On 10/15/22 I had a agreement to pick up my rental car at 6:30pm, renting the car for 1 week. When I called the business at 6:14, the phone went straight to voicemail, the voicemail stating the business was closed. Google's business hours for this company confirmed this, citing they closed at 6:00. I left 3 voicemails with the company, marking the last 2 as urgent. Airport information helped me by calling as well. Our stay was intended elsewhere, so I ended up having to rent a car with another company as there was nothing else I could do, costing me 2.5x the amount of my original rental. The company never called me back per my request in my messages. I called again on 10/18, to which they told me I was a no-show, stating they had no missed calls or voicemails from me. We confirmed phone numbers and exchanged call logs. We determined their phone system must have been malfunctioning as they didn't receive any calls that day after 5:38pm. They agreed to refund my money and waive the no show fee, but have not yet done this. Even if they refund me what I paid; I'm still out an extra $463.80 as I had to make a new, same day car rental. They are unwilling to accept any responsibility for this extra charge I've accrued. When I asked to speak to the owner I was informed "it won't do you any good, he doesn't speak English". I filed a report with the Better Business Bureau, who is reporting no return contact from MC Mega Rental. They left me with an incredibly stressful experience and out a significant amount of money. Whatever you do do not rent a vehicle from Maga MC!!! Upon arriving to their location. They informed me that they didn't have the car that I had reserved and the only other was $20 a day more. They gave me the option to pay the $20 a day extra or they could drop me back off at the airport. Reluctantly I paid the extra money. After returning the car I then was charged an extra $153 for toll road fees. Then they charged me $50 more dollars for a refueling fee. I travel frequently throughout the last 25 years in the Army. I've rented hundreds of cars over the years and never had any extra charges like this. Please take my advice and do not ever use Mega MC for a rental! read more

Reservation made via Orbitz. Called me the night before and asked if I could extend my pick up time from 10:30am until 3:00pm. I responded with a NO because we had to drive 3 hours to get to a wedding. I was told "no problem", and that the car would be ready in the morning. At 10:00am the next morning, they called to inform me there would be no cars available until 3:00pm. Enough said.........we'll never use Economy RAC (aka Mega MC in Charlotte) again. read more

WARNING: STAY AWAY - I am not one for giving bad reviews, unless it is ABSOLUTELY necessary. This just goes to show why I prefer taking my business to a major rental company vs a smaller one. I am a business owner of three different companies myself and I truly understand the impact and value of good (if not GREAT) customer service. I rented the vehicle due to an unexpected occurence in my Georgia office that needed to be handled immediately. It was very last minute, so I came here for the convenience. I planned to return at 2:00pm yesterday, but the time got away from me before I could call to extend. I received a clearly RUDE and unprofessional text at 3:56pm with accusations of me attempting to steal their vehicle. This text was wildly abbrasive and very unneccessary. A simple follow up text that mentions the rental due back time would have been more than plenty and gone a long way. After Covid19, I have noticed companies are just hiring to fill space in oppose to hiring the best people suited for the job. They are completely dropping the ball of customer interactions and customer service. Their staffing definitely needs more training in the arena of handling their customers with proper respect and decency. I handle hundreds of clients weekly and this would never be acceptable or appropriate in the slightest. I will be sure to inform all of my staffing and clients of this HORRIBLE experience. This is a great company and they picked us up from the airport they were on time (shuttle arrived within 15 min and we were on the road with our car within 30 min. We were given the best price out of all the other rental places. We were brought back to the airport from their office within 15 min for our flight back. Mega MC had the best prices we could find for a car rental over Memorial Day weekend. The office is very close to the Charlotte airport and they offer a free shuttle service. We were upgraded for free, and the Corolla we got had great gas mileage, even in the mountains. Staff was friendly and we had a great conversation on the way to the airport. We plan to use this business next time we are in Charlotte and will recommend to others! read more

Worst car rental experience! They are off airport and do not make that clear. No running shuttle. You have to call and arrange a pick-up. When I arrived at their office, they then tell me I must present my auto insurance policy or take their insurance, otherwise they will not rent the car. I explained my credit card covers damage and I have insurance. In the end, I cancelled the reservation and rented from a major car rental company. read more

