In for a psychedelic time? Come to Mellow Mushroom for some good eats and drinks. We had a large group for dinner and service was on par. Nice friendly staff and our waiter handled our large group fairly well. Nice appetizers as the pretzel bites are a must try. The spinach artichoke dip was very basic and not worth a try. They offer amazing pizza combinations and flavors. Ingredients are fresh and everything served hot out of the oven. The perfect crisps in the dough, perfect ratio with sauce and cheese and toppings. Pizza was flavorful and the perfect size. Love the decor with their psychedelic vibe.

It was my first time trying Mellow Mushroom. It was my daughter, her friend, my grandson and myself. We started with the spinach dip. It wasnt very hot when it came out so it wasn't as gooey as I'd hoped, but it had good flavor. I also got a side salad. It was good but it had a tomato end in it. I wasn't sure what to try for the main course. I ended up looking at the photos on Yelp to get a better visual. I'm glad I did. We went with the pizza and it was so good. We did a Medium and had plenty. I'll definitely be back. There's a bar area, outdoor seating and indoor of course. Service was good. No complaints there.

Haven't been to this location in awhile, but the 1/2 philly cheesesteak was very good, loaded with onions, peppers and mushrooms. Only issue was female bartender calling me "sir" about 7 times in 40 minutes. Totally unnecessary, but she was attractive.

Overall, not a bad experience. I really liked that they had an outdoor patio area for the nice weather. The location is very convenient. It's right off of 17 and happy Valley. The pizza was fine. It wasn't the best pizza I've ever had, but it also wasn't the worst. It might be a little spending over the quality of pizza. Service was fine. Wasn't amazing, wasn't bad. If you're looking for a place to hang out with your friends on a Friday night and get a pizza together, this place is a viable option but if you were looking for a high-quality dining experience there's probably better options out there.

Don't get me wrong. I love mellow mushroom, but it is a hit or miss with their food. The service is always good though. The ambience is casual pizza joint. I was still going back here to order different items.

We met some friends out for wings and pizza at Mellow Mushroom. We had never been here before and have heard good things so we gave it a shot. The wings seemed to be oven baked and not crispy (not sure how they're made). We ordered a house special pizza and a super pepp pizzas. They looked amazing and were good but not great. The flavor was good but the pizza dough was a little undercooked. The restaurant was big with lots of seating and a large bar area. It was rather noisy as it was pretty busy. Maybe we caught it on an off night but I'm not sure we will be back

We decided to try this place after work. Upon entering, I was greeted and immediately seated. The place was empty with only a few other people eating in various parts of the restaurant. Our server was attentive and quick. We ordered our food and it came out pretty quickly. The pizza itself is okay. The meatballs don't taste homemade but they do taste good. Like a big version of the meatballs from Spaghettios. I liked the design of the menu and the interior of the restaurant. For the price and taste, I'm glad I tried it but probably would recommend a different place.

I have been coming here for years and absolutely love the food however I assume the new management is to blame for the way things are going now. I love the pretzels with the beer batter cheese, the tiny cups are 4.50 but worth it, WHEN THEY ACTUALLY FILL IT UP. When I brought my concerns to the manager he said "yeah thats why I had them give you another cup". I responded with thanks but that one cup isn't enough to fill the half cups I paid for and he just stared at me then walked away. Total shame. I guess we will take our business to another mellow mushroom from now on.

Pizza delicious like always! Amazing costumer service from the second you walk in. Had a little mishap with our Pizza and our server immediately offered to remake them. Set my meatless club and just a nasty cold.Pressed steak sandwich. Flavor tried to be there, though, to be fair.

