For many reasons, I do not frequent this establishment. I am sure that the food is good enough to have kept this business around for a long time, but it is not my go to. However, today I was in need of temporary sustenance to take on the day that I have. I stop by this branch because it looked clean and it seemed organized. McDonald's has been around for years and I expect a certain level of professionalism because this is a huge company. However, for whatever reason, anytime I do visit one of these establishments it always seems like employees are not happy or very disgruntled. I went through the drive-through which was busy because it is the breakfast hour and waited my turn to order. When I reached my turn, I could barely understand the customer service representative behind the microphone. I could not understand the muffled speech nor could I understand because the person had a heavy accent. I apologized several times because I could not understand and ask them to please repeat themselves. The cashier was so upset that they began to raise their voice at me. Because the drive-through has two separate kiosks, rather than explaining to me what she was trying to say, I heard her skip over to the other kiosk. This would not be an issue but it is an issue because I had been waiting and she decided to serve people who came after me simply because I could not understand her. I don't often get offended but I thought this was very rude and very unprofessional in the way that she decided to conduct herself. I understand that this is a fast food conglomerate and their money is made by being able to serve people quickly. However, this is also a customer service entity and customer service comes first. when she came back to take my order it was very rude, short, and there was no apology. When I drove up to the window to pay, she simply put on her hand and began to punch into the cashier as though I were a burden. I understand these people probably get it pretty bad on a daily basis from other disgruntled customers. And I know that this establishment has had its hardships in the past. This is however no excuse to treating customers in this way. it is hard to see any of their names because it is covered behind a green crosswalk jacket that it seemed all of them were wearing. on top of the muffled speech and the microphone that is not the greatest, they are wearing masks. This is nothing against masks but it does make it harder for people to hear what they are saying when they have other stuff over their face that stops them from speaking clearly. I do not know if this will be seen but if it ever is, I hope that this specific branch of McDonald's will take care of this. There is no need for anyone to be that rude and that upset especially when a customer is simply trying to understand what they are not able to clearly enunciate over the microphone. Said it before and will say it again. Silicon Valley is not the Bay Area. Silicon Valley is the trifecta of Sunnyvale, Moutain View and Santa Clara. That said, Silicon Valley is an evolution. A constant state of change and yet the same. Sort of like McDonald's. And that's the thing. You can go to Mickey Ds all over the country and the menu will be the same with the exception for those that are fortunate to have the McRib as a seasonal item. There are, of course, menu items that are unique to the overseas locations but were not talking about that. But for sure the shrinkflation is real as I noticed that ever shrinking breakfast sandwich and hash brown. The kicker is if you take your rice measuring finger and use it to measure the bottom of the coffee cup, you can see how much of that real estate is dedicated to your cup of joe. But for the most part this and the Lawrence Expressway location have bore witness to the evolving land and cyberscape. From semi-conductors to the gig economy, McDonald's has remained as a reliable source of stomach filling grub or an escape from the cubicle/office/clean room, etc, etc. Notable for this location is that it was once home to Mac Tonight and piano from commercials from the 1980s who also included advertisement characters Ernest the annoying 'hey Vern' fellow, Spuds Mackenzie the bull terrier shilling for Bud Light and the Noid representing Dominos. I often thought of Mac Tonight as the artist who sang the theme song to Moonlighting that starred Bruce Willis and Cybil Shepherd. Other than that, this location shares space with a Shell station and is not too far from other options such as Jack in the Box and Sizzler. The icon from back in the day is the now shuttered Peppermill is around the corner. You should have been there. Speaking of shuttered. The recently made over dining area is gutted to make way for COVID friendly dining. There are a few tables on the outside as an alternative. Hopefully we'll be able put that behind us as we get back to normal. Very impressive. Restaurant inside and out very clean. And the restroom was extremely clean. Service was fast.