I booked a car rental in April for September it was listed as 5.25 a day ( yes shocking to me too but I had looked several times on different days) I paid in full about 6 weeks ago I get a text message that thre was an error in the system ad the car with they'll be $32 a day. I called and spoke with them. Explain the situation that I didn't understand how they could increase the rate from 5.25 to 32? I looked through the rental agreement that I got when I booked the car rental. There's nothing in there that says if they can change the rate. The first person that I spoke to on the phone was very nice and then the "manager "came on the phone and all he kept repeating to me was they can cancel my reservation or keep it at $32 a day. I told him that this is the third time I've rented from them in one year and I really liked renting from them that I've had a great experience with them and the last time that I rented from them is $20 a day that how can you increase 500% when somebody paid in full my rental agreement says paid in full or amount due is zero. He must've repeated 10 times all I can do is give you a refund or keep the rate at $32 . will not do service here again. read more

Be aware that this company has a policy that is not advertised on their website nor shows up when you book a car. I recently made a reservation for 2 months (58 days). It went through on the booking. However, when I called to find out some particulars about the car the next day, I was told I would have to bring it in after 30 days for service. If it needed service, I would have to get a different car. I would not have known about this policy had I not called and as I will be staying outside Charlotte, I find it very inconvenient and frankly unnecessary. No other rental agency does this! If this is their policy, it needs to be clearly stated in writing. Sounds very unprofessional to me. I know it is a new company , but it must be transparent about this. read more

Upon arrival on Wednesday, 7/26, I was stunned by the location's appearance. The establishment is approximately 1-2 miles from the airport and looks like an old, used car lot. That was the first red flag and I should have gone with my inclination of returning back to the airport to another establishment. Secondly, they had a compact-sized car ready and waiting for us. When I mentioned it, I was told that that is what I reserved and was showing in the system. I immediately retrieved my confirmation email to show that I reserved a mid-sized car. We were charged an additional $15/day for a Toyota Camry which, by definition, is a midsized car, but they deemed as a full size. After a lengthy and hot check-in process, the tire service light was on in the first Camry that was issued. We were told that the tire had just been replaced and he would get someone to reset the system. We requested a different car and was accommodated. I asked for the registration paperwork and he said that it was emailed to me. I questioned what to do if I, for some reason, should need it and he said to refer to the email and not to speak negatively. Before leaving I specifically asked if someone would be available to receive the car and transport us back to the airport when returned because we had an early flight. We were assured that someone would be there. In fact, the gentleman said he would most likely be there because he's the manager and is always there. Unfortunately, that wasn't true. On Monday, 7/31, from approximately 5:20 a.m. until we arrived, I called three times and left messages to ensure someone would be there. When we arrived around 5:55 a.m. another couple were sitting inside their car outside the locked gate. They had been waiting since 5:30 a.m. and, like me, had repeatedly called with no answer. After about 20 minutes, we left and proceeded to long-term parking so not to miss our flight. Once again, I called and left a message stating where the car was located and why we had no other option, but to leave. By then I had already checked the website to see that they were supposed to open at 5:30 a.m. Around 7:20 a.m. I called again and a female answered the phone who said they had just arrived at 7:00 a.m. I told her where the car was and that I was about to board the plane. She assured me they would retrieve the car and leave me a message to confirm once they did. Fast forward to about 10:40 a.m., I called, yet AGAIN, because I had not received a voicemail. At that time they STILL had not retrieved the car. Once again, she said that she would call to confirm. It is now Wednesday, 8/2/23 at 11:30 a.m. and I have yet to receive a call back or voicemail from them. Take my advice to avoid the hassle: book from a reputable agency where you will receive professional, courteous and reliable service. read more

Horrible company. They allowed me to book at a very low rate. They cancelled my reservation 4 days later saying there was a mistake on the website and the price was too low. It's not my fault they made the mistake. If they truly care about customer service they would honor the rate that THEY put on their website... or maybe this is part of their game... bait and switch or misleading practices. This is the most deceitful company I have ever encountered. Their online reservation system states that they are located at CLT, the official code for the Charlotte Airport. The confirmation email also stated that they are located at CLT. Nope, they are a 15 minute ride away. The second horrible surprise is that they tack on a $50 cleaning fee! Really? Had a great experience with Mega MC. Rented a Toyota Camry which drove great and was very clean. Needed an extra day which they granted. Texted me updates which was nice. I had the ability to use a debit card as well which was a bonus. The location is semi hidden, and they are a newer company, but that was not an issue. Its good to see a smaller local business growing. I will be renting from them again in the future. read more

