I'm just visiting the area so not sure what to expect for the price. I spent over $45 for a couple drinks and a mediocre meal. Service was good, but I figured the food would be better for the price. The Alaska wild sockeye salmon was dry and lots of bones. The salad that came with the meal wasn't great. I got mixed veggies as a side and it was really bland. Right from the start ... the hostess was welcoming & professional Sergio, our server, took excellent care of us. Professional, friendly. Our table of 6 was seated in a booth. The music was quiet enough that we were all able to visit and comfortably hear each other. We enjoyed every meal ordered: Parmesan halibut, Hazelnut sole, Rainbow trout, Seafood pasta & my pear, blue cheese, candied walnut salad with added bacon. The sourdough bread & butter served before the meals was crusty outside, soft & flavorful on the inside. And then dessert! Oh Yum!! Blueberry white chocolate cheesecake (Cheesecake Factory), Mud Pie (tall slice of ice cream - coffee & vanilla; on deliciously crumbly chocolate crust; drizzled with chocolate sauce & sprinkled with almond slivers); warm marionberry cobble with vanilla ice cream on top (looks like an adorable mid-size pie). Every dessert was scrumptious. Overall atmosphere is dated. But generally in good shape. The dinner salad is dated also - iceberg lettuce, grape tomatoes, radish slices, peas - but it is generally sized & fresh. We would definitely go here again! read more

The service (Gwen) was fabulous, the food was great and I wouldn't hesitate to go back the next time I'm in town. Two slight downsides to my visit were the waitstaff the seated me gave the impression that he really didn't want to be there, the place was almost empty at the time of my visit but I got put in the back 40, secondly is more of an issue with a fellow diner that complained about a piece of fish that was under cooked but rather than letting the waitress return it to be cooked a little longer he demanded a fish sandwich to go and then proceeded to continue eating the initial meal. Definitely reeked of scamming a free meal to me. read more

We were seated immediately. No waiting. Nice. Warm and cozy ambiance. Brightly lit. Browsed the menu. Decided on fish n chips (my husbands meal) and Parmesan crusted halibut for me. Was served a small (short fat breadstick sized) bread and butter and drinks. Husband received salad, very nice except for the peas. And I received my cup of clam chowder. Very good. Husband was served his meal. Lacking in amount of tarter sauce. He shouldn't have to ask for more, it should be served with more than enough. My halibut was slightly over cooked and shredded Parmesan was sprinkled on top not even melted. But was overall pretty good. It's to bad they closed the one in Milwaukie Or! It's one the best fish house ever! They had the best blacked Halibut and the best shrimp!

My husband and I eat here usually once a month as we love their pan fried oysters. Tonight I ordered key lime pie martini one of the main ingredients is Malibu Rum...the drink came and it was terrible it needed something sweet...the bartender and the sever came over and were puzzled why it didn't taste good...I said I feel like it needs more Malibu - bartender says "oh I'm out of Malibu I just added regular rum" huh! Really?!?! Gross! She did make me another adding a different coconut rum much better! Seriously I would rather be told they are out and give me the option to change drinks! We both ordered pan fried oysters...my husband likes his veggies steamed soft - the server ensured she would let the cook know...nope they were close to raw - blanched! (My meal was perfect) we were finished by the time the corrected veggies came out. Boy...I wish I could say better things about McGrath's. From the first walk through the door when the concierge was trying to understand how to work their tablet, to an apparently mix-up with seating the second half of our party in another part of the restaurant (after we'd told the concierge who and what to look for) to the lackluster all-you-can-eat plate, the only shining star of the evening was our server - Melissa (?). She made sure that all of our needs were covered and even provided a to-go box for one of our party (my impression was that this is a no-no with all-you-can-eat diners?). Between that, and the trip from SE Portland to Vancouver - because there isn't a local McGrath's in our area - there's no reason to rush back here. read more

First time trying this place out and recommend you find somewhere else unless your really needing a seafood fix. The best way I can describe the food is like ordering from a Denny's or Shari's. The food was ok at best. The service was not great. One of our parties had their order wrong and didn't get there meal until we were ready to go. Server never came for refills on our drink but she was very friendly. Won't come back unless they seriously overhaul their food and service. I had the halibut Fish and Chips. Fish was pretty decent and the fries were good. The Halibut fish and Chips were the only thing I'd recommend here. read more

