Gotta say, despite the many negatives I had a good experience here on a busy Friday night (6/30). I used the self serve kiosk which was very easy to navigate. I waited only about 4 minutes, the order was correct and the food got. No complaints here. However, I did observe the guy next to me get lied to. His order was sitting on the counter and he asked a manager (some small framed woman with a buzz cut) if the order was his. She said no. I could tell it was his, he knew it was his, but he waited. Well a few minutes later the cashier says to him, oh sir, this is your order. Buzz cut hears this, says "no it's not," and proceeds to remake the order. She was caught in a lie. Oh well. Overall a fine experience for McD's. WOULD NOT PAY THESE WORKERS $15/HR. read more

Worst drive through ever experienced. I get in the right lane. 6 or 7 cars go by in the left lane. 10 minutes I watch car after car after car go by while my lane doesn't move. Finally moved and some jerk in a huge pickup in the left lane tries to hit me not let me in. Literally the most insane horrible driver through I've ever experienced. A nightmare. read more

Upset.... I went to this mcdonald's and ordered 27 dollars worth of food. I received about fifteen dollars worth of it. As we were sitting in the drive through our order was read to us correctly twice and I made sure the order and receipt was correct since we have had trouble here before. However when we got home to eat our food we realized they had left out two whole cheeseburgers and a buffalo cup from our order and yet they charged us for them and told us they were in the order when I asked them to read it back to me. This particular McDonalds is HORRIBLE. Why do I say that...? They never get a order correct, but are consistently rude..it starts at the top, the day manager (tall dark haired guy) does not give a blank about the service, the food or your opinion...not sure if this is a franchise but the owner should know this guy is bad for business...most people in this area would now rather drive a extra quarter mile to Del Mar Heights location to get a quality quarter pounder without all the attitude.. If I could put zero stars I would! First off the person in the drive-through had an attitude and blatantly didn't take my order. After three other cars got their order in and someone finally came to the microphone. Took my order very quickly, to the point that they took the wrong order. While paying they had yet again the wrong order. Once I got to the window almost every single item was made incorrectly and I had to give back to be remade. One of my guilty pleasures is McDonald's however it seems that every time I go to this location I'm greatly disappointed. I'll start with service; I always do the drive-thru and you would think that with two lanes it would move pretty quickly, well it doesn't. Second, I always pick the wrong lane, even if it is my turn to order it they will take the other lanes order two cars in a row skipping me. Not to mentioning ordering... I never realized that it was so complicated to order a couple of McDouble's but this place always seems to make it difficult whether they can't understand my English or don't hear me I always have to repeat it and have them repeat it back to me. service and staff is always great and stopped by for a quick burger two days ago...in and out is no time and drive thru is pretty effecient....although there is a huge pot hole in the road by the speaker.....but Via De La Valle is a mess as well....I have always gotten good food and fast service. they are well trained. read more

Del Mar is a land of ridiculously wealthy people, soccer moms and cougars in juicy couture sweat suits, and glistening beaches that butt up against rich elderly residents' homes. Why the hell is there a McDonald's here? And more improtantly--WHY AM I HERE? After a three and a half hour grading binge at Pannikin, I was starving and irritable. To my amusement, I saw a sign in the McDonald's across the street as I was walking to my car that touted "WiFi at McDonald's!" "What the heck?" I thought, let's try some bougie McDonald's. And a bougie McDonald's it is, with a flat screen plasma TV, couch, coffee table, and "Music Bar" where you can plug in your iPod and listen to your sweet, sweet tunes, most likely emo melodies complaining about your lack of real problems in life, if you're eating at this Mickey D's. I grabbed a Filet o' Fish, which is wonderfully cheap on Friday's during Lent (score!), and sat down on the couch. Then I thougth I'd crack open the laptop and see if I could surf the net. A friendly, multilingual McDonald's graphic popped up, then thoughtfully informed me it'd be $3 for 2 hours of WiFi. I'm not loving it. Really? Your'e gonna charge for wifi, oh bougie McDonald's? You've got a damn plasma TV. And a COFFEE TABLE. And iced coffee. What the hell bougie place charge for wifi? Are you afraid the homeless man in the corner is going to pull a laptop out of his shopping cart and use it? Grrrrr. This is ridiculous. I, on principle, self-righteously (and temporarily ignoring the irony of me judging a bougie McDonald's and then buying completely into the yuppie hype) refused to pay for the internet. This McDonald's is located just north of San Diego. You can see it from the freeway and it is really convenient for those of us returning to Los Angeles. Usually the bad traffic starts right about in this area so it's cool to just get off and have a bite to eat here. My family has been using this McD's for years. It's kind of a tradition :) I can't remember ever having bad service here! Today I ordered a Big Mac meal with no mac sauce and no onions. No salt on the fries and a hazelnut iced coffee instead of the coke and they did not mess up my order. It was ready quick too! McDonald's may be evil in that evil corporate way just like Disneyland but who cares....I like this McD's! If you have a family they have a free family magazine in a rack inside. read more

I used the computer terminal to order. The food came out in a timely manner. The restaurant wasn't very clean. The restrooms didn't have paper towels to dry. Just had the air blowers that don't do anything but make noise. read more

