This is a live review since i'm sitting in Denny's right now eating my All- American Slams and fried mozzarella sticks with my bestie, Danielle on whom is studying for the bar right now. Yes, that's right, we out here eating and studying at Denny's. Don't sleep on that. Denny's has been a staple for me since my college days back in 2013, food is decent (depending on certain location, the one across from Santa Ana College was the one I used to go to back in the day) But this location, the chef who is working right now( time is 2 am on June 4, 2025) and our amazing server Gail, thank you for serving us. Gail was wondering and for the first time in my life, she told me I look familar from this show called Gilmore Girls on which I never watched but my bestie look it up and I can see the similarities. Alright, now lets get do to the food, I ordered the All- American Slams, cripsy hashbrown, scamabled eggs, 4 pieces of cripsy bacon and a stack of pancakes, with an add on of toasted English Muffin. 9.6/10 I agreed with my bestie, that indeed, their pancakes are WAY better than IHOP. The pancakes here are fluffy and mosit, not dense like Ihop, again if you like dense pancakes this isn't it. Cheers to the chest for making that cripsy hashbrown perfect and the plating... I never seen a more aesthetic Denny's plate than this location, looks so well put and the fried mozzarella sticks were hot and not too. salty 9.4/10 Originally we wanted to order the maple stuff donuts but they were out. That's totally fine, because it's giving us an excuse to come back and get it. We came in around 1am, my bestie needed to study other than at home so I didn't mind. This is just brining me back memories from my college days so this was a nice visit and by far one of the besst location of Denny's. No homeless here like in Santa Ana and everyone that dine in was respectful. Thank you Gail for serving us and she was the only server here at time we were in so we understand, plus we weren't in a rush to get our food since we were studying well my friend was stuyding, I'm just typing out this review. read more

I did not have a good experience at this Denny's in Del Mar, my waitress wasn't in the best mood. This was the first time that they didn't allow me to substitute the meat for toast. I ended up switching my order to French toast which I received burnt, crispy not good. There was a nasty fly disturbing our meal & the food took alot longer come to out. I did not like this location. I will say the gentleman at the front cashier was very pleasant!! read more

Went here recently during their remodel and worst service ever and very mediocre food. The waitress was very impatient with us and very unkind. My wife had some questions and took some extra time to decide and this waitress did not want to give her a second to do that. Terrible service! Not busy and servers were just hanging around, not attending to tables or orders... Ordered togo and the women (server name on receipt, Homaira) just let my order sit on the counter while she spoke with another male server. Definitely not worth the cash tip I was going to give. If I were the owner of this restaurant, I'd be very concerned. Drive a little further down and go somewhere else unless you want to wait around for no reason and eat cold food. read more

I've always enjoyed Dennys. It's open at all hours , and the selection of food is vast. I'm giving this review to provide info for Dennys app users and customers driven by specials. Yesterday 9/18 was national cheese burger day. I found a list of restaurants giving special discounts. Dennys was listed as one of them. However when we arrived we were informed this location was not participating. The host advised us to check online for coupons or promo codes I found the Dennys app and downloaded it and got an immediate 20% off coupon. The fine print indicated it does not apply to Every Day Value Slam and items under $8. We ordered to burgers off the $2/$4/6/8 value menu. I had 3 add ons. Avocado , cheese and the seasoned fries. We went to check out and were told we only qualified for .77 cents off. I tried to give the cashier the info and fine print but he refused it stating there was fine print that stated this. So I concluded the Every Day Value Slam equates to the $2/$4/$6/$8 value menu. I should have ordered a burger off the regular menu and got more bang for my buck. Fortunately the total dinner was reasonable despite not having the coupon. I just found the location lacking in customer service regarding the specials. (I had to specifically request the Value menu ) as it was not provided and I would not have known about had I not downloaded the app. Regarding food. It was served hot and fresh. Burger was pretty good Seasoned fries not worth $1.99 upgrade. Recommend this Dennys if you just want a place to sit down for a burger , breakfast Simple food. The booths need to be replaced. Stopped at the Denny's in Del Mar this weekend, on the way home from an LA day trip. We arrived close to 9pm at night. The restaurant was not super busy, but had a good amount of people. We were seated almost immediately. I know Denny's isn't always a popular choice for a family meal out. But when you are on the road on those long drives, they really just hit the spot. As was the case for this visit. We ordered our food, and everything came out hot and fast. There was no disappointment with everything that we ordered. Our appetizers came out a decent amount of time between our main food, which is appreciated. I hate when your appetizer comes out and then 2 minutes later your main meal comes out. Then you either don't enjoy your appetizer or you let your food get cold. We were able to enjoy our entire appetizer and then our maid events came and we were ready! I never got the name of our host (she was an older hispanic lady) but she was awesome. She was so polite to my kids. My son had just woken up from a car nap and was a little grumpy. She made a point to talk to him and make him laugh. Throughout our meal, she would stop to check on us and again make conversation with our son to get him talking about his toys. She was great and I wish I got her name. Overall, you know what you are getting when you eat at Denny's. It's not the best quality fine dining. My group of 3 people stopped at Denny's for a late night meal after the New years party. There was a wait which we did not mind, waited our turn and got sat by a serve named Cynthia. We placed our orders, asked for milkshakes and she said No, we're busy at the moment and the milkshakes are made by hand, but once it dies down we can see if we'll be able to make you one. So we said okay and waited. After a while, there was no line at the door anymore, the rush has calmed down. So when someone else brought out the dessert, we asked again if we were able to get 3 milkshakes and she said yes, made our milkshakes and brought them out. The server, Cynthia saw that, and she very UNPROFESSIONALLY reprimanded the other lady in front of all the customers, saying "I already told them no, why did you bring out the milkshakes, I told 4 other tables no so now we'll have to go make more milkshakes, do you know how much time it'll take to make them all a milkshake? If someone orders something, run by me first". That was a conversation that should have been had in private, but she obviously wanted us to hear because she said it right next to our table. 5 mins later, another girl at a table next to us asked for a milkshake, and she said "No, we're not making those tonight" then pointed to our table and said "they just told the other lady that I said it was okay to make them milkshakes", which did not happened, she RUDELY lied about what we said to other customers next to our table. The experience at Denny's was great until she started having a public meltdown down and talked rudely about us indirectly to other customers but loud enough to have us hear. She honestly ruined the entire experience we had at Denny's with her nasty words and attitude. She should not be in the service industry. I hope other costumers do not have to experience this. However, the manager on shift was very nice and comped our meal for the trouble after we brought it up to his attention and was very professional. He said she should not have been telling customers that they're not making milkshakes and to let them know it will take a while instead. Which validated how we felt. read more

