I moved to this area and had to find a new dentist; I was immediately impressed with the number of top reviews that Melko Dental had so I was excited to try them out. I was saddened by a couple things: 1) Firstly, they have sent me to pay a $595 bill for a routine DENTAL CLEANING even though I have proof from the insurance company that a check was already issued to them for this money. I couldn't believe it. Imagine your shock when, after a routine cleaning, the dentist sends you a $595 bill for the service. I have written paperwork that the insurance company had already issued them a check (see the screenshot, taken directly from my company's portal). So they are effectively trying to collect $1,190 -- $595 from me and $595 from the insurance company. It could be an honest mistake but the headache I've had in trying to track this down is insane. And now I need to go back and forth with them 2) Also, you should know that all of their reviews are solicited and not fully authentic. They send you ~5+ emails to write reviews, and continuously remind you to write reviews so effectively, they are better at logistically getting people to write reviews -- it's not that they have a better service itself. 3) A big chunk of the time was taken trying to convince me of problems in my teeth and how to fix them. For me, ethics and not trying to double-charge customers is a top priority in dentists. I would consider taking this review down if this double bill is fixed but it's deeply saddening that they would do this kind of thing to community members. read more

I've been going to Melko Dental for 7 years now. Dr. Melko is so compassionate and so expert that I have never trusted any doctor's, dentist's, or orthodontist's judgments more than hers and her team's. Currently, I'm on braces, which makes maintenance harder and requires regular cleanings every three months--something my orthodontist never brought up! I'm glad I visited Dr. Melko midway through my ortho treatment; otherwise, given the calculus hiding under the wires, between teeth, and under my gums, I would have ended up losing teeth rather than straightening them. I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Kristin for my deep cleaning last week! She made the entire process absolutely painless. Working under the gums can be challenging, but she took her time to perfectly numb the area. I honestly felt like I was at a spa session rather than a dental appointment! I've had two deep cleaning sessions with Kristin in the past few years, and both have been absolutely painless. Kristin is hands down the best hygienist who has ever worked on my teeth. She is incredibly gentle and constantly explains what she's doing, making me feel comfortable throughout. Plus, she offers great tips for better dental care to avoid needing deep cleaning for years to come. The office staff are all very nice, patient, caring and accommodating. I needed cleaning urgently, and they did whatever they could to fit me in. Dr. Melko is an awesome dentist. I have gone to her for a number of years. She has placed several implants that have been life changing. She is very competent and does a wonderful job, always keeping you informed of the plan and her procedures. Last week Kirsten, her dental hygienist did a very thorough teeth cleaning for me. Probably the best I've ever had! Friendly, careful and makes it so easy and pain free you almost forget you are having your teeth cleaned :) Sans, who answers their phone and who is always willing to go out of her way to fit you in for an appointment is stellar. Christine her dental assistant has been kind and careful and "held my hand" through many procedures. The staff is A+. I would highly recommend this as your dentist of choice. read more

No ethics. Very dishonest dentist. I had a very bad experience with this provider and doctor. On the initial call, they asked for my insurance information, and then told me my insurance was all good, I was fully covered and I can just come for the visit. They asked me to pay upfront, and told me insurance company will reimburse me with a check with similar amount. I felt a bit awkward, because I've never done that with my previous dentist. But I accepted anyway. At the end of the visit, they billed me in total close to $400 for an X-ray and a basic exam (most of the time it was the dentist assistant soliciting their expensive Invisalign procedure, and the doctor was just with me for less than 5 minutes). Yesterday I learned that my insurance company would only pay about $100 because the provider is out-of-network, and that's the maximum allowance that the insurance can cover. I felt fooled by this dentist. They asked me for the details for my insurance at the very beginning, even the photocopy of front and back of my insurance card. But they didn't even tell me the very basic info about the network. I believe they intentionally did that just to get the business. It wouldn't be their first time doing this either. So, save your hard earned money and avoid this provider! read more

I've never written a review, despite being on this app for over 10 years. But my experience here was so bad, I felt like it would be irresponsible not to warn others (particularly because I chose to come here based on reviews). Reception is friendly, but my interactions with Dr. Melko were contentious at best. Long story short, I went for whitening (because my dentist didn't offer it) and for my first visit they gave me a free X-ray set. Dr Melko came in and said I had two cavities and needed a deep cleaning with anesthesia. I just kind of blinked at this and said let's start with the whitening. She got upset and asked if I was "calling her a liar." She raised her voice and pointed to the X-rays and asked "don't you see the cavities?" And I said I don't know how to read X-rays (and I suppose that was her point). Anyway, I didn't give in to her bullying, but it was the most uncomfortable I've ever been. I went back to my trusted dentist for a second opinion. I had no cavities, and no deep cleaning was required. My regular 6 month cleaning sufficed. I find it deeply creepy that a Dr was trying to strong arm me into services I didn't need, ones that require drilling and anesthesia. And to argue with me about it is beyond me. The whole experience was super invasive emotionally (and attempted, physically). Lastly, the whitening was so painful, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. read more

