We finally made a stop here at the Eisenhower Diner. We wanted to try somewhere new and different so this was our selection . They have a nice large parking lot, and as we walked in, we were cheerfully greeted and seated . The menu is vast, they have everything that you can imagine and I'm sure then some , we both got breakfast which is around 11 o'clock. Our server was extremely friendly, very kind and very accommodating and attentive . Some items the pricing seemed a little on the higher side for a diner. You really gotta look at the menu to find some value in my opinion. . Our breakfast was fine, our service was on the money. Very open seating and a diner atmosphere. read more

We stopped here late at night when pretty much every other restaurant in the area was already closed. We thought they were, too, as it looked like there weren't many lights on inside, from outside the restaurant, and there was one little lone car sitting in the parking lot aside from ours. We called to verify that they were in fact open, so we went inside, and were greeted by a sign saying to grab our own menus and silverware (odd) and to pick our own seats (and with several tables still having dirty dishes on them, that limited our choices a very tiny bit). We were very quickly warmly greeted by the lone person we saw inside, who was probably a manager having to do 84 different jobs at once due to short staffing. She never rushed us, got our drinks to us fast, took our orders and got our food out to us pretty quickly. Our Pepsi drinks tasted slightly off, but that didn't stop us from drinking them. I really enjoyed my Belgian waffle very much, though my side of scrapple was a little lackluster and extra crispy on the outermost part. My wife liked her sandwich (though I already can't remember what she ordered, it was probably a club sandwich). She thoroughly enjoyed her side of coleslaw, however. Long story short, I'm only knocking a star off due to the drink and scrapple that I didn't enjoy. Perhaps if we came here on a busier day, things might have been a little improved. I'd definitely be willing to return again sometime. read more

So, this was our first time visiting the Eisenhower Diner. We arrived late morning and decided to have breakfast. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. The eggs/toast/bacon were good, when I ordered my home fries, I was asked if I wanted onion or green pepper. So I asked for some onion. My home fries came out primarily chopped cooked onions and very little potatoes. I asked our waitress if I could please just have regular home fries with no onion and she brought them to me promptly. She even said she could see there were barely any potatoes. My husband enjoyed his pancakes. All in all, the food was ok, not the best breakfast we have ever had. This restaurant once was Kokomos, so it's kind of strange having it as a diner now. Very relaxed atmosphere, diner vibe. We may give it another try some day. read more

Your average diner. Nothing special but not the worst either. A decent size menu with a bunch of different styles of food to choose from. One thing that threw me off though was the vegetable choices aren't on the menu and the wait staff don't know what they have except for the specials of the day. Very clean for a diner. read more

We ate here following my medical procedure at which time I was famished, and visited at the recommendation of a coworker. We were promptly seated and offered coffee. Our order was taken and delivered in quite reasonable time. The food was definitely adequate; good, but not excellent. The servers were efficient and helpful, but not overly so. The floors and bathrooms were clean, and the prices were reasonable. It was evident that there were regulars in attendance, and I heard such exclamations from the waitress as "See you next week!' Parking was adequate . I really had no complaints. Save yourself the trouble and do not go. Goto starlight diner they're AMAZING. There was one waitress- everything took forever and I starved to death and died before I got food. Couldn't even get two glasses of orange juice we walked out after 30 minutes. CHANGE THE NAME FROM EISENHOWER TO BIDEN! You have better luck getting food holding a cardboard sign on the median strip. read more

One of the worst experiences we have had here...seafood platter didn't come with the baked potato or the biscuit. Steak was not cooked right on the steak stir fry and when our food came out they gave us the shrimp stir fry. The cups are disgusting too. Last time we came we had a great experience. I had to add this review because of the disappointment I feel and how this restaurant is progressing. When they first opened up in Hanover they were running a decent business. You made your order, your order came out quickly and precisely as ordered. The last three visits have been a very big disappointment. Today was the final straw. We had hoped this would be a regular after church breakfast/lunch stop. Unfortunately, the meal quality does not reflect the service. every waitress we've had has been great. It's the apparently lie. The food preparation has been just awful. Meals are over cooked, food items are burned (yet served anyway). then to add insult to injury replacement items for those that were in properly cooked. Be coming out in properly cooked too short of a time. This is no longer our go to after church meal stop. read more

