On top of that the cashier could barely understand me and the manager there has a very thick mexican accent. My boyfriend and I came here on Sunday morning to get some breakfast in the drive-through. There were five cars in the drive-through and I thought that it would take a long time but surprisingly it really didn't take that long. We lined up order food and proceeded to the window however because share did not offer the option of scanning our coupon and we paid for our items. We paid and then went to the window to ask if we can use her coupon as no one offered to Scana before they told us that we would have to go back to where we paid and then scan the coupons. I only wanted a free hash brown that was probably a dollar or less but the customer service was so horrible that they would not let me scan my item or offer me a free hash brown. Instead the route associate at the drive-through told me I had to go backwards and I explained to her that we were in the drive-through and there were cars behind us I didn't make any sense for me to back up. She then told me that there was nothing I can do and she couldn't help me in anyway possible. My boy friend was irritated and ask her if she could fix the order had we got inside the restaurant. The woman said yes she could fix it if we go inside and park right outside to help us fix the situation. When we came in the girl totally ignored us and didn't use to make any eye contact we told the cashier multiple times that we needed the girl who was at the drive-through to help us and she completely ignored both my boyfriend and I along with the girl that worked there which was her coworker. She want to come up to us so we had to let everyone else Go ahead of us and then finally when we were up at the cashier again we specifically pointed out that she needed to come help us. Again the cashier reached out to her and the girls to play ignored her again and again. Talk about not being a team player this was definitely the case. Ultimately the cashier was struggling to understand her situation or scan the coupon that she had to call multiple people and we wasted a total of 45 minutes at this location was just completely and utterly disappointing. Eventually everything was fixed but no one even bothered to thank us or even give us our order faster. We had to re-order everything and we had to wait another 10 to 15 minutes which was such a huge disappointment. McDonald being one of the biggest change in the United States, and one of my favorite locations and franchise, Really needs to train their associates and cashiers to be better attendance to the customer and better problem solver's. read more

Make sure you triple count your change and add up your order yourself. They tried to overcharge me and then when I asked to cancel the item they tried to short change me. This is our go to McDonald's in the area. We literally eat here twice a week. The service here is excellent, each time quick service and most of the staff are very pleasant and positive most of the time. The restaurant is somewhat modern and usually clean. Once in a blue moon I would see a dirty table when I sit here (but I always clean the table and seats with sanitizing wipers anyways). Easily located on San Pablo Ave. it's easy to pop in for a quick meal. read more

I went to McDonald's in El Cerrito and ordered a large fry and asked that the fries be cooked fresh. There was a manager at the register who told me that SHE COULD NOT GUARANTEE that my fries be cooked fresh unless I asked for no salt. Have you heard anything so absurd?? I told her "but I do want salt" and I want my fries fresh. I was very put off by her telling me that she could not guarantee that my fries were cooked fresh. A manager, really??? The Mother and I went to this McDonald's to kill some time after bringing Bianco to his groomer. It was a toss up between Burger King or McDonald's--whichever we saw first driving south. Okay, McDonald's it is--it was first before BK. We had breakfast first and it is one of the 24/7 Drive-Thru McDonald's. It was definitely a McDonald's. Challenging entrance and choosing parking or the drive-thru? Check. Confusing parking lot? Check. Finding a space? Check. Walking to the entrance in front of the drive-thru exit? Check. Yup, the usual drive-thru and parking layout that does not make sense. Check. I was reading the other reviews for this particular McDonald's. We must have caught them on a good day. Placing the order was easy and it was nice and hot in under five minutes by the time our order number was called. Now when The Mother notices and comments, "Wow! That was fast," then all is going to be good. (The management must have been reading the previous reviews.) This particular McDonald's branch is small compared to the two in Berkeley and Oakland that I have commented on. This is definitely a location where if you choose to eat in, just eat and leave. Not exactly conducive to be in a social hub like the other McDonald's. Just eat and leave, should take about 30 minutes. I think we will be back at this McDonald's for eats the next time we bring Bianco to his groomer. Good to have an option. SYOY! read more