Went yesterday, Saturday, afternoon to have a bite before a movie. Used to frequent the place when our office was up here so I haven't been in for a while. I told my friend, let's go. Food was always great. Unfortunately this was not the case. I ordered the cheese steak. It came cold with way too much, what i'm guessing was the cheese, but it was more like mayonnaise. I have a cast iron stomach so I just wiped off some of the mayonnaise like substance and ate. At first I didn't really think too much of it but once the brown slimy old ass lettuce started showing up, I thought, hmm, I don't remember ordering that. It was disgusting. I took pictures of the old lettuce, but didn't get to the brown stuff until after I got home because I only ate half at the restaurant. Sorry. I should have done you the favor and taken more pictures. My friend ordered the avocado club. It was supposed to be a wheat infused bread of some kind. But it was a chibatta (sp) and it had hardly any meat in it very little avocado, and she said it was just incredibly bland she too took her second half, home said she would save it for the dogs. Very, very unfortunate. We would have sent everything back had we not been rushing to get to a movie. Sorry Mellow Mushroom you missed the mark on this pass. Our waiter, although very nice, didn't come back to check on anything. No water refill, nothing but he was pleasant enough so he got the star. Ambiance, we got scolded somewhat for coming in the the back door and trying to sit down without checking in with a hostess. Even though there were only maybe three other sets of patrons. All in all a VERY disappointing visit.

Service - it didn't start off on a positive note. We waited to be seated and there were servers that saw us and didn't say a thing. My husband had to go ask and then it was a different story. Rachel was personable and attentive that was a plus Food - the pepperoni pizza was great. A little greasy but that is a given. The crust was so good. Like the Parmesan taste My husbands hoagie roll was burnt on one side other than that it was flavorful Ambiance - it was a relaxing place. The only thing that took me back was the employee vaping as he bussed the tables outside. Didn't realize that was an accepted practice while on duty. It just didn't give the establishment a positive perception. What you do on break is your time but not in front of the customers to watch.

Highs and lows here: It was super busy on a Monday night - but the bar had seating. The bar staff was very fast, friendly and attentive. I went with the mushroom pizza and I loved the crust and the toppings but hated the mayo type drizzle. The man got the meat calzone with the red sauce side and it was really good. I normally do not like red sauce but I asked for a side and added it to my pizza after scraping off the sauce. I also got a side of ranch - the ranch was not great, tasted like a kraft or hidden valley. They have many drinks on tap and a lot of bottles. The place had a lot of tvs with sports going and was decorated with some pretty cool halloween stuff. Check in with Yelp on arrival for pretzel bites.

Came in here for date night, waited 40 minutes for a small pizza and a calzone. Each was $20. They have $4 local drafts but only 3 options. We had the pizza with honey and pepperoni, the pizza had more honey than a short stack at ihop. The calzone was 50% dough and the meatballs were dry. Only good thing about this place is the service, besides the wait time I give them a 10/10 in that aspect. read more

Mellow Mushroom is a chain from our home state, so we have had a multi year loving relationship with this chain. For the most part, this location hits the mark. I recommend going during happy hour to take advantage of the discounted appetizers and drinks. We enjoy our Parmesan pretzels each time. For the most part, the staff is attentive, friendly, and laid back. We've had a few experiences where we felt a bit lost the in the crowd, but all in all they take good care of you. Enjoy a holy shiitake pie, you'll never regret it! read more

Meeting friends for lunch and we were one of the very first people in the restaurant for the day. Greeter said go seat yourself -- we looked around and every single table was covered with crumbs and debris and gunk. Super gross. We asked the greeter to come over and wipe down because we saw him with a rag. He didn't apologize for the dirt. There was still gunk on the table so we went to get napkins and wipe down some more. So that's a one star right there for me. I wish we could have turned around and walked out -- but we were meeting friends . As for the food, ridiculously overpriced and very bland. Pretzel bites were dry and overbaked. Staff are dressed very sloppy. Maybe that's the vibe they're going for, like mellow hippie kind of? OK fine, but everyone in the place looked like a slob. Ordered on a Friday at 6pm for a 7pm pickup. Got the store a few min after 7 and was told it was still being made. Time started to tick by with no word. It was clear others were waiting over too. Someone came to ask everyone their names and never came back again. 30min PAST the pickup time and still nothing. Anytime you'd ask the hosts for an update they said they'd check, but then never have anything. Nobody could explain where it even was in the process. Nobody even apologized or even asked if I wanted a drink. Finally got my pizza. 45min PAST the quoted pickup time. I was not at all alone in that wait. First time for me, and likely my last. read more

