First of all I want to say I love pizza!! but of course most people do. My girlfriend and I love to come here even though it is a 30-40 minute ride for us. She is a pizza snob from Chicago, and do not get me wrong those northerners know a thing or two about good pizza. The first time I went to a Mellow Mushroom was in Austin, tx- it was across the street from the UT campus off of Guadalupe. The pizza here is great, the crust is not to soft not to hard just right, it is sprinkled with parmisian cheese. they have a specialty pizza for all taste. From the veg head to the meat lover. I found out they had on in fort worth and I was there. I took my girl friend there and she loved it!! you have to understand for her to say that , a die hard Chicago girl, it was crazy. and I was happy! I also hear they are going to be building one in Arlington!! can not wait! Have to say this is my go to pizza joint. It is fun and laid back, and I enjoy drinking a pitcher of beer here often. (Pitcher is the only size beer should come in.) i remember every time I have been here and never had a bad experience. I often start my meals here with their fresh made bruschetta. It's drizzled in this fabulous balsamic dressing and sprinkled with fresh feta cheese. This is like eating candied slices of heaven. You will find yourself licking up the dressing on the plate. Now picking a pizza is the fun part at this Restraunt. There are so many to choose from and something for every palette. My personal favorite is the Maui Wowie. It is cover in a pesto based sauce the topped with jerk chicken, porcini peppers, and of course lots of cheese. This pizza has sweet, heat, and spice down to a science. It is epic! On to the only down side I have with this the mushroom. Beer comes in a pitcher like it should. But recently they have gotten rid of the domestic option from the tap. Mellow Mushroom just gets pizza right! I've come here a couple of times, and every time Mellow Mushroom has met my expectations. The Funky Q. Chicken is by far my favorite, followed by the Kosmic Karma. The pizza is bake to perfection and is not overly greasy. The pizzas do take about 35 minutes to be ready, and it's something they mention when they take your order. Waiting the 35 minutes is definitely worth it for the quality of pizza they bring out. Mellow Mushroom figured out that plant-based people count and they have a lot of options for us, unlike so many restaurants that don't offer much of anything. So many vegetables, vegan crust, vegan cheese and salads. The vegan pizza is as good as the regular pizza, piled high with toppings and perfectly cooked with hot, crispy and chewy crust. The bbq tofu was also surprisingly good with a nice texture and tangy bbq sauce. I could only eat half the generously portioned 10 inch pizza so I have a other meal for tomorrow. The other diners with me ordered regular pizzas and raved about them. The only negative was my husband, who ordered a cheese pizza with more cheese and more cheese and then complained that it had too much cheese. He still ate it. I'll definitely return for more of their vegan pizza and let all my plant based friends know about this. And our server, Angie, was outstanding. She kept all the drinks full, was friendly and made our experience pleasant. The crowd in the restaurant, however, was so loud at times it sounded like a woman was screaming. I went to the Mellow Mushroom a handful of times when I was working over in Ft Worth and I liked it. The pizza is good the sandwiches are also tasty, but overall it's nothing special... hence the three-star rating. The atmosphere is colorfully busy and yet comfortable. The staff is friendly and there is always good music playing. The whole place has a very active feel to it, contradictory to its name, though not unpleasant. Today we had a party of 7 and was turned away, due to "to many large groups" ( we get the whole COVID thing). The young lady with the blonde and black hair was rude to my wife when she said "they would not serve us". Her tone was different to me, but it is sad that we had hoped to celebrate my wife, our children's mom, on this Mother's Day weekend. So I have been wanting to try mellow mushroom because I have friends all over the country who tell me it's good. Since I was in town looking for a place to live (soon to be Frog here), I decided to come to this location. A little note I am a fiend for pizza, but I'm lactose intolerant, so eating pizza is either an ate home thing or I find places that have a non dairy version. Thankfully, mellow mushroom has that option, BUT it is not a good option. I am totally willing to try again with regular cheese, but I am going to not recommend or eat the vegan cheese ever again. Absolutely love their food! I have yet to dine in the restaurant but order through uber eats religiously. I'm not a big salad person but I tried their enlightened spinach salad and I'm addicted to it! I've ordered their hummus, spinach dip and bruschetta as well and have never been disappointed. Their pizza is delicious - fresh ingredients you can taste, always prepared to order and looks great and of course the great tasting dough. Once you have their pizza any other pizza doesn't come close to comparing. I LOVE mellow mushroom... usually. However, this location is disappointing. It's not so much the food, as the pizza is usually delicious. It's more the lack of care and responsibility from the staff. It's no surprise that MM is rather pricey in regards to pizza, and that's what makes it that much worse. This location can not seem to get an order right for me. It may be bad luck, but I doubt it. Most recently, I made an online order, custom modifying two pizza's. After picking them up and getting them home, I realized that I had just paid $50 for two pizzas, both of which were missing toppings that I had ordered. I'm not a cheap skate, but at $1.25 a topping, yeah, I have an issue. I called the location to let them know, their response was that they were out of the toppings and they couldn't modify custom orders after they've been purchased. I would've expected them to AT LEAST refund me for the toppings that I did not receive, but that was not the case. They offered to do absolutely nothing and basically told a paying customer that they'd do nothing to make the situation right. There are too many good pizza places to get that type of service. read more

