I organized a dinner party for a large group. The team at Meet were really helpful and accommodating, and gave us two big tables in the upper section at the back of the restaurant which ended up being a good setup that felt very VIP. We were required to do the $65/pp set menu which worked out well and eliminated the complications of having each person decide what they wanted to order. It was at moments a little chaotic, with 2 staff members cooking on the grills while trying to stay on top of drink orders and other requests, but I thought overall the Meet team did a fantastic job handling everything. Tonight we went to eat at Meet Korean BBQ to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and I do not regret making the decision at all! The ambiance of the entire restaurant is quite intimate, dark with spotlights on the tables, modern and sleek interior decor, and waiters and waitresses who cook for you. Our waiter was Thomas today, and they were wonderful. I failed to ask for their pronouns so I will be using they/them. They greeted us with a kind attitude once we sat and continued the same service throughout the meal. The food was wonderful, we had our side dishes and greens on the table within seconds of being seated. We ordered the Signature Feast set was was not disappointed. Once the meet came out we were a bit confused on if we would get full but then the rest of the set came to our table and we were pleasantly surprised. I have to admit, the amount of egg surprised me. One of the better KBBQ spots in the Seattle area! Food: 5/5 Compared to a lot of the places in Seattle, the quality of the meats here are pretty good! All of the cuts tasted fresh and not frozen and the thicker cuts of meat were super tender and juicy. I came in a group of 7 and we ordered both the large of the pork and beef combos and that was the perfect amount of food for us. My favorite cuts were the Pork Jowl (super fatty cut) and the boneless short rib (consistently one of the best cuts to get at any KBBQ spot). The Kimchi stew was also one of the best I've had in awhile (definitely get this over the soybean stew) Service: 5/5 They are on the newer side so I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of service, but our server was great! She stayed with us pretty much the whole time cooking and divvying up the food for us, so all we had to do was eat and drink! Value: 4/5 Not that bad in terms of price as our group of 7 ended up being around $80 a person (we ordered 2 beef tartares as well as drinks for everybody and a bottle of soju). Overall, solid spot for KBBQ in the cap hill area. It's nice to see more KBBQ spots open up in Seattle, as you would normally have to drive down to Kent or Lynnwood for some good Korean food. read more

you can't go wrong with any of the food here. the kalbi, the pork belly, the japanese a5 wagyu. all of it was amazing and the experience and service was phenomenal. sure, it's expensive, but it's definitely worth it. i don't think true asian/Korean food has to be expensive to be good, but the experience is worth it. i loved the cocktails we ordered, especially the grand theft autumn. it tastes a lot like this cinnamon tea that i drank growing up. my husband ordered two kinds of big soju time and they were so good. growing up, i was conditioned to be ashamed of being korean. i was told that people like me didn't matter and that my differentiation from other east asians didn't matter either. i always hear "you all look the same". i grew up seeing my parents being berated and abused for trying to make an honest living and for just existing. i wasn't immune to this abuse either and my parents couldn't shield me from it. everything my "friends" have ever said about me behind my back or my "asian-ness" still reverberate in my mind. everything. i was always reduced to the harmful stereotypes. even to this day, i still am. and the pandemic hasn't made it any better either. we all know the infamous "lunchbox" moment we asian americans have collectively endured. it compounded that shame and self hatred i aimed at myself and others like me. and it makes me sad to think of the trauma i passed onto my mom for telling her to not make me korean food for lunch. even if it was just kimbap. but over the past few years, i've reconnected to my roots through cooking. mostly self taught. but the memories of tasting and testing food for my mom are as vibrant as ever. and her cooking inspires a lot of dishes i make (the healthier ones too). i use her cooking as a benchmark of what I want korean food to be. seeing and experiencing places like Meet do well and bringing in crowds of people from all over to get a taste of good Korean bbq make all those terrible memories fade. seeing their success is heartwarming and the food was delicious. and it makes me appreciate who i am and where i come from, even more. thank you for an amazing experience. read more