Stopped in to grab a bite to eat. The service was great and the atmosphere was chill. The inside was very clean but did have fruit flies that were bothersome. We ordered the steak sandwich, club sandwich and meatball sandwich. All of the sandwiches lacked a tremendous amount of flavor. The steak sandwich needed a massive amount of salt and pepper. I ended up asking for mayo to add some kind of moisture to the sandwich. The club sandwich was soggy and the meatball sandwich bread to meat ratio was off. When we go to Mellow, we typically only get pizza but wanted to try something different. Boy will we stick to pizza. We'd definitely go back because their pizza is on point but their sandwiches are just not it. read more

Another busy popular place with an interesting menu. We love mushroom pizzas so we had to try their shiitake pie. Wow! It was savory & almost too rich with their signature garlic aioli. We are light eaters so their house salad & small pizza was plenty. Especially with the richness of the pizza - not complaining, just be aware this particular pizza topped with truffle oil will satisfy after two slices. They have a great selection of draft beers, ciders, seltzers, & wine to wash down their many offerings. I picked my usual hazy IPA. Service is friendly & responsive. The Mellow Mushroom has a 60s style but their food is 21st century good. read more

The service was horrible from waiter don't remember if his name was Keith or the manager. We waited over 45 minutes for our pizza - and when we asked nicely about - the waiter that he didn't know. We asked well can he go find out. The manager came over apologized because they accidentally put it as a to go order and gave us the pizza free. However the waiter never apologized, never asked if I wanted another drink, water, we had to asked for our bill. Totally ridiculous. He was wearing a 1974 shirt so I don't know if he was mad about that or if his team lost but all I know is that I was just a normal customer who wanted pizza in a restaurant with a drink and not from a box. All I got was a bad attitude. Never again Mellow Mushroom. Only gave the two stars for the manager apologizing and bringing us warmed up pizza for free. The pizza was just okay not horrible and salad came out first. Thankful for the guy that brought out the salads and he was NOT our waiter. read more

I've been a long-time fan of the Mellow Mushroom pizza because it is good - however, the service every time I go is terrible and I will not be going again. For example, I arrived at 5:40pm today (12/11/2024) and placed an initial drink order. That drink didn't come out until 6:38pm. At that time, the others in my party had already eaten half their food whereas I hadn't even the opportunity to order food. Not wanting to get food when my friends had already finished, i held off on ordering anything else and just took the bill with the others. Even though I had placed my drink order during the happy hour window, I was charged non-happy hour prices and service was unavailable to inquire further. Needless to say, my presence and my business feels unvalued and unwanted. I will not go again; there are plenty of other pizza places who are just as good (if not better). Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Kind regards. . read more

Haven't been here in awhile so me and family decided to come have some food. And honestly.. what the heck happened to this place. The building looks in disseray. Walked to my table and could see a massive puddle of just standing water by where the servers grab drinks. I saw a manager down there from what I could tell trying to figure out what the issue was. But shouldn't that be checked when you open the store? Anyways. Pizza was alright. A bit undercooked and barley any pepperoni on the pizza. For the price definitely not worth the hype. I probably won't be back. Which is a shame. read more

Delicious House Special hand tossed pizza made with quality ingredients. We skipped the green peppers on this one. MM is super busy. We got our pizza to go. It was a Friday night. Our order took almost an hour. We allowed for the extra time. House Special The Ultimate Mellow: red sauce, mozzarella, topped with pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, honey ham, applewood-smoked bacon, black olives, sliced mushrooms, Roma tomatoes, green peppers, sweet onions and the finishing touch... more mozzarella. Our server Jenna was so kind and sweet! It was insanely packed and she was so helpful and explained thoroughly the wait time for each item. She also looked for us when we left because I lost my ring and she found it and returned it! We also ordered a few vegan items and they were perfect, no errors! That's so rare. We always love pizza. This restaurant opened a few years ago. It's a very inviting and open space for dining with anyone. Our grandkids like it too. Service has always been attentive and my favorite is the Yukon Gold pizza. I know it doesn't sound good, but it is delicious. It isn't on their regular menu. You have to ask for. Check them out. Happy Valley is the only location we have visited in AZ. When we go back home, we've visited the establishment in Rocky River. read more