Not your typical pizza place, as they have some really good gourmet-style toppings. Great pizza overall, quite a few other options for meals, and a great selection of beers on tap. It's right down the street from the TCU campus and has a nice patio for those days when dining outside is your style, and water-misters for those days when it's a bit warm. This is the second time we have been here to eat pizza and this time was better then the first. They have a very laid back atmosphere with someone playing guitar on the patio.There is a large bar area with large screen TVs to watch whatever sports might be on. Mellow Mushroom is our favorite pizza spot in Fort Worth! The delicious and reasonably priced pizzas at Mellow Mushroom are a great option for lunch outings with friends. The pizza crust is crispy on the outside and soft and flaky inside. I recommend trying the House Special pizza because it has a little bit of everything on it, but the menu includes several unique pizza options that you won't find at the typical pizza delivery places. The pretzel appetizer is made fresh with the same dough as the pizza and it tastes great, but be advised that it's more like a twisted breadstick than a typical pretzel. Be sure to add the "turbo" cheese dip if you order these. The only downsides are the lack of parking nearby and the wait time for the pizza be made. Be prepared to wait 30 to 40 minutes for your pizza to arrive at the table. read more

Having pizza made for me is something that I really missed when I became a vegan, so I was incredibly happy when I found out about Mellow Mushroom! I went with my dad (who is not a vegan) and we split a greek salad and 10-in pizza. The staff was very accommodating and gave us the cheese and dressing on the side of the salad for my dad and helped clarify what on the menu was vegan. While they had vegan options (Daiya cheese, vegan crust, etc...) I was not overly impressed with what was offered and that some items I had assumed would be vegan turned out not to be (the pesto, for example). Nonetheless, the pizza turned out delicious! I took part of it home but because of the Daiya cheese it tasted strange after it had been in the refrigerator overnight. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Mellow Mushroom and I can't wait to go back. The service was great, they were vegan friendly, and the pizza was scrumptious! If you are looking for a chill place to sit down and have a slice with some friends then I would definitely suggest Mellow Mushroom. read more

After holding for 14 minutes to place an order, which was never answered, we arrived at Mellow Mushroom to place our order in person. My daughter asked for the manager who laughed it off. She made excuses but said she would "expedite our order" and take 50% off. We then waited in the restaurant for another 35 minutes. We finally took our seemingly hot delicious calzones home only to find the dough was raw! Mine was about 50% edible, my daughter's was about 30% edible, but my son-in-law's was inedible! This was such a great disappointment. If the drive had been shorter or if the manager hadn't laughed off a 14 minute hold time perhaps we would've gone back and complained. Personally I didn't see the benefit. Mellow Mushroom may be good for college kids who want a pizza while they're socializing and having beer but it is not the place to pick up a calzone to take home and enjoy! read more

