    Spicy chicken veggie pizza
    Ziad A.

Medina kabob market on bellomy st, is our go to place for halal pizza. Their pricing and sizing is unbelievable and such a great deal. We always get pizza from here without thinking twice. We used to get their veggie pizza Untill they came out with their spicy chicken veggie pizza and upgraded to that flavor. Their wings are great too to go along with pizza as well. We got our start on cooking homemade pizza from this place since it was so good and when we dont feel like making pizza at home we would get pizza from here (except on tuesdays when they r closed). I have had their buffet once too in the day a long time ago and have no complains. For other side items , their burgers are not that good though, i would not recommend burgers from here. Their bolani is good as well which is good, but we do not get as often since we get their pizza and wings more often Regardless, pizza id recommend medina kabob market over via mia any day.

    Hot Water for tea, COLD!!!

Food: 3.5 stars [4 starts for the dry kebabs] Overall Service: 2.5 stars I have visited this eatery twice, and was impressed with the quality of their food (AYCE buffet, to be precise) I loved the dry-kebabs at first bite, and went back for more at least 3-4 times. They're so good! For reals! PROS: 1) Dry kebabs and stuffed bread taste very good. (The complimentary green chili and yogurt sauce go very well with these items) 2) Kitchen next to eating area. You can see food being made fresh. 3) Parking lot next to eatery. Very convenient. 4) The quality and variety of food for the lunch AYCE menu is worth the $9.99 price. Dry and curried meats, salad, boiled rice and biryani, fish kebabs, stuffed bread, noodles etc. CONS: 1) They say they open at 11:00am, but even thought we arrived around 11:30am both times, half of the trays were empty. No rice, no dry kebabs, no salad. Even the hot water thermos for tea was dispensing cold water! So yeah, if your lunch break ends before noon, this place in not for you. 2) They take forever to refill the trays; like forever! 3) Did not see around 15 dishes as promised on the menu; only 10-11 dishes, including rice. Would i visit again? Maybe; but just because the dry kebabs are YUMMY!

I was skeptical about this place at first, but I heard from friends this place was under new management and that it was significantly better now, and they were right! First off, the place is definitely a hole in the wall in the South Bay, but surprisingly, the exterior of the place is very peaceful and aesthetic, with rose flowers surrounding the entrance, and plenty of sunlight if you decide to dine outdoors on a sunny day. The staff was very friendly and the price was fair for what you get! I tried the chapli kababs and the rice and I loved it. The kababs are always freshly made, juicy, and flavorful. I was thoroughly impressed by how good it was, and would definitely come back and try their other items on the menu. I've also tried the pizzas from this place and they're also very good -- freshly made with generous toppings. I'd highly recommend if you're in the area!

    Combo plate

Ordered the combo plate. The rice was very dry and so was the beef kabob. It definitely lacked flavor and tenderness. The chicken was also quite chewy. Sorry not coming back here again. $14.99 was a waste. Instead I could have gone elsewhere

    Chicken shawarma

Fantastic, authentic food made by the nicest people you'll ever meet. We've gone back many times for shawarma, stew, kebabs, and more. The owner of the store worked with US troops in his homeland of Afghanistan, then came here a few years ago. So happy to support him, especially with such a yummy food!

Not a sanitary restaurant! Saw a lady changing a baby's diaper in the kitchen and then went to work in the kitchen (awhile back.)

Indeed it was one of the best Middle Eastern food I've had in the bay area. Whoever's in the kitchen knows how to make kebab right. Kudos to them! My salmon kebab was scrumptious. The charcoal-grilled exterior and moist interior proved it was done right. The only complaint was plate didn't come with salad. Service however was problematic. They never checked on us. It was not respectful enough to women which reflected their gender-inequality $@#tty culture. The male staff served water to me the last while my son and I were sitting next to each other waiting for our guests. This staff served water to him first, then poured to the rest of the empty glasses in counter-clockwise until he got to me. You always serve ladies first. I unusually didn't say "thank you." for him to catch my displeasure and couldn't help have "misogynist-jack@#$" loom over my head. He probably sensed my irritating vibe, so in the next round of encounter, he had me order the food first, intentionally. Remember my boy, be a real man, chivalry is not dead, ladies first. I value my worth more than your food. Won't return.

Every dish is seasoned perfectly and not overly salted. I've tried just about everything on the menu and the meat is always tender. Vegetables here are top quality as well, which compliments the dishes nicely. And the green yogurt sauce is spicy! In a good way. I usually order an extra with the biryani plates, because *some* is just never enough. Their mango lassi is super mango-ey. I don't know what kind of mangoes go into this drink, but it has the most sweet, tart, and ripe fruitiness (emphasis on fruitiness), and the yogurt in it adds good balance. Perfect drink. There is a good variety of items to choose from, so I don't get bored eating here. You can tell everything is cooked fresh on a daily basis as well. Don't sleep on the desserts either. After trying baklava at many restaurants around San Jose, I regard Gulzaar Halaal's as my personal favorite. Crispy layers, firm yet chewy bottom, and never stale. Perfect balance of sweet, nutty and spiced. My favorite dessert though has to be Kanafeh. Soft-ish, melty sweet cheese (with rose water, I think?). Ask for it warmed. I've always felt relaxed when eating in the restaurant. Tables are frequently cleaned. The owner is very attentive, making sure customers are happy with everything. Their interactions with people are always very respectful and kind. Last but not least, the bathroom is clean, neat and tidy.

I came into the restaurant asking how long my order would take, she said 10 minutes. Although there were chairs and tables under an eave, I chose to go to the car. Faviola brought the food to me and it was sprinkling outside! She even came back and gave us extra utensils when she realized there were two of us. All the while smiling:) I ordered via yelp because we were starving and easily this restaurant has their menu in organized and visually appealing. Their descriptions and the variety of selections and customizations on point. My husband said he wasn't hungry but then saw the food and we scarfed it all down. He gave it 8.5 and said would come back. I ordered pickled vegetables which I thought was going to be onions but I think it's actually cabbage. Not my preference so I will take that home to the parents. Did order yogurt dip- husband was a fan. The chicken thigh and filet were so tender. I had put a note on the order for medium rare. I wouldn't call that medium rare but it was tender nonetheless. I'm sad I had to pay extra for a half of a Roma tomato, salad and lavash- the lavash I saw it in the add-ons menu so I assumed it wasn't in there. Ended up with so much lavash. No need to buy extra. The entire thing came up to $63-ish. The food was 4/5 but service was 5/5! I know this economy has everyone struggling. This was probably the most I have spent on Mediterranean food. I would have expected $45-$50. We just came back from Turkey so this would have costed us $15-$20 USD. Portions for rice and meat were good though! All in all- would come back!
