I frequent this location of The Habit. Unfortunately the quality is inconsistent. My order is frequently wrong. Today I ordered the BBQ Bacon Char. By the time I finished my burger I realized it was missing the crispy onions and the bbq sauce. Since I couldn't prove it to management I did not say anything. I have also ordered to go numerous times and the order is wrong. Once there was mayo, cheese and pickles when the order clearly said to omit those. Sadly these were for an allergy so people in our group couldn't eat. If you want a good deal try the family bundle. It is worth it! Also the milkshakes are very good. This location food is typically better than other ones. We have just have several orders wrong. I recommend checking the order prior to leaving when getting the food to go. read more

We just had a great experience at habit burgers. Been here before I wasn't totally impressed but today it seemed like a completely different restaurant. The young lady that took our order could not have been sweeter, and in fact when my wife's Burger came without onions, she made her a completely new burger with a smile was really a nice experience and the food is always good. Came down to San Diego for a weekend getaway with my husband. Decided to stop at the habit for lunch. We got greeted immediately by Kyle, who continued to be very friendly throughout our visit checking on us a couple times bringing our food out to us instead of us going to pick it up. Even notice when we were done and came and took our tray away. He even offered to refill our drinks to go. Notice that the restaurant and the bathrooms were very clean especially everywhere in the kitchen area was very well stocked clean and put away. Bathrooms were stocked and gender neutral. Plenty of parking wheelchair accessible and plenty of seating inside. Our meal was hot and fresh. We had the ahi tuna and teriyaki hamburger. Kyle definitely made our lunch very enjoyable. The food was fine the place was clean and the place was fast and efficient. I don't understand how you're going to make such a good hamburger? With a stale bun? Just because it was a little charcoal inside, doesn't take away from the fact that the bun itself was stale! The customer service to me in my point of view was not great. It was spacious inside for seating and what not. But the bathrooms were disgusting. I'm so sick of this location. The past 8 times I've ordered here I've been missing items like the ranch you guys fucking charge extra for. And just today when receiving my order, we asked if the extra ranch was in there, the worker said yes just to have NONE of the four or so ranch cups that were supposed to be there. Stopped by here on a long drive. The food was good. We had the teriyaki burger and the new spicy crispy chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich slapped and the sauce on the teriyaki was good. All in all solid choices. With that said although the food was average the service here was top notch and easily 5/5 stars in that regard. Special shout out to Julie who was very kind, attentive, and really eager to help in any way. Over the course of the hour we were there she was fantastic with everyone that came in and out. This was my second favorite Habit location with the original Goleta location leading the pack. I have ordered the line caught tuna sandwich in the past, along with the veggie burger and the portabello mushroom burger. I placed an order for a tuna sandwich through the app yesterday and there was no option to make notes so I came into the store to ask for it to be cooked rare. There was a big charbroiler grill and to my surprise they put the fish right next to a charburger with no attempt to separate them. When they went to flip the fish they used the single spatula that they turn all of the products over with. I told the woman that the spatula was dirty and that I was not prepared to eat the fish because of that. She quickly became extremely rude. An older man came out with some sort of form, I guess that is what they do when they refund and I did not want to fill out a form and skip dinner so I then asked if they could just make my burger without putting it by the beef. He gave orders in Spanish to the woman on the grill who then put a piece of raw fish into a sandwich. He handed me the sandwich in a way that felt condescending and testing me to see what I would do. I told them I would like it to be cooked rare not raw so they opened up the sandwich, plucked the fish out and plopped it right down on the charbroiler on the exact spot where they had just cooked a burger. They served it on the same bun and provided very bad service. The habit can and does serve decent food but this location has lazy staff with a bad attitude. read more

Just want to share my experience this past Monday night at the Lomas Santa Fe Plaza. I've always ordered for the Mango Miso Crunch, my favorite, but it's not about the food. It's about the wonderful service provided by the workers. The young man who served me was definitely a Gen Z but he was anything but a Gen Z typecast. Pretty disappointed that the Habit allows filthy dogs inside the dining room. Had to eat next to a dirty dog that was shedding all over the place. Employee Fernando told me that the dog needed to be in the patio, however, he refused to ask the owner to comply with their rules. I've been a supporter of The Habit Burger grill since finding them in Glendale up north of Los Angeles. I happen to like the particular combination of a double-char burger on a grilled bun, with the right about of grilled onion. Just perfect. Hands down this is the best HH I've been to. Easy to get to off the freeway, parking is a breeze. Spotlessly clean, fast and friendly service, and OMG they have a great version of the patty melt. Definitely worth a visit and your lunch money! We stopped by the Habit Burger Grill on Loma Santa Fe after visiting the Del Mar fairgrounds to watch Van Gogh's painting exhibit on 1.16.22. The parking lot here is massive and there are plenty of available spots to park. The customer service here was exceptional and the staff was energetic. They had answers to all the questions with a cheery attitude. We ordered the following: 1. Three Santa Barbara Burgers: Their Santa Barbara burger was the best by far. The patty was perfectly juicy with the right amount of extras like tomatoes and avocados. 2. Had a pretty delicious visit to the Habit! It is a smaller restaurant but We were able to find a seat pretty easily at lunch. I went with an Ahi Wrap subbing the bread out for Lettuce. It actually was pretty good and I only missed the bread a little. The ahi didn't taste fishy and it was a large piece. It was cooked to my liking and a wee bit pink. I got the sprouts as well, which were also yummy BUT as I was eating them I chomped into one sprout that was super cold. Bummed me out. Doing Keto can be hard but the Habit has it covered. I ate the above and still kept in ketosis so no doubt I will be a regular customer at lunch time. I do wish they had Coke Zero. read more