I wish I could give it Q stars . Went in last night it was horrible. It's a place that I've been going for years since the Mansfield location closed, my sons like it . We were seated fast , however other the service was horrible. We ordered our go to favorite jerk wings , it appeared the wings where old & the sauce was thin. After ordering my son a burger with tots , 15 minutes later the waiter told us , we don't have tots. The first burger was cold , I truly feel it went to the booth close to us Earlier it sat their then was returned to the kitchen. I witnessed the chef & waiter talking and pointing. Then a cold burger magically appeared My son touch it , it was cold . We asked for another, it came out slow & wrong. 20 minutes later a burger comes out , remember my earlier suspicion (COVID ). Lastly the service our waiter also had a trainee , she was the only wait staff WITHOUT a mask . & having direct contact with food & drinks . Our primary waiter was preoccupied & only gave us one refill, in to go cups as we left. I did not want ruin the night in front of my sons . So we paid a $76 for a horrible experience. I called the manager on the way home . He told me that he was aware of the situation, but he never bothered to come to our table to apologize or give ANY attention y to the matter or tried to make some type of effort to fix it over the phone You all lost a loyal customer . read more

First off, the atmosphere is like a hippie psychedelic place which is not my thing at all. While I didn't love the atmosphere, I can't penalize the restaurant for it in this review because I know a lot of people would love it. I could see how it could be cool to a lot of people, it just wasn't my thing, so I still am giving it 4 stars. Aside from personal preference of décor, the food was good. We all ordered pizzas and the pizza was actually quite good. Service was decent. The waiter wasn't very personable, but wasn't a bad waiter. He was pretty on top of things and available if we needed anything. Even though I didn't particularly enjoy the atmosphere, I would go back again for the food. More than anything, I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. I personally prefer Neapolitan style pizzas, baked in a wood fired or coal oven, but this place still made some pretty delicious pizzas. We got an order of cheesy garlic bread and a 10" Philosophers Pizza. I wasn't impressed with the cheesy garlic bread because it just wasn't that garlicky. When we saw the line in the description "Mints not included" we thought it was gonna be a garlic explosion, but it turned out more cheesy than garlicky. I think I should have gone with the caprese salad or the garlic Parmesan pretzels. But it was really all about the pizza. The Philosophers came with portobello mushrooms, olives, steak, lots of garlic, and lots of cheese. The 10" was just perfect for the two of us and it was nothing but deliciousness. I love to go to Mellow Mushroom for their salads. Seriously, good hearty salads with some badass dressings. I always do the 'build a salad' option and there alot of protein choices and vegetable toppings to choose from. Tell me though why every single time I go there, it takes more than 30 minutes to make the salad. A SALAD. Today, feeling a bit hungover, I decided to do the delivery option. The last time I got delivery from them, they delivered the portobello mushrooms raw and with half the normal portion sizes. Clearly I was undeterred by this memory because I decided to order again. Laziness I suppose. A hour into waiting, I'm wondering, "am I really waiting a hour for a salad"? I call the folks at Mellow Mushroom. "Hi I ordered 2 salads a hour ago and was wondering where they were." "Yea, he's out with them right now. Ok?" "Ummm ok". and the conversation ended. Customer service is not their high point. A hour and 15 minutes later, my salad arrives. No joke. My sweetened iced teas? Of course non-sweetened (time to pull out the Imperial Sugar folks). The steak and bacon on my salad? Reduced to lukewarmness. Then apparently the deliverer didn't have the sales receipt on him and had to call back to the base to check that I did indeed pay. Another awkward 10 minutes. Oh yea, my boyfriend's 'fresh mozarella cheese' could have at least been shredded, but instead there are 4 huge lumps of cheese dropped into his salad. Of course we'll just crumble them ourselves, but the whole experience just leaves another bad memory of Mellow Mushroom's service. By the way, their pizzas are okay. read more
