawrma - seasoned well, topped with thin sliced red onions, tomatoes, pickled radishes, and thin sliced pickles on a bed of rice served on a rectangular plate, not dry, again well seasoned order this lamb/beef kebab - the meat was seasoned well, juicy, with same options listed above. I would order this again Cucumber yogurt - flavorful and refreshing Arabic salad - springy, fresh and delicious tabbouleh - the look reminds me of seaweed salad, sadly this is not seaweed salad haha total different taste then I expected baklavah - standard, flaky, juicy bottom, punch your in the face flavor order more then two if you have to share I will have to come back and sample the lamb shank if not the halfed chicken again everything we had was good, definitely a place you want to try the shaved ice on the side is also another plus definitely sample but know it is cash only if the owner has not charged his scanning device food **** need to try more price $$ service **** helpful staff, friendly ambiance **** wide open seating area during covid On a sour note... We wanted to have these folks cater our party recently, took the information down, called & emailed no response, waited two days, called main front number and stated that no one is responding on the catering side, I was told I will be called shortly, been more then 5 days no call back, no email, nothing... So just a word of advice the food here is really good, but the catering service even though it is an option on the main line, they do not pick up or answer emails. Again this is for the catering service side not the restaurant, everything at the restaurant was awesome, sadly the catering service is losing $$$ not responding to general inquires. read more
Came here on a Friday night and the wait to order wasn't too bad, probably 15 mins or so. Once you order, food takes another 15 mins to make. You grab it and find a seat to eat. The vibe is more fast casual but the decor is really beautiful with purple flowers hanging down from the ceiling. We opted to sit outside since it was fairly crowded inside. Ordered the 6 Hour Lamb Shank, Roasted Beets Salad, Chicken Shawarma Wrap, with sides of Baba Ghanoush and Tabbouleh Salad. Everything was delicious! I especially liked the beet salad (sweet and chopped up to be bite-sized), lamb shank (fall of the bone), and baba ghanoush (nice and smoky). Price is definitely reasonable for the quality of food. One of my favorite spots for Mediterranean cuisine; highly recommend checking this spot out! read more

SO delicious!!! I have been here at least 4 weekends in a row and have tried possibly half of their menu by now. Everything is so yummy and I look forward to the weekend so I can come by again! I especially enjoy their chicken kebab, it is so juicy, and I'm usually not a chicken fan! read more
Fantastic Mediterranean spot! I've been wanting to try Mazra for SO long now and finally made it out to San Bruno. It was just me and my fiance so I didn't want to order too many things. We got to try: - 6 hour braised lamb shank with pita & 2 sides (hummus & arugula/beet salad): SO tender and flavorful and it went perfectly with the garlic sauce (I need a whole container of that stuff STAT). The hummus and arugula/beet salad were both good and balanced out the heaviness of the lamb. - Chicken shawarma street style wrap: Loved this dish as well!! The chicken wasn't dry at all and I appreciated the addition of fries inside the wrap. Everything in the wrap came together in the perfect bite! The staff was super friendly and the food came out pretty fast. Can't wait to come back to try more items! read more
I ordered family style for table of 4. -Kebab Plate with Baba Ganoush and Garlic-roasted potatoes (Lamb and Beef Kebab) -Garlic Rotisserie Chicken with Fries and Hummus -Falafel Mezza Sampler -Chicken Kebabs I think this was more than enough for party of 4. I think my friends really enjoyed the kebabs, it also comes with rice and some grilled veggies. The rotisserie chicken looked very appealing and tender. The falafel sampler comes with 5 sides but you cannot choose the sides so you wait for the chef to give you some. So I was curious to know what he gives me. Finally when the plate arrived I was big confused by the arrangement as you could see the falafels came in a separate box and sides/salad in different. It took me some time to process together that they were together. On one hand where I loved the falafels, freshly fried and full of flavors, the sides were not really that great for my choice. The major portion of sides were Arugula and Beat salad, and tabbouleh salad. It also came with 2 dolmas, hummus and maybe the other sauce was tzaiki. All the dishes came with a pita which was good too. From the sides perspective, I think they could be more flavorful. I always look forward to Baba Ganoush, but it was average. Conclusion: Entress - Awesome, sides - Average. Mazra is a very busy place or at least for the Friday evening. We arrived at 7:20 pm and the places stops serving at 8:00 pm. You place the order and get your food served at the table and then they let you sit there till 9:00 pm before shutting down the place. I recommend eating family style here so you can try more options. We wanted to get a 6-hour lamb shank plate but they were already out of it. So if you want to try that, suggestion is to go early. read more
After reading so many positive Yelp reviews and then listening a coworker give glowing testimony I decided to give it a try. First thing I wanted to eat Shawarma. Just like the Avengers did during the end credit scene. It was quite decent. Big surprise: it came with fries (in it). Oh yeah. I gobbled it up like a losing contestant back from Survivor Island. Although it was quite large, it was so good I believed I could have eaten two. Maybe next time I will. But it will be in the dark to hide my shame. A tip of the cap the young man at the counter. This hidden gem in San Bruno where if you stay too long you may find your car blocked off from the overflow of cars that this establishment creates. The Mediterranean flavors are on point and the portions are definitely shareable unless you are super Hangry. The walkup order counter displays the super colorful and fresh sides of hummus, baba ganoush, tzatziki, cucumber salad as these options are available as extras or part of your entrees. Shared the following: Roasted Chicken- this half roasted tender well seasoned plump bird is nicely placed over a bed of yellow rice was juicy on the inside and had slightly crisp skin on the outside. If this was a Costco rotisserie chicken it would be sold out in minutes. Braised Lamb Shank- must have! tender, falling off the bone goodness with minimal fat & gristle this piece of all lamb flavor with hints of middle eastern spices pairs so well with the rice and hummus as you blanket each bite with a pillowy pita. Time for a revisit, but this time we decided to eat in. Ordered the Double kebab plate - chicken and lamb. Both meats were juicy and flavorful, and served with plenty of rice as well as two sides. Fries arrived hot and crispy and their tzatziki is great with the fluffy pita. Also ordered the Falafel Mezze sampler. The falafels were hot and crispy - not dry at all. The vegetables were all very refreshing, especially after meat-heavy meals during the holidays. Also came with a hot, fluffy pita which just completes the meal. Plenty of food to share and we even had some to take home. There's also self serve hot tea which was great way to warm up on the cold, rainy day. Before realizing they had free hot tea, I also bought the Tahitian Vanilla Oat Milk Latte. Sooo good! read more
4.5 stars - really solid Middle Eastern food! I had the falafel plate, which is a good way to try out all the sides. Everything was good but not differentiated vs other Middle Eastern places. I probably could've used another piece of pita. Overall I enjoyed my meal. My partner had the kebab plate (lamb + beef skewers) and that looked soooo delectable. It's not a cheap meal at ~$17/plate but the grilled meats were delicious. Overall a good experience and I would stop by if I were in the area. The cashier was super friendly and helpful, I loved the music (mainstream R&B/rap like Drake, Frank Ocean), and the outdoor setup was great. Parking in the front lot is tight, but there's a lot of street parking (& I think a back lot). read more
If you are around the San Francisco airport, and looking for a quick delicious meal, look no further! We ordered the street fried, hummus with pita, chicken shawarma wrap, and hummus wrap. Everything was delicious and flavorful, except the pita. They also have complimentary tea- must try. They follow the order first approach-- you place your order, get the table you want, and your food arrives at the counter. There is self service station for cutlery, napkins, water etc. read more

