I've been here a couple of times, and while the food is good and the service decent, be aware that they add a 2.75% processing fee for credit card payments. By the way, this rate is higher than most credit card merchant fees. As a business owner myself, I view credit card fees as a standard cost of doing business, not something to pass on to customers. This is the first restaurant I've encountered that penalizes customers for using a credit card, and in my opinion, it's a poor business practice. read more

We sat outside in their dog friendly bar/patio area. We brought our pup :) We ordered: -clam pot - SO GOOD for only $9. It was so good, I ordered it twice. If you like clams, I highly recommend -mahi mahi tacos - this one is ok, I think it's basic -tempura roll - not my favorite. Too much rice -bacon wrapped prawns -yes! Get this!! -hot chicken sandwich - I didn't like it but my husband did. The sauce is very like-it-or-not. The chicken is moist and not dry -burger - yes!! Get this, super juicy and huge. We made it just in time for Happy Hour, which is 3-6pm. We sat at the bar top so we didn't have to wait for a table. it wasn't that crowded at 6pm, but throughout the night, more parties came in, but it wasn't loud or anything. I normally don't mind having to wait a bit for my drinks or food, but the wait here was particularly long. We had to ask a passing server to give us our complimentary bread. They were apologetic and gave us freshly baked bread. Let me tell you, that sourdough bread was sooooo good, I swear I could have just eaten that all night with my drink lol We ordered mostly Happy Hour menus, calamari, fries, tacos and a slider, and sadly it took wayyy too long to get to us, literally pass 30+ minutes. I got an ad in the mail and decided to come here on a whim for happy hour. Wow, such friendly service and huge portions! Being in LA I'm used to the tiniest happy hour portions but here they give you what feels like a regular portion and then some. We ordered several seafood items, ranging from coconut shrimp to sushi rolls to tacos and other Mexican inspired appetizers. All of the seafood was fresh and bountiful. Sitting at the bar, I wasn't expecting much service but one or two guys behind there were hustling and providing amazing service. They even have us free sourdough bread which was piping hot and heavenly. The inside bar and main dining room are gorgeous and feel luxurious, and at sunset the light peeks through and gives the whole space an ethereal glow. I'm used to having to order extra bc of small HH portions but we actually were stuffed and had to take much of it home. The entrees look great too, and they have daily specials to save some cash. Love that they make their desserts in house too. The food here feels just well made with care. Doesn't feel like a "mall restaurant" though it's attached to the Del Amo center. A group of us came in to try out their happy hour and enjoyed the variety of the menu items but some dishes were definitely better than others. We ordered the mahi mahi tacos, dragon roll, crab and shrimp flaunts, mussels, lobster cakes, and the clams to share between us all. The mahi mahi tacos were a huge portion and I loved the sauce that came on the side which had a spicy kick to it. The clams and mussels used a garlic broth which was a nice addition to our meal but some bites didn't taste super fresh. I think I'd skip out on the dragon roll as it kinda tasted like one you'd get to go from a grocery store. I have walked by MB grille a number of times on my way to do shopping at the Del Amo mall and have long admired the cute decor. The patio has large booth and table seating with decorated tile and the entire restaurant is beautiful. My partner and I came for the wonderful happy hour deals and were not disappointed. The happy hour menu is large with dishes and drinks ranging from 7-11 dollars. We also signed up for texts to receive a free $8 appetizer which was a pleasant surprise. After we ordered, we also got complimentary sourdough bread which was fresh, fluffy and not too sour- just as I like it! We ordered the beets, shrimp flautas and Nashville fried chicken sandwich. The Nashville fried chicken sandwich was huge and the chicken was fresh and crispy. The fries that came along with it were very good as well. The beet salad was nice and refreshing. The shrimp flautas were recommended by the waiter and they were similar to eggrolls but less crisp. I would recommend all these dishes! The service was very slow. Our food took around 30 min to get, and our waiter told us the kitchen was "backed up". We were sitting in the corner and I think our waiter left or went on a break because I never saw him again. We also had to call someone over to refill our waters and get our bill because we had been finished with our food for a while and hadn't seen him. While the service was very slow and they didn't seem to be very attentive, everyone we interacted with was very kind and welcoming. read more