A family favorite but this recent visit left a lot to be desired. All of our food was delicious and well prepared. Hubby's pizza was cooked perfectly, same with my burger. The mac and cheese for the kiddies was great as well; they finished it all which is rare for them to completely finish anything. Our server was very friendly but was absent for 90+% of the visit. She only came by to drop off drinks, take our order, and take our payment when we were done. I was left without utensils for the whole visit and ended up using the long toothpick that came with my burger to hold it in place as a makeshift fork for the roasted potatoes side. No one ever came by to check in on us after the food was dropped off. It was not that busy either when we visited for our Sunday afternoon lunch so I'm unsure why we were not checked in on even once. We do not live near this place so visits are going be a rare occurrence. Even with the lackluster service, we will come back as we really do enjoy their food. If a new location ever opens up near where we live in the Arrowhead area, we will definitely visit there instead. read more

So we stopped in here after a long day at Slide Rock Park! We haven't been since before we had moved away to Cali for a bit. We now live down in Litchfield Park but I don't think there is a location near us. Anyway- we were excited for the laid back vibe- music and we have had a lot of memories at this location in particular in past years lol! Used to love the craft beers! I no longer drink- however my husband still does. :) I'm so sad they got rid of the muffuletta bread appetizer!!!!! It was my favorite and I ordered every single time we went! This was pre-covid. ( I know tons of restaurants had to revamp menus during that time- unfortunately- for me) We did try the pretzels- those were really good and it was a giant portion! I wasn't expecting 6 full pretzels- I was expecting pretzel bits with cheese and mustard to dip. But no- 6 full size homemade using their pizza dough- yum! ( our waiter was cool and hooked us up with a little extra cheese since they didn't have my original appetizer request-) Thank you for that. Then we ordered 3 pizzas- one of them is their OG Potato pizza! Yum!! My husband is in love with this pizza and it is pretty damn good. We were happy they didn't discontinue that one! Ordered a basic cheese and the bbq chicken pizza- we left with plenty of leftovers and everyone was happy after starving from playing at Slide Rock and the Drive back to the city from Sedona. Overall I'd recommend this spot still. They also had some non alcoholic beers- more options than most places I've been to- that was refreshing. My husband enjoyed some of the heavier beers. Cool vibe and nice waiters and some with funny mustaches my boys said. :) read more

Mellow Mushroom never fails us and today as a family once again we left full and happy. Today we tried the Buffalo chicken pizza and oh man, it was freaking delicious! Crust was perfect and sauce evenly spread out. Lots of chicken. We ordered a medium. It was so filling even with two of us sharing we took a few slices home. The pretzel bites are always a hit, especially with my kids. So good! Service was great as well. read more

Taylor was our server and was very attentive. He somehow knew we had a Groupon before I even went to pay. The Marley pizza was fantastic; it's special but I hope it stays on the menu. Tripp made our pizza, and the guys behind the line rarely get a shout-out, but kudos to Tripp for tossing the pizza; the crust was excellent. read more

They use a vegan cheese that has great flavor. And they have a large selection of toppings . I enjoyed eating here and my kids loved it. They also have SUPER tasty Mock-tails! Joe is a rock star! Despite a hopping patio at lunch, he took care of all his tables with ease. I've been to the Mellow Mushroom in Tempe and the Happy Valley location is just as stellar. I love how they nail down all the small details, even nicely designed menus. They could probably add a few more lunch specials to the menu but there are so many choices anyway, that it doesn't matter a whole lot. Magic Mushroom Soup Bowl: The place is called Mellow Mushroom after all! This is a hearty bowl of soup and as we transition to cooler weather, this soup is just perfect (ask for chili flakes to make it even better!). Truly satisfying. Pepperoni Cheese Bread: A very nice alternative to the pizza (although more caloric than most of the smaller pizzas! Oops.). The garlic bread isn't greasy and the flavor is great. She said they'd remake it. I replied no thank you. (I'd already sat once while my party ate, for the gf pizza to be remade... I wasn't doing that again. With an attitude she told me she'd remove it from the bill! One bite was cut out and STILL on the fork, it should but have been an issue. I went with a gin cocktail that had coconut flavors something I would never consider with gin but if you read my reviews you know gin is my preferred spirit. It was so good! For two people we ordered three types of empanadas we probably could have gotten away with two flavors and maybe a lighter tapa or desert but really wanted to try the cheese and guava empanada and didn't want that to be a main option in case we didn't like it. Needless to say we really liked all three: picadillo, arroz con pollo and guava and cheese - the picadillo was the favorite however both for the inside flavor and the accompanying dip. Pricing is not bad I'd say the serving and size of the three empanadas for $14 is a great price.

