Friendly workers, love the old school decors, and the food was fantastic. I had the briskets & gravy and it was delicious!

Food Went here for a Sunday morning brunch with the wife. Ordered ourselves a breakfast burrito and a french toast. Loved the breakfast burrito, it was filled just right and had a good amount of flavor, as someone who loves heat, it could have used a bit more, but it was just the right amount for my wife, who isn't that big of a fan of heat. The French toast was really good, just the right amount of sweet and accompanied by some good preserves with tart to balance the sweetness. Service/Ambiance For a Sunday morning brunch party of 2, the wait wasn't too bad. I love the vibe of the place as it gives old school breakfast at your grandma's place. The staff were really nice and service was relatively quick as well. Definitely will come back

Bacon & Avocado Omelette w/ Potatoes

Charming, must-try breakfast/lunch spot in Bixby Knolls. The interior is immersive, definitely feels like you're visiting grandma's house with the tube tv, stained glass, and framed vintage photos. I ordered the bacon and avocado omelette. The potatoes were deliciously crispy. However the bacon in the omelette was a bit dry and seemingly overcooked. My bf ordered the Meema's classic burrito. He said it was one his favorite breakfast burritos. I also ordered the guava 'Meemosa', which was pretty good. Might not be our go to breakfast joint, but a fun place to take a friend for the first time. Got street parking right away and waited about 20 mins on a Sunday at 11am.

Meema's absolutely exceeded our expectations! The service was incredible and truly over the top--everyone was so welcoming, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our experience special. And the food was just as impressive! The steak and eggs were delicious, cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. But the real standout was the blueberry pancake stack--an easy 5/5! Fluffy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Fantastic food, amazing service, and an overall experience that made us want to come back again. Highly recommend Meema's!

This spot just took the #1 breakfast place for me in Long Beach so far. The food is fresh, full of flavor, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. A lot of what they serve feels homemade, which makes a difference. The ambiance has this cozy, old-school vibe, and the customer service has been consistently great every time I've gone. Plus, the portions are generous, definitely not leaving hungry. Prices are a bit higher than your typical breakfast spot, but honestly, it makes sense for the quality you're getting. It is a smaller space, so I recommend going early to avoid a wait or just plan ahead and make a little date out of it. There are cute shops nearby, so you can walk around while you wait. My favorites so far: the spicy chilaquiles and the steak and eggs. And listen, I'm not even a big meat eater, but I've ordered the steak and eggs three times in a row... that's how good it is. Highly recommend trying it at least once.

Adding a 2026 review, same as 2025. This place is a Gem to the Bixby Knolls LB area. This establishment has it going on with their food and Service. Food is excellent here! I am being honest on this restaurant, excellent food with great adult beverages and great service. We ordered an Avocado Toast along with a main entree of Steak and Eggs. OmG! Soo good. We go here so much that our usual waitress knows what we drink and what we usually order. Lol. Glass of water for me and bottomless Mimosa with Guava juice for wifey. Kudos to Taylor for always being on point. Her service is immaculate! Give that girl a raise :) Also giving big Kudos to Miguel the owner for keeping this establishment pleasantly awesome. Nothing but positive things about this place and location. Keep it up!!! Bravo

A small and beautiful restaurant here in Long Beach with great food and fun activities for kids. We came with one child, and they were given crayons along with a menu that included a scavenger hunt (I heard you can get something for finishing it) and a few other fun activities to keep them entertained. As for the food, we really enjoyed it. I tried the following: Biscuits and Gravy - Heavy, buttery, and delicious. I got this with tater tots and it was the perfect combo. Good chunks of beef as well. (4.5/5) Chicken Sandwich - A classic done right. It wasn't too oily and was nicely seasoned. The onion rings were fire too. (4.5/5) The service was great, they checked on us frequently, and the food came out tasty and satisfying. Definitely a solid brunch/lunch spot. Parking: We parked right out front on the street without any issues.