If you have 20mins+ minutes to spare sitting at curbside pickup, then this place is for you. I had to walk into this place to let them know it's been well over "5 minutes" as quoted on the app. The woman at the register called out to everyone standing "everyone been helped?" No. Everyone has not been helped. There are three cars that have been waiting for as long as I have at curbside. I let her know how I've been waiting for a while for my order to be brought out and she just nonchalantly grabbed the bag that I noticed had been sitting there(other employees just walking past it) and placed it in front of me, no apologies, no reassurance. Anyway, I go here for something quick as my lunch periods are short. I don't recommend this location. I hope management checks on their staff at this location to make sure the food is being handled/stored in a proper way. I ordered and paid using the app, everything was fine until I was about half way through the breakfast burrito, it wasnt warm and it seemed soggy with water. This McDonald's is SO fancy!! Oh wow! Super clean and super spacious, when I walked in, I literally said, "WHOA, Fancy!" Needed to grab some dinner, quick for the night, and found this fine establishment! Walked in, and there were large touch screens that you can use to order. I didn't see an employee close by, so I thought that the touch screens were the only way that we could place our order. Well, the only downside, is that it took way longer than expected. Who knew there were so many choices and so many ways to customize an order? We later found out that indeed, you can order with an employee, as long as they were around. Which, of course, as soon as we were done placing our order, all the employees came out to take the orders of the people who had fallen in line. All good. We had a large order, and it was fulfilled in a timely and efficient manner. I needed extra sauce for my chicken nuggets, and they also delivered without being stingy! What really stepped up the experience at this McDonalds though, was the touch screens and individual seating areas that they had, clearly for children or older people (sure, why not!?), who wanted to eat, dine, and play. My friend and I were starving after a concert and In N Out turned us down twice so we thought we would drive to this McDonald's that states it's 24 hours, before our long hour drive back home. We were in line for a really long time and only told they were closed once we made it to the order window. No one came out and told the long line, that was clearly visible to the staff, that they were closed and not taking orders. My friend and I could have gone to another McDonald's or even made it home within the time we had to wait. Very frustrating and disappointing. Please update your hours on Apple Maps and multiple other sites or at least have someone tell the long line of patient and hungry customers that you are closed and not taking drive thrus. FOOD: I got off my shift at 7am and was starving so I came to this drive-thru at around 7:30am. My egg mcmuffin and hash brown tasted just fine. Usual McD's standards. SERVICE: There are 2 drive-thru lanes here, but only one was open since it wasn't busy. The guy who took my order spoke clearly and repeated back my order. He took my cash and gave my change without any problems and was prompt. Food was ready when I got to the window. OVERALL: A-OK 3 stars for everything going as should be. Easily one of the worser McDonald's I've been to, and i live very close so I have given them multiple tries and have repeatedly disappointed. To start just expect your fries to be stale and luke warm and the off chance you get them fresh they are under cooked. If you ever indulge in a milkshake just expect it to come with 1 to 2 other flavors in it besides the one you ordered and the lady who works the drove through the majority of times I've been there has such a sour attitude. Lastly my final issue, i tried ordering through the McDonald's app and the lady tried telling me the code i provided was from out of state so whatever i proceeded to pay with another card but right as i pulled out of the drive through i got a notification that the McDonald's app charged my apple pay as well so i went inside and spoke with the manager where they basically told me there was nothing they could do and i would have to dispute the charge with my card. read more