Since then they have removed the plantain chips and still offer mashed plantains...and a very small serving. I ordered a cuban sandwich which was good but I guess I expected it to look more appealing on a plate such as with garnish. Since it was the middle of June it was already hot outside at a cool 105 degrees temperature. We were surprised to see the restaurant had the front door propped completely open letting the hot air into the restaurant. Since this is a small restaurant you really couldn't escape the heat. The heat unfortunately caused us to leave after a short while.

Wifey and I had brunch reservations and were seated right away. For their menu, they have a nice selection of uniquely crafted items to choose from. I got the Pyro Cheeseburger, she got the Sweet Potato Hash, and we got the Ube Panna Cotta for dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had a great time here. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely consider booking your next table here and you will not regret it!

I am always excited when a new restaurant opens up in my neighborhood. I am a big fan and proponent of shopping local, especially in food establishments. I won't lie, when I first researched the Mellow Mushroom and found out that they were a franchise, I was a tad sad. Then I learned that each of the 110 restaurants are completely different from one another - no cookie cutter layouts here! I had the pleasure to sit down with owners Jay and Diana, and was impressed with how they give back to our community. One of the first things you notice about each Mellow Mushroom location is the unique art on the walls. At the Happy Valley location I recognized shots of the local Phoenix scene and great art from local Phoenicians. As part of being in the Mellow Mushroom family, each location gives back a substantial amount of money to local artists to outfit each location with visual wonderfulness. I enjoy good wine, but when you go to the Mellow Mushroom, it is the beers that have top reign here. With more than 36 beers on tap, (Tempe has 48) it is very easy to pair the perfect beer to your pie. When you become a regular here and don't see your favorite libation on tap - just ask. If you are there often enough, they are more than happy to bring it in for you. I was stunned. Seriously? I could just name my poison and you will bring it in? Now that is what I call service! There is even a Beer Club that you can join if you want to taste all of their beers. My love for root beer started when I was very young and I would ask for one each time we went out for pizza (long before there was delivery). The Sonoran Root Beer is crafted locally and made from Sonoran Desert honey, plus it is mighty delicious. Next time I go in I have to try it with a scoop of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Yum!! I admit, I have eaten at the Mushroom quite a few times, and often enjoy their Happy Hour from 3-6pm and I have been known to come back for their Reverse Happy Hour from 10pm-2am. Seriously - can't go wrong with half priced appetizers and beers. The crowd is usually those coming in for a beer after work and meeting a buddy to relax a bit before going home. One of my favorite appetizers is definitely the Spinach & Artichoke Dip - tons of cheesy goodness with the right mix of spinach and artichoke hearts. Often times, I split the Capri salad with its delicious mix of fresh mozzarella, vine-ripened tomatoes, basil, and the most orgasmic balsamic reduction that I have ever tasted. OMG - can I have a bottle of that reduction please!?! Meatballs. Seriously. I just need to say it again - Meatballs. These are freaking awesome! The sauce is sweet, just the way I like it, fresh basil, shaved Parmesan, and inside each meatball is a soft cheesy center = Heaven. Please make more because I am not sharing! I am not usually a fan of pretzels, but boy was I pleasantly surprised when I tasted theirs! You could taste the freshness and the softness when they came right out of the oven. The pretzel dough tasted like it had been mixed with honey - actually it's made with molasses and Georgia Spring Water. I was hooked! For all of the Vegan lovers out there, the dough is Vegan, but make sure to ask for it sans the Parmesan cheese. The same dough that made those awesome pretzels also creates the crust for their signatures pizzas. That is the only thing required from each franchise is that the dough is made in their flagship location in Atlanta, Georgia. On one of my adventures to the Mellow Mushroom, I had the help of eating my way through a few of the pizzas with @skinnyjeans aka @noshtopia. Read her review as she talks about all the great gluten-free and vegan items that are on their menu. The owners' son came up with a pizza that is unique to Arizona, but with the name of the establishment, I was quite surprised that not all of the franchises have it on their menus - the Fun Guy Pizza. This is by far my favorite pizza and it has five different types of mushrooms loaded on it: Shiitake, Crimini, Button, Portobello, and Oyster Mushrooms with lots of Mozzarella cheese and the sauce is a house-made Grilled Mushroom Vinaigrette. I'm in love. I seriously didn't want to share. I have tried all of these pizza too: * Kosmic Karma: This pizza has a love of olive oil and pesto chicken, with tons of sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, Feta, and fresh tomatoes. Mellow Mushroom is all about Happy Hour. Since Mellow is located