Pros: - Friendly shuttle driver and the shuttle was a clean and comfortable Mercedes van. - Shuttle came quickly once we called to let them know we arrived at CLT. - Competitive pricing compared to others companies available at the airport. Cons: - Not located at the airport (10-15 minute shuttle drive). - Check in process was longer than national rental services and I had to ask to see the car before signing that there was no damage. - Fuel tank was not at the full line when I picked it up (probably 90-95% full) - There is only one shuttle, so if you just miss it, then its 25-30 minutes until the next one. If flying into CLT, I would likely recommend a national brand at the airport over Mega MC for the convenience, but if the price is right, then it is worth the additional time. read more

In fact they noticed I was over paying and reduced my rental fee. No way one of the big ones would ever do that. Super satisfied and will definitely rent from them again. BEWARE!!!!! Mega MC car rental company is a SCAM! You think you are renting from Economy Car Rental but you are renting from Mega MC car rental. They are just using a big car company name ad reputation. You have to deal with this horrible company! You reserve a car and they don't have it! They give you a lower class car or whatever they have left on the lot that they can find the keys to. The agent, Daniel, is rude, inefficient (we were there for one hour) and LIES to you. We reserved a mid SUV (Santa Fe or Rogue or similar) and they tried to tell us that we reserved a mid size car until I showed them my reservation. They had an upgraded car on the lot but lied to us that the car was prepaid and they couldn't give it to us. When we returned our car the upgraded car was still there. No one rented it but they would not give it to us instead we had to take the smaller car (for 5 of us), a Toyota Camry. Also, he lied about needing an EZ pass tag for tolls. He told us, "there are many tolls everywhere" and it would cost us more money if we didn't rent his EZ pass tag. There was not one toll anywhere! We paid $21 for nothing and he refused to give us our money back after we called him out on his lie. We were there at 7:30PM and it was dark when we finally were given a car (8:30PM) and there was no light in the lot to look at the car for any damages. We had to use our cell phone lights to check it out and (good thing) we took pictures of the chips of paint and few scratches that we noted before we drove off. He also lied that he would send me the pictures of the car that he took. He told me that he would email me pictures and the notes that I asked him to write with the pictures listing the damages that we were getting the car with. I never got the email of the pictures and when I called the next day to tell another agent that I am still waiting for the pictures and the contract that I was asked to sign (without seeing it or receiving a copy in my hand) she said that they do not email pictures of the car to the customer and that is only for them to see. WHAT A SCAM! It's a good thing that we took our own pictures before we left the lot. The email of the contract had a link to click which did not work until she sent it as an attached PDF to my email. I have always rented cars and was always able to read the contract before I was asked to sign. Daniel asked us to sign for the car before we could read what we were signing and just told us "everything will be emailed to you". When we returned the car we took pictures and videos of the condition of the car (which was the same as when we received it) and a day later when I called AARP Travel Center to complain he tried to say that we returned the car with scratches on it and we would be receiving a bill from them for the scratches. They also took a $350 security deposit from us when we rented the car for any damages. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!!! No one will help you if you have trouble with them. Economy Car Company will tell you to deal with the merchant. They are not cooperative and a horrible company to deal with!!!!! Stay Away!!! Rent from a reputable company at Charlotte Airport. They are two miles away from the airport and have a dinky little lot behind an auto body shop!! This should have been a red flag! Mega MC manager was supposed to call us back but we never heard from her. They don't care about the customer and try to scam you every which way! STAY AWAY!!! read more

We got amazing service from Brianna and the crew at MegaMC. We've been Hertz Gold, etc. customers for a long time but it seems like bigger is NOT better. With the big rental companies, it's go to this desk, now go to that desk, look this up, don't have you in the system, etc. Brianna has a can-do, care-about-you attitude (we really felt like a valued customer, a human being!), actually solves problems herself, coordinated well w/her team. So nice that picking up and returning, see the same faces and it's not just an anonymous, un-empowered set of employees treating us, the customers, anonymously. Way more efficient AND a pleasure with whom to do business. read more