The staff was pleasant and the dining area was clean. I like that they give you a buzzer so that you're not awkwardly waiting for your food at the counter. I've been to this location several times over the years and have been very happy with my service and quality of the food. Almost every time I have come, they've had such great business, the line has been at least 2-4 people deep and they move it quickly so you don't end up having to wait Too long (although you do have to get a pager and wait a few minutes). For Fast food, it's pretty fast. For those health conscious types, you can get the albacore tuna sandwich and ask for it in a lettuce bun instead of bread, and you've got a nice low-carb sandwich right there which is filling. My kids enjoyed their kid's meals--the grilled cheese and the regular burger--both with fries. The Onion rings are pretty much perfect for onion rings. just the right temperature straight out of the fryer, not soggy, and not too much breading. PROS: for a busy place with a line most of the time, they're pretty fast. service is friendly CONS: location is in a busy strip mall but there's plenty of parking most of the time. BOTTOM LINE: if you want fast food and need a healthy choice (i.e. the tuna sandwich protein style), this is the place to go. Kids get a "gummy burger" treat with their kids meals. read more

My burger-eating kid has been craving the Habit , so tonight I joined the crowd and we ordered a Family Pack (4 burgers: 3 for the carnivores, and 1 for my veg self). Great value: 4 burgers, 4 fries, 1 family salad. The veggie burger was quite delicious. I got it with added portobello mushroom, and loved that they indicated in the Uber Eats menu the grilled onions are NOT vegetarian. My sweetie got one of their yummy chocolate shakes, and my kid the vanilla one. Certainly not the fastest delivery window ever - but hey, this is yummy food for a great price, and when you get delivery during #stayathome, it's not like you have anywhere to go, right? This is a review for the beef brisket hamburger, which would be very tasty just as a beef brisket sandwich. The brisket had good flavor, juicy, tender, and not fatty. You really can't taste the burger when you have brisket on top of it so it's almost better not to have the patty and just charge it as a brisket sandwich (or meal!). The brisket burger is on the pricey side but I had a few bucks off as a result of the coupon on a receipt from a previous purchase. This is a review for a takeout order during covid19. The cashier had a transparent partition separating you when you place your order and pay. This is a good option for fast food, that tastes like a sit-down restaurant. The Santa Barbara burger is my favorite, but it's so large that I try to share it with someone, because it really tastes best fresh. Grilled sourdough, with avocado on it, that doesn't reheat or save well. But it's delicious. Their regular burgers are very good, as well as the teriyaki version. They offer grilled onions, which my Mom prefers because she doesn't like raw ones. The sides are good, especially the unusual choice of tempura green beans. Sign up for their emails, because they send out freebie offers fairly regularly. My birthday offer was a free cone, and they also sent a free cheeseburger coupon. A week or 2 later, they sent out a free cheeseburger coupon for dad's & grads. You usually have a month to use the coupons, and they scan them directly from your phone. It even shows on the offer that it's been redeemed. Parking can be a pain in the Vons center at times, but they have several 30 minute spots right up front. read more

We've given the Solana Beach Habit another try, tonight we picked up take out just to get home and two of our burger orders were wrong, and all three burgers had over-grilled rock hard buns. My kids had to deconstruct their burgers in order to eat them. I ordered a lettuce wrap charburger with no cheese and it came with cheese. We added bacon to all three regular burgers and only two came with bacon. I'm not sure what it takes to get a family-of-four order right but this location simply cannot do it. read more

Stopped here for lunch on my way down to San Diego. It was a Saturday around noon. This place is located in a big plaza, so parking shouldn't be hard. When we came, they didn't take orders at the cashier, so we had to order and pay via tablet (which there are 2 of). However, on my way out, I noticed they seemed to take orders, so I guess you can order digitally and verbally. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. I secured a table outside while my dad waited for our order which took around 15 minutes. The food was good, although they forgot my dad's salad dressing which he had to go inside and asked for. The Habit is a really good burger joint but it's really far more than just burgers. And there is no question it is a step above most other burger places. The grilled tri tip steak sandwich on toasted sourdough was terrific. The albacore tuna filet sandwich was also excellent. And our tempura green beans dipped in ranch were outstanding. I love their burgers but their other sandwiches are really good, too, and you can eat healthy here, if you want. And the pepper bar is really nice with three different types of peppers. read more

Ordered a pickup order for lunch - but did not receive my Korean burger with the order. Called the Habit store on Lomas Santa Fe in North County San Diego to report the missing item and requested that they either deliver the missing burger (99 cents to deliver) or credit back the cost of the whole meal. Was told to go online and fill out a form (?!?!?) and maybe someone would get back to me. I have been a constant and loyal customer at this store since the day it opened. My husband and I eat there more than once a week. A simple act of courtesy and customer service would have gone far in this situation. Instead of requiring me to drive 15 miles back to the store, they could call a delivery service for 99 cents and made it right. Or credit back the cost of the meal upon request. Food is good, but service is terrible. They say they are "understaffed" but it's been that way for over a year and half. Plus they have the same number of staff as all the other Habit locations so it feels more like a lazy owner as he just tells everyone to use the kiosks rather than have a person take your order. I would say 90% of tables are dirty and get cleaned by the customer rather than staff, this lack of cleanliness carries over to the drink lids and soda station as well as restrooms.
