My husband and I go here on a regular basis and we have never had bad food or bad service. The service is top of the line. We have gone maybe 4 times in the last month and each time I have had a different server but each time I got amazing service to the point where I am almost going back just for the service of the food wasn't so good. I love Mellow Mushroom but this location was sub-par. Bad service and horrible bloody Mary's. I don't think the bartender has ever made one before. We had to wait a long time to get waters after that and after getting the food I don't think the server came back once before us requesting the check. Pizza was good though of course. read more

Dont listen to the negative reviews, the new mellow mushroom is not only delivering the same laid back and hippe vibe (drinks like the Micheal Phelps, or deserts like the Mary Jane brownie) but also has the same great fun atmosphere and art galore. For example, the place is much nicer than the old mellow mushroom but still has a giant chandelier made of working lava lamps, I dont see how that makes up a sports bar vibe. The 20+ beers on tap are fantastic, and the pizza is the best you can get in boone. Dont miss making a trip here. read more

Okay, this is the chain that claims the hippie, flower power, 60's vibe , psychedelia cliche thang...the BR store is more intimate than most, with it's garden of blooms and boosts great patio dining (see also Town Tavern). The cuisine is predictable, good , and upscale. Wings were remarkable for a pizza centric venue. The salads are bountiful and add the Applewood smoked bacon ... The pizza is , well , ..predictable,... kinda real good but not iconic to the hometown. Decent micro NC brew draft choice at the smallish rail, and engaged bartender. Took over an hour for our simple pepperoni pizza to arrive on a slow Wednesday afternoon. Our waitress didn't check on us at all and didn't apologize for the delay in getting our food. We went here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon and the service was awesome. We were seated immediately and our server was incredibly friendly and attentive. We ordered the holy shiitake specialty pizza and it was on the table 10 minutes after ordering. and it was amazing!! The sauce on top is really what made it...great vegetarian pizza! It did start getting soggy after a few minutes due to large amount of mushrooms. It looked like a wheat crust, but not 100% sure. I isually dont like whole wheat but the cruat qas really good. Despite being a weekly regular at the Boone Mellow Mushroom, this is my first review and I give it a stellar 5. The pizza is the best in the area. The beer selection is astounding and everyone should try a Sweet Josie dark ale. The atmosphere is pleasantly casual, and the large stone fireplace is a piece of masonry art. See if you can find the pieces of petrified wood among the stones. The staff is involved, pleasant, and personable. read more

I want to start out by saying, I love the pizza from Mellow Mushroom! They use a spring water dough that is awesome. However, the only complaint I have is their prices. On average a large pizza is $23.99-26.99. Don't get me wrong the pizza is GREAT, but I think nearly 30 bucks after tax, for ONE pizza is crazy! That being said if you don't mind to spend a little extra, the pizza wont disappoint! They also have a great atmosphere and a bar with a pretty good selection of beer! It gets a little too crowded on the weekends for my tastes, but theres always the rest of the week right. It can be a little expensive as well but not as bad as others in the area.
