Ordered a McFlurry and they didn't bother to use the McFlurry machine. Just dumped M&M's on top of vanilla ice cream.

Wow, such a busy morning rush filled with majority tourists with some locals getting their breakfast or coffee in the morning. In my opinion, everyone should experience working in food and/or retail in their lifetime especially during high school and college time to know how to deal with customer service and busy mad rushes of people coming all at once. It makes you more understanding and compassionate when you are a customer yourselves in ordering food or trying on clothes in retail settings. People that have worked in the sevice and hospitality industries know the verbal, physical and mental abuse they take on from their employers and customers. That's why it's so hard to hire at these jobs in justifying the pay, bad management for little to no rewards and benefits for the employees. That's why I try to stick to the menu and not make their lives more complicated then it should be as a customer; at most, just a light ice request and less sweeter for my iced coffee orders. I always say my please and thank yous to anyone in the food, retail and service industries. No masks required to enter and COVID restrictions are relaxed but the staff still wears their masks in the restaurant. You can use two self serve kiosks or just wait in line to get your order. The kiosks at McDonald's usually doesn't work for me, so I just wait in line. It took a good 10 to 15 minutes for my food and drink but I came during the breakfast rush with about 20 people ahead of me, so it was expected. I haven't had the local breakfast platter in a while, they give it to you in a biodegradable container. I like that the eggs are made with butter and fluffy to eat and large portions of rice and a couple pieces of spam. I used to not be able to finish the platter in high school but now I can finish it in one sitting over a course of a hour. They accept cash and card payments at their registers with a person and card at their kiosk stations, if you have the McDonald's app downloaded on your phone for easier convenience. They gave me the large French vanilla ice coffee in a drink cup, which I appreciate because it's a larger portion than the regular clear coffee cup. Mix the drink with the straw so the sugar mixture doesn't stay on the bottom. It came out to a little over 11 dollars for breakfast, which is affordable compared to the 15 to 20 dollars per entree at other nearby locations. I would totally recommend coming here for your breakfast although the sitting area can get quite cold but it's nice to relax, eat and watch the tourists on their vacations. Only leaving a review bc I always thought it was cool that Hawaii has a spam, Portuguese sausage, egg, and rice plate. So of course it was on my list for something to try while on vacation. It's a good bfast plate and I wish we had it in CA. The only change I'd prefer which I know they can't offer is an over easy egg for a little runny yolk to mix with the rice but that'll have to be my twist when I decide to make it at home. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I actually get excited to eat McDonald's when I'm in Hawaii, and primarily their breakfast. The fact that you can order eggs, spam, sausage and rice, that actually tastes good from a McDonald's is quite amazing! Every time we go in the mornings, there is always a wait but totally worth it. We usually get the Local Deluxe Breakfast and this is usually enough for 2 people to share comfortably. My son likes McDonald's a lot and luckily for us, we found this place a few steps away from the hotel where we're staying. Unfortunately I had this bad experience today with the cashier who took my order. She was the queen of rudeness! If you have a bad day, don't bring it to work! Continuing our quest for haupia pie, we decided to check out the McDonald's Waikiki location since we were walking around the area. And would you know it, they had haupia pies! Yayyy! Our cashier, Said, was helpful enough to check the availability before telling us no. It seems like it's by request only because we had to wait 6 minutes for them to heat it up; and boy was it hot! I ordered the Local Deluxe breakfast platter. This came with white rice, eggs, Portuguese sausage, and SPAM. I also ordered a Haupia pie. This was my first time ever trying Portuguese sausage and I was surprised by how good it was. My favorite between the two was still the spam. I would have preferred the spam be a little more well done. The white rice was very tender and very good. The eggs were also tasty. The best part of the meal was definitely the Haupia pie though. If you have 45 minutes or an hour to waste in Waikiki this McDonalds is for you. At 6 am in the downtown area of Waikiki this is the only breakfast open. The service is slower than any native turtles you may see, most of the time only one of the three mobile order screens will be open and if lucky enough, the debit/credit card reader may work. On occasion you may be lucky enough to get one of the workers to help you, but I think you have a better chance of hitting the lotto. A hostess donut option is the only other available food to eat at a market down the road, but will cause less grief and irritation. read more

If you're walking in on the side of the building with the ramp, you will likely get a good whiff of urine. I like how they have a kiosks where you can order/pay for food without having to interact with another human.
