It's crispy fried chicken with with fresh fruits and vegetables for a medley of sweet, savory and spicy flavors. The service was subpar compared to what some of the other reviewers said, the owner essentially told us to pick a table and pretty much left us to our own devices. The food took a while as well--we got the half and half. The soy was alright, nothing too spectacular. The other one was some kind of sweet, cherry (?) jam thing that didn't go well with the chicken at all. It felt like it was just thrown in, and there was wayyy too much of that jam. Neither of us liked it. The whole meal wasn't worth what we paid for. Overall ambiance was okay, very dark inside contrasted by the tvs he had of kpop groups performing.

Happies is located in Arts District and I came here on a Sunday dinner and didn't have any problems with parking. But, I can see how it might be hard to find if you come during peak hours. The restaurant was pretty empty. First thing I noticed was that there were tons of employees but no one really said anything. Since there was no one ordering, they were all standing around. You can just order at the kiosk but I wanted to ask a few questions but was kind of left to fend for myself. I ended up ordering the chicken tenders and chicken tenders with salad. I thought the restaurant ambience was nice. And after waiting for about 10 minutes, my order came out. They gave me extra sauce but again no explanation on why the extra sauce was provided. As for the food, I thought the chicken was kind of bland. I expected some Sichuan style but hardly any spice on the chicken. Once of the sauces was a Sichuan chili crisp, which gave the chicken more taste. Maybe the chicken was bland because I was supposed to dip it in the sauces? Aside from that, the other sauces were average (ranch and sweet/sour sauce). The salad was definitely a huge miss. They didn't dress the salad properly and only put dressing on top, so I just got a bunch of romaine lettuce at the end. The best part of my meal was the fries, which was crispy and fresh. Also, the fries were pretty generous. I think that the food was just average. Probably will not come back here but glad I came to check out what the hype was about.

Love it when I stumble into absolute goodness I've been to a fried chicken joint a time or two. Even found a few diamonds among broken glass. This joint however, they got it right Nestled in what looks like an industrial zone and a kin to dive a bar and an AA meeting place, is Humble Bird. A straight basic fried chicken joint that serves out Memphis hot sandos that are juicy, warm, and oh, so good. Definitely in my top five. Definitely. I did medium heat, which really wasn't warm to me, but it was flavorful and you could actually taste the floral of peppercorn. The pickles were crunchy and the slaw had something secret. I'm thinking it was reddish added, but I'm not sure. Either way it was great and went perfect on the sandwich . I also got a side of their spiced up fries and, though I'm not a big fries guy, these are spot on. The chef that came up with this mix of spices and herbs, nailed it. It's definitely not close to me, but I would definitely find a way to return. Probably try the cheese melt chicken sando next Whomever lives near here or if YOU happen to in the area, try it. I think you'll be satisfied. (Note: the sando id much bigger live) Enjoy

Visited for the first time in April 2026 :)…read more The Food (!!!): - HOLY MOLY. Excellent chicken sandwich, but the corn ribs IMO were the star of the show (but this is coming from someone who really, really loves a good corn on the cob). - The corn ribs were flavorful, well-seasoned, and super juicy!! And the portion was definitely more than it looks, especially when eaten alongside the sandwich! - The chicken sandwich was equally full of flavor. The chicken was tender in the center and crispy on the edges in the best way. The coleslaw inside was fresh, and the buns were nice and soft! The marinade used for the chicken leans a little sweet, so if that's your jam then you'll like this sandwich. (Personally I prefer a more savory profile, hence my personally ranking the corn ribs #1.) :) Parking: - Parking is tough for the area; it took us a while to find a spot. We ended up street parking a few blocks away and walking over. Dining in: - The line got long QUICK and there was a constant stream of orders (both for dine-in and carry-out) while we were eating there. There's also minimal seating in the restaurant itself, just a few tables available--so be prepared for that as well! - Design, branding, and interior aesthetic were all nice and cohesive; I appreciated looking at it all while we dined. :) All in all, wouldn't mind coming by again!

We got miraculously close parking and ordered the chicken tenders, a chicken sandwich and some Mac and cheese. (Also, a coke and a Pellegrino.) After a short wait our food arrived. The portions were HUGE. The tenders were piping hot and tasty, the chicken sandwich was crispy and hot and slightly sweet. And the kale cabbage slaw was a very nice addition that added a cool crunch to the sando. The habanero ranch was SO good and the honey mustard wasn't really my taste. The Mac and cheese was spiral pasta, piping hot and so very rich and cheesy. Yum. Normally I'd be bothered when I get anything other than macaroni elbow noodles but this was too good to be critical. My son got a chocolate chip cookie to go and he loved it. Next time we'll try the potato salad and the corn ribs. The service was friendly and there was ample seating inside. Excellent. We'll be back. 9/10
