Great new spot for authentic Greek cuisine. I have known Mike for many years and he has consistently produced excellent quality food and exceptional service. Dinner was for a couple of us and we started off with the Pafitiki salad which included roasted halloumi and an array of greens lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes. A very large salad for two and definitely was a great way to start. We shared a couple of entrées and they were both phenomenal. We had the quail and they were served two for each of us and they were perfectly cooked. A nice char but also very tender. The other entrée was the grilled calamari which was very tender definitely cooked the right way marinated expertly and tasted delicious (ask for extra lemon it is that good and brings out the flavor) I highly recommend this place and will be back! read more

My husband and I were absolutely blown away by this meal from start to finish! The evergreen menu is full of go-to Greek staples, and the robust list of specials featured unique items that made it difficult to decide what to order! We were greeted by the chef, who shared with us his favorite dishes. Per his suggestion, we started with the Cyprian meatballs, which were like nothing we've ever had before! My husband described it as "a cross between a Greek meatball and a latke"; what's not to love?! The Ktapodi (grilled octopus) was perfectly cooked and the portion was very generous. We also shared a cauliflower appetizer from the specials menu (for which I can't remember the name!) but that was outstanding as well. For our entrees, we shared a Greek salad and the Mixed Grill platter (yes, we over-ordered!). The salad was excellent; the real block feta was DELISH, and the dressing was light and didn't overpower the fresh produce. Every item in the mixed grill platter was juicy, tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The standout of the dish, however, were the Round Fries. Thin, crispy, and coated in sea salt and a blend of herbs, the round fries are what I'm going to be dreaming about until my next visit. read more

Only one complaint. No one warned me about how much food was going to show up on the table! I stopped here for dinner after dropping my wife off at a dinner meeting. Found it on Yelp and, having not been able to find a Greek restaurant near my home I thought I'd try it. The place was overwhelmingly friendly. Several people greeted me at the door with warm smiles and made me feel welcomed. I sat at a small table and before I had a chance to order even a glass of water there was a platter with olives and warm pita bread out on the table. I was asked whether I'd like sparkling or tap water. I chose tap. My waitress Angela, came over smiling and asked if I'd like to start off with a drink I chose a Greek lager. I told her I was going to have the lamb/beef gyro platter. I chose the stewed greens as my side(no salad choice on the menu as a side). She said "Are you sure, they are dandelion greens" I said NO!!!! And instead ordered the lemon potatoes. As she walked away a small Greek salad was put down in front of me. About. 8 minutes later the gyro was out on the ever increasing crowded table of food and drink. Everything was great. This was what I remember gyros tasting like. It was delicious, the tzatziki sauce was thick and garlicky. The potatoes were good but paled compared to the gyro. This was a bustling Greek restaurant. There seemed to be an inordinate amount of staff here and the worked well together smiling at one another as if this was some big happy family that just happen to make some of the best Greek food I've had in a long time. I was stuffed. The place is long and narrow, there is seating outside and everything was immaculately clean. Even the restroom. I didn't have to ask for extra napkins because they had left them already at my table. I live about fifty miles away from this place but I will make it a point when I am going to be in this area ( it doesn't happen often) I'll be eating here. Meraki Taverna never disappoints. We have had their food several times and intend to be regulars. The portions are plentiful.

So you are in the mood for Greek and you're in Westchester... my usual spot is always Lefteris (mount Kisco, pleasantville and tarrytown) however a friend suggested Meraki Taverna claiming it to be better than Lefteris... well, let's go head to head - let the battle begin! Meraki Greek Salad (with grilled chicken): Cheese - Came with 4 "blocks" of feta cheese, which need to he broken up. I'm not really a fan of this so one point goes to Lefteris. The Salad - tomatoes cut way too big, very little lettuce, only a few olives. Point to Lefteris Chicken - Meraki put the grilled chicken on the side, so it didn't wilt the salad during travel. I thought this was a good thing. Average chicken, point to Meraki Stuffed Grape leaves - Well Meraki does not put these in the salad so huge disappointment. This is one of my favorite parts of a Greek salad... big Point to Lefteris. Dressing - Merakis salad comes with a weird oil dressing which to me lacked any sort of flavor. Point to Lefteris again. Pita bread - Merakis served a nice plate of pita, cut into nice sized pieces. This is nicer than getting one rolled up in tin foil. Point Meraki. So the obvious win goes to Lefteris in my opinion. Meraki's salad to me was just put together with little care. Pieces cut way too big, no stuffed grape leaves, tasteless dressing. Was it bad? No... but I could honestly say that I have had better Greek salads at local diners. I would like to go back and do a gyro battle though, maybe Meraki can put up a better fight. read more

Food was very good. Our apps were the zucchini cakes, octopus and grilled sardines. They were all well prepared. We had Doner platters which were average, the rice is dry and tasteless (get the round fries or lemon potatoes) and shrimp souvlaki which was much better. Homemade baklava for dessert. Here's the thing: if you want good Greek-American food, I recommend it. However, if you're looking for a dining experience, this won't work. The place looks a little better than a Greek diner and they use old fashioned thick plates with no garnish, nothing. You get the sardines or whatever on a plate, period. Not saying it doesn't work just that you eat with your eyes...your eyes won't be impressed but your mouth will enjoy. So I say GO but understand the conditions. read more

