McAlister's does have good sweet tea... I'll give them that. I'm just not that big of a fan of their foods. It used to taste ok to me, and then one day I ordered a baked potato with grilled chicken on it. Their potatoes are pretty good - they are huge and they load them up with yummy goodness of all types: cheese, chili, bacon, sour cream, etc. The grilled chicken... disgusting. It isn't a regular chicken breast, but some over-processed weird schtuff with a gross taste and rubbery texture. Ever since having the gross chicken, I have been really turned off by the place altogether. The rest of the menu isn't bad, but I've never had a stand-out meal there that makes me crave an encore performance. I enjoyed Mcalisters! The one thing that I did not enjoy was the long line to get served, but once you have your food it is great. A lovely place to sit down, eat and talk with friends and family. We order from McAlister's a few times a month and literally every time something is wrong. It's anything from the wrong drinks being given to us, to dressings not included, or whole items being missing. The management is always apologetic but seriously how do they mess up every time? Clearly the management needs to be checking the orders since their staff can't get it right. read more

Everybody in here seems air headed except one. I was trying to give another tip and ask the girl could I take money off my card to do so to tip her. We had dinner here tonight (12/3/14). We had been to this location a few years ago, and they have made updates to this location. It is really nice and upscale. The girl who took our order was super nice. She offered us punch cards for meals and teas. Told us about there reusable cup when we asked. She was very personable. We ordered sandwiches and potatoes which where good. I love the pickle and peppers bar. The sweet tea was not as sweet in my opinion, but I do like my tea to give my a diabetic sugar rush. If I was diabetic. I did notice that no one was walking around asking about drink refills or did we need anything. Has this service been stopped? I hope not. My Dad and I tried to come eat at the McAllisters Deli on 116th Street in fishers this afternoon. I pulled into the parking lot and went around the lot 2 times. There were no parking spots, so my dad and I went to the Mcallisters Deli at Hamilton Town Center. I pulled in the parking lot at McAllister at Hamilton Town Center and I pulled right into a parking spot and didn't even have to wait when we got inside. The Mcallisters Deli on 116th Street in Fishers needs to do something about their parking lot or you are fixing to loose business. McAllister Deli at Hamilton Town Center is much nicer and much bigger. read more

The food is great, the manager isn't. We placed a $300+ order with a generous tip as well. When we called to ask about the missing food, the "manager" said "that isn't our problem" and hung up on us. Stopped in today for a refill on the $10 refillable McAlisters cup. 4-5 people working behind the counter. Not too busy. 2 people in line to place orders. I went to the drink station where refills are normally done. Was ignored by 2-3 workers. Waited. Was still ignored. Went to the other drink station. Ignored again. Finally went back to get in line behind the one customer who was ordering. The order taker waved me back down to the drink station. The manager refused to refill my glass. He told me to get back in line. I replied that I was in line and was waved back to the drink station - can't you just get my refill? The manager said No, you got out of line and now you need to get back in line. I couldn't believe that after all this shifting me around that I couldn't get a refill. Btw: there was no one in line and at least 6 people working behind the counter. I gave up and told the young manager that I would drive to another McAlisters for a refill. He actually said: That's fine. I will NEVER spend any more money at this McAlisters location. I'm a long time customer but the terrible way I was treated today did it for me. This young man who claims to be a manager needs to be replaced. He possesses no common sense or customer service skills. I'm sure I'm not the first customer he has been nasty to. read more

This is my "go to" spot for a "nice" lunch. Whether it be for work, for meeting up with a friend - whatever - it's a great place to eat and have options that aren't submersed in grease. I typically go for the BLT - ha. Crazy choice, I know. But, the BLT comes with your choice of a side and I typically go with the fruit cup. Fresh, delicious meal. If you're wanting to go during lunch, prepare for long lines and a full house. To any consumer, that's a sign of good business, though - am I right? There are McAlister's Delis all over the area. All. Over. It's not the cheapest lunch, but it's definitely worth the extra couple of bucks to fulfill your appetite. This review is regarding a recent catering order I placed. First, I will say the food was fresh and good, and it was well packed and had everything I needed. My problem is with the pricing. I was having lunch for 4 toddlers, a baby and 3 moms. I wanted a deli tray, chips and a fruit tray and some drinks. I was detailed about this when I placed the order. For this order, I was charged $108. I could have provided a much more upscale spread with a lot more food for that price. I DID NOT ask about pricing, so that's my fault. I figured what I wanted would be 50-60 dollars at the most. The catering menu doesn't include pricing. At pick up, they were super nice and helpful. When I saw the price I had been charged, I was upset. But at that point, my guests were coming in an hour, so I had little choice but to suck it up. The guests liked it. The food is great. The restaurant is set up well for Covid 19 and there is outside eating as well. My concern was of the six staff members behind the counter, only three had their masks on correctly. Two had them down below their nose and one had the mask on his chin. Makes me wonder how the cooks have their masks, given you can't see them. read more

116th St. in Fishers, IN It seems like when I order Chicken and Dumplings soup I get mostly soup with one or two dumplings. Always ae to either tell them when ordering (and sometimes that doesn't work) to make sure to add the dumplings. Last night (the final straw) I order 4 chicken and dumplings and 2 French onion soup to go. Checked the bag. Had 6 chicken and dumplings. 3 had the 2 to 3 dumplings each the other 3 were just soup. Told the waiter to fix one and exchange the other two for the French onion. Upon receiving my order again, I asked how they missed the 2 French onion soup. Was told that the cook did not know what French Onion soup was. I'm really not sure if the cook might not had added some else the soups. No way to tell. Drought if I will go back to Fishers. It's a chain, so compared to someplace like Shapiro's it in a different league. But there are some things that make it worth a stop, especially for a quick lunch or grab-and-go meal. My daughter tells me the sweet tea is fabulous, and she's picky about her teas. My personal meal favorite is the muffuletta, which is really four sandwiches in one. I buy the full sandwich (huge, but 1/2 and 1/4 are also available), and take most of it home to eat for several lunches later in the week. It's like a gourmet ham, cheese, and bologna sandwich, with an olive and olive oil spread on a crusty roll. Very yummy. The side of mac and cheese is white cheddar and really good, as are the giant spuds, available with a variety of toppings. My son's fave is the Pot Roast Classic, and my husband likes their grilled chicken caesar wrap, although he's bummed they replaced their flax wraps with wheat ones. We asked a manager about it, and he said hardly anybody ordered the flax wraps so they discontinued them. Too bad, as they were a great low-carb alternative. Check out the menu online first before you go, because it's a little overwhelming if you just walk in and try to absorb it all, especially if there are three people at the counter waiting to serve you, as there almost always are except during mealtime rush. Service is usually very friendly, although every once in awhile I've had someone who's less than helpful -- usually one of their younger staff members who's maybe not fully trained and ready to face their customers.
