I ordered from the Pick 2 menu 1/2 Horseradish Roast Beef and Cheddar sandwich I had the chili for the second item The sandwich had very little meat, could barely taste the horseradish. Bread was tuff, and for being a panini is was cold The chili was a canned. To me it tasted like Chef Mate. Which is good for a canned chili but not what I expected in this day and age when places are making items from fresh. Prices are average. The atmosphere is a basic lunch counter. Kind of noisy. I stopped here for a quick lunch one recent Sunday afternoon. Food here is pretty good. It is deli style food in the vein of a Jason's or Panera. I don't know if I'd seek it out over one of those others, but I didn't have any complaints. I'm not a tea fan, so maybe I'd have a much different view if I was. read more

Never in my life have had to wait so long for a basic chicken salad.Just for it to come out and have no chicken on it I went in for a refund and the manager refused to leave the kitchen to help me then with an open salad told the girl upfront to just throw chicken on it while it was being walked from the front counter to the back counter at least four times.Finally my friend had to step in to get the manager to do what we asked for to begin with which was re-make the salad the way I ordered it poor customer service period I haven't even tasted the salad and I have a bad taste in my mouth.from the establishment 3 hours latae The owner is a great woman and went out her way to fix the issue and Respond to my comment Despite the hassle and the cold chicken, the salad was great which is why I am changing my review from a one star to a five read more

This review is disappointing because over the last couple of months I frequent this location 1-2 times a week. The service has always been friendly and I've never had a problem before so I probably ignored a few things tonight that I shouldn't have when ordering. My wait was unusually long (about 20 minutes on a to-go order, empty restaurant at 8pm) but while my food was being prepared I observed one of the cashiers playing in and braiding another's hair behind the counter. I ignored this because they weren't directly making food but recognized this was probably unsanitary. After finally getting my food to go and arriving home, I'd eaten most of it before finding mold on the bottom bun. I called and was told it may be Gorgonzola. It's possible, but when I googled "moldy ciabatta" it looked pretty similar. I returned to the store and showed them and was offered another sandwich or to be given a refund which I guess is the most they could do anyway. Service has always been nice with good food but now I'm pretty grossed out and probably won't be returning anytime soon. Hopefully they'll check the bread tonight just to be sure! read more

I often think a restaurant should be judged two separate times in order to have a fair and honest review, well I cannot give McAllisters another chance. I ordered the chopped Italian salad because I was told their salads are a good choice. The salad was nothing short of a disappointment. The "fresh veggies" came out of the kitchen with ice crystals all over them. Come on. So I shrug it off and try to enjoy my lunch but I was unable to due to the hair in the bottom of my salad. I KNOW what you're thinking.. "This lady probably has left a million terrible reviews on yelp and I won't let her sway my mind". I have never left a review less than 4 stars on any place! Extremely poor customer service!!! It took 40 minutes to get my food! Once it arrived, I had to take it to go, as my lunch hour was nearly over, and I was out of time with my drive back to work. I called to talk with the Manager and was told "he was too busy to talk,". I could "call back, or stay on hold for an hour!" UNREAL!!! The lady up front was friendly enough, but when we got home, they barely put any chips in the nachos and left my sandwich out of the order. Called in. The manager was very friendly and helpful and offered to remake the sandwich for me. read more

When we dine in at this location we have an okay experience but when we get our order to-go it's not the same. Our order is rarely correct & they consistently add ingredients that we asked to be left off or sometimes we are missing items all together & don't realize till we're at home already. Also, the quality is inconsistent. Received a stale bread bowl in my to-go order tonight & that has happened more often than not. We have been disappointed too many times with this location & wont be returning which is a shame. The manager is very concerned with customers being happy - people have been nice - but I'm done. I just called in to order curbside and was told I had to order online for curbside. EVERY online order I've done is messed up. They do not catch the customizations on the order. So if I cannot call in and make them aware - it's not worth it. This is a consistent review comment if you look through the reviews. Orders just are not correct if you do online. Too bad because the food is so yummy. read more

Stopped by here one day because the line at Wendy's across the street was packed and I wanted a salad. The selection and service are good, and they seem to make everything fresh. I had the Savannah Chopped Salad, which was reasonably good, but there was one major problem: it's not a chopped salad. Either the staff here or the menu creators at headquarters don't realize there should be evenly chopped elements in a chopped salad. This one had diced tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, and large lettuce leaves. On the whole, I prefer the Mixx or Jason's. read more

