We were heading to Midsummer Scream and were looking for breakfast spots on the way. We opened TikTok to check what places would be recommended and MeeMa's was the first to pop up. In the video, they showed the Lemon Blueberry Ricotta pancakes and holy moly it looked bomb and needed to try it ASAP!!! Once we got to the place, we really liked the cozy style it had with memorabilia from back in the day. Upon sitting, the waitress mentioned that it was a scratch kitchen and they make the food fresh. Absolute pointers for that! I got the Bacon Avocado omelette. It was just the right size and the bacon pieces were so thick!! The avocado and pico de gallo was so fresh!! The crispy potatoes had the right amount of seasoning!!! First bite left me in awe!! My boyfriend got the Lemon Blueberry Pancakes and upgraded it to get the griddle which added eggs, sausage, and potatoes. He said his portion was delicious!! He really liked the sausage!! The star of the show were the pancakes. Usually, we tend to eat it after our main course. When our eyes saw it, we knew we had to try it right away. It was so fluffy and warm with the vibrant color of the blueberry compote. That first bite I took had my spirit ascending to the heavens!!!! Went in today, this will be my second time back and I love it even more. Our server was Taylor (manager), and the owner Miguel was also very active during our visit. We had a big group, two toddlers between 1 & 2 years old, & two girls between 5-7 years old; plus 7 adults. Everything was delicious, the kids loved their meals, and the staff. This place is very kid friendly, At one point my nephew was crying because he wanted to run around; the owner Miguel brought over some toys to distract him. This is honestly the most kindest staff I've experienced with children. I ordered the avocado omelette with bacon, a few of the adults ordered chilaquiles, the girls had chicken tenders with fries, one of my brothers had the steak with eggs, one of my nephews had the churro french toast which was absolutely amazing, & my other nephew had chocolate pancakes. At the very end the staff handed the children a toy with candy attached to it, they were so happy. This will definitely be our new spot. Decided to try MeeMa's on a weekday. There were people waiting for it to open. The server Miguel was welcoming and sat the 2 other parties quickly. I love the decoration of being at Grandma's and the Christmas music and show on the old school TV. I ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes making it a combo and my brother had the Briskets and Gravy. Went with step-dad before heading to SC game and it was awesome.. parking isn't great but street parking is ok. When you walk in you instantly notice all the interesting decor. There's an old TV way up near the ceiling playing old movies and such, all types of collectibles, like old cereal boxes, and kids drawings.. super homie.. 6 star on the ambiance. Service is very attentive and polite.. zero issues there. Food is tasty and interesting. I had the hangover tacos, which I grinded super fast - tasty thick bacon, homemade tortillas, perfectly cooked sunny side eggs.. loved it. We came on an early weekday morning to get some sweet breakfasts and this place didn't disappoint. They have a single (!) option for outdoor dining as far as I saw, and no working heater, so... be forewarned if you're still dining outdoors. Inside it's all kitsch. I recognized some old kitchenware from my grandmother's time, I'm almost certain - which is fitting for the name for sure. Seated inside, you'll feel just like you're in a time capsule. I recently visited Meema's in Bixby Knolls for the first time, and it completely took me by surprise--in the best way. Thank you TikTok for putting us on. When we arrived we noticed there was not much parking, so we went over a street to the local neighborhood and parked there. It was less than a 5 minute walk. The restaurant was quite small, when we arrived we put our name down and only had to wait about 15 minutes. The décor has a nostalgic feel with a lot of older decorations. There is an older TV playing black & white cartoons. The whole setup up is supposed to provide that feeling that you are at grandmas, and it does just that. We had looked at the menu prior to arriving and already knew what we wanted to order. We ordered the breakfast plate and the bacon avocado omelet. Both dishes came out just a few minutes after ordering and they tasted delicious. I would like to highlight that the breakfast potatoes were some of the crispiest well cooked potatoes I have ever had. We are looking forward to coming back in the future. I loved the decor. It's October so it was also had Halloween decorations. The service was great. The food was amazing. I think that was the best bacon I've ever had at a restaurant. I got a breakfast sandwich with some tots. My boyfriend enjoyed his pancakes. The wait was so fast. They said 20 mins or shorter. We waited about 10 mins or less, and it was a Saturday. I wish I got to take a video of the cool 1950s/60s decor, I found it to be nostalgic since growing up in the 90s that decor and dish ware was still around in our homes. Some of the chilaquiles I've had. I always have a hard time finding good chilaquiles but this one I would come back. I really liked the flavor and appreciated the crunch to the chips. I tend to find chilaquiles a lot more soggy than I want. I was good with the mild but asked for the spicy version's sauce to side & glad I did because that habanero definitely has a kick. I also ordered the raspberry pancakes which was delicious. I could have done without the pearls. I liked the idea of adding a crunch to the dish but they're pretty hard. Would order it without the pearls. It's pretty obvious things were made from scratch (as overheard from the server at another table). You can taste the quality of the food. Food is very average. Both times the food lacked any sort of presentation. Not served at all like photos. The whipped cream was watery on the lemon-zest pancakes with blueberry compote; which lacked any lemon flavor. Blueberries were in a thick sticky glob and minimal at best for the quantity of pancake. This was my second/last attempt eating here. The first attempt was a few days prior and ordered the Mikey Melt that was served without any additional garnish nor extras. A very plain looking sandwich in the middle of a large plate. Flavor was good but again the presentation was zero effort. My partner ordered the Fried Chicken Biscuit that was to be "Covered" with gravy; it was not. And again, no excitement to the plate to mask the plainess of the gravy. I came here because I saw a reel on IG. It was a cute place to eat, with lots of nostalgic items on the wall. The service was really good and fast. The food was ehhh. It was good but not great. We had the Avocado BLT and even though it tasted good, everything slid out the end of the sandwhich as I ate it. The onion rings looked sad but they actually tasted really good. My daughter and I came to MeeMa's one Saturday for an early breakfast. We often try to support local businesses. This place is so adorable. The inside took me right back to my childhood. It felt like Sunday mornings at grandmas - warm and welcoming. I ordered the omelette and pancake. Both were delicious. The pancake was fluffy and and warm with the perfect amount of sweetness. The omelette was fresh. The ingredients were fresh and it was packed with veggies. My favorite thing to eat was the home fries. The customer service here was a perfect match.
