Suggestions from a frequent visitor who thinks your food is amazing but a few things are really frustrating: It really stinks that you cancelled your morning bakery hours with coffee, it was a wonderful way to build restaurant community with the neighborhood and for gluten free folks, it was a really great breakfast. Some of your servers are... grumpy... really makes a difference when people are at least in a good mood:) my family has come a few times (no little kids) and we feel rushed at the end of the night as if everyone wants to pack up at 9pm... and there is rarely a smile... The lighting is too bright to create a big-city-evening-out sort of feeling... it ends up feeling a bit like a cafeteria... You are ahead of the curve with this idea and your food (baked goods especially) are amazing! Stay the course! read more

Just enjoyed an amazing dinner and friendly service at my newest neighborhood restaurant, Mediterranea! I loved the corn bread croutons on the kale Caesar salad and the crispy, herbed skin on the chicken entree. The shrimp and polenta dish was seasoned perfectly and our citrusy dessert was light and flavorful, the perfect end to our meal. I can't wait to visit again for brunch. Happy to contribute another positive review for this lovely neighborhood spot. Hubby and I finally had a chance to come for brunch, and the food was inventive, tasty, fresh, and healthy! The buckwheat crepes with smoked trout were a winner, I will come back for those alone. Hubby had the green shakshuka which was good but a little one note - maybe it needed some feta, or olives, or just one other pop of flavor. I'm eager to come back and try the peach mascarpone french toast, and dinner too - the pictures I've seen make me salivate. But back to brunch: the coffee was really good, which is an oft overlooked but key part of the brunch experience. There's a variety of brunch cocktails - the tomatillo bloody mary with vodka & mezcal and campari mimosa both caught my eye. Mediterranea offers a great atmosphere. The color scheme--yellow walls, red pillars, exposed concrete, gray booths--works really well. My husband and I have enjoyed dinner here and I've also had pastries. It's a great little addition to Grant Park and so happy they are here! Everything that we have tried has been very delicious. This was our first time at Mediterranea, and everything was delicious. Our level of service was also top notch. Our server, Andrew, took great care of us while also tending to a very large party. He was on point- our order was taken right away and food and drinks came quickly. His timing was perfect and we never wanted for a thing. I'd recommend the steak frites, and my husband gave a "would order again" to the squash risotto. The steak was cooked perfectly and the chimichurri sauce took it to the next level of flavor. This is my new favorite restaurant in Atlanta especially for brunch. When the owners say that it is gluten free it truly is. The service is impeccable and the food is even better. I came here yesterday with my daughter for brunch. I had made a reservation and we were on time. We were seated at a small table next to the kitchen and very close to another couple. The restaurant is lovely and it was a shame to be stuck at the worst table The waitress took a long time to take our order, and was not the friendliest, but the food came out quickly. Everything was fresh, and well prepared. We had the eggs, biscuit and gravy and an order of the french toast. It was good although I did not care for the biscuit. I would give this another chance during the week, when the full menu is available, and be more specific in my reservation seating request! read more

Very cool place close to grant park! Excited that we have a a gluten free option and the food is just delicious. We came for brunch and my favorite was the root vegetable hash with eggs over easy. Thought I would stop in to get brunch... I arrived just at opening... The service was very prompt... I ordered an orange juice as well as the French toast... On a suggestion from the server i ordered a side order of eggs as well as hash potatoes and I'm so glad I listened... The presentation was just like you would see in a magazine so much so that I was inspired to take a picture of it. The French toast was perfectly cooked, had a crisp edge on the outside just the way I like it it was topped with walnuts served with syrup and dusted with some powdered sugar.. on the side where a few blackberries and raspberries which presented a nice touch... The hash brown potatoes where arguably the best I've ever had.. Cut in small cubes they had a medley of carrots as well as some other vegetables that perfectly balanced the flavor... I was offered a latte... normally I don't drink lattes but this one was delicious... The experience was so wonderful I would recommend this place to my friends over and over again... A+++ read more

Combines wonderfully flavorful healthy food with a great neighborhood ambience. They accommodate diverse dietary preferences. Mine called low-FODMAP is more restrictive extension of gluten-free. Went here for the first time on Sunday for brunch. My fiancé and I went here for something healthy and of course ended up getting the least healthy thing on the menu. This is a nice neighborhood restaurant near Grant Park and Zoo Atlanta. Six of us went for brunch on a Saturday morning. The management was very easy to work with for a reservation and the rest of the staff made us feel right at home. I ordered the fennel and grapefruit salad followed by the gluten free biscuit with gravy and two eggs. I would absolutely order both dishes again. Each has that 'wow' factor that I look for on first taste. They have a full bar and a list of speciality drinks for brunch. There was plenty of nearby street parking. We will wait until the weather is cooler and return to try out the roof patio. read more

