    Spicy Chicken Wrap
    David C.

Eating at hotel restaurants can be a gamble, and I usually expect an uninspiring chicken wrap when ordering one off a standard lounge menu. The Spicy Chicken Wrap at Merchant25 completely bucked that trend and really delivered. It features lightly breaded chicken, fresh, dark green lettuce, and a great sauce. The unexpected highlight was the quality of the wrap itself--it clearly wasn't a mass-produced wrap, but something finely crafted with excellent flavor. The accompanying fries were great, and even the ranch I dipped them in was a step above the standard commercial stuff. Traveling solo, I sat at the bar where the bartender team was engaging and conversational. They made excellent, crisp Ranch Waters and even turned me on to Casamigos jalapeño-infused tequila to give the drink an extra spicy kick. This is a fantastic hotel spot that is well worth a visit.

    French Toast

We loved our visit. Food was awesome! I had the breakfast burrito, big and very delicious! The hash browns maybe the best I ever had. Just with they gave me more. Wife got the french toast and really enjoyed them. Really nice dinning area with big windows to people watch. Staff were great and made us feel welcome. Will return.

New bar and restaurant anchoring the Sheraton Grand's lobby

Adj: Renovated for Refinement and an Elevated Experience Merchant25 is the Sheraton Grand Hotel's newly remodeled bar and restaurant located in the historic Public Market Building. It's right at the entrance of the hotel and very easily accessible to the public, you don't have to be staying at the hotel to grab a drink or a meal here. This bar used to be called the Public Market Bar and has undergone renovations recently and renamed as Merchant25. What's special about this bar is that they have higher end craft beers from local breweries, specialty cocktails, fine wines, and farm-to-table sourced food offerings. It looks very different from its previous design. It has been expanded significantly in square footage, and now looks modern with some historic touches vs its more dimmed and somewhat dated look previously. Tons of natural lighting come through the many windows to give Merchant25 a bright and spacious feel, and a very comfortable feel in its color scheme. Since the Safe Credit Union Convention Center is literally next door, I imagine this location will now be a more in-demand place for pre-show drinks or a casual meal of appetizers and entrees before events. Alternately, I can see this as a great after-event gatherings too. a vibrant and contemporary feel. Probably the best thing for those coming for work is that that's a lot of seating with charging plugs and work lighting at individua desks/seats. I can see conference attendees from out of town or even locals using these spaces to get some work done while they grab a meal when they're attending work events held here. Other local venues nearby includes the Community Theater and Memorial Auditorium, so I can see Merchant25 becoming a more popular hangout for a relaxed yet refined gathering place for special occasions like graduations and a night on the town!

Server was great. Food not so much. Stale grocery store tortilla chips? Limited menu, mostly 'hotel' bar food.

Fantastic Spot To "Pregame" Shows @ Goldfields Next Door…read more SITREP We descended upon the Tack Room an hour before our show for "Ally The Piper" (both the classical AND heavy metal bagpiper extraordinaire) began her show! THE SETUP Goldfields is a charming, rustic country-western stylized saloon that serves up beer at good prices. But we weren't interested in beer and wanted quality cocktails. Hence, our pivot next door to the Tack Room! QUALITY COCKTAILS & DRINKS! The Tack Room specializes an amazing array of martinis, bourbons, and other deLISH cocktail drinks at really really reasonable prices! So this was an excellent choice to chill, thus avoiding the tremendous *noise pollution* we were immediately subjected to upon entering Goldfields an hour later for our show. THE LOWDOWN This is a quality bar with plenty of comfortable seating to relax and have quiet, intimate conversations. So if you and your later friend(s) want some privacy, cocktails at a reasonable price, etc., this is a good way to go.

It's themed around horse racing, but not in an overbearing or... tacky way. The mixologist was delightful and had great recommendations, the lights were dim, and the drinks were all on point. The highlight was the espresso martini, which is among the best I've had. It was reminiscent of the one I had at the Starbucks Roastery in NYC, which is high praise. The other coffee drink that surprised me was the Revolver. I always forget about what a good pairing orange and coffee is, and I'll be taking this one back home with me to try! Every other drink we tried was delicious in some unique way. The Pho drink was savory and surprising, the New York Sour was rich and flavorful, and the Practical Move was refreshing. Will definitely return here after dinner to sip an espresso martini for dessert!

The food was good, the drinks were great, and the whole atmosphere made for a really fun date night. We started with the Pu Pu Platter, which came with veggie spring rolls, crab rangoon, coconut shrimp, chicken pot stickers, and Huli Huli chicken wings. What I really liked is that you can mix and match the platter. You don't necessarily have to get one of everything, so if you really like the pot stickers, for example, you can double up on those and substitute something else. Everything we had was really good! I also loved the presentation. It came out on a spinning tray with a little warmer in the middle, which was such a cool touch and really added to the tiki-bar experience. Since I'm not a big drinker, I went with a couple of mocktails. Sadly, I don't remember the names or flavors , but I do remember they were AMAZING! Even the fresh pineapple on the rim was good. We also ordered the togarashi fries, and those were really good too! Just watch out for those jalapeños because they had a little kick to them! The dipping sauce that came with the fries was really good as well. My only setback was the lighting. I know a tiki bar is supposed to have a dark atmosphere, but it was so dark that we had a hard time reading the menu and had to use the flashlights on our phones. We definitely weren't the only people doing it either. One last thing I have to mention, the bathroom was REALLY clean! I always appreciate that. Overall, I had a great experience. My girl did a great job picking this spot for the surprise, and we would definitely come back!

Drinks are delicious and not too fancy--I don't really want a drink that makes me feel like I got punched in the face. Strong, but not overly so. My faves are the Lava Flow and Macadamia Nut Chi Chi! I've done Disney, Halloween and Christmas. The drinks and mugs are a blast, and the staff is always great. Go and have a blast!
