I have been a customer since 1998, when they were on Irving Park Rd in Elgin. Purchased our first Honda there. Moved to Randall Road with you and purchased our other cars from there. Always took our cars there for oil changes and whatever else that it might need. We'll, this past January, took it in for an oil change and $811.64 later it was done. Still needed a few more fixes, but decided to take it closer to home. Walking distance, compared to a 25 minute drive. They said that my "wheel lock key" was missing. I called Honda, well to make a long conversation shorter, they basically accused me of removing it. I don't even know what it is. The mechanic drove my car out to Elgin to get the key, which they said was the right one. Only to get back and it didn't work. Honda then told me they must have done something. McGrath Honda staff erroneously attached my vehicle plates to another vehicle at the time of purchase in August 2025. In December 2025 I started receiving red-light tickets. I went to CPD who noticed that the plates attached to my SUV belong to someone else and that the car running those tickets had my license plates. This was a negligent mistake caused my McGrant Honda. I returned to McGrath, they removed the wrong license plates from my car and called in the other driver and gave me, his plates -my plates. They offer no assistance paying for the tickets I did not cause. As a result, I am currently faced with citations attributed to another vehicle and must either pay the penalties or contest the violations despite not being the owner or operator of the vehicle shown in the tickets violations. read more

Always had a good experience w/ Honda. I bought 2 cars there. I had my cars serviced there always. Last Sunday was a horrible experience as I scheduled for oil change and tire rotation at 8:15 pm. Was there at 8 am coming from a 12 hour shift and was told it will be doneby 9:23. Inspection showed a nail on the front tire and was told another hour since they were short staffed. Great Experience purchasing the car through this dealership. Neha was great and very helpful through the entire process. Our only bad experience was that someone removed my husbands plates on his vehicle by accident? His car wasn't even part of the purchasing process. Someone at the dealership just randomly removed his plates for no reason. They claim it was a mix up? He then drove home without realizing he was missing both of his plates. Luckily he was not pulled over. We were at the dealership Saturday night and had to wait until Monday to get them back. Predatory Upselling and Terrible Customer Service -- Avoid This Service Center I brought my mom's van in for a routine oil change, and the service center staff strongly pushed a $500 transmission flush. They made it sound urgent, so I agreed. Later, I found out the transmission had already been flushed less than 10,000 miles ago--an unnecessary service given that transmission fluid typically lasts 30,000+ miles. New transmission fluid is bright red, so there is no way they didn't know what they were doing. It's clear this was a misleading and unnecessary recommendation designed to wring more money from me. Since then, I've tried calling multiple times to ask why the flush was pushed so aggressively. No one has returned my calls. Meanwhile, they've been spamming my mother with texts and emails saying her van needs more work--despite it being well-maintained. This kind of predatory upselling and lack of accountability is unacceptable. If you value honest service and transparent communication, go somewhere else. This dealership is focused on maximizing profits, not customer care. read more

An odd & poor communicative experience. ON MONDAY: Salesman Evan was all good until we came to pick up the car. He had told us that he wanted to be there on that day we picked it up on THURSDAY and the car would be prepped properly and ready to go. He told me that it was his fault. He forgot to have the car 'dealership ready.' Car had been fully paid for on MONDAY. However THURSDAY we spent over 3 hours at the dealership mostly sitting watching the customer empty showroom as Evan left the desk multiple times to photo copy. We waited for an open finance manager and were not helped until I found a guy that would help us. Paul Nero who was an efficient man with our time but took offense at me asking a question or two. Scheduled service for warranty issues at McGrath Honda in St. Charles, IL. They stated the one warranty issue will require me to agree to pay $185 for them to determine if the issue is indeed covered under warranty. After they look at it and they determine it is covered by warranty, I would not be charged. But if was not covered I lose my $185 or can apply it to the repair Charging me for them to determine if something is under warranty is disingenuous and has all the appearances of being a scam or moneygrab. I received a coupon in the mail for a full synthetic oil change, I made my appointment with AI-Alex. She mentioned my 2011 Honda CRV. Told her I now own a 2022 Honda CRV. She said no problem. They will honor the coupon. So when I was checking in for my appointment they would not accept the coupon because it was for my old car. Said AI-Alex should not have told me this. So I call when I get home and got the same answer. Another guy called me later to ask me why I missed my appointment. I told them I did show up and they would not accept my coupon. Again, more concerned as to why AI told me they would accept the coupon. 3 guys, all focusing on their AI problem, not the customer, Does not make sense to me as to why they would let a customer drive off while 6 or 7 mechanics were standing around doing nothing. I'm a four time Honda owner with three of them bought here. They've had my car since Friday with a "check engine" issue. I was told this morning, Monday, that although expensive ($1,900!) it would be done today. I verified at 3:45 they said yes come get it. Uber'ed over to the store and I have been sitting here at least ninety minutes. Numerous phone calls with Adam the sales manager who was understanding and helpful. I narrowed my search down to a 2014 Rubicon and we agreed on a price and the next morning. I got a phone call that there was a problem with the engine. It needed a new transfer case, and they put one in at no extra charge to me. He went above and beyond in regards to Customerservice. update Bought a beautiful g37xS 4 days later Check engine came on was told it was a sensor, came out to 1400 for the whole service, a sensor that does not even cost 300 oem, very disappointed walked out with 160 less for a diagnostic after taking it 3 times to get checked but not being able to get a loaner due to few information on the requirements to get one so I could leave my vehicle to get serviced, 2 days later after receiving a we are still playing catch up message from my service advisor I received an answer. A sensor for 1400 :) very disappointed and will be seeking further action, also my check engine light was deleted when I picked up my vehicle leading me to think it was deleted before sold to me aswell. read more

Worst experience ever buying a brand new 2025 car. Paul the "so called manager" never responds to texts even after he provided his phone number to work out the issues. This has gone on for weeks as the new car they sold continues to get 1/2 the gas mileage it should and there is an issue with the heat. The windows continue to not clear. Never have I dealt with a dealership that is so unprofessional. This will be the last car we ever buy from them again. I brought our 2019 Ridgeline in to have the fuel pump replaced, as Honda had issued a recall on the part. I assume the work was performed as promised, in the timeframe Noki estimated. However, I had a problem when picking up the vehicle. After receiving the paperwork at the cashier, which included a $1,800 laundry list of additional work recommendations, she sent someone to retrieve the vehicle. After waiting for a while, I went out to the staging area to see why it was taking so long. Our Ridgeline was backed-up to the north wall of the staging area, with the engine running (and why not - they don't pay for the gas). Our truck was blocked by another vehicle. I summoned a porter and told him I needed to leave. He acknowledged, and he and another porter searched for the keys to the blocking vehicle. They did not find them. Finally, one of the porters came over to help me navagate out of the spot and leave. As for the laundry list, the top item was to replace the windshield wipers. I just did that last Sunday, for half the cost that McGrath was asking. You folks are in the business of earning my business. You did not help that cause with this latest visit to McGrath Honda. read more