One of my favorite new korean bbq spot. The meat quailty is excellent. We had about 10 people and we order 1 large beef come 1 large pork combo and 1 small beef combo. Plus several bottle of beer and soju. The total end up to be around $600, which consider the amount of meat and beer we got it is actually not too bad. The services is great. I didnt have to grill the meat myself although i love to. And the side dishes are great as well and like many other korean place the small dishes are unlimited. I recommend the bean paste soup if you get the combo. Within a month of this place open i think i been there atlease 3 times. Amazing spot. Keep up the good work. My boyfriend & I ordered the Beef Feast and everything about the meal was so so delicious. The meats were juicy and tender, and the red sauce and smoked salt to go along with the beef complemented the meat very well. We were both pretty full by the end of the meal, so I would say a small feast is more than enough for two people. I also ordered the peach Big Soju Time and as someone who doesn't drink at all (and doesn't enjoy the taste of alcohol at all), this cocktail has now become my favorite drink. It was sweet, but not too sweet, and quite refreshing (plus I couldn't taste the alcohol at all which was a huge plus). After my second visit, i am giving this place a rating from 5 to 4 stars. First of all, i love the overall dining experience here from service, food, ambiance and price. However, the last time i went there were a couple flaws. I ordered the same thing as last time (two orders of signature) and this time i tried their beef tar tar and new beverages. The signature comes with various sides like soup, egg soufflé and kimchi fried rice (which is amazing). The kimchi fried rice comes in a sizzling cast iron dish, which is awesome for keeping the warmth. However, as soon as i took the first bite of it, i could taste a very strong chemical flavor. After confirming with my friend who could also taste the strong chemical flavor from the fried rice in all three bites we took we asked our waitress and they brought a new dish which had 0 chemical smell or taste. Then the meat.. signature includes pork & beef and the meat parts change constantly depending on whats available/fresh. This time our selection was pretty bad and we got a lot of tough parts that couldnt be saved in any way. I was pretty disappointed at my last visit. Next time i go i will just order the meat parts i want instead of getting the signature or just go to Son of Butcher in East Lake. read more

First and last time we are going to "meet". Value: 1/5 Comfort: 1/5 Meat Quality: 4/5 Service: 2/5 On a positive note, the best thing about this place is the quality of the meat. The price is outrageous for what you get. $180 for 2 people and the quantity of meat you get is small. It's not like a chef is cooking you nice steak, you have a waiter/waitress just turning the meat over when they thinks it's ready. Sitting on some super uncomfortable bar chairs at a tiny table is not upscale. Then you have this giant snake (fan) hanging in front of you over your food. As far as the service, we did not receive the sauces at the start of the meal and the waiter completely omitted it until I asked. Also I didn't have water almost the entire meal. I had to ask some other worker in the restaurant to get some water. Also when you enter this place, you have a hostess that shoves a box of masks in your hand and says "you need a mask to be in here". Don't get this confused, I have nothing against masks (though I am fully vaccinated), but the way she greeted us was just rude. read more

I loved the vibes here, and most of the meat was delicious and tender. However, our first cut, I think it was wagyu, was so chewy it was insane. And I'm sorry if this gross. But my dad and I are not the types to easily think beef is chewy. We are very much the strong chewers in our family lol but yeah we didn't want to spit it out because we didn't have paper napkins, there wasn't much space on our plate or on the table for that matter, we didn't want to be gross/rude, and the meal is expensive. And then when we decided to spit it out the servers had no choice but to see it on our plate the rest of the meal as they cooked our meats and served it on our plates. I felt very awkward. And with the 500 chews I gave to the first pieces of meat, my mouth was tired and I felt full so quickly. So I was way too stuffed way too early. I've had better Korean bbq in smaller cities than this place. For a big city to offer this level of food, it was disappointing. The inside of the restaurant is clean, welcoming, and love the decor. It's very aesthetically pleasing. We sat down and got our side dishes and kimchi soup. They served us the signature beef option even though we ordered pork so be careful with that! The waiter looked flustered and stressed when we addressed it, so we just accepted the beef we were served. I didn't think kimchi could be flavorless (it lacked spice, garlic, and acidity) but I think this place managed to do that and that's maybe because we came in an hour before close and they ran out of the good stuff? (Side note: To be considerate of their closing times, we told our waiter we could get everything to go since it cooked fairly fast but they were accommodating and didn't rush us.) During the whole meal, I wasn't able to tell if I was getting lectured by our waiter on how to eat beef or he was being informative but we wanted to be polite and accepted the information. We pretty much got everything cooked and in a to go box and gave it away as soon as we left the restaurant to the less fortunate. The food was terrible. It did not have any flavor. I've been missing Koreatown and Korean BBQ since moving up from LA and I found a piece of it at Meet! If you've never been to LA's K-Town, the Korean cuisine there is second only to Korea itself in my opinion. I'm very particular about my KBBQ and have been looking for one that I like and finally found the place that reminds me of K-Town. Their restaurant is so cute and modern and doesn't have any smokiness due to their great ventilation systems. But the real stars are the food(meat is so tender and delicious) and the service is above and beyond, everyone who works there stops by every table, doesn't matter who's table it is and fixes and flips the meat to perfection. My spouse and I have eaten a LOT of Korean food in many countries including S Korea. Meet in Seattle WA is hands down the best we have experienced. we ordered their signature sets and we struggled to finish all the meat which are top grade beef and pork. While Im not a big fan of wagyu as I find it too rich, one cant argue how tender it is. The side dishes are awesome and just as important as the meat. My spouse doesnt usually like the tofu soup, but she said its the best she ever tried and finished the bowl. Finally, thumbs up to the team here. Our table grill master ran from table to table cooking meat and still met all our needs from extra dishes to sesame oil. I rarely give 5 stars but Meet deserves it. read more