I wasn't planning to eat at McDonald's this week. In fact, I haven't been to a Mickey D's in some time. I didn't put a lot of thought into it, but somehow I was in the drive-thru looking at a menu full of mostly unfamiliar, fancy, artisan type stuff I'm sure the McDonalds corporate culinary people synthesized to improve perception of a place a bit long in the tooth, but I wasn't here to try new things. I came here to sin. Then I saw it: #4, Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese Meal with a Coke. I also want an Apple Pie, cuz yeah. The drive thru took a lot longer than expected. Long enough for me to have a moment of buyer's remorse and contemplate escaping without completing the transaction, but paying at the first window and picking up at the second meant I would have to run the gauntlet. So I stuck it out. At the second window my prize was handed to me: a bag of classic American comfort junk food. The smells coming from the bag were familiar. I opened it and grabbed a french fry, possibly McDonalds best menu item. It tasted cleaner than I remember, but still the same. McDonald's fries taste like no others on the planet. Some of the best. By the time I made it back to my office to eat they were gone. I plucked them one-by-one then handful-by-handful from the bag and into my face while I drove. Returning to the office to finish my meal I opened the box holding my very own, personal Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese. Another familiar smell wafted out. It looks the same, tastes the same. You could blindfold me and give me a bite and I would instantly know where it came from. Every part of this burger was identical to every one I've consumed through the years, and I guess that's the magic of McDonalds. I'm told they do a ton of food engineering to make it so, and that's not a surprise. This stuff doesn't look or taste wholesome or healthy in any way, but with an ice cold Coca Cola it hits the spot. The hot apple pie was not hot at all, only lukewarm and not very tasty at all. These have changed, not for the better, through the years. I could've-should've skipped this. Meh. I'm not sure when I'll return to a McDonalds, but it will happen. I won't try any of the new stuff. There will be fries involved. And a Coke. And a Quarter Pounder with Cheese or some Mcnuggets. I know I shouldn't be expecting much from McDonald's, but I've had enough of their lack of care for their customers. Every time my family and I come here for the drive thru, we've always received our order incorrect. So we figured that we not only verify our order when ordering but also verify our order at the 1st window when we pay. But apparently, the employees taking orders don't care much because when we verify our order with them, they just say "yeah, 1st window please". I'll give an example which actually just happened 15 minutes ago: When coming for breakfast, we ordered "an egg white delight sandwich with Canadian bacon AND regular bacon". When we saw our order on the screen, it said "SUB Canadian Bacon, Add regular bacon". So we corrected them and let them know we want BOTH kinds of bacon. When we verified that with them, they just said "yeah it's okay". They didn't change the order that we saw on the screen. When we got to the 1st window to pay, we verified (for the 2nd time) that the sandwich had BOTH kinds of bacon. This kid didn't even look at the screen and said "yeah. Your total is -". Like... really?! So we paid and went to the next window to pick up our food. Low and behold, the sandwich was wrong. We told the lady who gave us our food that we wanted BOTH bacons and she didn't understand so she called the supervisor over. The we told the supervisor the same thing. For whatever reason, the supervisor didn't understand either! Like seriously?! Then the supervisor called the manager over!!! REALLY?! How hard is it to understand that we wanted BOTH bacons?! It shouldn't take 5 PEOPLE to fix an order. Luckily the manager was very nice and added the regular bacon for us. At this point, there was a long line behind us. But come one...it shouldn't be THAT hard if they got it right the first time. McDonald's is supposed to be FAST FOOD. And they need to learn to care about their customers more. But like I said in the beginning: You can't expect much from McDonalds. *UPDATE AFTER OPENING THE SANDWICH* The sandwich was still wrong. Waited over an hour to pickup a curbside order. Went inside after 15 minutes and I couldn't get anyone to even acknowledge me for the following 45 minutes. There were another 10 or so customers all with the same issue. They seemed more worried about the drive through and sorting sauce packets than taking care of customers that we're waiting for food for pickup. Good chance orders will mess up and they wont supply you with straws, napkins or a condiment. They just don't give a fuck with your order. It's happened so many times our order I was flagged on Uber Eats that reported too many times that I had missing or incorrect items. We live within 5 min, average delivery time is at least 10-15min for us, but expect staged (food left out) food almost every order. Food Quality is Close-to-stale in quality so they were probably prepped during rush and they'll pulling from available stock. Temperature is about average to Mildly-warm. I only ordered a Filet of Fish sandwich thinking I was going to be paying under $4.00 dollars, but when the cashier gave me the sandwich and told me the price I was shocked.