I, too, would like to cast my vote in support of Mediterranea. Almost every person dining had a child under 6 in tow. The restaurant is $$ & most choices favor a vegetarian diet (of course). The menu offers small plates for sharing, appetizers & entrees. They serve wine as well as have a bar. Beautiful decor, great concept and addition to the GP neighborhood. I am highly anticipating sitting on the rooftop when it opens, tentatively by mid-March 2017. One of the owners, Jarrard, is very personable and eager to hear any feedback. We ate lunch here today with a Large crowd of mixed ages. The food was delicious, they were welcoming of my children and offered kids meals that were delicious and nutritious. I had the HLT and was very pleased and the rest of our party was fully satisfied with their meals as well. Wow, finally a gluten free restaurant with interesting and tasty veggie options too. I loved this place. The portions were perfect, the food was very good and the atmosphere was inviting. I started with the quartet spread and all 4 spreads were amazing. The house made gf bread was really good too. I had the Involtini as my entree and it tasted so good. I had the vegan chocolate cake and gelato for dessert and it was heavenly. Being a vegetarian most of my adult life, I am so tired of the same old boring veggie options at most restaurants. This place has really taken the time to come up with culinary delights for me and my gluten free man. We will definitely be back! Take advantage of the reservations option on yelp. My boyfriend had the white bean salad, which was awesome and the turkey meatballs. He loved being able to eat bread and meatballs without worry, which is rare for him. Just came here for lunch today. I had the bocadillo sandwich, and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since. Surprisingly simple but darn tasty. The staff were great, and the menu is just big enough to be exciting, but small enough to not keep you sitting there for days thinking you made the wrong decision. We ate dinner at Mediterranea last night and it was delicious! It's a newly opened restaurant in south grant park. The menu was interestingly varied but has an emphasis on Mediterranean vegetarian and vegan friendly options. We started with the veggie starter, had salads, entrees (involtini and branzino) and a delicious blackberry Carmel bread pudding to finish. The interior is warm and comforting, with some tables on a nifty rooftop desk (can't wait for it to get warmer). For this side of town, this kind of nice but not fancy restaurant is very welcomed - most everything else is super casual. Can't wait to go back to our new neighborhood dinner out! read more

The food was fantastic but the service was extremely bad. We were at the table for over 15 minutes before our server even came over. We were on the roof and there were only 4 other parties up there, so there was no reason for this at all. The menu said ask your server what the old fashioned of the day was, and she could not tell me. After we ordered she never once came back to check on us until she asked if we wanted desert or a check. We love the food and the ambience, and will still go back, but they are now 0/2 on the service aspect of it. So disappointing...... read more

What a little gem this gluten free eatery is! Although I have only enjoyed dinner here a few times, my intent is to try brunch and lunch and clearly the rooftop when weather permits. The hum of fellow diners creates a convivial atmosphere yet does not retard hearable conversation at your own table. The food is excellent, a limited yet creative menu with several vegetarian offerings as well as fish, meat, and chicken. The shrimp orzo dish was original and excellent, with a hint of heat and the surprise raisin and pine nut taste. Although a trafficky drive from Decatur, it is worth the trip. read more

I dined here for brunch with some friends on a recommendation Sunday and it was wonderful! I love the neighborhood feel- warm and friendly service and easy street parking. I had the green shakshuka which was one of the most unique and interesting brunch items I've ever had. It was a good size- filling and satisfying without leaving me stuffed. The flavors were just wonderful- I truly loved this dish! A side of Spotted Trotter chicken sausage was the perfect accompaniment. They knew we were celebrating birthdays so they sent us out a delicious lemon pastry on the house for dessert- and then upon learning one of the bday girls was vegan they sent out some amazingly moist vegan oatmeal raisin cookies. That was a really nice touch! I can't wait to go back again and try the salad with white bean croquettes (which they were unfortunately out of) because I think it sounds amazing. Updated review: Had a nice lunch on the roof patio. The grain bowl and turkey souvlaki sandwich were both very good! Service was lovely as well. Initial review: We are excited to have a coffee shop and restaurant within close walking distance of our new home. The food in the restaurant is good and healthy (although the brunch portions were a bit small) and people with all different tastes will be able to find something they can enjoy. The service has been nice each time we have visited. The coffee shop portion of the restaurant is great - they serve good coffee and nice pastry treats. You can not really even tell they are gluten free, but maybe that's all the butter in there :) The staff is friendly and happy to accommodate groups with children even in a more upscale environment. I have not yet had the opportunity to try the rooftop, but look forward to it. I only have one bone to pick with the restaurant and it is the atmosphere. The music and general vibe of the restaurant is lacking. It seems it is meant to be a neighborhood restaurant, but it feels more like the lobby of a chain hotel or an airport restaurant. It has potential to be a great place to grab a glass of wine and a bite with a friend, sit at the bar... etc. In my opinion, the atmosphere is missing the quirk and originality that makes Grant Park such a special neighborhood. This restaurant/coffee shop is a much needed addition in this part of the neighborhood. Hopefully over time the atmosphere will improve to match the solid food and service. read more

We had a wonderful time at this all gluten-free restaurant with Mediterranean fare. Everything is homemade including the focaccia and selection of dips. The braised chicken with root vegetable puree and au jus was a bowl of delicious comfort food. Save room for the flourless chocolate cake (real fluffy cake) filled with cashew cream and covered in a layer of chocolate. Next time we are coming for brunch!!
