Leaving a 2 star mainly because i paid $1,018.92 for my dog to seek help for a fractured elbow and they didn't even bother putting a bandage, splinter, etc. Gave me back my dog the way i brought him in just with 2 medications. Be Very Wary! Brought our older dog in to the Vet Hospital who was having visibly breathing problems based on our regular vets recommendation. Staff and vet were friendly (thus the one star) and diagnosed our dog with pneumonia and recommended a two-day hospital stay for oxygen therapy and IV antibiotics. As others have noted the charges for services are outrageously high and we had to charge them on our credit card (and have nevre received an itemized statement). When we went to pick her up her vet said all went pretty well and prescribed meds to give our dog at home for two+ weeks. Upon arrival to pick our dog up it was obvious to us that her breathing issues were still as bad as when we brought her there and didn't really see any obvious improvement but took the vets word that it will improve. No discussion about potential complications or any other concerns. Took our dog home, she showed no interest in eating anything, taking any meds,would not take a walk,anything. Less than 24 hours of picking her up from this hospital she collapsed on our bed and took her final breath. Called to leave this message for her vet as well as wrote a fairly terse comment on their website. Medical DIrector was the only person to contact us (guess she is the one to block and tackle public problems) and asked for 5 days (not sure why so long) to review our case. She called with only a "sorry for your loss" response, no real explanation as to why this big disconnect between primary care vets assessment vs reality and no interest in providing any discount on our charges (even on the meds which our dog obviously never got to take). As others have noted, pet hospitals will pray upon your guilt of potentially losing your pet and happily perform services behind closed doors that may or may not do your pet any good but you can be sure you will be out of a lot of money in the end! read more

I have been a frequent flyer over the years and all of my dogs have received the same love, attention, and care at both the Campbell and Mountain View locations. Most recently, my sweet Luna dog, who suffers from a rare congenital heart condition (tetralogy of fallot) had an episode which meant 3 trips to the emergency. Each trip we walked in wondering if it was our last but each time Dr. Clare and the AMAZING vet techs gave us hope. We know our girl's time with us is short but she's a fighter and when you need someone to fight with you through the hard times, go to MedVet. Their compassion and care is unparalleled. Had to take my 7 month old pup to MedVet today because my regular vet couldn't see him but said he needed to be seen. Every single person I spoke with was awesome, from the receptionist to the vet, Dr Lundhild. Dr Lundhild called me 3 times during the visit to update me (usually the tech does it at my regular vet). I feel my pup got excellent care here at a reasonable price for it being an emergency visit. Was super surprised to learn that they will examine your pet at no charge if your pet isn't getting better within 48 hours! And they provide an excellent discharge summary noting what was done and detailed care instructions. I wish they took non-emergency visits as well. I had seen several positive reviews here on ND about MedVet Mountain View, and very glad I chose to come here vs going to Sage. Will definitely come here again for emergency vet services. read more

The MedVet staff and doctors are phenomenal. The staff was extremely welcoming, warm, kind, and gentle with my sick dog. From the nurse that met us in the parking lot who gently carried my dog inside the building to Monica at the front desk who kept me completely informed. Dr. Sarah Thompson demonstrated great care, compassion, concern, and professionalism when diagnosing my dog with Pyometra. She recommended emergency surgery and focused on keeping my dog comfortable and the importance of post op care. MedVet provides exceptional care and concern for their patients. While no one looks forward to pet emergencies, I couldn't recommend a better after hours emergency clinic than MedVet. read more

MedVet mtv really did a great job taking care of my young cat Baobao. I wish I could rate their service as 10 stars. He was in a fever and vomited on Apr 05. After the initial treatment, he recovered quickly but after 1 day his symptoms came over again. During this time, Dr Monica and Dr Claire kept me updated about all test results and gave me a lot of instructions about how to take care of Baobao. * Quick Response: I brought Baobao for re-check and no wait time as the previous visit. Dr. Claire took several tests on Baobao and gave some immediate treatment in 1 hr. * Communication: Dr. Monica and Dr. Claire would always give me some phone callls about what happened, what is the treatment, what are the tests, and what to observe in the future. *** Extra Care for my another cat ***: I have an adult cat Pumpkin in my home. I also talked about his health condition as he seems like not interested in food when Baobao is sick. Dr. Claire analyzed the his behavior and gave me some suggestions. Even if I didn't bring Pumpkin to ER, MedVet gave me instructions about how to take care of multiple cats. read more