I love everything about Mazra, the service, the food, the authenticity. My favorite is always the salmon that they grill on the charcoal and all of their sides! My husband is Lebanese and feels like he's eating his mom's home cooking and I would agree! The icing on the cake is their awesome merch. read more

This place has plenty of parking in the back and the service is prompt, and they They call your name when your food is ready for to go. I tried their beef and lamb kabob and it was decent. The beef one was very dry and the lam one was 7 stars out of ten. I felt that both were a bit dry and needed more flavor. I tried their hummus which was good and their cucumber yogurt which cut through the plain tasting rice. I felt the portion was okay and overall it was a solid place and 3 stars is Yelp's way of saying solid! read more

So There's been a buzz about Mazra and while I will go on the record saying this IS the best Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurant in the Greater San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose Bay Area, although I do have a few minor issues, I know that I will be ordering here again. Also, I strongly advise you eat your dish with a small glass of Ouzo (Metaxa) on ice. Pro's: I ordered the double kebab, double, meaning a plate with two types of proteins (lamb, chicken, shrimp or beef) which comes with a long grain rice, stewed cherry tomato, and some toum (crushed garlic/olive oil/lemon in a thick white dip) & hot sauce with a pita. All taste pretty darned good (w/minor issues, see my cons section). Also, the sides were diced cucumber salad and hummus: both perfect. The flavors of the beef and lamb were perfect. Dip that in the toum and you're close to being in heaven. Cons: Just two: the toum is too lemony and the garlic flavor is this too "lemonized." To me, the only purpose lemon has in toum is to act as a preservative; not be the major attraction. I prefer more garlicky toum so, to me, because I prefer a stronger garlic flavor, I've had better where you do not taste the lemon at all and the garlic flavor really pops. I saw that Mazra was ranked #2 on Yelp's Top 100 restaurants list this year and it's easy to see why. The food here is absolutely delicious! We tried the double kebab plate (beef and lamb) with sides of baba ghanoush and tabbouleh salad ($18), as well as an order of Kibbeh ($8). We've never had Kibbeh before, which is a beef/lamb croquette made with bulgur, pine nuts, minced onion, and spices, and really enjoyed it. For the plate, the kebabs were wood-fired, so they had a delicious smoky flavor and were well-seasoned without being too dry. They paired super well with this garlic sauce that came with it. I really enjoyed all the wood-fired veggies and everything that came in the plate. The sides of baba ghanoush and tabbouleh salad also both tasted fresh and were refreshing to eat. The food here is cooked / seasoned so well and paired with great sauces. I loved the flavor and would definitely come back again. As a plus, you can order a la carte once you get there or order online for pickup and then seat yourself to eat. The ambience is nice so you can treat yourself to a convenient and enjoyable meal! read more