This location is definitely in my top 3- which means a lot coming from one of the most well known fast food connoisseurs in the greater Bay Area. From a first glance, it might just look like a regular McDonald's as you catch a glimpse of The beautiful Golden Arches™ pulling in. As soon as you walk in, you can tell this is one of the good ones. The Infiniti machines hum in the distance as you walk in the door. Good American Citizens enjoy their meals. It is a welcoming environment. As you walk in, the waitress at the front asks what you are having. You can sense the sincerity in her voice- and the great importance it means to her that you are enjoying your experience. I usually get a double quarter pounder with cheese meal (#3) super size because they know I'm with the business. This time I threw in a $5 20 Piece, with the boys in mind. $17 of pure bliss and minutes later it is sitting on my table. My number was not called, I did not get up to retrieve my food- the waitress brought it over to my private booth in the lobby, and with a nice smile she said, "Enjoy." Just wait until the boys hear about this- I thought to myself as I took the first bite of that always fresh juicy double quarter pounder with cheese. The booths have a nice decor and the advertisement sticker placement that completely blocks the view through the window is fairly unique. Well for one they are not utilizing their two ordering systems that they have in place now at the drive-thru for example tonight I was here and they had approximately 10 cars in line and still refuse to put someone on the other speaker to move orders through faster. Also Daniel has no proper etiquette on taking orders and probably needs to be trained a little bit more on the speaker system if not given a different position. read more

Access to this McDonald's can be easy as pie or a headache, depending on north or southbound and walk in or drivethru. Southbound it is easy to access the lot or drivethru. Northbound? Getting to the lot is a little work and drivethru is impossible unless you want to do creative gyrations in the parking lot. Aside from that, the people are usually friendly, the menu is quite varied (for a McDonald's, I've seen very sparse MickeyD's menus other places), and they try to get you in and done, but not feeling impersonal. read more

Horrible!!!!!!! So, I come over here to order food for my kids and myself while waiting for a oil change to be done at Honda. First off I order a mighty kids meal and a McChicken. After the lady rung me up I told her that I changed my mind and wanted a McDouble instead of the McChicken and she said it was a dollar extra. BUT what really ticked me off is when I'm walking out and she's (the employee) is behind me and starts making faces and mocking or talking crap behind me as I walk out and my Daughter sees it and tells me what the lady was doing! I went there to pick up my mobile order via drive-thru. One of the staffs confirmed my order via drive-thru speaker. But the staffs at the pick-up window told me that my order was not available. They actually had put my order in a paper bag without the order info so they could find my order. Yes, I will admit it: I will occasionally eat at McDonald's... Okay I even think their french fries are the best around and I really like Big Macs... I live close-by to this McDonald's and man I tell you - this has to be the worst McDonald's in the franchise in terms of drive through order accuracy. The only reason I gave it two stars is that the staff is usually friendly and the "grounds" are reasonably clean... the food is prepared properly, however This McDonald's cant get a drive through order served right, in my personal experience, nine out of ten visits - the order is wrong. Oh it certainly is correct on the receipt (and I think their prices are higher / yes there is a variance within the chain), and by the time you get home (or more recently inspect it before driving away) you find something missing. What I find fascinating is that the order is never wrong, so much as plain incomplete - what are the odds? If you go here, take it from a semi-frequent customer who lives near-by and places "normal" (basic value menu, etc.) orders, check your meal before driving away, chances are from my experience is that it will be incomplete (never giving you something you didn't order / just missing something you did) - yikes. What a weak link to an otherwise clean, conveniently located and friendly location. read more

My kids were hungry on our way home when we decided to pull over and get them something to eat around midnight. Using google maps of course, we ended up here. There was about two cars ahead of us but the line moved so slow. When it was our turn to order the lady took our order correctly though some items weren't available. Moving on to window 1 to pay, my SO handed the lady cash with exact change and needed to give back a few $1 bills. She must've counted our change like 5 times before giving it to him.
