Do not stop here! This has to be my worst ever drive up experience! Have been on the edge with McDonal's due to ever increasing prices, but this is insane. Only doing drive up that is stretched out into the street. No lobby service ok, but they have a walk up window that is not being used. 4 breakfast sandwiches were over $24. Firstly, don't be put off by the yelp reviews here...Some people obviously don't understand supply and demand, and the fact that a MASSIVE tourist town, that is practically made up entirely of tourists, is going to have inflated prices. Yes the prices are high, but the service, quality, and presentation are fantastic. the store is incredibly clean and the food comes out truly looking like the menu-board pictures, and tasted much better than normal mcdonalds food. read more

Fast and cheap. We needed a breakfast for our big family that was less then $100 on our trip. These breakfast sandwiches were higher priced then normal but less then other places in town. The drive through was fast and the employees were super friendly. read more

We stayed in west Yellowstone last week, went to McDonalds twice for a quick breakfast. The employees were awesome, trying to let busloads of tourists know that they cannot order more than 20 items. A bus driver wanted to order a huge amount of burritos. The tourist bus driver was VERY pushy, but the Manager held her own! All we wanted was a fast breakfast, and they provided! Chinese tourists are bossy folks who think they own the place, just for showing up. I have been in the service industry for most of my life. Came here for breakfast one morning to get a quick, cheap start to the day. Worst idea ever. Took longer than normal to get through the drive up line. We ordered an Iced Mocha and they gave us a frappacino at the window. When we told them we wanted an Iced Mocha the response was we don't have those. Why not say that when we ordered it??!! Ok, sure... This is a McDonald's. Expectations are already set. But this was really bad for any McDonald's. We ordered three hot cakes and an egg mcmuffin. Did the drive through on our way in to Yellowstone. We got one pack of butter and one syrup for three orders. No straw or napkins. I was staying in west Yellowstone and went to this location and as I was waiting in line for my food I noticed a huge cockroach on the INSIDE of the window. And no employees did anything about it and it was pretty obvious this huge bug was inside the restaurant. read more

I don't think the prices are higher than where I live. This McDonald's doesn't serve latte's. Darn. Usually, McDonald's coffee is good, but this stuff was major weak... Very small McDonalds, and packed. No complaints on the staff, though. Like most everyone I've met in Montana and Wyoming, they're all smiling and nice. Five stars for that. -1 Star for coffee. Bad service. No seating. Manager was obviously promoted for diversity and not ability. Prices are high. Bathroom is tiny. For as busy as this place is, a remodel could easily be afforded. I bet there is maybe 6 tables and 8 stools to sit in a restaurant that is always packed. read more

Went through the drive through after a very long day in Yellowstone and too tired to cook. We were completely shocked with the bill charging us $6.50 for each burger & $3.50 each for fries. How can this location charge so much for the same thing we get at other locations. I am shocked that McDonalds Corp would allow this even if it may be a franchise. read more

Delicious Mc Donald's! No line, food came out fast, tasted good: hot & fresh. Friendly cashier chick. Prices are higher. A regular cheeseburger is $1.99. Their machine to make frappes was out of service for cleaning, machine & price is why I didn't give a 5 star rating. Lady was checking bathroom to make sure it was clean and it was. Not expecting much, and boy did this McDonald's deliver. Breakfast sandwiches felt like they were an hour old. Coffee may have been the worst I've ever tasted. McDonald's coffee typically isn't "bad". This was like stale battery acid, with a hint of something else. Something indescribable. Since we were in West Yellowstone for a week, I hit up this place again. Certainly it was a fluke? Nope. This place can consistently make bitter battery acid coffee. read more

This was bad even for a McDonalds. We got there at 9:50 (a good 40 minutes before the breakfast cutoff time) and they told us that they couldn't serve us breakfast food other than the extra stuff that they had already made earlier in the day. Then, when we got it, the food was nearly cold and tasted pretty lousy. Sadly, this was the only breakfast fast food in the area, so we had to eat here all 3 days we were at our resort. Each time they forgot something, whether it be cream in the coffee, syrup for our pancakes, or even extra ketchup for our hash browns! Was going to order but noticed the crowd waiting for their food standing around near the edge of the cash register area. There were about 20 waiting, no joke. Asked a group of waiting customers how long they've been waiting and a couple said 30 mins. Didn't order and left. Most of the places we stayed at on our trip included breakfast, but not the Three Bears Lodge (that was not a good review either), so I headed out to pick up what I thought would be the best value breakfast while the family was getting ready for a day in Yellowstone. I ordered the exact list of items that I had a few days earlier in Missouri. In Missouri, the total was $18+change, but here it was over $32. Now, I understand that a tourist area is bound to have higher prices, but this is crazy. Stopped for a Sausage and Egg Mc Muffin for breakfast before entering the park. Sandwich was fresh and good, but then it should have been for the inflated price this place charges. The sandwich was around $0.50 more than other Mc Donald's we have been to. The soda that is any size for $1. At every other Mc Donald's we have been to is $2.49 at this location. I guess they figure their business is the tourists passing through, and it is OK to gouge them. My advice is avoid this place and eat breakfast at one of the excellent locations in town such as the Running Bear Pancake House. Don't accept being ripped off by McDonalds. Horrible service which is only outdone by the food. When using the drive thru I always ask if the requested sauces are in the bag. Looks like I actually need to hold up the line and check for myself. When I returned to pick up my sauce I found that the individual who lied about including the sauce was none other than the manager! After charging such high prices do they really need to save a few pennies by shortchanging customers? Most people probably do not return and complain which is what thay are most likely counting on. Now to the food. The fries were cold, hard and soooo over salted. The rolls were hard and the lettuce must have been at least a month past the expiration date. Stopped by and are at this West Yellowstone McDonald's tonight. We were the only people in line and it took 5 minutes for any employee to wait on us. One female employee wanted to help us, but ahead didn't speak English. One male employee had ton load up the McDonald's Cafe' machine, the other maleninthinknwas cooking. We ordered value meals, Big Mac and egg McMuffin, which according to the menu comes with coffee. Instead of coffee, they charged $.59 for pop. When my wife took the pop cup back to get coffee, the male employee crumpled up the pop cup she handed him and said he would have to make coffee. By that time, the food was getting cold and we just left. I have stopped at this Mcdonald about 3 times a year, and it consistently has a poor customer service culture, maybe this is the Mexican way of running a McDonalds, since all the employees are Mexican. It's a limited menu, often times not serving for example any Ice cream menu items. No apologies ever given, no greetings when you come up to the counter to order. This treatment sticks in my mind, and I don't go to my hometown mcdonalds as a result of the lingering memories of the worst Mcdonald in the state of Montana, maybe the Northwest. So sad, especially since they are the only fast food franchise in town. Yellowstone National Park had over 4 million people come thru the Park last year. How many visitors from all over the world stopped here, and feel the same as I do, no more McDonald's food unless it's the only game in town. McDonald's corporate control should either pull the franchise, or close this store down. This is a dark cloud on the brand that Ray Kroc (former owner) had worked for. read more
