We have attended a MT evening several times. I would like to say, this event in Dallas has been our best experience, by far. Everyone was very engaging, especially the servers. Came here for the first time in a long time. I think it's been 12 years since me and my kids been to Medieval Times. Our first time was in California. We didn't even know there was one here in Texas until we looked outside our hotel window and saw this huge castle. Anyways, the tickets is still crazy expensive especially when you're eating a half of a corn cob, half a bland potato, tomato soup, a garlic bread that you can get from the freezer aisle of HEB, half a Costco rotisserie chicken, a drink, and a piece of birthday cake and a soggy coco puff-like pastry. For 3 adult tickets for the best seats in the house, we spent approximately $360 which included dinner, a flag banner, front row seats to the arena and action, and a free photo. The food wasn't horrendous and I get that they want the whole Medieval Times feel of eating with your hands with literally no utensils, but I would've some other better choices of food for the amount of money that I spent like roast pork lol. They also have a bar area where you can buy additional drinks in collectible cups. Overall, despite the food we ate, it is definitely worth the whole entire experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The crew did an amazing job acting and putting on a show with the flying falcon, dancing horses, music, and storyline especially the jousting and melee combat part.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I truly believe it's enjoyed as an older kid to an adult. A super young toddler and/or baby might be a waste of money, but that's up to your wallet. The staff are all very friendly. The parking looked tight and small, but luckily, we stayed at a hotel literally next door so we walked for 1min. The gift shop is full of whatever you're looking for from this show, but you'll pay lol. Buying your tickets online is highly recommended so it's quicker. The line can be long, but it moves a little fast. Once you claim you tickets at the front desk, you're randomly given your knight assignment and you pick up your burger king crown and take your photos. There, you'll wait in the lobby until the show begins and they guide you to which doors to enter where staff will guide you to your colored area and table assignments. It's super fun when you're cheering for your knight to make it all the way. So far, the 2 times that I've been to Medieval Times, my knight has been killed in battle lol, I am now 0-2. read more

I haven't been here since i was a kid myself so it was cool bringing the family here. We had a great time and since we got the royalty access, oh we fancy, we got seated first which was very simple. Kids under 3 are free as a note as well but they'll sit in your lap and share food with you. The food was good portion sizes but the dessert was bite size like a snickers bar on Halloween. The show was the savior putting together a good theatrical play and giving some drama to it as well having an evil knight. So glad I finally got to experience Medieval Times! It's definitely a worthwhile event and truly fun for all ages. When you check in, you get a complimentary crown and are randomly assigned a team based color to root for (6 total teams). Seating is first come first serve so it does help to get there a bit earlier if you want to sit a bit closer, unless you pay extra for the front row seating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the competitive nature of this place and it feels like a genuine sporting event.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can order drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) before the show and choose a custom merch cup/mug with the medieval times logo to take home. Once the show / event begins, waitstaff serve the pre selected dinner courses in specific order: garlic bread and tomato soup to start, then roast chicken (bone in), herb encrusted baked potato (half of a potato) and corn on the cob. Lastly for dessert, you receive a chocolate eclair. Important to note there are no utensils provided, but you get wet wipes for cleaning your hands. Booking it online was simple. I suggest going early to see everything like the pre show, the falcon up close and personal, the horses, and staying afterwards to meet the knights. We went early not to miss anything and to take as many pictures as we can. I must say the adults were more into it then the kids. Perhaps since we went after 7pm. I must say that my family experienced some racism from one of the servers. Where he assumed our race and said something in passing to another server expecting to be out of earshot. Since you're a minority yourself shouldn't you know better? The manager was called and they assured us that he would be moved to a different area. Since we were celebrating a birthday a shoutout was given to appease our group. Slices of cake were given to us as well. Not much else was done for us. They serve this throughout the show which starts with a lot of horse tricks, then about 90 minutes in they start the competition and jousting to see which knight wins. There is an MC horse that guides you through the whole night and the kind and queen also do a lot of chatting. There is SO MUCH talking and storytelling that none of us remembered from years ago, and it wasn't about the horses or the tricks it was about the medieval story, which is ok but it was a bit much to listen too and seemed rushed at times. The service was really friendly and helpful when we needed some accommodations for the very little ones, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would bring children headphones as it can get loud, but they also have some you can borrow if needed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The VIP passes were not super worth it from our perspective, we had seats in the center of the arena and that seemed to be the most beneficial part, otherwise I don't know what it gets you. read more