between my place of employment and my house, I frequent Mellow Mushroom for happy hour at least a few times a week. The bar layout is great! It's a horseshoe bar with 15 or so bar stools, which are always filled, and some scattered tables and booths in the bar area. There is also a patio out the back door which is attached to the bar. The bartenders are rad, but sometimes get over worked with orders. Mellow Mushroom is packed every day, however I usually never have an empty glass. The bar is loaded with 6 to 8 flat screen televisions which always have sports playing. They have every DirecTV package so if hockey is your thing, this is your bar! The beer selection is awesome. They have a vast selection of draught (28 or so on tap, even a draught root beer for the kids), bottles (about 15 different "flavors"), and a couple different variates of canned beer (MGD, Coors Light, PBR and a couple of craft cans like Trout and Dale's). Draught beer comes in 16 and 20 ounce sizes for "normal" beer and 9 ounce snifters for the high gravity beers such as Rouge Old Crusty. Pricing is a bit of a concern at Mellow Mushroom. The 16 ouncers run 6 bucks a pop and the 20 ouncers are 7 bucks. Hi-grav beers are a little more at $9. Bottles range from the 4 and 5 dollar range for normal bottles up to $25 bombers from the Rogue brewery. Cans are a little cheaper at $2.50 to $5.00 a can. The combat to the pricing is Happy Hour. On weekdays, Monday through Friday (for those who aren't completely aware of what weekdays are) from 3-6 PM and from 10 PM to close, Mellow Mushroom has half off all alcohol! This makes it very reasonable, especially $1.25 PBR and $2.00 Tecante cans! If rewards are your thing, Mellow Mushroom is for you. They have a Beer Club! Drink 75 different beers, get a plaque on the wall (ala Old Chicago) and get your own mug. At that point you get the big beers at the pint price. Along the way you are also rewarded with beer koozies (25 different beers) and free appetizers (50 different beers). Appetizers are the only food items I've had there, as they are half off during the first happy hour. The homemade pretzels are by far the best. They come in Garlic & Parmesan, Salt, and Cinnamon & Honey. The pretzels are made from the same dough as their pizza crust, which is a wheat bread with a bit of sweetness to it. The artichoke dip and hummus is also out of this world. I'd steer clear of the tomato bisque, it's basically a bowl of marinara sauce. As for other food, I haven't tried it, but they do deliver within a 3 mile radius of the store. This is THE BAR in the northwest valley. Mellow Mushroom... I love you!! This place never fails to keep amazing me. If I were to die and come back in the next life.. I would want to come back as a bad ass restaurant like Mellow Mushroom! Cool now that I have your attention.. The best pizza and beer for miles!! They have a retarded (ridiculously good) selection of craft beers! They are extremely diverse, meaning they have a great selection on tap, canned, and bottled! I was blown away by the amount of local selections they have available. I tried the Moose Drool, Whittaker, and Decadent! All choices were awesome! The Decadent was extremely high in alcohol content, so I was only allowed to have it in a rocks glass (small glass) at a time. If you truly want to get hammered quick, down a couple of those bad boys. HAHA! I downed a few of them not knowing exactly what I was getting myself into..."Hey Marlaina! (bartender) It was me, who threw up in the urinal that one time... I apologize for the mess, and pointing at the other hammered guy across the bar blaming him... I will find a way to make it up to you!!" Well any who yeah... Great beers!! Now on to the food! The reverse happy hour here is retardedly awesome as well. They have these pretzels that allows you to choose three different flavors of any combination! I usually go for the Garlic Parmesan! They are bomb! The Pizza here is freaking incredible! Something about that crust that keeps my attention going back to the pizza! Maybe they put some kind of addictive supplement in there or something but, it's like a slice of heaven! Every time I eat the pizza here it brings me to my happy place. I love being in my happy place FYI.. I really don't have anything bad to say about Mellow Mushroom... Wait there might be one thing.... Nope never mind I can't think of anything. In my opinion.. If you rate this place less than 4 stars you need to reevaluate your life, and have a come to Jesus meeting with your inner demons that blind you from the true treasures of this short and fragile time that you have in this world. This place is a blast! It's always lively and loud, so come ready to yell over the drone of the next table if you plan on carrying on a conversation. The beer selection is great, with lots of unique brews you don't see at other places, with the obvious exception of the Yard House. The pizza is outstanding!! Again with a lot of very unique toppings and combinations, including the new "house pizza" topped with 5 different types of mushrooms! How mellow is that?! It's usually quite busy at dinner time, especially on Fridays and the weekends but it's worth the wait! Lunch is great too, with some very reasonable prices, considering the quality of the food. You definitely want to check this place out at least once, even if it's just to say you've had a pizza with a sunny side egg on top of it - don't knock it, if you haven't tried it! read more

