I try to dine at a different place every time I visit the Original Farmers Market in L.A. It can be difficult trying to decide what place to eat at because there is such a variety of options here. I was craving something on the light side for lunch and stopped here at Market Chicken. They have a variety of chicken, salads, wraps with some side choices on their menu. They also roast whole rotisserie chicken fresh daily. The combination choices included white or dark meat and your choice of breast, thigh or wing. I think what I was really drawn to here at Market Chicken were the side choices. They have black beans, veggie rice, roasted veggies, etc. Almost all of their side choices sounded pretty healthy. This was the meal that I needed for the day and I was glad I came across this place. Market Chicken is located next the large open seating area at Original Farmers Market.

Market chicken is slow-roasted rotisserie chicken that looked amazing but then when my order came out I felt underwhelmed. The chicken was not as juicy as I was thinking it would be. But the potato salad is on point and I would say it's pretty good! For this place just selling chicken, I would think they would make it on point. Still, though this was an ok spot to try.

The rotisserie chicken here is very good. The ambiance being that of Farmer's Market is also very good. The service leaves a lot to be desired as they try to upsell you all the time rather than fully meeting your needs. They mostly just stand around instead of doing something. The green sauce is very good but the sides aren't good at all. I made the mistake of getting sides last time and I very much recommend against getting anything but the whole rotisserie chicken. The sides and service both leave a lot to be desired but the rotisserie chicken alone is worth the 4 stars I give. Thanks

Super nice staff. Great price and huge portions. You have the option between original or spicy chicken. We probably should have tried tried the spicy chicken as the original one didn't have a whole lot of flavor.

Market Chicken is located within the Farmers Market at the Grove. Friend and I decided to eat grab a bite here and there were no lines. Prices aren't bad but we're found everything just okay. Chicken, fries, potato salad had no major issues but the flavors were just not amazing. It wasn't dry though so points for that! Because there are so many food spots at The Farmers Market, I don't see myself getting food from Market Chicken again.

Good thing yelp is here to tell you about the sauce before you go. Ah yes that green sauce I'm talking about. Had to ask for it but I'm glad I did! Wish it just came with the half chicken combo but it didn't. Chicken was delicious and loved the vegetables. Nice beans.

    "Roasted potatoes" allegedly.

A big old skip. Been open for a week. Maybe they will get better. The chickens are tiny. What seemed like a reasonable price for 2 pieces of chicken and 2 sides became outrageous when I got my order. Think about a bird slightly bigger than a Cornish game hen. The "roasted potatoes" must have been roasted yesterday. Slightly warm , very rubbery, as if they had been sitting around a while. Mixed greens fine, just bland with 2 halves of a cherry tomato. Like from a bag you get at the supermarket. The green sauce was the best thing. The wrap was likewise bland and uninspired. There are a lot of better places to eat at the farmers market.

This was my first time here, and I had a great experience. I met my wife here for lunch during her lunch break. I brought our kiddos with me; the place had food for the kiddos as well. My kids ate chicken nuggets, which is actually a decent portion for a kids' meal; we had leftovers from the kids' meal alone. Then I got wings, and my wife got a sandwich. The wings were delicious. I don't even know what flavors I got because I picked unique ones I had never tried before, and they were some of the best-tasting wings I ever had. The wings were juicy and crispy while the sauce was on point. My favorite item was actually their mango juice; it was so good, especially in this early summer heat. Damn, what a meal! I ordered 12 wings and had about 4 left that I got to eat for dinner. Took plenty of sauces home. The food was on point, and I can't wait to come back and try some other items. My wife says their chicken sandwhiches are fire.

The restaurant is located at the Beverly Center and does not validate parking. The good news is that parking is relatively affordable at $1 per hour. Since I don't eat meat or chicken, I checked the menu online beforehand and found several options that looked appealing. Unfortunately, once we were seated, we were given a completely different menu. When I asked about it, our server, Lindsey, explained that the menu I had seen online isn't available until after 3 p.m. That was disappointing since I had already planned my meal. We started with the biscuits. They had a strong smoky flavor that honestly made me think they were baked with pork fat or in an oven used for barbecue. Lindsey assured me they weren't made with any meat fats, but the smoky flavor was definitely noticeable. I ordered the salmon with microgreens and a side of mac and cheese. My partner ordered the steak and eggs with hash browns, and we both enjoyed the mint mocktails--they were refreshing and one of the highlights of the meal. The salmon was cooked well and I enjoyed it. The mac and cheese, however, was a huge letdown. It arrived in a cute little cast-iron skillet on a butcher block, so the presentation was great, but the taste didn't match the appearance. It reminded me of boxed mac and cheese made with powdered cheese, topped with Parmesan just to create a crust. It was runny, lacked richness, and there wasn't even a hint of that satisfying cheese pull. Unfortunately, there were service issues as well. My partner specifically ordered his eggs over hard, but they weren't prepared that way. His hash browns never arrived at the table, and on the drive home he realized we had been charged for them. He intended to mention it before leaving but simply forgot. The biggest positive is the restaurant itself. It's beautiful, stylish, and has a great ambiance. Beyond that, though, I found the food to be average for the price. Even by Los Angeles standards, $42 for chicken and waffles feels excessive. Overall, Yardbird looks better than it tastes. While there were a few bright spots, the inconsistent service, menu confusion, and underwhelming food don't justify the price. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning.

The bowls were a good size and came with plenty of food. The combination of the spicy chicken, sweet yams, and charred broccoli worked really well together and made for a satisfying lunch. It was one of those meals that managed to be both healthy and tasty, which is harder to find than it should be. If you're dining in, you can also ask them to substitute the rice, making it an even better option for those looking for a lower-carb, high-protein meal. The guacamole was another standout. It tasted freshly made, was well seasoned, and paired perfectly with the chips. I kept looking at the half chickens coming out of the kitchen and will probably try one next time, but the Chicken Tinga bowl was substantial enough that I didn't feel like I was missing out.