Really love this experience. Me and my boyfriend went to celebrate our birthdays. I got the upgraded VIP royalty which was just priority seating. It was first come first serve and I bought a knighting ceremony for my bf. The ceremony includes meeting the king and queen, being knighted, taking pictures, they announce your title for everyone to cheer too and also announce a happy birthday to the crowd before the show starts. He loved it. You also gift a small gift for the ceremony and can upgrade the gift you want for a discounted charge. The souvenirs aren't cheap.. so if you expect to buy anything be prepared to spend money. Over all we spent about $150 on 3 items. The food - my bf got the regular dinner which was chicken a potato, corn, coffee, a soda, and a dessert. The chicken was super dried. The dessert was overly sweet and the coffee had no flavor. I got a vegan meal (which was also gluten free) - which was a 3 bean soup that also had rice, carrots and potatoes. It was really good! I also got hummus and carrots, celery. For dessert they have me an Italian ice. I also got the potato and corn and coffee. The potato was well seasoned and so was the corn. I really enjoyed my meal. The show was great which has a story line if you pay attention. It was about 2 hours long. There wasn't a wow moment for me but it was nice to experience this once. It's been 30 years since my last visit and it's a fun experience. Our party of five purchased tickets in advanced online and there were plenty of sets available for walk ups. We arrived 45 minutes early, but really did not have to because we had to wait in the lobby until the door is opened at 8 PM. When seated, the courses came out one by one. The final entrée was served at 8:40. So, know that it takes a while The entertainment is top-notch. The performers really do have to do a lot to keep the entertainment flowing smoothly. It's not perfect, but considering everything they have to work with, you have to appreciate all the effort that goes through to make an incredible show especially working with live animals. Your positive attitude and participation enhances the experience. It is true. The servers are not readily available because they are making food runs. So if you need an extra napkin or more beverage, they're not available there for you to ask because they're making food runs. That's just how the service runs. Cocktails orders are taken twice during the show. Beer and wine are decent price. Free parking. Police officers are on site. Lots of souvenir and picture options. Seats are given first come first serve, unless you buy the expensive option of ticket, but we were seated in a fairly good section. Despite the fact that my last visit was nearly 15 years ago, I only noticed a couple of changes. The first one being the absence of the torture museum, which is unfortunate because it was interesting and helped to pass the time before the dinner and show started. Now, there are just gift shops and/or bars to occupy your time as well as a viewing area to get a behind the scenes glimpse of the horses. Also, they weren't taking souvenir photos, but that was most likely due to us being there on a day designated for school field trips. Understandably, people have this assumption that the food will be substandard at a gimmicky/touristy place such as this. However, it's actually decent quality and quite tasty. Our meal consisted of roasted chicken, half of a roasted potato, corn on the cob, garlic bread and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Bottled water was also provided to wash it all down. Again, we were there for a school field trip at lunch time, so I'm sure it was slightly different than the regular dinner menu. As other Yelpers have suggested, I brought plastic utensils, just in case, but they weren't really needed. My package of wet wipes, however, did come in handy. The jousting, sword fighting and falcon performance were entertaining and engaging for all ages. The kids especially got into cheering for their knights. There was even some audience participation involving the knights riding around looking for swooning fans to bestow their flowers and scarves upon. Although there are online coupons and group discounts available, a trip here will still set you back quite a bit after all is said and done. A friend was in town and wanted to hangout and has never been here so wanted to go. Keep in mind I have gone to the location in California and Arizona and thoroughly enjoyed both!! We got reservations and the prices are CRAZY!!!! For 3 people it was $300 (and we did not have any special add-ons). We get their early as they requested you get there 1 hour before the show. We decided to partake in an adult beverage and paid $112 for three drinks. I ordered their rum and coke which was Bacardi, Morgan's, and Coke. The Coke was flat as heck and you really did not taste the alcohol at all. It tasted like a watered down mess. But, if you think that is crazy wait until later.... The acting was horrible and you could tell they were acting (and not good at it). We started with tomato bisque and all I could think about was having a grilled cheese sandwich to go with it. We got bread which was good but just the Texas toast you can buy in the freezer aisle. Later we got 1/2 a chicken, a piece of corn, and 1/2 a potato. Later in the show we got a piece of white cake and a small eclair. Nothing to write home about... for basically $100 a person I expected more from either the show or the food. The service ended up getting worse as my husband and our friend wanted another drink. They asked our waiter 3 times for that waitress to come over. After yet another ask she FINALLY got there. I told her they wanted the first drink on the menu but with NO additives. They really did not want all the sugar again. She did not know if she could do that and went to ask her manager. Came back and said it only had sparkling water in it. I again said...no they only want the alcohol NO additives. She left again and finally returned with two glasses and which looked like maybe 2 shots at best.... AND IT COST $68. This is a great one-time experience for the family. I don't think you would get as much joy if you came more than every two years but it's definitely a fun dinner and show experience. The coolest parts are the live horses and the fact that every seat is a good seat. The dinner portion is decent food - nothing extravagant. The most interesting part is there are no utensils. You drink the soup from the bowl with your hands. You eat the chicken on the bone with your hands. Make sure you wash your hands before sitting down! The show was fun. The sound quality could have been a bit better as there are a lot of speeches and talking and it starts to run together sound wise but you don't really need to listen to the actors at all to have a good time because there is constantly something going on in the arena. Desert was a finger eclair and a small piece of cake. That's was fine. We noticed some people got sporks we did not, and ate with our fingers. Fine. The Pepsi was flat and not cold. Overall had a good experience and will come again now that we know where NOT to sit. Also why is everything there made in china? This is Texas you could have excellent items hand made in Texas! Plates you eat on from china, all the toys from china! Even the beautiful knives and swords were made in china. The handles made of plastic fake wood instead of a carved handle from an antler or piece of wood. $. 35 dollars for a plastic kids sword is a bit much. Kids things were very over priced since it's ALL made in china you know it's about $5 for the plastic swords maybe 20$ for a crown or tiara but they were asking $60 for a fake metal, fake gem crown tiara. The show was great. The food was good. We had fun. The only reason I have it three stars was about the horses. They were using bits on the horses and they were drooling and were noticeably uncomfortable. This somewhat ruined the show for us. I am not a PETA guy by any means. I am a MAGA guy but to me this was really sad to see the horses uncomfortable. They looked miserable. read more