This was our first time here! Since the entrance hostess and server were so attentive and happy! We got sat and we ordered 2 kids chicken tenders! Their plates were HUGE!!! And I tried them and were so tasty! They finished them ALL!! Keep in mind one of my boys is 4 and the other one 2!!! And they loved it! My shrimp was perfectly cooked with a big portion of rice (which was also great) and a side salad I tried also the grilled calamari! It was perfectly seasoned and cooked! Came here for dinner one night. It was packed but the service from the wait staff to the kitchen kept up with the crowd. The food was delicious. Then we got the assorted cold spreads so we didn't miss anything to dip more pita pieces in. I ordered the mussels Saganaki for my main course with extra pita of course. My friend got the baby lamb chops with oven roasted lemon potatoes and steamed greens, Everything was absolutely delicious. Service was on point and the prices looked reasonable. As a drug rep we have to cater meals often. I walked into an office that just received their delivery from Meraki Taverna. The staff was going crazy about how good it is and they told me to try. I've been here once in-person and have ordered take-out twice. Since the in-person visit was quite a while ago, I don't remember too well what it was like, but the atmosphere was nice, although it was a little loud, I think the acoustics could be improved but this wasn't something that was completely intolerable. The food has always been very good-- spicy feta, classic gyros, hummus and pita-- delicious. I like how they put the potatoes right in the gyro rather than on the side. Only other qualm is that sometimes they forget the pita that comes with the hummus, but that's something that can be remedied by putting a note when ordering. I had high hopes for Meraki Taverna, since it was the talk of the town and had raving reviews from everyone I knew. We started off with the zucchini cakes, which were delicately crisp with a light taste in the center. Not bad at all. Next, I was served with a dish I didn't order, so naturally I alerted my waiter. Without checking their notepad or consulting someone else, the waiter directly informed me I WAS WRONG. The waiter didn't apologize for their mistake, much less provide me with the dish I actually ordered. Unwilling to make a scene, I spent the remainder of my dinner eating at a shrimp dish that resembled an oily pasta sauce that contained a fascinating number of five (5!!!) mediocre-ly sized shrimp! Awesome!) It left me burping oil the rest of the night. Although their dessert menu looked like fun, I asked for the check and kindly made my way out of the restaurant. I left with a bad taste in my mouth, both literally and metaphorically. Maybe I just got unlucky with my waiter, but I would have at least liked an apology for getting my order wrong. And maybe not be served with a dish that was half oil? There are plenty of pizza places nearby if I'm in the mood for that. read more

My son and daughter in law recently moved to Armonk back in May. We find ourselves going to Meraki every time we visit. The food is great, it's family owned... so the quality and service is the best. My granddaughter will literally sit for over an hour and eat the chicken lemon soup. Highly recommend the moussaka, green salad, grilled shrimp and the dips. read more

Beyond welcoming, our server was the kindest man who spent the time to chat with us and recommend his favorite combinations. The menu has clearly indicated gf items and take cross contamination seriously. They made me fresh homemade gluten free pitas to go with our dips which won my heart over. The Poseidon Platter was filled with perfectly cooked octopus, calamari, and shrimp with sautéed greens- it was so big I just my second half for dinner cold over a salad and it was almost better the second time! The French fries are the real star- soaking up all the yummy leftovers. We enjoyed the house made sangria and ended up chatting and eating for 3 hours- it was the perfect afternoon! We ordered falafel, lamb Ans chicken slouvaki sandwiches for lunch, as well as the lemon chicken soup and eggplant app. Sandwiches were all fresh with lots of lettuce and meat. Absolutely delicious! We stopped for an early dinner, right off the highway in a little residential area with easy parking. The staff are all friendly, there was a nice menu of daily specials. I opted for a small salad and the fried squash patties with tadzikki. Perfect for a smaller dinner. My partner, who loves fish, got the sardines with a side of sautéed greens. Sardines were perfectly cooked. The decor is tasteful and modern. The restroom was spotless and bright. At the risk of sounding like a total B----. I could not even stand being in this place because of the smell. I went here on a weekday night with my friends. I kept asking what that horrible odor was...it was my food! The use of garlic is so overwhelming that you can't taste much of anything. OVER salted, garlicky stuff that made me wretch.. I felt so bad because I could not take a second bite, neither could my friends. I went to Meraki last night because two friends strongly recommended them. Everything was delicious. We ordered two specials: grilled octopus that had some great spices, chickpeas, and other beans and the baked artichoke dish. All great. For the main course we got two Meraki Passion Platters which contained perfectly seared lamb chops and grilled shrimp. Their French fries were cooked to perfection; not too crunchy or soft. All these were accompanied by grilled pita with herbs and a super fresh Greek salad. The interior was very clean and everything came out in a timely manner, even with a ton of take out orders; people were literally lining up to eat their food, Highly recommend! The best Greek food in the area! I came here on a Friday night, luckily we made a reservation! The place was really busy. The food was great and so was the service. Love, love, love the food! My husband and I come down often from Cortlandt Manor just to dine here. We were greeted by the owner Mike shortly after we entered. It was snowing today, but worth the trip. We started off with the grilled calamari.....perfection! Large pieces grilled and marinated with tentacles too!
