I have been dinning at Mehran for almost 25 years. Fiaz and Ashok have always been very hospitable with their service and delicious food. The ambiance reminds me of Lahore every time I visit Mehran. Due to the Coronovirus , it's unsafe to have an elderly person's birthday party with a large group of people. There are travel bans, schools are now closed, and people are required to work from home. I've reached out numerous times for a refund and a deposit. Faiz, who I've been in contact with, doesn't follow up in regards to what "he can do." He says he's closed on Monday- but doesn't bother to reply to texts and calls Wed, Thurs, or Friday. I understand he wants to postpone but this is a national problem. I hope you don't think it's ethical to keep someone's deposit in a time such as this. Poor customer service since it doesn't benefit him (them) as a business shows lack of character and internal greed. I'll have to take it up with my credit card. read more

They have a really good lunch buffet that's not overpriced, and good variety of curry dishes and dry options and sides. This is probably my favorite for Indian or Pakistani food ever! You want some delicious curry with Kebabs? Man they got that. You want Biryani with Chicken Tikka? Mehran's is the best I've eaten. Ask for a sliced lemon or two to squeeze over your chicken tikka with sone naan and MAN its legendary! I have eaten there so many times I've lost count. Excellent service, really really good food and a darn good place for takeout. I've also come here many times for people hosting events or celebrations! You can reserve the place and cater! I have ordered turkey dinner for 2 families. They cooked it fresh & good presentation. Food was taste yummy & flavorful. I specially requested for little bit spicy. Turkey turns out to be good in taste, juicy & well cooked & it comes with mixed veggies alongside of it. On sides, we have mashed potatoes (balanced salt & black pepper) & stuffing (bit spicy). This place has been around forever. I think they focus more on catering since I hardly ever see customers over here. They have a huge hall that you can rent for banquets and such. Ordered the tandoori chicken, paneer tikka masala and nan yesterday. The food was good but I found a piece of lamb in the paneer tikka which threw me off. I have been going to Mehran for more than 2 years ordering online food. Every time, my experience has been so and so, but I loved their biryani so I continued to order. Why the 1 star? 1. The man in the front with a mustache has no customer respect nor appreciation. "Why don't you order by calling us?" I told him it's easier for me to order online and why does it matter? If you don't like online orders, get off!!! Do not give me a disgusted look! 2. This restaurant is the first place I have seen where you tell you customers to walk up to the side table and pick up your food. How dare you point at me and tell me where the food is with a grumpy look! Do not disrespect me if I order online because you gave the people that option. 3. I ordered two biryanis - lamb and chicken. Why does the biryani taste like rice, salt and mix of the chicken and lamb. There is not how biryani tastes. There wasn't a menu pasted on the outside of the window and curtains were blocking an outside view into the restaurant. Faith was abound as we entered. It wasn't crowded, but in the past we've driven by this establishment several times to see a ton of people walking in and out of this place. A thousand Pakistani peeps can't be wrong, eh? We were greeted by two very nice gentlemen who guided us to our table. Nice start. The menu was simple and we weren't that hungry, so we ordered the basics, Tandoori Chicken, Aloo Palak (medium), naan and rice. Indian Chai tea was also ordered. Okay, buffet-style is only served during lunch (which we detest-must be the orange lights or something) so I had some high expectations as the other Yelpers gave this place some high marks. Sheeyt...this was the best Pakistani food I had in a loooong time. Everything was done just right; the spice on the Tandoori chicken was just right - and not dry like you would find other fowl baking under a heat lamp. The Aloo Palak (spinach and potatoes) was awesome. The rice was a little dry, but the naan was done to perfection. And the bill...paltry. I've spent more and got less at other places. Oh, and while we were eating dinner 3-4 parties came in to case the place....looks like they were planning a future event (bday party, weddings, whoknowswhat). Mehran catered four different events for our wedding festivities. Chef Fiaz created a unique menu for each of our events. We were able to serve different flavors each time such as Chinese, Indian, Afghani and Pakistani. The servers were so kind and always arrived on time and stayed until the end. They provided everything we needed including plates, utensils, burners, etc. Our family is very picky when it comes to food but each item served was divine! We were so pleased with the food and it really was top notch. In particular, the nihari, chicken sandwiches, goat biryani, aaloo tiki and ras malai were particularly memorable. I absolutely love this place. The food is outstanding and prices are super reasonable. If you are looking to host a big party and want to be taken care of without any worries whatsoever, then this is the place for you. Apart from great food and really yum desserts, the hospitality of the staff is extremely pleasant. I have catered 4 or 5 times from this place and have hosted a party there recently, the manager was super accommodating and helpful . He helped us from beginning till the very end and gave us a really good deal on pricing. During the party, he remained on this toes to ensure there were no problems so the hosts could focus on the guest entertainment. Bay area has a lot of restaurants but this is one place where the food taste is extremely close to authentic food that you will find in india/pakistan if not better. read more

Food and hall was 5/5 for mehndhi Event I attended. There appetizers and main course were equally good. -1 for bathrooms!
