I went to McD's for my grandson's 10-piece McNuggets treat on "our day" after school and...lost my fuel pump as we finished the order. Six employees and the manager came from the building to push my car to a safe spot, took us inside to wait for AAA and wouldn't take the $12 in gas they'd run across the street to buy & poured in to try to solve the problem before I called for the tow. Not ONE toot from behind me as this all played out; 12:20 on a Wednesday and nobody hit their horn! I'll go back to McD's anytime my grandson needs his "nuggies." Shout out to the McD's on the boulevard in San Diego! Because of my car being in the shop, that was the last day Caleb and I got to celebrate going to have our Wednesday afternoon together; his middle school has classes all day. I usually go to this McDonald's and always get the same thing every time I order and never had an issue but tonight was a different experience. I ordered number 4 medium with mocha frappe and if you look at the picture you can see that I got two bottom patty's. Also the patty was burnt and the meat was really nasty which I ended up trashing. I don't normally comment on national chains but was shocked when I found out that the McDonald's located at El Cajon and Texas has much higher prices than my McDonald's at Friars and Northside. An order of hashbrowns is $1.99 at the El Cajon location and $1.39 at the location near my home. I just thought others should know this large price variation within a couple of miles of each other. We ordered right different McFlurries at the speaker. The guy in the first window repeated it after we paid. Second window, guy repeated order but then said to go to third window. We did... and waited forever. Cars in the second window were getting their food as we waited. We saw some of the McFlurries sitting there melting. Couple minutes later, the window opens and we finally get ours. The lady closed the window as we see that were missing some. But she was gone. We tried getting the worker's attention to no avail. The ice cream is like soup already. We pulled out and had to go in and tell them what was missing. That took a couple extra minutes and by then the rest was soupy milk. Nice friendly cashier this morning- this place has been remodeled inside and out over the years. Always skeptical of the characters in here, but it was the morning and it was quiet empty. Coffee was just like I ordered. Cashier helped me use my mcdonalds app for a 2$ sandwich. Came out fast- the cashier even walked my food over instead of making me go pick it up. After many visits I've concluded this location is consistent. Consistently terrible. They spent a lot of money on renovating the building a few years ago, and just recently to install video menu boards and to give the dining room a more modern look. Unfortunately they should have spent that money on hiring better quality workers or retraining the existing ones. When I got there at 1pm today there were at least 8 customers waiting for their orders, the order board queue was full, the kitchen alarms were beeping like something was going to explode and at least 5 or 6 employees frantically scurrying around with nobody at the front registers to take an order. Some of the other highlights: their soda machines are always messed up, I don't know if they are purposely cheaping out on syrup but the Dr. Pepper always tastes like soda water. read more