Flawless experience. On the way home from San Diego and was super hungry and wanted comfort food. This location is the BEST spot to be, besides the Denny's in San Clemente. The service is great, food is flawless and the ambiance is comfortable. Our server Cindy was a gem, and I hope that she continues to be bubbly, and personable. I am always eager to meet and have a wonderful experience when dining out and she did not disappoint, also she was able to show us the menu and other specials that they offer which was a huge plus! Happy Veteran's Day to all my fellow veterans out there. Decided to go in for a complimentary Grand Slam breakfast and it was a great way to start the day while celebrating with other vets. Denny's is a popular spot on Veteran's Day and while it may have been busy, customer service was top-notch. My favorite waitress, Bobbie, assisted us and she was as sweet as ever. Showing love and respect to all of the veterans dropping in for breakfast. The pancakes were fluffy and golden and the eggs, crispy hash browns, bacon, sausage link and hot coffee hit the spot. This location in Del Mar is right around the corner from the Del Mar racetrack and is always busy, but the crew there always provides great service. As a family we can't really go out to nice brunch places where kids will sit still and behave (well maybe later when they are older). So which leads us to Denny's and other more casual, family friendly establishments where people less likely to roll their eyes. I think most of us know what is Denny's had to offer in terms of food. I'm just gonna highlight kids breakfast, its $4.19 (eggs, pancakes, bacon). It doesn't come with milk but still it's an incredible deal! Sunday are very busy but the wait it not that long. My friend, well she ordered an interesting array of food. Some garlic bread. Some pancakes. And chicken fingers. Hey, I'm not one to judge, and neither was Jay. He didn't bat an eyelash at the unusualness of her order. (Though I did ask her some pointed questions once he left.... garlic bread..) I (for once) kept it simple, I ordered an egg scramble, just as it's made, add on some tortillas, and call it good. Oh wait.... hold the mushrooms.. I guess I did make it a wee complicated. The food came out, mine was exactly perfect. And tased great. My eggs were scramble, there were yummy bits of potato, red pepper, sausage and I got to have warm tortillas. Life was good. My friend. Our waitress was fantastic. My son had the Star Spangled Breakfast, pancakes piled high topped with strawberries and whipped cream, scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns. The pancakes were terrific, the bacon was so sad. Skinny, tiny and under cooked. The eggs great and i prefer the browns well done. Only 4 because there should always be room for improvement, in anything we do. That being said, this Denny's is awesome! After working both jobs all day and up until midnight-thirty, I was hangry and exhausted. I was greeted and warmly welcomed by a smiling Cindy. Great customer service and I don't think I ever saw her without a smile on her face, the entire time I was there. The chef, Ubaldo, is just as awesome too. Friendly from behind the scenes, in the kitchen, fantastic food (plated gorgeous, and tasted like friggin heaven). Came here not in the greatest mood, but leaving full, friendly and happy. Kudos Denny's for this stellar duo... Went here after a concert with my family. Service was quick and polite. The waitress was extremely kind and had good attention to detail. Our food was pretty good too, they were slammed at around 1am and despite that our food got out quickly and was good. It's Dennys, I know what I'm expecting here.