My friends and I came here Friday evening for happy hour. We had a group of 5 and found out that their happy hour prices were only available at the front of the restaurant for groups of 4 or smaller. Since we had four of us arrive first we sat at the happy hour area and began ordering. When our last friend arrived they were so accommodating and brought an extra chair for him to squeeze in so we didn't have to move. We really appreciated this from them. Onto the food! This was me and my husband's second time and the meat on happy hour has been SO good! For $15 per order of beef or pork belly, you get a decent amount! We all enjoyed the beef the most! Our server was Evan who was AWESOME! He was attentive and made great conversation with us! When we wanted more side dishes including some potatoes, he always made sure we had what we requested. He saw that we loved the potatoes and told us to let him know if we'd like more. He brought out extra for us! We also ate the chicken wings, lunch box, and the wagyu bibimbap. Everything was delicious. The cocktail drinks were also good! I tried almost all of them but my favorite so far is the New York Groove. It's not overly sweet and tasted amazing. I consider this one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I did not consider myself a steak/meat lover until I tasted this. Dipping some of the steak pieces in that salt was literally one of the greatest experiences of my life. It is expensive but it has some of the best quality meat in town. Just ask the owner, they get it form a certain farm and have it delivered like every day or something like that. I loved this restaurant so much!! I will be fair and say I have not tried many koren bbq places. They also cooked the meat in front of us and we did not do it ourselves. Make sure to reserve ahead while the post-COVID foot traffic prolongs walk-in wait times of up to 1 hour. Our party of 4 made reservations for dinner in the morning of the day of, and were quickly seated as soon as we arrived around 6pm. Incredibly clean, with the aroma of seared steaks and pork bellies, the experience dining here was definitely the right amount of casual blended with classy--you'll enjoy eating here regardless of whether you're here with friends, family, or business partners. The Price: A steakhouse can be expensive, and so can KBBQ places--we're dealing with nice slabs of well-marbled meats after all. Meet BBQ is no different and nothing out of the ordinary. Our group typically expects to spend anywhere between $35 - $70 per person on KBBQ in the Seattle and Eastside areas, depending on the quality and quantity of the meat consumed. Meet BBQ lands itself in the upper echelon of that price range, but the quality and quantity of the food marry nicely, with each of us being satisfied for the amount we spent on our meal (enough to come back a second and third time for some of us!). The Food & Flavor: Let's not mince words here. The meat here is remarkable. Everything else is average but nothing to write home about. I would go so far to say of all of the KBBQ restaurants in this area, the price-quality ratio of the beef and pork here are bar none at the top of the game. A large Beef set and small Pork set is enough to feed 4-6 people (depending on your appetite--YMMV but we're definitely big eaters in our group), and we particularly recommend trying out the different Beef cuts a la carte to truly experience the flavor of beef in a number of different ways. Unfortunately, the banchan (opening starter dishes) and pre-cooked items like the egg soufflé, Kalbi, and Spicy Pork were a little underwhelming and tasted a bit like an afterthought compared to the care that went into selecting the meat cuts. For a full-on KBBQ experience, I do put value and weight into these smaller dishes, but suffice it to say the experience of the meat was pleasantly distracting enough that this review stops short of a 5 star here. The Summary: Meet BBQ is headed by the owner of Chan in Pike Place, which carries a similar atmosphere of great Korean food fused with modern American flair. While its clear that great care went into selecting its flavor profiles, ingredients and overall experience, the somewhat transparent fusion of traditional Korean food with American elements is not without its shortcomings. While the meat selection here is incredibly tasteful, the banchan and hot appetizers leave much to be desired versus a "true" KBBQ experience akin to one in Seoul or Koreatown in LA. For anyone looking for the nitty gritty rough-around-the edges place to enjoy drinking a cold beer/soju with friends while downing endless KBBQ, Meet BBQ may be a tad bit pricy and classy for what it is. But for anyone in the greater Seattle area looking for incredibly well-selected cuts of meat, this is the place to be. read more