I have a friend who literally eats at McAlister's at least three times a week. She says it's for their sweet tea. Naturally, I had to visit to see what the hype was all about. I've only had semi-sad experiences at the chain in the past, though the location in Lee's Summit redeemed the franchise for me. This McAlister's is located in the heart of Summit Fair shopping center, which means lots of well-light parking and always an excuse to shop after you chow down. The staff welcomed us and kept us well watered and served during our lunch. As a vegetarian, I was surprised with all the menu offered: veggie chili, tons of salads, a godzilla-sized potato (with or without said veggie chili), soups, sandwiches, etc etc etc. Want something healthy - salad! Want some homey comfort? Loaded Spud. Want cheesy carbs? Super Nachos. Don't forget the warm chocolate chip cookie and cold Arnold Palmer to go with it. I ordered a salad and sandwich (from the menu - they didn't have to make something special for this vegetarian) and was served more than I could finish and thus had dinner waiting for me when I got home. Free, HUGE refills that will keep you hydrated through the apocalypse. The place is super clean, tidy, inviting. Don't mind if I do while I use your free wi-fi all afternoon. They tried to serve it to eat there, didn't include sides that I had asked the kid at the counter REPEATEDLY if he had added to the order and didn't add things to the other item on my order that I had also specifically requested twice. read more

I must admit, I've become a McAlisters convert. I find it so much more satisfying than Panera Bread and the menu is much more diverse. The best part is their children's menu which features items that kids will actually eat and enjoy. I personally like their McAlisters Club which is never overdressed with mustard and the meats taste fresh and are never dry. I also enjoy their soups and cheesy spud. The service is generally timely, usually within five minutes, but they do have their busier times when I've had to wait slightly longer. read more

Visited here for lunch on "Black Friday" and the place was a madhouse. However, the staff was working their tails off and the service was great. The dining room was full of people and I was worried at first we wouldnt even locate a free table, but we got one. I love the iced tea here--always freshly brewed. So this is definitely a chain like sandwich shop. I can only speak to what I ordered which was the horseradish roast beef. So disappointed when it came out. There was maybe two slices of meat and all bread. When I asked if this was really all the meat that comes in this sandwich the girl replied, "Im not sure, I'm not a cook" and proceeded to walk away. We order via Doordash from this location on a regular basis and generally the food is well prepared and packaged. The servings exceed many other similar restaurants. The only fault I can find is they apparently don't always pay attention to the "order instructions/comments" and as a result some things are missed. Pickles left off orders etc. Hubby often comments that the chicken on the salads is in huge pieces so often has to be cut up before eating. All in all great restaurant. read more

I ate here with my sister. Having been to other delis I was a little surprised that this place didn't meet my deli expectations. The coffee was probably one of the worst coffees I have ever thought had. It was very bitter and disappointing. The Reuben was good, but off a bit. The corned beef was too thin and the taste was off a bit, and so was the kraut. The pasta salad side was amazing! I'd come back just for that. The wait staff was good. I just joined Yelp specifically to review this restaurant. I have never written a review before, but I have had enough with the service at this deli. Today I ordered a Spud with cheddar cheese, bacon, and sour cream. I also ordered a child's Spud with ham, cheddar cheese, and sour cream...all To Go. I got home with a Spud with cheddar cheese, bacon, and chili. The child's Spud had only ham on it. Neither came with sour cream. These screw-ups happen EVERY SINGLE TIME we order from this location, and we used to eat here 2-3 times per month. We NEVER get sour cream with the Spuds, even though we order it every time. We got a Southwest CHICKEN Cobb Salad once with no chicken. Our orders are usually for 2-3 people and with no special instructions. Even when dining in the restaurant, we have to ask for things-usually the sour cream or utensils-multiple times before they are provided. Within the last year, every order we've placed (more than 10!) has been made incorrectly. Needless to say, we will NEVER patronize this restaurant again. The level of incompetence here is epic. Had lunch at your restaurant today. Ordering was easy. Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Food arrived and it was great. Could only eat half of my Reuben because of the portion size. Prices were very reasonable. Had several staff members drop by to talk and take care of anything we needed. The place was very neat and clean! We enjoy it much better than Panera. Ordered a tuna salad sandwich, side of mac-n-cheese (little cup) and a sweet-tea. $8.50 ???? The sandwich should've been heaped with tuna, there's was more lettuce and tomato than tuna salad. There was barely a spoonful of tuna salad. This place is WAY overpriced. $8.50 could be spent better at JASON's DELI. For $8.50 you can eat lunch at the Hereford House (lunch menu) too. I won't ever go back to Mcalister's. Microscopic proportions, prices are ridiculous for what you get. read more