My friend invited me to Medieval Times and I said yes without looking this up. Pleasantly surprised, but I really had no idea what to expect! When you first arrive, you will have the opportunity to buy add ons, take pictures, and visit the gift shop or bar. You are let into the arena and sorted into teams to cheer for. With live animals in the show, I was happy to find that the arena didn't smell bad at all. The first half of the program was really just a warm up; I couldn't always understand what was being said or who was "winning". This is dinner and a show, so the meal is served while you are watching the program. As others have mentioned, there are no utensils, so if this gives you pause bring plastic or wet wipes. Some napkins and wipes are provided. Our waitress Avery did a great job of getting everything out! The second half is where things start heating up, so you'll have to see it yourself to know what happens! read more

I've been to the Medieval Times in Buena Park, California before in 2019 so I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. My experience here in Texas was basically identical with the one I experienced before in California. Line was already pretty long ~1 hour before the show. After you check in, they assign you your team by crown color and you sit at your assigned spot with your team. Throughout the show, they bring drinks and a full-course meal. My expectations were pretty low for the food, but it ended up being better than I remember! I was worried that the food would be cold with them serving one-by-one but most of it came pretty hot! Overall it's a pretty cool one-time experience for those who have never been. FYI they don't provide utensils and you eat with your hands. They provide moist towelettes to wipe hands. read more

Went on Valentine's Day eve and surprised my boyfriend with this experience. My knight won!! The performance was spectacular because of this and I do think i would've found it lacking if my knight wasn't the one to win, so I'm glad he did. Besides that, the food was alright. Everything dragon themed. I didn't know so many dragon food ideas could be thought of. The chicken was the best food item but did have to eat medieval style with my fingers. Very timeline accurate. If you go in expecting culinary amazement or a Cirque du Soleil/Broadway level show experience, it's time to check your expectations. This place is in business because it does one show model (the subpar medieval knights tournament) with one basic meal. And it does it WELL with reliable customer service and intense nostalgia that you can share with your friends, significant other, or experience with your kids. Will you get a mouth full of dust with your drinkable tomato soup? It's possible. But it's part of the ambiance! But you'll smile and laugh hard and love cheering for your knight and have so much fun that you really won't care much about the fact that you can repeat the basic meal with a Costco chicken and some other basic sides. Because what you can't repeat is the feeling you get from the excitement, especially when you wear or waive one of those light up toys with pride! Don't forget a souvenir! We decided at the last minute to go so we arrived about 40 minutes before start time. There was already a line but it moved relatively fast. Once in we had to wait until it was time to actually enter the "arena", but it wasn't a long wait. Once in and seated our server came up to our table, introduced himself and told us what to expect. He then came around with pitchers of drinks. I believe it was water, lemonade, tea and soda. But no diet soda. Who doesn't have diet soda? He did say someone from the bar would come by if we wanted an alcoholic drink. I planned to order a glass of wine but the bartender didn't come by until after we had been seated about 40 minutes Because the server had already brought out tomato bisque and garlic bread I decided to just save money and drink water. Maybe they save money not offering diet soda? Dinner consisted of half a grilled chicken, potato and a small ear of corn. Since it's medieval times no utensils are provided. I get it, but how messy to eat a greasy chicken with your fingers. And you're given one napkin and a wet wipe. The chicken was good. I really liked the potato. The corn was alright. The biggest disappoint was dessert. It was a tiny chocolate eclair. The kind that you buy from the grocery store in the frozen section. It wasn't good. A bit on the soggy side.
