Only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because on my order I asked for no mushrooms, and I still ended up finding a couple of tiny mushrooms on my order. Terrible service. Two tables walked out while we were here. They were out of Roma tomatoes, mushrooms, Parmesan, and Sprite. It was a Sunday and they can't turn any football on the 4 TVs because "the manager locked them out". The poor servers have way too many tables. Great food but plan on being here for 2 hours at least. Part of the mistique of Savannah is the beautiful facad's on the Historic buildings. Still can't beat the pizza in Rome. That's a tough act to follow! read more

Have ordered the exact same Mega Veggie pizza here before and it was great, but tonight (3/18/17) it was so burnt and bitter we couldn't even eat it. We waited almost twice as long as we normally would have for a pick up, which is fine and to be expected, it is a Saturday night. But that long and you send us a pizza that is so burnt it's inedible? Excellent service this past weekend. Safety measures were implemented. We had the wonderful Elijah, who was an incredible server. He made sure my group of friends were happy, in fact he went out of his way to accommodate my friends requests. The manager was also very gracious, she went around the tables to make sure patrons were happy with their meals and was very friendly and kind. Will definitely be back. read more

I went to Mellow Mushroom on Sunday February 25th and had a pleasant dining experience. I had the 10" create your own pizza with vegan cheese (no additional charge if you substitute it for mozzarella), pesto tempeh and jalapeños. I enjoyed every last bite! Super disappointed...the biggest telling in how good a pizza place is in how good they can make a classic cheese pizza. No flavor to the cheese, just mozzarella (come on guys can I get some complexity up in there? Maybe some Asiago or fontina??) sauce with no kick (herbs?? Anyone???) even the crust while nice and wood fired was dry and flavorless. Maybe a second trip and one of the specialty pies will change my rating but not particularly impressive especially considering a medium is over 20$ and only 6 slices. read more

Out of town on business and was craving pizza. Found this chain on Yelp. As described, it was a little noisy as it was a Saturday night. It wasn't unbearable though. Was seated in the bar and as I'm short, my legs dangled from the bar stools. My pizza came in a reasonable amount of time. The waitress did forget to put on the ticket the pineapple but she did quickly bring me some in a cup. The Veg-Out with an extra topping of their marinated Tempeh was delicious, especially with the Vegan Cheese. Would go back to try some of their other options! read more

First time actually coming to mellow mushroom. I've always heard a lot of mixed reviews but since we didn't want anything fancy and wanted a super chill date night before he left back home today we decided to give this place a try. First off let me say when we first walked in he nearly passed out. He is a huge Marvel/Transformers fan and was definitely not expecting to Be met with a huge transformer when we walked in. The decor was amazing and made us feel like this is definitely a place where you can come and have an amazing time with friends. I ordered a a vodka and Red Bull and the bartender was nice enough to give me a double shot with out me having to ask or pay for it. We had the bruschetta which he hated because of the balsamic vinegar but I absolutely loved it and this is my review so I don't really care to much if he liked it or not and for the pizza we had "the works" which I think that's the name I'm Not sure all I know what that it was super bomb and as I love to say it was a total foodgasm but maybe I'm just saying that because I'm a light weight and the vodka and Red Bull hit pretty hard lol. Mellow Mushroom and I go back a long way, when they opened a small dive on Spring Street in Atlanta when I was attending Ga Tech. They were close to campus and I was a weekly customer for my time at Tech. They had and still have good pizza! The Mellow Mushroom in Pooler has good pizza too, but service has not always been good; this time it was very good. My wife and I took my son out there for dinner as his time was winding down with us and he was getting ready to head back to school in Atlanta. We headed to MM as he loves the pizza there. Our waiter was prompt in getting to our table and asked us for our drink orders; I was pondering a IPA that was being advertised. He strongly suggested another IPA on draught by Bell's named HopSlam. He said it was one of the best he had and added that it was out of MI and probably the best thing that ever came out of there! I was intrigued as I am a craft beer fan and both my son and I ordered the Hopslam. He also told us their appetizers were on special for $4.20. My wife loves their pretzels and asked for a half order, he gently reminded her that the full order was the same price and the best value. We placed our full order and then ordered a large half ribeye and half Funky Q. Chicken. I really like MM giving people the option to split their pizza toppings and accommodate different taste buds. The beer and pretzels arrived and beer was an excellent double IPA. I looked it up in my beer app and it was rated a lofty 4.2 stars out of 5 with over 2900 ratings and it earned it as I put it on my favorite list. Complex taste while not being bitter tasting, it also has a high 10% alcohol volume so one needs to be careful not to have more than one or two max... The pizza arrived a little later and I order a second of those beers while our waiter kept my wife's tea glass filled (she was driving). I also received a free Greek salad as part of my checking in as a Yelper!!! Hard to beat that! We really had a good time. Food - 4.5 stars Beer was a 5 and pizza a strong 4. There are better places but not so much around Savannah. A few comparable having different pluses and minuses. Atmosphere - 4 stars Clean / Comfortable and up to date. Service - 5 stars - Much much better than usual, our waiter was great! Orders have been messed up in the past and service not very attentive. I am hoping this is a new trend at this location. Price - 4.5 stars - Today a Free salad, Happy Hour beer and Appetizer prices. Yeah pretty good! Pizza though is normally pricier than I would like to pay. read more