Mellow Mushroom is one of my favorite HH places, but I will stick to the location at High Street. This Happy Valley location served good tasting appetizers and beverages but the service from my waiter was horrible. Saw him 2 times. Once to take our order and then when I had to flag him down to get my bill as I was waiting forever for him to at least come by to see how everything tasted or if I need anything. Real kicker here is he hardly had any tables. Ordered when I was seated and it took 15 minutes or so to get my beer and then a little over 30 minutes to get 2 appetizers! Dining room not busy so kitchen shouldn't of been overwhelmed and not sure why I never saw my waiter. Manager did not table touch - even the online survey asked if the manager did, so you would think they would've if they knew it is a survey question. read more

Me and my boyfriend had a tradition of going to boba tea house and then eating at mellow mushroom. We never had an issues with bringing our drink in while we waited for food and we always ordered an additional drink to wash down the pizzas with. We've done this about 4-5 times since this used to be one of our favorite spots to eat. Today we went in as usual except we were denied for having "outside drinks". I normally would understand but just last month we were served with our drinks and the server even made a comment on how good they looked. The experience just soured our whole mood since it was totally unexpected. They're very thick smoothies so it's not like I could've sucked them down in 5 seconds. We ended up going to humble pie and they let us bring our drinks in. read more

So my wife has celiacs disease and a dairy allergy as well. While there have been vast improvements in GF pizza over the last few years (plenty of GF crust options), the likelihood of finding dairy free cheese to go with it is not good. When she heard that Mellow Mushroom had both she was anxious to try it. She ordered a GF pizza w/dairy free cheese. When she got the order, it accurately says that, but it most certainly wasn't a GF crust. If you've ever seen someone with celiacs consume gluten it isn't pretty & very painful for them. This lack of control is beyond irresponsible, it's dangerous. Oh, but they'll credit the money spent so you can order from them again. If you have special dietary needs STAY AWAY FROM MELLOW MUSHROOM. Bad business! read more

The girls I talked with were super nice- when I placed my order online I ended up changing it. I understood they would probably need to re-charge me or at least charge the difference. I was right- unfortunately I was never refunded the original amount. I called to bring this to their attention and they told me they were too busy to help me- I was very understanding because I work in customer service so I gave them every piece of information they would need and said it would be fine if they called me back in an hour. The manager never called me back and I still haven't received my refund. The thing that sucks is the food was great, but I won't be back or recommend to anyone. read more