This McDonald's is not as good as I expected. I used to come here sometimes on my way to the office and it is pretty busy and the service is mediocre at best. The way they make their wraps and sandwiches is just very sloppy and I've gotten my food cold before :( You can definitely feel and taste the difference at different locations. read more

Conveniently located right off the freeway and easy to get back on the freeway. Two drive thru lanes to get you in and out. Ok let's face it, McDonald's is not the best thing for you, but if you are having a rough morning, a $.99 sausage biscuit can help put a smile on your face. I have only been to this location a few times over the years but the service and food has been consistently good. This particular location is a cool because it is so easy to get in and out of. My main problem was with the the line in the drive-thru. It's not their fault I know...but it does help promote a less than great experience. Service just seemed slow. Even with two drive-thru lanes, they converge at one point which is always this awkward you-go-or-I-go decision that has to take place between two drivers. I still debate whether two order lines really do make the drive-thru experience faster. Everything else was standard. We did notice our fries were not salted. This is a really big deal since McDonald's fries ARE THE MAIN REASON WE COME HERE in the first place ;-) read more

There is a love hate relationship with this McDonald's. Driving back from LA this late Friday afternoon was a mistake in the first place and so was my 7:30 AM breakfast choice but that's another story.... North County is not friendly to people like myself, starving from a long day and trying to find food. No signs, nothing. This McDonald's must have looked like a million dollars from the freeway. Little did I know I would have to deal with the losers inside. Stuffy. Pricks. Fancy bunches of assholes patrol this entire place. If you can even make it into the parking lot from the sea of Bentley's coming out of Pasta Pronto you might be able to get some food. The drive through operators were more plastic than the menu border. Who gives you a cup of coffee without asking if you would like cream before shoving the beverage at you? Yes, a trip inside to get not only some cream but some apple pies were an excruciatingly long wait.... Inside was covered with women with boulders on their rings and lavish jewelry. Fancy clothes to hit a McDonalds? Give me a break... Enduring the nit picking from the rich and equally hungry cougars must make the employees act even more plastic to prevent themselves from hitting these customers.... However, while the employees try to appease their rich peers on the other side of the counter, they neglect to notice that the two apple pies have been ready for far too long and are still in fact sitting in the "ready to be bagged" area.... Good lord. Micky D's helped me restore my blood sugar from the lack of food but I think I would have been better off just driving down the freeway even further and starving to death. Cougars eat the employees and other customers alive, and will chase you down leaving the oh so congested parking lot... Take caution. read more

positive.. clean close to home close to the freeway parking isn't too bad when they screw up my order...they fix it when i was pregnant...they would actually tell me to sit down and they would bring my order to me! $1 soda's $1 ice cream they are friendly free wifi drive thru negative... they never get my order right... they are not the brightest i will return time and time again...i know i know...but when i'm on my way home from a late baseball game...i don't want to deal with cooking, dishes or clean up...this just is so much easier! Why oh Why do I always have to ask for extra napkins whenever I get a dip cone here? YOU KNOW IT'S GOING TO MELT AND GET ALL OVER ME! Tip: Ask for a cup. That way you can put it in the cup and take your time. It still melts, but you can manage it better that way. read more

Just thought I do a quick bite on the way home. I was pleasantly surprised to see an touch screen order kiosk. So I tried it. Ordering was straight forward. I paid with ApplePay. Then the wheels came off. To complete my order I had to enter a table locator. So I looked around and noticed all the locator holders were empty. I pushed the "assistance" button and a light started flashing on the kiosk and I waited and waited and waited. Others had the same issue and just got in line. I waited some more just to see what would happen. Finally someone in line who had bailed out saw me and grabbed a locator from the other side of the store as all the locater holders were empty. I was able to complete my order and the food was delivered to my table. No issues after that. Props for trying to modernize, but it was an epic fail that left me waiting for assistance that never came. Might be best to just stick with what you know. read more

Made us wait an additional 10min in the parking lot after we got to the window. They initially gave us the wrong order after I checked the bag and the worker just took the bag and handed it to the truck in an adjacent spot. If these are the kinds of food safety standards they are practicing handling orders during a pandemic, I can't imagine what they are doing when actually preparing the food itself. Actually in this case I can, since the fries were as soggy as they come, and both my girlfriend and I got stomach aches after eating the mcrib and cheeseburger. Okay so it's McDonald's. Normally there's no differentiating factor among fast food restaurants since they're pretty much the same. But I will say that the oatmeal I ordered was terrible: watered down and bland, as if they just added some lukewarm water to instant oatmeal. I've been to other McDonald's and ordered the oatmeal, and they were freshly cooked/creamy and had a touch of cinnamon/sugar to make it sweet. The one here was just ridiculous. read more

No paper towels in restroom. Everyone skips washing hands with air dryers. I washed and found napkins in lobby. It is a failed system that does not work. Gross watching everyone skip washing. This is strictly for the restroom at the location. All I can say is: ew. There was no toilet paper in the stalls, the sinks were covered with water, the trash bins were completely full of paper, and the restroom floor had a lot of trash as well. I judge eateries by the cleanliness of the their restrooms, and this was not the worst I've seen, but come on. Is it too hard to have someone check the restroom every hour? Bad service. Not friendly staff. Extremely slow drive thru (normally pretty fast at mcdonalds as everything is microwaved). Was thinking they might be more friendly due to the super mega rich in the town. Screwed up my order and they didn't even apologize.