I love this restaurant, but I'm very very disappointed. This is the worst service I've ever had. Our server was AWESOME and none of this was his fault, but they were severely understaffed. There were three of us eating in the bar. It took forever to get our drinks. I ordered La Marca bubbly, and when it arrived, it was a tiny pour and was flat. They brought my salad 25 min after I ordered and my parents' food almost an hour after they ordered. They didn't give me dressing with my salad, and I had to wait a long time to just get some olive oil. When my dad's pizza finally arrived, it was overcooked. Just sad. Sat a t bar...bar had not been wiped down in quite awhile. Asked bartender to wipe down and her reply was I'll get the hostess to do it. My first thought was that if your behind the bar, the bar is your responsibility. Well 20 kinutes go by and the customers on either side of me had problems with thier food, one under cooked and the other wrong order. Mellow is always a good choice for a pie and a cocktail or craft beer. I prefer the bar area as the main dining room is more family centric. It is a chain so that's a minus, and they bake their wings which is sacrilegious in my opinion. read more

Ordered takeout tonight. Front door hostess was very enthusiastic and friendly. Directed me to the takeout counter. Takeout hostess was a little less enthusiastic. While waiting for my order I got to watch six staff members "folding pizza boxes" but only one was really working while the other five were just dawdling around. Not really my business, but I was a little disturbed by the one who was sitting on the unfolded pizza boxes on her phone with her feet on the cart next to more unfolded boxes. I just kept being thankful that my calzone was not in her butt box. I thought about asking for a manager, but I think it was the manager who repeatedly walking past the situation, so if she didn't address the situation - why should I? Nevertheless, I went home ready for my first taste of Mellow Mushroom and I can't say I was overly impressed. My calzone came without tomato sauce, and I feel like the crust was maybe underdone. My wife and I were making a 12 hour drive from Alexandria, VA down to Florida with our 2 year old in toe. When we finished day at Savannah, the hotel recommended Mellow Mushroom as a place good for kids. The restaurant is very convenient to the interstate (as was our hotel), so it only took a few minutes to get to. When we entered, the restaurant just screamed FUN! What else could it be with a Spiderman on the ceiling. Our kid almost went into overload with all of the stuff he could look at. The staff, hosts and wait staff, were incredibly nice and perfectly willing to work with a kid who had been cooped up in a car all day and just wanted to let loose. The drink menu was perfect for Mommy and Daddy who had been cooped up in a car with a 2 year old all day. Most of their specialty drinks involve basil. One might think that it wouldn't work, but the drinks we had were delicious, refreshing, and just plain different. The pizza was delicious. We had the 'mighty meaty', which was just the right over-the-top balance of meats to keep one going after a long journey. I just discovered that there is a branch in Washington, DC.
