Normally I like the food at McAlister's Deli. But recently I've noticed a change in the food and atmosphere which has limited my visits to once very 2 months or so. The food taste stale and old as if it is sitting under a heat lamp. While most of the employees are friendly, there are a few that are annoying to point of being unpleasant. McAlister's Deli offers free wifi and I use to enjoy taking advantage of it while eating good food. I don't enjoy employees peaking over my shoulder and staring at my laptop. What I do on my laptop is none of their business and they need to stick to the task they get paid to do. Because of all of this, I cannot recommend McAlister's Deli anymore. read more

Make sure Everything is in the bag of your to go order. I have ordered to go out of this location a few times and they have always given me everything that was ordered. Yesterday went and didn't check, so guess my fault I ordered the pot roast spud, I get home the gravy was not there, the meat was dry, the carrots were hard. My guess the gravy would at least not make the meat taste dry. Was my 1st time ordering this item and was excited to try and had a picture in my head that it was going to be the best thing ever!! :( Fail!! Not sure if the managment is new or the staff. Did order 2 other spuds and both of those had the sour cream missing. Found McAlister's on Yelp. GF not feeling well but finally able to eat again and wanted a baked potato. The online menu looked tempting. As reviewed elsewhere the Tea was great and the staff was friendly and outgoing. The potatoes themselves were well cooked and fluffy but the Bacon potato had a handfull of bacon crumbles and some nondescript cheese melted on top. Otherwise it was dry and boring. No butter that I saw or sour cream. The Max (or whatever) was similar, more topping but not "max" and it was also surprisingly dry. It was all "good," just not what one expects from fancy baked potatoes. There was a nice selection of sandwiches. I wish I had tried that instead. This is my favorite place to go to dinner with my wife when we need a nice quiet place to eat and talk. Whenever we feel like we're behind on life and we need to catch up, we go to McAlister's for dinner. The food is good, the people are great and the iced tea is unmatched. I go to school in the highlands and go to this location about once a week well the last couple of times I have gone it has been horrible. The employees were having a full "life talk" in front of me about their personal lives. I order the same thing every time a grilled chicken Caesar salad with extra dressing well half the time they don't even remember they extra dressing and lately it seems like I'm getting less and less chicken. Today I went and got my order I watched two door dashers have to sit and wait for their orders, then when mine came out they didn't even toss the salad just threw lettuce in a ton of parmesan and about 5 slices of chicken. After visiting this location consistently over the past few years, I have to give McAlister's another star. I originally had an issue with service being very inconsistent. The management has been very responsive about this issue and have worked on improving the customer service. The last 4-5 times I visited McAlister's, the employees have been nothing but friendly and helpful. I was impressed by how much they stepped up and now think of this location as a go-to place for a satisfying lunch. In addition to the service, I spent time trying different items on the menu in order to expand my thoughts on the menu. Portion sizes aren't very big, but the spuds and salads definitely give the most bang for your buck. I haven't had any issue with an item ordered from the menu, but when in doubt, always ask for certain ingredients on the side. That way, you can add the amount in that is right to you. A few things to note about menu items: - The peach sweet tea (or regular) here is excellent, especially with two lemons. I believe the huge drink is only about $2.70 with unlimited refills. I usually drink an entire container and grab a refill on the way out the door - The chipotle ranch for salads (a nice thick ranch with a small twisty kick). - All sandwiches come with a dill pickle spear - Each menu item has the ability to be customized to the way you want it. Online or phone-in ordering is also available at this location, which saves you about 30+ minutes during the lunch rush (do not recommend coming for lunch if you're looking for something quick). The register on the far right is specified for to-go orders, which usually saves you a wicked amount of time. The website has been having some glitches during online ordering, but if it's an option for you, I highly recommend ordering online than in store. You save time, and there are several more options and additions that you can do to your meal (that they don't have time to tell you about at the register!) read more

I come here often before work to grab a quick meal, the food is always great and the service is always awesome. I wanted to make this review to compliment the staff. One of the FOH staff, Jenny, was so sweet and helpful to everyone dining inside. The manager as well, I'm sorry I didn't catch his name, was fantastic as well. Everyone working seemed to be in a cheerful, optimistic mood and they went above and beyond for the guests. Love their sandwich selections! You can't go wrong with any selection. My favorite is the Reuben. Really can't go wrong there. The mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese are also good. Ok, my favorite thing to eat lately here is the french dip sandwich (ordered EXTRA hot otherwise it is more lukewarm) with a side of mac n cheese and a lemonade (summer is here and I can't keep eating like this). It does get crowded here and there is usually a line to order but my food comes out fast and they bring it to my table. Which I like. I don't like having to serve myself. I placed my to go order and waited 25 min for what should have been an easy order. I requested no mustard or mayo on one of the sandwiches due to allergies (and stated as such). Was this short girl (employee) pouring pink lemonade to the container in the counter with the manager "Mathew" by her side she spilled most on the lemonade in herself and the counter in front of her and this asshole never help her. Went to have lunch at McAlisters today. The sandwich was pretty good, I loved the cookie and our server was great. After we were done I went to hand the girl who served us 3 dollars for good service. I was informed she could not take the tip. When we were leaving I noticed a tip jar. I asked the cashier why they have a tip jar if I could not leave my server a tip? The tips are divided by the managers and the servers got nothing. How very sad that McAlisters lets the managers take tips that don't belong to them, while the kids working as servers get just whatever they make hourly. Based on that I will never go back, I can just go to another sandwich place like two doors down and not worry about the pathetic managers stealing from the ones who do the most work. How pitiful! I loved McAlister's. I took my mom here before because I wanted her to have a taste of one of my favorite restaurants. The last time I went was different though. I haven't been in McAlister's as often as I like since I was in nursing school so I saw a couple of new faces in the front. The girls that took my order back then weren't there anymore, which makes sense because companies usually hire new people and that's never a problem, except these 3 or 4 new girls just were rude. A group of us (7) came in after wedding dress shopping so we were hungryyyyyy. It was still 8:45ish so NO WHERE near closing. We took our times glancing thru the menu up front because some people in my group have never been to McAlisters. Welllllllll the Asian girl in the front seemed to be annoyed that every time she said "I can take who's next", we would say "oh we're still looking :)". After deciding on what to order, we didn't get a greeting like "how are you?" Or "may I help you with anything?", instead we literally got a "what do you want?" LIKE OKAY GIRLLLLL DONT GET AN ATTITUDE So the whole time we were ordering, not one single smile, not one single thank you, and not one single you're welcome. I work in the food industry so I know how it is. But even on my bad days, I still smile and fake it. I've worked coming straight from an exam with only 2 hrs of sleep that night before and still try to make an effort to make the customers feel welcome. I'm a firm believer that customer service can ruin someone meal. There was only one girl I kinda didn't mind and I didn't get names but the homegirl who took my order was Asian. I gave this place 3 stars because I absolutely love the food, but if it wasn't for that, I would of gave it 1 star. Biggest advice is to just teach them to smile. :) read more

So I gave this place a second chance and this time it was much better!!!! I ordered a stuffed potato and it was delish.

I've been back a number of times and I always get one of the "Giant Spuds" (loaded/stuffed baked potato). Now, though, I eat half and save the other half for later. That works out much better than trying to eat the whole thing in one sitting! hahaha Service is always fast and friendly.
