I was super excited to try the saimin ramen but was disappointed in how it tasted. The soup base was overly salty, the noodles did not taste fresh, and the toppings tasted fake. I would not recommend ordering the saimin unless you really want to try it. If you're looking for something filling, just get a burger instead. The fries I got were also not fresh. They tasted like they've been there were awhile and didn't taste as good as they usually did. The spam was good, but the Portuguese sausage and egg tasted so bad. A white young teen male working at the drive-thru counter laughed at my dad's forgetfulness of his order (suffers from early stages of dementia) while he was taking an order. He accidentally said Subway three times before correcting himself. He had no name tag but had blonde hair. I have his picture and the co-workers just watched him laughed for about two minutes in the most dramatic and loudest way. The manager was next to him and ignored him. So the place is improving on how it has been for the last 6 months. Management had issues with finding staff and it went down hill for a good 6 months. I have talked to the managers, I am a regular in the area, so I know the managers and talk to them about the issues. The new staff that they hired are more centered into themselves then the customers, but what do you expect for high school age kids. They have a good night manager, she had moved up from cashier to running the place over the years. She is trying to get the new group to work as a team and it is doing better. Food prep is good, the wait times are coming down, and improvements are being made. However compared to the mainland, your going to go into price shock if you are used to the prices on the mainland vs those here on Maui. Just remember we have to ship everything over from California. Recentily they repaired all the lighting in the parking lot and the beginning of the drive thru. It has helped out a lot. Still some more lights to get fixed under the awnings but the managers are trying to get the repair company to address them. The place is keep clean and spot less by the older gentleman who works the day shift. Nothing gets past him. Food quality is good, but the new 2 for 6 match leaves a little bit to be desired. My roommate tried it the other night. Instead of full size portions for the sandwiches, they have switched the sizes making the sandwiches on this deal smaller then you would get if you just order the regular size one. Didn't know they came in two sizes but he showed me the shrunken fish sandwich. I was going to give it over all a 2 but boosted it up as the effort of the team and management is improving it from a one. read more

I'm so sorry in so many ways - but I had to do this. Noodles hard, broth salty. One piece each of char siu and naruto. Their saimin was made 3 days before it was served to me (per the label on the cup lid.) Worse yet, the cup had a label saying serve before Oct 12th, which is a month from the date it was made! Ugh.. .but then again the burgers you are eating at any McD's probably have the same service life. The rest of their menu is the same as CA golden arches, and I only write this since there are regional differences. (as in saimin in HI and Rice burgers in China) So, saimin $3.09. DONT USE YOUR DEBIT CARD HERE!!! WARNING !! I used it there and was DOUBLE charged. I budget really well so after I ran errands and payed my bills I decided to use my last $4 in my card and get a quick bite to eat after a long day of running errands. So as it double charged me it sent my bank account into a spiral HELL !! All the payments a made that day was sent in to overdraft and now i owe the bank well over $100 dollars in fees due to their mistake. But the GM INSIST that they only charge me once!! McDs is amazingly flexible - from salads to buttermilk crispy chicken to taro pie... everyone should be able to find something to eat. I love that their breakfast menu is all-day. Definitely THE price performer for Kihei with their local breakfasts. Spam or Portuguese sausage with rice. You just have to be OK with scrambled eggs instead of runny eggs over easy like I like 'em. And don't expect your rice to be too sticky. But the dollar menu offers enough additional items at a good price to maintain your Type 2 diabetes. read more

Kihei is a yummy place to be but everywhere worth eating at has a line. One morning, we were hoping to be early birds- there were lines out the door for Kihei Caffe and The Cinnamon Roll Place at 7:30am. That's ok, McDonalds has the local deluxe platter: 2 slices of spam, 3 slices of portuguese sausage, scrambled eggs, and fluffy rice with no wait and the ability to order kona iced coffee and taro pies. Bomb breakfast and negligible wait times. It's worth going at least once the service was very polite too. There are a lot of chickens in the parking lot and they're harmless. read more

Oh, I know that you islander types like your taro bland or tangy as hell like auntie's poi, but I like it sweet. Therefore, I could not resist stopping by the drive-thru window when I learned that the Golden Arches had a taro pie. It's the same crispy fried pie as the prototypical apple or cherry pie, but its got purply-gray taro filling inside. It's got just enough taro taste so that you know it really is taro, but it's sweet like a dessert should be, so you won't be tempted to scoop out the filling with your hands and eat it with any lomi lomi salmon. Without this pie, McDonald's would be a one star event. read more

Horrible service. They NEVER get my order right. NEVER! I always have to repeat myself five times. I always have to call and tell them and then it's a lady that starts with an "Rita" or something and ask for my food that I already paid for and have to drive back to get when it eats into my time before work. (Literally) The older girl at the register today, 4/30/19 @ 9:15am, (the one with all the gold bracelets, was so slow and rude by slamming the sliding door open. Then they get my whole order wrong. Expect to pay anywhere from $1.00 to $3.00 more, depending on what you get. Stopped in for frozen yogurt and cold beverages as my husband and I had been checking out all of the Kihei beaches and wanted to cool off. They were out of frozen yogurt; I am under the assumption the machine was broken. No one knew what the story was. I also ordered a bottle of water and it was taken out of the mini fridge and it was warm. I asked for a cold water and it was like I just ordered chop suey at McDonald's. I hope this place gets its act together as I'm sure I'll be back in the area and need a cold refreshment and cool treat again soon. read more

The Mcdonalds experience depends on a lot of things. My burger was good my fries were a little cold but i wasn't dissatisfied and my girlfriends nuggest were "friggen awesome," because they were hot and crispy. So food gets 2 stars. -Now customer service. The guy at the. Counter was a friggen idiot!! My forgot to punch in my gfs mcdouble. Seriously how stupid or deaf to you have to be if someone is right in front of you ordering 2 items and you forget to punch in one of them. I could under stand if it was a large order but come on now!! Now with my order the same guy forgot my damn cup!!! I'M THIRSTY MOFO! - the last thing that bothered me was the fact that while my gf and I were eating the managers were yell at the employees and the work were cracking jokes and laughing like a pack of hyenas!!! Didn't put fries in the 2 meals I bought ($20). Went in to speak to manager and all she did was hand me fr... no apology..no words at all. Went to leave and doors were locked without signage (24-hr restaurant). Asked for no onions; got lots. No straws for drinks. No thank you from employees. Definite language issues. Dirty inside.
