All this for $5.49. Now why can't the McDonald's in the mainland offer this type of dish for breakfast? If you don't like spam, you can opt for the Portuguese sausage, eggs and rice platter for $4.49, or, if you like spam and not the Portuguese sausage, you can opt for the spam, eggs and rice platter for $4.49. Or...if you want the usual, they offer the regular menu items. As others have mentioned, the McDonald's offers FRIED apple and cherry pies for $1 each...yay! Three stars isn't too bad granted that it's McDonalds. Now where can you go and get rice at McDonalds? Hawaii! My husband grew up in Hawaii and he always talked about the Portuguese sausage, eggs and rice at McDonalds so of course we went. It was pretty good! They give you three pieces of sausage, eggs and rice with soy sauce. The service was pretty good. My eggs were a little runny and since I'm pregnant I asked for it to be recooked. They made me a whole new batch of eggs cooked all the way. We ordered a taro pie which was also delicious. Great customer service at a definite affordable price! read more

**NOTE: This review is for the Haupia Pie only.** The Haupia Pie is a seasonal pie that you can only get in Hawaii. Haupia is a coconut-milk based dessert that is very popular in the aloha state. The McDonald's Haupia Pie was deep fried and served warm. The haupia filling was delicious and the pie was crunchy, but it wasn't anything special. I still prefer the original apple pie to this. As if Waikiki prices aren't stupid enough, I ordered a chicken nugget meal (over $9) and asked for "water." They brought me tap water. I told them they charged me for a meal, those come with bottled water. They tried to tell me it would be $1.40 more! I've lived across the street for years. The service has always been beyond horrible, but tonight made me finally write a review. If negative stars were an option then I would give them a negative 4/5 because the service is disgraceful. I'm not sure who decided to hire the night staff but I would rather have hobos behind the register because the night staff consists of a bunch of females who clearly hate their jobs and do not care whatsoever about the service they give. M: can I get *insert order here*. E: *price of order* (no "that will be", or "please" or anything at all. M: pays. E: hands receipt and continues to ignore me. No thank you or anything. Mind you I've been here a hundred times. Same sub par service every single time. The employees are complete zombies who will never greet you, simply hear your order and demand the price. That's the only verbal exchange that happens. Then you usually wait 10+ minutes then you will either here your order number in a monotone quiet voice or see your number on the screen. It feels like the employees hate their lives and jobs and take it out on the customers. Then you get your food and regret going to this location. Tonight I got a mcteri and fries. The fries were good, but the mcteri was disgusting. I can usually eat just about anything but this was so disgusting that I had to throw it away halfway through. Not only is the "renovated" method of ordering and pick-up useless but it creates congestion near the front of the store you'd think its a town hall meeting. I have to admit that I don't get to eat at McDonald's often. But I was hungry because it has been a long time since I had dinner there. I really like the McChicken Sandwiches and it is part of the dollar menu which is a good idea for those who are on tight budgets and want something that is priced just right and not too expensive. I love it when they call the order and deliver it to the table for the customers so it will make it easier. The recent change was the kiosks where it is a lot more faster and quicker so that no one will be wondering where the food is at. One suggestion is put a self-serving drink station so that it will be a lot easier, which can choose from and pick from. Other than that it is a very good late night fix for those who are out late and in need of something to eat and get a quick fix of the late night fix so that way the cravings are satisfied and glad to get a chance to eat. read more

We were both hungry and the only place open this early in the morning was McDonald's. Everyone was happy and they made really nice communication. Our orders were on time and we made it to work perfect. But our boss was late so we are outside while waiting for him. The food was okay but not the best. I never ate McDonald's for years cuz I don't really like fast food. I got a egg whites assuage English muffin set with orange juice and hash brown. I had the Hawaiian breakfast here. It was pretty fun to try, especially if you're up early and you want to try something different that you can't get back at home. It comes with two heaping scoops of white rice, a block of scrambled egg, spam, and Portugese sausage. About halfway through, it did feel a bit much. I could feel my art aching under the weight of all that sodium. What I would recommend getting for sure are the pies. Quick snack that'll cost you a buck, the last time I visited they had taro pie. McDonalds is a life boat in a sloshing sea of sake....a superhero swooping down to catch me before I fall to my death... and their Deluxe Breakfast Platter which includes portuguese sausage, spam, eggs and rice is like an adrenaline shot to the heart of an OD'ing heroin junkie. Every bite charges my power meter a little bit and by the end of the meal I'm at least half-way alive and have enough energy to function for the rest of the day. With this McDonald's strategically located across the street from the hotel I was staying at, I was spared the arduous task of hiking Waikiki alleyways to find some grub. The service at this location is slow irregardless of whether or not there are a lot of patrons. Also, on more than one occasion, they have forgotten items in my order. For example, most recently, they've forgotten the french fries in my daughter's happy meal. The option to order at the kiosk was nice because it's supposed to save you the time of waiting in line.