The staff at MedVet was great! It was a Friday night, I called to see how busy they were and of course there was a wait because it's an emergency vet - that's expected. I spoke with Megan at the front desk who got us checked in over the phone and my puppy was able to wait with me in the car until the vet was able to see him which I thought was very nice so he wasn't waiting inside alone & scared. My puppy saw Dr. Sasha Hazelton who was so amazing - she has a very calm demeanor and put me at ease. She answered all of my questions & gave me different options we could do for my puppy. She wasn't pushy for me to do certain treatment options & told me if she thought certain options weren't completely necessary (although I went ahead with them more so as a peace of mind.) I highly recommend MedVet for any pet emergencies. Both Megan & Dr. Sasha Hazelton were amazing. read more

The doctors and staff are very caring. Unfortunately when I brought my dog there she was very sick and we ended up putting her down. It broke my heart but instead of giving me hope that she would be fine they were honest with me that she was suffering and the best thing for her was to let her go. Had an amazing experience here at Medvet MV, we were so scared because our dog Pi ate an entire tray of BBQ chicken and the plastic wrap that covered it. We rushed him over as soon as we could and were greeted by Megan, a tech who immediately took Pi into the hospital. Pi is normally very scared at the vet and he didn't want to go in but Megan was very patient and loving with him, and got him to go inside. Dr Bueser immediately induced vomiting and Pi puked up skewer pieces, plastic wrap, chicken-the whole 9 yards. Dr Bueser is an incredible doctor, he was really kind and empathetic, he did a great job handling the case. I know COVID has been really hard on all vet staff, things are incredibly busy all the time but despite all that stress, the MedVet MV staff still did a phenomenal job. So to anyone who is going to the ER now please be patient, the pandemic may make for a bit longer of a wait but know this is an incredible team, they will take excellent care of your animals, so be kind to them. read more

We took our fur baby in with pneumonia. Everyone there was very compasionate. He was there for 2 days and they regularly called to update us of his condition. We were encouraged to visist and never hurried when we were there. They also told us we could call at any time of the day or night if we wanted to check on him and someone always answered our questions. We said good bye to our boy today and we really appreciated how understanding everyone there was. They gave us all the time we need, did not hurry us. I had to bring in my dog for a late evening emergency and Dr. Kelman took fantastic care of her - he gave a thorough evaluation and took the time to answer all of our questions along with detailed recommendations for follow up care. Honestly among one of the best experiences I've had with a pet hospital - you can tell they really want to give your pets the best care (no rushing you in and out like some places). The wait time for intake isn't bad either, but I'd recommend calling ahead of time just in case so they can be aware you're coming in. MedVet saved my puppy's life! He ate a rope at 8 pm and no other emergency vet would take us. First MedVet politely said they too were at capacity but then (thank god!) after hearing my story said i could come. They took my pup immediately (others had, at best, a 3 hour wait) and successfully caused him to vomit all of it. The doctor talked to me patiently. It may sound simple, but a similar situation at Adobe wasn't handled as well. read more

My cat swallowed an object and vomited blood. I love my primary veterinarian but she rarely becomes available on the same day. "We refer our patients to only MedVet," I was told. I visited MetVet Mountain View for the first time. Vet Techs were caring, warm and courteous. There was zero wait time as I visited early in the morning. Luckily, we were able to have the sharp plastic object retrieved from my cat's stomach by endoscopy. Dr. Sparago, the internal medicine specialist, was available for the procedure immediately. Dr. Passer was very patient with me and provided me options (i.e. endoscopy, surgery). She also clarified all of my questions before proceeding with endoscopy. I was very thankful that I was able to treat our cat with the less invasive approach. FYI, MetVet doesn't handle your insurance claims. You need to file insurance claims after making payments directly to the hospital. Angel, thank you for processing my multiple requests for resending me the invoices and doctor notes. read more

My dog sustained an injury to his front paw. I scheduled and appointment with his normal vet, except the soonest appointment available was in two days. Not only was I going to take a half day off of work, but his injury seemed to be getting worse. I called MedVet in Mountain View as soon as they opened and they said to bring him in. Everyone was very nice and professional. They were able to take him within a half an hour after I parked. He had an infection an I was able to start him on antibiotics that night. The consultation was a little more than a normal vet visit but I didn't miss any work and he was able to start his recovery two days sooner. Well worth it. The Dr. followed up the next day to see how he was doing. For emergency care, I would absolutely recommend MedVet. read more