Based on what I've tasted so far (as take-out) I can recommend the Hawaiian-style with ham and pineapple, and the veggie kind with tomato, basil and feta (and possibly something else). Crust was unique and pretty good, but I noticed a tendency of some of my fellow diners not to eat the fairly massive amount of crust. I wasn't so sure about the kind with potatoes and bacon. The bacon itself was done just right, but I wasn't so sure about the combination. Seems like they are possibly trying too hard with too many "unusual" flavors added for effect, just to be different. I will repost when I try more varieties and eat at the restaurant itself to see the atmosphere, etc. read more

I visited this place for a late-night snack since other nearby options were closed. I ordered a half pepperoni, half BBQ chicken pizza along with Sriracha hot wings. While I enjoyed the hot wings and managed to finish them, I found the pizza less satisfactory. The toppings tended to slide off, and the dough didn't appear or taste fully cooked, despite our wait for it to be done. I decided not to finish the pizza out of concern for my stomach. I appreciate that it was late, which might have impacted the quality, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I would be open to giving this place another chance during busier hours when they might be more on top of their game. read more

****SINGLE WOMEN BEWARE**** The Norterra location has a sexual offender that frequents the bar every Friday and Saturday. The manager and staff support the man coming to their bar and harassing women and the staff. He is a stocky older (mid 50's) man, Caucasian, with white facial hair, viewed tonight wearing a light blue baseball cap. SEXUAL PREDATORS can be found in many different bars, but this one knows that he is in a welcomed environment and feels at liberty to harass women verbally and physically. ****SINGLE WOMEN BEWARE**** Management refused to discuss the issue. Mellow is my favorite place to go! Half off munchies(appetizers) and almost everything behind the bar for happy hour. There's an amazing selection of mostly craft beers on tap and the bartenders are very knowledgeable and friendly. Even all of the cooks in the open kitchen say hi when we walk in! The service is another perk to boot. Everyone is always friendly and accommodating too, whether it's two or 20 of us. Seeing Amber whenever I'm there is definitely the best part, she really is one of a kind! Keep doing what you guys do! Well its interesting I'll give them that. Their pizza is definitely different. If your looking for the typical pepperoni pizza you should probably go to dominos or pizza hut. the mellow mushroom as it is called has put just about every food known to man on their pizzas. I wasnt sure what to make of it. The pizza was good i'll admit but some of the stuff you'd have to have an acquired taste for. oh but the spinach pizza now that was really good and i would recommend that. if you really want to go all out they have all kinds of toppings for their pies its great for someone who has the munchies i guess. read more

I've been visiting Mellow Mushroom in Norterra for 9 years, and wow, time flies when you're having fun (and pizza)! It's been amazing to see how they've improved over the years. I enjoy Mellow Mushroom. You may say that I am a regular. They have a phenomenal beer list. If you live in the North Valley, you should go. Over 20 craft beers on draught, dozens of greet canned craft brews and the best damn rootbeer around (try it with jager). Unique hand tossed pizza (including Magical Mystery Tour and Baked Potato Pizza). Sandwiches are good, but just chips come with it. So we came in on a Monday night, long story short the two bartenders that were working seemed like only one bartender. The board said Ann Marie and Chris but it should of only said Chris; the dude was running his A off! The girl was gone for maybe 30 min... My bf and I thought that she ended her shift or something... Mellow has always been an easy choice for after work drinks with their reverse happy hour, but unfortunately in the last few months the owners have decided to bring on a new manager Alex Dominguez; there has not been one time we have come in without being harassed by this "man" who has never even served us he will just go to other mangers and guests not unlike a school girl trying to "start crap" in his own words. I've eaten here about 4 times now. The pizza is really good but anything else I've ordered is just ok. The regular prices are too high for what you get. We did go for happy hour and the half price beer & appetizers made me like the food better. The wings were not that great but for half price they were pretty good. LOVE THIS PLACE. Atmosphere is great. They do play loud music so if your looking for a quiet place to talk this is not it. Unless you sit outside however, you would be forgoing good service.. they tend to ignore people seated outside. The pretzel's are to die for and the staff is friendly! My girlfriend and I finally got a chance to stop in after hearing from multiple people how amazing it is. We found it to be a nice atmosphere and decent food.