Our first time here. For diner food it was very expensive. My granddaughter ordered a waffle. She only ate a few bites and then I tasted it and knew why. I have never had a waffle taste sour before. My husband ordered a Ruben sandwich and was told they were out of cornbeef. He ordered the bacon cheeseburger sub. It came without the bacon and it was one hamburger cut in three pieces for the whole sub. I ordered the broiled salmon it was one little strip and it was over cooked and stuck to the plate. Unbelievable service, value, and food! We visited on Christmas and had one of the friendliest, most surprising experiences we've had for a long time. The waitress was friendly, efficient, and asked the cook for crispy hash and eggs boiled hard and we got just what we ordered. Better than that was the fact that everyone got delicious food. Although we ordered at dinner, we got delicious breakfast items like fluffy waffles and crispy bacon, and a wonderful (huge) club sandwich that was even better than one we ordered from an upscale deli chain just this week. Best of all - the staff and management really care about people. They are thinking about January specials for service members. We'll be back! read more

We went there twice, the first time, my stuffed flounder was way overcooked, I love fish, and am not finicky, but could not eat it. 2 weeks later, we tried it for breakfast. When we walked in, the cashier, (young man) was texting on his phone, we had to wait for someone else to seat us. They were out of sausage. The breakfast was just okay. We went to pay, the cashiers was on his phone again, gave me my change, without saying thank you, he proceeded to get back on his phone. I said thank-you loudly, but he didn't get the hint. As soon as we walked in we felt odd and like we were bothering the people working. We saw a woman at the counter immediately inside the door. We were not greeted until we stood and looked at her for a minute. She said hi then when it was apparent we didn't know where to go she pointed us down the hall to see the hostess. The hostess spoke very very quietly and did things very slow. She did not know where to seat us and was walking around looking for a table and we didn't know whether or not to follow her. Upon being seated we noticed how dirty the restaurant truly was. The floor was carpeted from previous restaurants however it was not kept up with and there was food all over the floor where you walk and under tables. We noticed a "cleaned" but dirty table next to us with food on the table and all over the floor, soon we saw someone come and put new placemats over the chunks of food and after a few minutes people were seated there. Eventually we got our coffees and I took out a spoon and there was a very visible chunk of lettuce on it. I asked the server for a new one and put the spoon back in the pack and handed it to her however she apologized and turned around to get me new silverware. She never took away the dirty set. My new set was missing a knife. The drinks and the food came out in a fine and timely manor. We both ordered the Athenian panini and it was pretty ok. Definitely not bad but the second half of my panini was over seasoned and was difficult to eat. Our server was ok but she did not check up on us much. When we went up to pay there was some confusion with some of the employees so we were awkwardly standing there as they figured that out and after that the woman who took care of our bill didn't say any words to us until the end of the transaction. Then she said bye to us and I didn't have my card back and I had to tell her I didn't have it. We did go at an off time however there was barely any customers in the restaurant. This place has horrible management and horrible timing we sat down at 6:08.We then ordered our drinks first then our waiter who he didn't seem to be a waiter asked what we wanted and wrote it down got it all wrong, forgot everything we said and wanted. First of all the turkey and stuffing dinner had no flavor the turkey was tasteless, the gravy tasted like flour and water mixed together and was yellow and the meatloaf tasted like a frozen tv dinner THEN The Brussel sprouts were over cooked and was just a pile of mush. My wife and I and our 10 year old daughter decided to try this new place in town for our weekly Saturday morning breakfast. The place seemed to be quite full but the wait for seating was just a couple minutes. We were taken to our table and seated by the server. She was quite polite and attentive. We ordered our meal and waited a short time for it to be brought to the table. I was extremely disappointed. Where do they get such small chickens for those tiny eggs?? My wheat toast was black, and I am not exaggerating, it was literally black from being burned. The sausage patty was rather tasteless and the home fries were very crunchy on the outside and "mush" on the inside. The coffee was good. I have been to all parts of the world and have eaten in many small mom and pop style restaurants in third world countries that would look like a Michelin 5 star restaurant compared to the Eisenhower Diner. I had read other reviews about this diner on a community site. The reviews were dismal at best. I had heard the service and food had improved under new management and after a small kitchen fire. So 3 of us stopped in for lunch today. First, we were impressed at the appearance and cleanliness of the restaurant. Second, the staff were very friendly, courteous, prompt and accommodating. The waitress greeted us, gave us menus and took our drink orders. She returned with our drinks and took our orders after we interrogated her about our selections, she was very patient and knowledgeable. Our food arrived in a timely manner. The soups were hot and flavorful, the entrees were all correct and well presented. We all agreed our meals were good. During our meal the waitress stopped by several times to make sure everything was okay and she refilled drinks. When we finished eating we asked for the check, at which time I mentioned the bad reviews and that we had heard they had a new manager and things had improved. She replied that that was true and that she was one of the new managers. This was a personable young lady who believes in leading by example. She and her Co-managers have obviously taken the time to train the staff and set the tone of the business. We were pleased with our first visit and will return in the future.
