I bought a "modern classic SL" (R129) a few months back, and one of my friends who's also a car-guy and long-time Mercedes owner recommended Byron. On the first visit, I took it in with a long list of items that needed attention and within a week he had knocked it all out. This week I had my second visit where I gave him list of general preventive-maintenance items to do, so I would have a reference point of all possible remaining services having been done to the car, as I plan to keep the car a long time and didn't know the car's history. Mercedes Benz of Beverly Hills took my car in for a recall and performed the bare minimum service while also creating a couple new problems with their careless approach. Byron quickly diagnosed my problems, charged me 75% less than the dealer wanted to fix the problems they themselves created, and had the car back to me in half the time. MB auto on pico and La Cienega is the place to go if you have a Mercedes, BMW, Porsche or any German made car. Byron sold me 15 years ago a 2000 Mercedes and it has today 202,000 miles on it.It's that time of year again for the smog and tags so I needed to get it serviced. So a couple sensors full service later my car is running like a champ champ!! Elsie is a huge help at the front where she answers the phones for repairs and they also have a U-Haul service there. So if you're moving you can always use the U-Haul service at his place which is very convenient. Byron is fair honest and an all Ron great guy Elsie is the sweetest lady you'll ever want to meet. This is a review for the Uhaul services. I made a reservation for 08:30AM and did not get my truck until 09:30AM . We got there right when they opened and they said their system was down, however, I suggested paper contracts and they didn't have it. I asked if they could just take down my information so I didn't waste my time while I had movers, but they didn't not agree. Then after a half hour, they agreed to take my information down so I could get the truck. There should be protocols for when the system is down. This shouldn't be a reason to delay someone's truck. ALSO I had to return the truck before they closed overall losing time from my original reservation time. I asked for a refund and the owner declined. I also contacted Uhaul and they did not offer any refund either. Getting a truck when you selected the electronic approval should not ever take that long. I did all the screening through my phone ahead of time to avoid a long wait time and it did nothing. Rent elsewhere! read more

I'm so grateful that I accidentally stumbled into MB Auto Services about 3 years ago. This shop had little on yelp, no website, and a very humble looking exterior. Needless to say, I was a bit nervous at handing over the keys but thank God I did. Byron (the owner and head mechanic) is honest, kind, and really puts so much passion into his work. Honest and fair. I was so blessed to have found Byron and I don't think I'll take my car to anyone else. My clutch gave out on my way to work while I was driving on Olympic. I managed to get my car onto Pico (knowing all of the service shops in the area) and happened to roll right into Bryon's. He was such a pleasure. He got my car up and looked at it to tell me what was going on right away. He didn't try to upsell me on anything (and trust me, the car could use some other work). These guys are the worst. I rented a uhaul from them with a broken gas meter, I discovered this when I went to refill and realized it cost over $40 to fill the tank. I had only driven 10 miles. The person running the place was super defensive and aggressive when I told him the situation. He was even coaxing me on when I told I would have to take my only recourse and complain to uhaul. "Do it, Do it!" He dared, knowing nothing could be done. Based on his reaction I think they are running a gas scam. He was hardly surprised by my complaint, nor cared that the uhaul van needed to be fixed. I can't imagine having them work on my car. read more

My brother recommended Byron @ MB Auto Services... he lives basically across the street from the place and has bringing his car there for about 5 years. He was always raving about Byron and how he is the most reliable and honest mechanic in Los Angeles and after having a run of bad luck with dishonest and terrible mechanics, I took his advice and brought my car here. As long as I live in this city, I will never go to another mechanic. When two other mechanics are trying to get you to have your breaks changed, he will tell you, "come back to me in 6,000 miles... your breaks are still good", unless of course you actually need them. He'll even go as far as telling you how to fix your car... I'm no expert when it comes to my engine so although he told me what needed to be done, I told him when the time comes he'll be the one to work on it. These people are awesome! I've been going to MB Auto for several years, since about 2006. Byron's honest, professional, and quick. As a single woman, I've always felt comfortable bringing my car to him for repairs. He's always been supremely helpful and has even done several quick things to my car for FREE. He's great like that.And I've actually had him refer me to other spots if he thought that I could get a repair elsewhere for a cheaper price. I don't know any other mechanic that does that. If I could give this place no stars, I would. I rented a Uhaul van here for two hours, and was forced to pay for another entire day, plus insurance because I returned it 15 minutes late. Apparently they closed shop right when my van was due back but I was not warned beforehand and I didn't think that they were going to close at 1:00PM in THE AFTERNOON. When I tried to return the van, the bodyshop doors were locked and someone then called me to inform me that I would be charged for an extra day, after they had closed the shop and left for the day. When I asked if I could at least not pay for insurance on the second day because I no longer had use for the van and was not going to drive it, they said no I had to. When I asked why, they said 'that's just the way it is.' Also, even after I agreed to pay for an extra day, the person from the shop kept on lecturing me about how I shouldn't return things late. I'm also going to complain to UHAUL and tell them how incompetent this place is. I never complain/rate any business online, but I had such a horrible experience I felt like I needed to warn other people about this place. read more

I have took my car here from a referral from a friend. The service was really fast and they event accepted the tow truck to drop off my car after hours. They fixed it the same day. A while after my car wouldn't start again and AAA was going to charge me $300 to tow it to their shop. Byron drove down himself to my house and replaced a fuse that had blown from my iphone charger! I was so happy with Byron. He is very honest, friendly and up front. I am a female and often feel uncomfortable when I need auto work done, but Byron took a lot of time to explain things to me so I would understand and feel comfortable.