This office is simply THE BEST! I have been going to this office for years and am always impressed with the service provided. Sabrina at the front desk is a kind and cheery presence who goes above and beyond to make sure appointments are accommodated- Christina is a very professional and gentle presence who manages to communicate even with equipment in your mouth. I had a four hour appointment with Dr. Melko, during which she removed two old crowns, repaired the molars, and replaced the old crowns with crowns fabricated in her office. She and her assistant, Katie, were wonderful! They made sure I was comfortable the entire time I was there. I went to Dr. Melko for three years and was generally pleased with the standard of care (especially from Terry!). Just be sure to have a thorough understanding of what your insurance benefits cover. This office was very aggressive with me in scheduling appointments frequently (every 3 months) even when my insurance only allowed for two visits per year which resulted in me having to pay a significant amount out of pocket. Most offices will be upfront when your benefits expire but the team here seems more monetarily focused rather than seeing patients only when needed. read more

I have never had a dentist that was willing to work with my needs as much as Dr. Malak, as picky as I am with environmentally harming products. This clinic is so warm and relaxing. This is by far the BEST dental experience I've ever had! Dr. Malek and his assistant Sabrina made me feel comfortable, calm, respected, listened-to, and very welcome at their office. I've never had a dentist actually take the time to explain to me how cavities form, for example, or even have the patiece to answer my questions. They are all about building the relationship and ensuring that I, as the patient, am satisfied by the time I leave. They are warm, friendly, courteous and professional in all that they do. Every other dentist I've been to is rushing through the exam, in a poor mood, is rough with the instruments in my mouth and basically told me to suck it up and deal with it becuase they're trying to attend to 2+ patients at once. Dr. Malek is the complete OPPOSITE! He's calm, patient, and thorough. If I am uncomfortable, he pauses so I can get comfortable. Not to mention the fact that they provide everyone with the option of using a heated neck wrap, heated eye mask, ipod, movie, and/or massage chair cushion at every visit. The office feels like a spa and the whole atmosphere is peaceful and calming. Plus, it's a certified Green business. Why would I go anywhere else? Seriously? They even gave me a bamboo stalk at my first visit as a welcome gift! Everyone must experience this dental office! You'll look forward to you visits! Dr Malek has to be one of the best dentists you can visit. I know alot of people have a hard time visiting this type of Dr but I can assure his whole office staff is quick to put you at ease. He does not make you feel bad for not making your teeth a top priority and he does the most gentle but thorough work. I opted for the invisalign treatment to fix a minor personal issue I had with the alignment in my teeth. Dr Malek was very comforting througout the whole process; being extremely attentive about everything and anything I had to say. People may think that the whole plastic tray process may not be as effective as braces, but it is actually convenient. One does not have to worry about extreme pain all day or not being able to chew food. The containers for the trays are very useful, too.The process itself does not get in the way of one's lifestyle and is worth every penny! Malek Dental is the best dentist I've ever been to.As soon as you walk in it feels like your at a spa, not the sometimes dreaded dentist. You're instantly relaxed due to the surroundings of waterfalls, and entrancing music to ease your fears. They offer you many different options while your getting your services rendered including: Ipod to listen to, eye mask, neck warmer smelling like lavender, amongst other things. It has a courteous and professional staff. Your first greeting is by a cheery white straight smile from the Office Manager. Followed by a friendly and helpful Dental Assistant. Dr. Malek is extremely nice and gentle! I had my teeth cleaned and usually I'm sore after this, but not when he did it. He uses some sort of water vibrating system to clean your teeth which is such a breath of fresh air for me coming from the old school ways of cleaning with metal tools. I'm currently going through the process of Invisilgn! Yay! I had a gap like Madonna's and now, 5 months later it's almost closed and my teeth are straighter and my overbite is being corrected. I can finally relax my jaw, I don't find myself clenching it anymore. My gap has affected me and my self esteem for a long time and to have it in the process of being fixed is the most amazing experience. Thanks to Dr. Malek and his professional staff my teeth are clean, on their way to becoming straight, and they don't hurt anymore. I actually enjoy going to the dentist. I thought my experience with Dr Melko was exceptional.  I am a physician myself, and I can tell when a medical professional is really skilled and competent.  Dr. Melko did extensive work on me, and she did an amazing job.  What I appreciated most was her bedside manner.  She honestly told me the pros and cons of different treatment choices, and what I liked most was that she was NOT trying to sell me anything.  She was focused instead on the best treatment choices for me.  She even mentioned that what another dentist recommended wasn't necessary yet, and that we would keep a watchful eye before I had to pay the expense of additional treatment.  Her staff was great too.  In terms of downsides, the office was too warm for me temperature wise, but when I commented they made it more comfortable read more