The shawarma was the worst, no flavor, dry. The lamb kebab was dry, tough, and charred. Shrimp kebab was the only thing made well. Lamb chops were small, dry, no flavor. Each plate came with an excessive amount of yellow rice. For sides, hummus and salads were all good. Others were ok. The pita bread was fresh. Anything cooked, including veggies, had some char on it. I feel like I'm going to get cancer from all the char I don't understand how this is a 5 star restaurant. You are not getting value, it's not super cheap for what you get. I've been to hole in the wall Mediterranean places that are cheaper with better food. Maybe it was an off day or they did not have their usual chef because nothing was cooked well. I can do a better job lol. My parents are not picky eaters but even they did not enjoy the meal Order then seat yourself. They will bring the food out. Get your own water. Service was good. They bring out heaters for each table seated outside. Seating is available indoors and outdoors. Parking is not easy. They have a small lot in the front and back. Check both. Otherwise, park in the residential. Yum! Definitely felt like more of a diamond in the rough. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Order at the counter, they bring food to your table. No frills tasty grilled meat with great dips/ sides (really loved the baba ghanoush) 2 kebabs + pita and sides for $18 Best to worst: - SHRIMP (YAY) perfectly charred, fresh - PITA (YAY) plush and thick - BABA GHANOUSH (YAY) super Smokey and tasty - TZATZIKI (good): a little thick but tasty nonetheless - arugula and beet salad (ok): nothing special here but healthy - OLIVES (ok): nothing to write home about - CHICKEN, LAMB: S.O. YA'LL!!!!! This place left me so damn speechless. Quality top notch food!!! Used to be an old local grocery store now turned into a cute lil restaurant in the cuts of San Bruno. Came on a Friday night with my fam, music was vibin (r&b the whole time), outdoor/indoor seating, amazing staff, pay for food a pick out your seat.... Just about everything you look for in a restaurant for a cute but not too fancy dinner. My family of 8 ordered a sh*t ton of food. Everything was packed with so much flavor. When I tell you that they put love into their food, they really do! My family and I couldn't stop raving about how delicious the food was. "Mmmmm" and "omgggg this is so good" was the only thing you heard throughout dinner. I don't even think we talked about anything else throughout dinner to be honest haha. Everything was so good but the 6 hour slow roasted lamb shank stole the whole show!! I will never stop coming here. And I will definitely come back for more. I have recently visited the middle east. I can with great confidence say the food here matches up to many flavors and dishes from the origin countries. The service is acceptable, its was very busy but we were seated fairly quickly. The on the house tea and coffee is really a great addition. Came by for dinner the other night and it was a smokey experience with a live show! Street parking was plentiful and easy to find. The outdoor section in front of the kitchen was a smokey experience. The front entrance drive-thru was beyond packed with double-parking, cars constantly going in and out...saw my share of near misses during my dining experience. The restaurant appears to be doing a ton of take out. There was signage to order first at the counter and then the food will be brought to the table. There was also a staff member that appears to be a host/busser/waiter at the same time which was confusing?!? The food itself was okay. Requested the double kabobs medium rare and was told they don't take requests?!? The lamb kabob came out well done like a rock. The ground beef kabob was decent though. I went here on a Saturday for lunch and it was packed! I loved everything that I got from here. The shawarma beef plate I got had so much flavor and the meat was tender. I also really enjoyed the refreshing cantaloupe pineapple drink. The roasted cauliflower was unique and tasty, I highly recommend it if it's your first time coming here. It is very big though even for two people, so be ready to eat it for dinner as well. The hummus, baba ganoush and the tzatziki were also delicious as well. This place is fantastic. Parking first. If there is none in the front, there is a small lot in the back. And when you pull up, you see everything being grilled. The smell is intoxicating. I just know the neighbors are enticed. The service was what brought this to 5 stars. Everyone was so nice and hospitable. The food was delicious. Those lamb chops.. goodness gracious. I'm not even a huge fan of lamb (can be gamey), but these are total juicy hunks of lamb, so perfectly salted, on a bed of this yellow rice that simmers with the taste of the grill. Incredible! Their hummus is also good (liked it more than the too-smokey babaganoush), and their baklava is a little too sweet but good. But those lamb chops are the must. 5 stars!!!! read more