The spot was on my bookmark for a while. Since we had to be in the area, we finally got to give it a try. It's a very cute little place, with lots of knickknacks at your grandma would've had. They also had an old school TV that worked. It was showing very old-school cartoons, commercials, and anything you watched on TV and grew up with. Before I get into the food, I wanted to let people with sensitive noses know something. Like most places that want to keep their rooms fresh and clean, the spot has one of those pumps that spears out perfume aroma every few minutes. For me, it was a little too much, and I got on my nerves. They are quite a busy place, which explains the delay of our food. When it came out, though, I was quite happy with the result. I kept it classic with eggs, bacon, and potatoes. The eggs were a color that you normally see when the eggs are farm fresh, so there's a very good outlook. The bacon was Hickory smoked and so good. The potatoes were quartered and very crispy. My sourdough didn't come with butter, but they brought some out for me. The pancake that I shared with my partner was good, a little dense, but quite enough for us to enjoy together. She had the chorizo breakfast burrito with eggs and potatoes, and finished it. It was a decent sized burrito that was good from start to finish. The coffee that she ordered came out a very cute little cup and saucer that you would've absolutely found in your grandma's China cabinet. The service is very good and the seating was comfortable. There's a a lot to look at in the room. If you haven't come here yet, I would definitely give it a try. They also have outside seating, so next time you'll find me out there.

Friends and I went to the Expo Center on Atlantic Blvd and afterwards we chose Mee Ma's for lunch. I had the scrambled eggs, bacon , potatoes and toast. Everything was freshly cooked and made. It was tasty! My friends had the chicken and waffles. They said they were excellent! My other friend had the chicken sandwich and said it was scrumptious. At first she said she was going to eat just half and take the rest home. There was nothing left to take home! It was so good she just kept eating! The service is friendly and the owner came by to see how everything was. After we were full the owner brought use a tasting plate, complimentary, with their churro french toast, two sauces, strawberry and peach, and a homemade whipped cream! Lovely, scrumptious and so delicious! I am definitely going back to have a full serving! I definitely recommend this local brunch restaurant!

MeeMa's is a family owned breakfast restaurant in Long Beach and is perhaps one of the cutest breakfast spots in Los Angeles. Think of this as a retro theme breakfast spot with the ultimate nostalgia vibe like retro TV showing Garfield & vintage antique items. [Parking]: Street parking only, but I had no issue finding an available spot. [Menu]: They offer both classic Mexican and American breakfast items with modern twists such Chorizo Bean Breakfast Burritos, Churro French Toast, Steak and Eggs, Fried Chicken Sandwich, etc. *** Classic Breakfast Burrito (farm fresh eggs, chopped bacon, cheddar cheese, salsa verde and homemade pico de gallo, wrapped in a warm, hand made, flour tortilla - $15.50): I ordered this to-go and it came with a side of salsa. Salsa tasted good but not amazing. Chopped bacon had a hint of vinegary aftertaste from salsa. The portion was big enough to split in half for both breakfast and lunch. *** A solid 3.5-star on breakfast burrito but bump up to 4-star on unique indoor decor vibe and friendly service.

My girl Christy went out of her way to give us the brunch of a lifetime. So delicious, affordable, and great portion size. Will definitely be back!

I liked everything . Got seated quickly. All the workers were nice. The ambience was that of MeeMa's house. Countrystyle in the middle of the city. O.J was tasty. Mikey Melt and Tots were really good and had full stack of pancakes. I believe my servers name was Mya. Good job all around.

It's clear the owners put a lot of thought and creativity into making their cocktails the centerpiece of the experience. That said, the execution didn't live up to the concept. The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.

