Great beer, as always. The wings are the best by far. We asked for extra crispy and they were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

McCall doesn't stay open particularly late, so we were happy to be seated at 9:30 pm (they close at 10). We got a (humongous) hummus plate and some steak sandwiches that were good, as were the fries. The food arrived promptly and the staff was gracious. read more

We decided to try this place for the first time while spending the day in McCall after the Memorial Day weekend crowds had left. I ordered a Turkey Avocado Club with fries and it was good. My GF ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad and it was not buffalo chicken, the chicken was covered in BBQ sauce, which did not go well with the salad. She ate the salad and left the chicken. We asked the waitress about it and she said the restaurant had changed the sauce from buffalo to the BBQ, had not changed it on the menu, and that we were the third people to complain about it. You would think she would have told us about the change at the time we placed our order. Even though we were clearly not happy with that meal she did not offer any compensation, so I asked for a discount on that meal and she discounted it 50%. read more

In McCall for work, and decided to try it. If I could give negative stars, I would give -5. I ordered chicken tenders, as did two other people in my party. When received, everyone agreed that the chicken tenders smelled and tasted like fish. We told the waitress, who replied, "Okay." She did not offer anything else. I ate the fries but not the chicken because I cannot stand fish, while my tablemate ate nothing and had her plate taken away. When the checks were dropped, they have not given us any discount for the food we did not eat, but rather were expecting us to pay full price. We asked to speak to the manager. Another waitress came to our table, very angry, and told us that we should have asked for something else. I tried to tell her that we told our waitress about the bad food, but she stormed off. She returned and told us she gave us 50% off. For food we didn't eat? She said she didn't have time, and welcome to McCall. When my tablemate said she was not going to pay because she hadn't eaten any food at all, the waitress threatened to have the Sheriff meet us at the door and arrest us. She then proceeded to go straight to the phone to call them. I worked in food service for over ten years, and my tablemate for over twenty years. I have never had an experience this bad in any restaurant in this country, or overseas. I have no earthly idea how this place stays in business, and urge everyone who reads this review to avoid this restaurant like the plague. read more

On February 5, 2016 we stopped in after the ice carnival fireworks. We were seated right away but our waitress was rude and acted like it was an inconvenienced that we were there due to the large crowd, however not all tables were occupied. The food was mediocre at best and the beer was warm. I would not recommend stopping in. Based on how they treat the paying customer I doubt they will be in business much longer. read more

As far as beer goes, McCall Brewing Co. knows how to brew. Food was really expensive for what you receive. Wife and I ate with two beers and bill was almost $50. Service was extremely slow. I wouldn't recommend for a place to eat. But a good place to grab a brew. read more

Very, very bad. Very little flavor to any dish (salsa that came with chips being the only exception). Watery beer, either flavorless or actively bad flavor. We came in 2 hours early to watch the BSU Fiesta Bowl. We asked to make a simple swap of two "empty" tables to accommodate us a bit closer to the TV (that are pretty small for a bar). The manager said it would "overload" one of her servers stations. Really? We were swapping a 6 person table for a 4 person. I talked with the manager and she said, "we'll be full anyway." Probably true, but not with us! And it won't be full for long with this kind of service. I would recommend Salmon River Brewery, Lardo's, Chapalas or anywhere else. This is fish country but asked anyways if the fish is fresh. Server didn't know. She asked someone and it's frozen. Got the veggie sandwich (cheese + guac on grilled sourdough) and it was incredibly tasty. Hubby got the French dip and hef and really enjoyed both. We are in McCall for 2 days and will be back. If you are looking for "good bar food and cold beer" don't go to McCall Brewery. We had a party of 4 two days ago and the beer was warm and the food was worse. When the waitress asked how how it was after seeing soup and sandwiches left in front of us, she was a little indignant when we were truthful. Karen, our waitress should not ask if she didn't want the truth. Our son had complained about his food and service and I chalked it up to being young and having high expectations. Now I know he wasn't exaggerating. We don't plan to go there again which is unfortunate with a small tourist community that has limited dining. The BEER is fantastic at this location(Kitchen not so much), the coconut porter is put together perfectly. I brew at home and would never have thought of coconut in a porter! Please go here for their selection of excellent beer. That being said, the kitchen side of this establishment is horrifically unorganized. We had ordered our food at about one in the afternoon, we were quite happy with our flight of beers when we realized that a half an hour had gone by without our food. The waitress stopped by a few minutes later to tell us that the kitchen is backed up and she was terribly sorry. I went to the restroom which happened to be near the kitchen, there were several wait staff snapping at the kitchen crew about ticket times. At Seventy minutes after our food order the waitress came by to tell us that the kitchen never received our order!!! she apologized and said she would put our order in again. At that point it had been an hour and a half and we needed to be back in cascade for an event, so we declined. The waitress did comp us our beer flight and pint of beer, she also hung her kitchen crew out to dry (odd thing to do if this was a fluke occurrence) by showing us the order slip she put into the POS system. Next time i'll just fill a growler or order a pint and go elsewhere for food. read more