Came on a Saturday, mid afternoon time frame. We were immediately seated, given some water and bread. Ordered the traditional calamari, my mom ordered the salmon bowl, I got the skinny surf and turf plate and my partner ordered the smoked trout. Really nice set up inside, high ceilings and fun upscale nautical decor. All of our food was delicious but unfortunately something happened with their ticketing system and my partner's plate came when my mom and I were 3/4 way done with our plates and then they did slightly mess up his order, it was fixed but again it wasn't too busy when we came. I was so sad to see EMC Seafood & Raw Bar close! We were patiently waiting to see what would replace it. When we found out it was going to be a seafood place, we wanted to give it a try. I attempted to eat a second one and pulled out a long slimy unpleasant stringy thing from my mouth. Hubby was kind of shocked! I told him I couldn't eat another one and that I was going to send it back. I have NEVER ever sent back an oyster! Our server apologized and asked if we'd like them to bring a new set out. I declined. They removed it from the bill. That was a super bad batch of oysters. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth! The manager did come to talk with us and apologize. We ordered a cup of Clam Chowder which never arrived. It wasn't until we had started eating our entrées that hubby remembered. We informed our waiter and we said we didn't want it because we were past that part of the meal and we realized we had plenty of food. He offered to send us home with it, but we declined. Hubby thought his Creole Jambalaya with Linguini was bland. The toast that came with it was hard to eat, seemed like it had been microwaved. I ate all of my Sizzling Sea Bass (Chilean Sea Bass). It came sizzling, as the name says it should! I enjoyed dipping the fish & asparagus in the Lemon Butter. The potatoes were really good! This dish was the best out of everything I tasted. We ended our meal with a Crème Brûlée. The little Macadamia Nut Biscotti had an odd flavor, almost savory. Hubby didn't like them. We left those on the plate. So, this dinner was more of a miss than a hit. As always, I enjoyed the company of my husband! Too bad the food was so-so. We got to experience MB grille on a Monday (yesterday) in the afternoon time during happy hour. The place is very nice on the inside, very clean, and cute looking. Every employee that took care of us were super nice and friendly and attentive. It was just starting to get a little busy around that time and we sat down at a table where Nessa was our server. We have nothing but great things to say about her, she was so funny, nice, attentive and made excellent recommendations. All that being said the food was just .. pretty good. Our items did come out pretty fast and I would like to try it again in the future in case maybe it was just a slight off day. We were given sourdough dough bread which was so crispy and delicious. My roommate had the artichoke which she liked but nothing to write home about. We also had the oysters which were nice and fresh. The clam chowder my roommate thought, was also pretty good. We also had a crab cake slider, and idk why it bothers me that it just comes w one and a side of fries but that just my deal lol. We had some Parmesan truffle fries to snack on which were really yummy. Great place for happy hour! They have lots of options on their happy hour menu. You can't go wrong there are price points to help you decide in case you're on a budget. From sushi to burgers there something for everyone. Had a great time eating here with my friends. The food at this seafood restaurant is about average. You'll find similar quality at the many fast casual seafood restaurants like BlueSalt. The atmosphere and decor are definitely a bit better quality if you are trying to have a nice dinner out. What I did have to take several stars away in my review is for their business practices. When I ate there a few months ago, they attached to the bill an "employee benefit" fee without telling us. We noticed it and asked what it is for. They said it was to help pay for health care for their employees. If they want to do that,(which is admirable to take care of their employees), they should just add it to the price of the food. Don't try to slip it in when they give us the bill. We had them remove it, and tipped at our discretion 20% because the service is always good. The final bad act that they now put on their customers is to add a 2.75% fee for using a credit card to pay for your meal. Our dinner that night ended up costing about $200. One would think that is a pretty good earning for a single table, and not many people carry that kind of cash, so why penalize a customer for using a credit card when I cannot think of any other eating establishment that does that. So we will not ever dine again at MB Grille. read more

Came here on a Saturday during lunch with a 3 month old along with my friend and her 2 year old. The chair couldn't fit her car seat so the waiter said it was fine to leave her in the stroller next to me (when we first sat down he said the stroller wasn't allowed at the table because of a fire hazard). Came here for the first time for happy hour and I think it's safe to say this is the best happy hour in Torrance. The menu offers many options at different prices and everything is great. We got charbroiled oysters, sweet & spicy calamari, coconut shrimp, fire roasted artichokes, and butter cake. Everything was fresh and delicious. I just wish the calamari didn't have so many tiny pieces of cilantro which made it difficult to pick out. Our server was very nice and patient with our indecision. Food came out in a reasonable time. So flavorful and stuffed really well. (And our waiter told us they were his favorite too) The calamari and bbq bacon wrapped prawns were also amazing, I would order those again as well.