The decor definitely reminded me of my grandparents' house in Taiwan, with vintage, ornate wooden chairs, dragon/lion statue carvings, and even a historic century old marital bed that had been repurposed into a booth. The drinks were also VERY unique, with my favorite being Hua sheng (literally meaning peanut), which was crafted from a nostalgic childhood peanut milk drink. All our cocktails were crafted very well, to the point where I thought they were a bit on the lighter side since I couldn't really taste the alcohol. After a while, she informed us that the crispy rice we ordered was sold out. She mentioned that the bartender was supposed to let us know, but he never did. What made the experience more uncomfortable was that the bartender seemed to be giving most of his attention to the Caucasian customers on the other side of the bar. We were the only Asian customers there, and unfortunately, this left us feeling like we were being treated differently because of our race. The good food and drinks helped compensate for the poor service, so we decided not to let it ruin our evening. However, things got even more disappointing at the end. After I paid, I noticed that I had been charged for the crispy rice even though we never received it. I hope management sees this review and reaches out to me to address the overcharge and the overall experience. The calamari was crispy, Cajun and delicious we really enjoyed the fried lemon slices! The mozzarella balls we're good but the house bread was a stand out! It's warm, flaky, savory and the tomato chili fenell butter complemented very well. For entrees we ordered the grilled branzino, short rib Agnotolli and the truffle pesto lasagna. The Branzino was perfect and the chili crunch herb salad was amazing. The short rib agnotolli was very savory and I loved the robiola bosina. The lasagna was very good and cheesy.

It can get crowded on weekends and the worst part is having to wait in line for the elevator. The elevators are quite small and when everyone's trying to get to the rooftop bar, it can feel like you're waiting at a club just to get into the elevator. The bartenders are really cool and on weekends they have a DJ. No one really dances but it's nice to have the vibe. Definitely one of my favorite places in Long Beach right now.

My cousins and I got there around 9 p.m. on a Friday. It was steady, but when we went up for our first drinks the bar itself wasn't very busy--there were maybe two people in front of us and two behind us. I mention this because it matters for context. My cousin ordered two drinks, one for him and one for his girlfriend. We were talking and at some point I looked at his girlfriend's drink, which was already about halfway empty, and noticed a fairly large crack running across one side of the glass, right above where the remainder of her drink was. I said, "Hey, your glass has a significant crack in it," and she laughed it off and said she noticed and was just drinking from the other side. I told her she absolutely should not do that because there was already a chip near the rim and there could potentially be tiny pieces of glass in the drink. I also told her we needed to bring it to the bartender's attention because that's a legitimate safety issue. Someone who isn't paying attention could cut their lip or potentially ingest glass. By the time we went back up to the bar, it had gotten quite a bit busier. We explained what happened to the bartender and he asked if we got the drink there. We said yes and pointed out the female bartender who had originally served us. He asked what the drink was, walked away, served a few other people, and eventually brought us a replacement. We were completely patient. We understood that the bar was busier at this point, we weren't rude, and we weren't upset about having to wait. What bothered me was when he handed us the replacement and said, "Next time you need to let us know when it happens." That response really rubbed me the wrong way. It's not the customer's responsibility to inspect a glass before drinking from it, and obviously we would have said something sooner if we had noticed it sooner. Considering the bar wasn't particularly busy when the drink was originally made, I was also surprised that a crack that significant wasn't noticed before the glass was served. I did take a photo of the bartender afterward because I wanted to make sure I could identify the person involved when I brought the interaction to management's attention. I spoke with the person who identified himself as the manager and explained what happened. He said he would speak with the bartender, but the response also felt somewhat dismissive given that my concern was ultimately about customer safety and how the situation was handled. Accidents happen and glasses crack. Had the drink simply been replaced and the concern acknowledged appropriately, I honestly probably wouldn't be writing this review. It was the combination of being served a visibly cracked glass, being told that we should have notified them sooner, and then feeling like the concern wasn't taken particularly seriously when I brought it to management that ultimately prompted me to leave an honest review. Beautiful property and amazing view, but the way this situation was handled definitely left a bad impression.