Outstanding microbrewery with a great selection of beer choices and a fairly exceptional assortment of food choices. The hamburgers were delicious and a full 8 ounces. Had the Payette Dip sandwich, no fries, added beer cheese soup and small dinner salad. The tab for my meal came to $25.82. The sandwich was greatly lacking, as was the soup. The salad was fresh and crisp and the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately this was worst meal / value I can remember in several years. read more

The Mackinaw Red and Hippie Hopped Pale Ale are two of my favorite Costco beer buys. Enjoying them on draft at the McCall Brewing pub is the pinnacle of an excellent Northwest brewing experience. Buy some food, too - it's great! read more

Great food can compensate for bad service or great service can compensate for bad food.. Unfortunately both were bad for us. Had we not stopped at the bar on our way in we would have waited a good 15 min for anything to drink. The wait staff on the roof didn't even look our way. If you order water you are told where you get it and the station is not very sanitary and not convenient it should really be done away with. The beers are ok. In a brewery we're expecting ice cold frothy beer and asked our waitress if they had colder glasses she said no sorry this is all we have. By the time we got our food it was cold, the burgers were way overdone and dry. One of us went to the restroom and passing the kitchen there was a ton of food just sitting to be delivered. We watched another couple be seated to see if it was just us, after some time of no one acknowledging them they got up and left, smart! We are super easy going about our meals but this was just bad. I don't usually leave reviews but we have had 2 bad experiences at McCall brewing. The first time the food and service were mediocre and the beer was not very good. But we tried it a couple years later hoping it got better. The second time we tried it was Mother's Day, we were in McCall for the weekend to hike. We tried to go to the other brewery in town but they were closed so we decided to try McCall brewing again. Their website said they were open until 9:00, we got there at 7:45 and they started putting up chairs at 8:00 and asked my wife if she wanted a box while she was taking a bite of her burger and not even half way done with it. The burger was a low quality, frozen patty and over priced. My fish and chips were not great either. Beer is below average and not worth it. read more

We went to McCall Brewing on a Monday night. There weren't many people there when we arrived. It took a long time to receive the first beer, and the second beer. We had the steamed clams as an appetizer and they were delicious, as was the bread served with them. However, the dinner entrees were a disappointment. The turkey burger was dry. The steak sandwich had a good flavor but the chunks of meat were not as tender as they should have been. We're in the area for a few days, but we'll try other places before returning to this one. read more

Loved it!!! The staff was upbeat and funny. I had a burger with blue cheese, bacon, jalapenos, and bbq...creme brulee for dessert...come on, does it get any better than that?!!! I would like to start by saying how unfortunate it is to see a restaurant with such character, location, and potential, do such a poor job with the service and quality of food/beer. Hopefully management, if they have one, pays attention to the reviews on sites like this, and starts to rebuild from the ground up, seeing as I'm not the only one who has had a bad experience. First, the server approached the table after we had sat there for a noticeable amount of time and proceeded to take our drink orders. My friend asked if they did beer flights, since it is a brewery, and she hesitantly answered yes, as if it were an inconvenience. Although he was just inquiring, she immediately started to ask which beers he'd like, and acted like we were slowing her down. As he perused the beer list, she announced that she'd be right back. That was understandable, but she could have given some suggestions or taken other drink orders while he made his decision. She left and was gone for 10 minutes. When she returned, she immediately asked what beers he had chosen for his flight. He started to tell her his choices when he was abruptly cut off mid sentence. She again said she'd be right back, and from what we observed she had to deal with another issue between herself and the kitchen. After another 10 minutes go by, she comes back and goes straight into the beer flight order, then asks in an annoyed tone if she can take anyone else's drink order at that time, as if my friend was acting like the beer flight was the order of the year. Since we had been sitting for half an hour, we had our dinner order ready also. It took close to 40 minutes to get drinks to the table. One at our table ordered water, and when the server came back she brought 3 waters and gave them to everyone except the guy who ordered the beer flight, as if to spite him. We had ordered two soups and two apps, assuming they would come out first, followed by a burger and hummus plate as entrees. They all came out at the same time, which wasn't a huge issue, but there was barely enough room at the table for all the plates at once. Food was bland, nachos were cold, bun was soggy, salad was brought with no dressing, and the beer was not memorable in the least. I would have rather gone on a beer tasting at Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewing. It was also hot as hell in there. read more

We have been going to McCall for about 10 years and the last time into McCall Brewing company it really went downhill. Not just one bad entree but all 4 of them were poor. Smaller portions, and poor quality. Very sad to see it take a turn for the worst as this is one of my favorite restaurants in McCall (and there are not that many too choose from). I will probably give it one more try before I write it off. read more
