Great Greek fries. Crispy fries to hold the creamy, plentiful, tangy, umami, rich sauce. Perfectly seasoned. Fair pricing. Chicken gyro lacked salt and seasoning on the actual chicken. Good food prepared well. But,the portions are smaller than I expected for $12. Ordered the chicken shewarma. Was more dry than one expects. And the salad was compromised of some lettuce bits and a few diced tomatoes. Pretty weak. The Oasis veggie plate is better. Also, this place looks like it's having an identity crisis. Is it a bakery, a deli, a restaurant? Lots of empty shelves and a back deli area it is frequently closed or not in operation. Not really sure how they pay the rent on this store on such low inventory and a confused business model. I hope they get it together. This mini review is long overdue. First things first, the service is great. Everybody is friendly and they really make sure you're taken care of. The food is great, but it's the friendliness that keeps us coming back. The food, I can't say enough. I've been to a few Mediterranean places where the meat is either too salty, too dry, or both. Not here. Everything on the menu is great and the hummus is very addicting. The other great thing about this place is shopping for sweets and other interesting items. The candies and candied fruits are great, we always buy a handful to take home after eating here. When you are done, they are always appreciative that you've come in. I gave Mediterranean Oasis 5 stars because the falafels I had plus the baba ganoush (sp) and the humus were absolutely delicious. Actually I would rather have given them 41/2 stars which I will explain later. The falafel was prepared perfectly. The salad didn't meet my standards for tomato cucumber salad but it was okay. As I say, my highest rating is that I plan on returning. I definitely would like to try their lamb and chicken plates next. You really feel like you are getting an authentic Middle East meal. The people behind the counter are both friendly and business like. The restaurant is an adjunct to a middle eastern food market. 10 tables next to aisles of goods. Unfortunately prices were quite expensive and I didn't see anyone actually shopping there. At noon most of the clientele were individuals on their lunch break. The market is a kind of curiosity and something to check out while waiting but it does detract from the ambiance of the place. I'd like to see them focus more on the restaurant side of the business. We placed a catering order a few weeks ago - unfortunately did not try the food before placing the order. Trusted my yelpers. Placed the order in person a week before and when my hubby went to pick it up - they'd forgotten. He waited for the food whilst me and my guests waited for him to return. The quantity was great for the to go tray of hummus and baba ghanouj - I'm a huge fan of baba ghanouj and I judge a Mediterranean place on their baba ghanouj - it's a simple dish and this was plain awful, lumps of tahini and chalky. I wished I had just gotten tubs from Trader Joe's instead. The meat - skewers of lamb were overdone but chicken was good. A little more than embarrassing especially since I really enjoy entertaining. Love this place!!! Very authentic dishes. The falafel is to die for as is the hummus. You must meander the grocery area as well. Never leave without buying the homemade pita, hummus and baba ghanouj. The olives, grape leaves, cheeses and meat are great too! The Greek fries are indulgent. The organic beef shawarma is great and the lamb kabob platter. Their rice is amazing. Hands down the most authentic Mediterranean food you'll find in Seattle. Great variety on their menu and really solid prices! Try everything - you won't regret it. And while you wait for your food, get your shopping done. I have shopped at every Mediterranean market (or international market that carries Mediterranean items) in Seattle - the quality of the products here are unmatched and they carry just about everything you can thing of. The bread is divine and the stuffed eggplants are very, very delicious. This was my first time there, I had read good things about it and my hubby was craving gyros. The owner was so sweet and took my order, paying special attention to my "no vegetables" on my granddaughters gyros. They had a great deal of any sandwich, home cut fries and a can of soda for $9.99! I think we may have confused the man preparing our sandwiches because they had "no salad" on them either lol, but the delicious taste of the meat, sauce and feta was wonderful!! The owner and I chatted and she gave me a "black seed" natural energy drink to try while I waited...the food was just as we had hoped, and she has definitely got return customers in us...and my granddaughter Taesha told her Papa as she greedily ate her special gyros "Papa, I think we found our new place to eat!" Thought they may be legit because of the real shawarma spit and market of imported Mid East products, but the chicken shawarma wound up being a weird packed in shredded chicken that more resembled chicken salad than shawarma. The sauce on top was bland - not quite a tahini, no hummus - and the toppings were minimal and not well mixed in, just globbed on a top. The Greek fries were soggy and covered in a mayo of some kind, not fresh feta like other places do. The prices were reasonable but none of the food was flavorful. Totally loved the hummus. It's not the gritty over-garliced stuff you'll get in a local hipster gastropub. It's smooth with a great tahini flavor. We also got a chicken shawarma sandwich. Im writing this review for the owners, not to harm the business but to help them to be successful since they just opened few months ago, and mistakes are expected when you are new. Positive things: 1. People there are nice, and it looks like they do care about customer satisfaction. 2. Hummus is really good. 3. Portions are decent Negative things: 1. The place is a bit cold, needs to be heated more. 2. The way to the restroom can't be that messy, it feels like you are going on an abandoned store on your way to the restroom, where so many boxes and stuff on the ground. 3. Lots of mistakes in taking the order. 4.Rice is not tasty and super cold 5. All the grilled meat is burnt. 6. The bread they sell is a bit expensive. 7. You feel lots of grocery items are missing. Seeing all of the good reviews makes me wonder if I visited on a bad day for them while they are better usually. Anyway I wish they take this review seriously and in a positive way and try to do better. Looking forward to give it another try in few months to see if things improved. read more

Food is very disappointing and the worker was very cold and unfriendly. I ordered the veggie plate and some things were good (falafel) while the baba ganoush and hummus were mediocre and flavorless. The stuffed grape leaves tasted like they were from a can, pretty bad. I love Mediterranean salads but this had no flavor at all. Found this place when we came out of Sherwin Williams store next door. The place looks new, we went through the grocery aisles and ordered a few things at the cafe. We really want to like this place, but after trying the food, we didn't care much for it. Here are the reasons why: 1) They didn't get the French fries going before they are making the sandwiches, so they will be done on time. Instead, they did it after, so it was a "fine dining" wait. 2) They messed up our order. I ordered the Chicken Gyro. but what I actually I got was Lamb & Beef Gyro I didn't find that out until when I got home. 3) Lack of sauce and no sauce. Even though the Gyro I ordered on top was filled with tzatziki sauce, there was no sauce when I halfway through the sandwich. It was just pure dry meat. The the other order Shawarma we ordered was even worse, has no sauce on it all. We know this is a new business, they are still learning how to run everything smoothly. We really want to like this place because it's close to where are we live. However, this is definitely an unpleasant experience. It will be quite some time before we think about going back. read more

This little gem is definitely worth the stop! Their grocery section has some of the softest, best pita in the Seattle area as well as good prices on staples like roasted seeds and lebneh. The food counter is just as great! Their shawarma meat is flavorful and tender, their hummus is the best I've had other than homemade, and the platter is a great deal! The shawarma platter comes with: meat, rice, salad, hummus and pita. More than enough for one person!