This hidden gem Washington state is a must go to if you're in the area stopped in for a late lunch early dinner as were seated properly seated, staff was really energetic at making sure we made the right choices. We all had different starters had the grilled oysters and they were fresh, bread and butter. We also had the oyster shooters, a proper one with vodka and don't forget the chowder and fisherman stew. I definitely would recommend stuffed salmon dishes. The pasta I believed to be made in house and is served perfectly al dente and delicious. The jambalaya was also fantastic. I even heard the burgers are good. They're only reason why I'm locking the 5 star I had the long berry tea it wasn't to my liking wife had $1 million margarita it was just OK but put all that aside. If you just concentrate on the dish, the ambience, the setting the food choices. This place is a five star in my book. read more

I'd give a 5 but our first server ruined that. We showed up about 6 got seated right away. Took almost ten minutes for our first server to show up. We ordered and she didn't know the all you can eat special that the sale was still going and she said it ended. But we showed her the internet special ad from your website that goes through the end of next month. After waiting a while my wife got her soda but my beer just sat on the bar waiting for me. We finally asked the kid who seated us to go ask someone to bring me my beer. The bartender came over and apologized right away. Another roughly 10 minutes goes by. No bread no app no nothing. Even a check in from our server. And mind you she never came to see if I got my beer. So finally we've been there almost 30 minutes hardly drinks only and we ask and see if we can transfer to the bar. Here comes the 4 stars. This would have been a zero at this point. Tyler asks and sees if we're good checks what we orders and within minutes he was back with our bread and apps. Boom. Few minutes later clam chowder shows up. Boom. Then dinner is delivered after that. It was super good!! Super happy super friendly boom. We regret not starting our night at the bar but when we got there it was hopping. No wonder Tyler's a stud. Our original waitress could learn something. Trust me I'm not one to bail I have more than enough patience but when you can't even come say hi or keep our drink full then you need to go back to training. The also funny part was she told us the special had ended. No wonder why she probably hates having to put in more all you can eat orders after seeing how she ignores everybody. The bar tender was on the ball helping other guests keep their plates full with the same special. Give Tyler a raise. This is the worst place starts out we wait 15 minutes to even get water. Then doesn't even take our order the waitress went back behind the bar and started waiting on others. After that she finally came took our order then waiting for my salad and my husband's chowder our hot food showed up. I got a steak and he ordered halibut and shrimp then shrimp still had the shell skins and my steak was like shoe leather that I couldn't cut with a steak knife when I said something to the waitress she kinda rolled her eyes and said let me get the manager some young lady should up that look like she just graduated but why is it she said let me take it off your bill ( I would hope so sense I couldn't cut it with a steak knife) plus I also said something about the salad and chowder didn't and all see said was sorry please when you go out to have a nice dinner and spend 100.00 that doesn't grow on a tree all I can get is a sorry please what happened in taking pride in waiting on customers and as a manager making sure food doesn't look like it was burnt read more

We came to McGrath's Fish House for dinner and decided we may not be back. When we arrived there was no waiting and we were seated at the very back of the place; although we did have a window. We ordered a half dozen oysters for appetizers and stuffed prawns for an entree. The entree should be named "shrimp with side of stuffing". We had garden salad for the other choice of side. We were disappointed to see shrimp not prawns. Which should reflect the price of the meal. Again I'm sure I may not be back; before the evening was over I had experienced something I don't wish on my worst enemy. It took all night to get rid of the meal I had consumed. Consider me dissatisfied, It seems McGraths would have learned how to perform decent takeout after 3 months of Covid 19! I am staying at a hotel 100 yards away from this location so I chose to do takeout and ordered halibut fish and chips with a side salad on their website. I walked over and picked up the meal, got back to my room. There were no napkins and no fork! Now I ask the reader, how do you eat a tossed salad without tools? I paid almost $20 including tip and the employees don't give you service that you are paying for! I am finished with this local vendor after multiple disappointments! They failed to deliver something so basic as a fork to consume a "takeout" meal! Due to their lack of attention to essential service and basic supplies, I can't recommend this store!
