This is a small restaurant with very friendly staff. The decor is just okay, but who cares about that if the food is good?? We ordered So Moo Swa, a fried appetizer of pork, potato, and onion, and it came with a sweet sauce. I really liked it and would get this again. Very tasty. I had the Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp and my dining partner had yellow curry with chicken. I liked the Pad Thai but it wasn't the best that I've ever had in Omaha. (The best Pad Thai is at Salween Thai, in my opinion). This dish seemed like it had a little too much fish sauce and there were only 2 pieces of shrimp. My fiancé and I love Thai food and we have been to many of the spots in Omaha. The restaurant is located in a strip mall, but don't let that fool you. The ambiance leaves something to be desired, but the rest of the experience more than makes up for it. The service was extremely fast and incredibly friendly. We had the fresh spring rolls, which were very fresh and crisp (recommend). My fiance had the yellow curry while I enjoyed the pa nang. The flavors were amazing and rich, and the portions were perfect. I couldn't stop and completely finished mine with the help of an additional serving of rice. My fiance felt her curry was by far the best she's had in Omaha, while I helped her finish hers. The meal was fantastic, and the bill was a pleasant surprise! It would get all 5 stars in my book if they just put more protein in their dishes. I had the Drunk Noodle with chicken level 7. Wife had pineapple fried rice level 4. Both were great...wifey said she'd probably get three next time as it was a little hot for her. Mine..well, I've had this dish at every Thai joint in this fair city, and it is hands down the best! I wanted to give 3.5 star but that wasn't an option. We like to try a new place to eat in Omaha when we are shopping, as we live 2 hours away. I always check out Yelp to search for the next best meal. This place has great reviews but the reviews didn't live up to our experience. We ordered the spring rolls... Yes they are fresh but all you could taste was cilantro. I like cilantro but there is more to a spring roll that cilantro. The dipping sauce was delicious! Thank goodness. I ordered the Chinese broccoli with pork. I was expecting nice thin slices of tender pork and what I received was chunks of fat with very little meat. This would have been a 5* meal. They need to better explain on their menu. I wouldn't have ordered had I known the meat would be so fatty. My husband had an eggplant with ground pork. That was delicious. He ordered a 9 on the heat level and felt as though it was a 5. We also had ordered some vegetable lo Mein and the noodles were so soggy and mushy that we couldn't eat them. They needed some crispness to them. The mango with sticky rice was good but needed just a bit more coconut cream. It was 1:00pm when we arrived and we were the only customers. The 4.5 stars on Yelp got my attention. Sadly (and rare, outside of restaurants in Altus OK), I have to give Mercy Thai 2 stars. I would go 2.5 if able, but I'm going to round down, rather than up. Those who have read my other reviews, including another Omaha Thai restaurant within the past week, know 3 or fewer stars is relatively rare. My wife and I showed up at 12:30 on a Wednesday. The lunch crowd was small - perhaps 8-9 other people. Nonetheless, service was sparse and unremarkable - as in nonexistent after our food was brought out. I had the pineapple fried rice (heat level 3) and it was very unremarkable, and seemed like 0 on the spicy scale. The wife had the yellow curry with chicken. The curry broth was excellent, but the chicken (white meat) was funky in both taste and texture; 99% of the chicken ended up not being eaten. Moreover, the potatoes in the curry were undercooked. The Thai iced tea was good, but kind of spendy. And like a lot of other Thai restaurants in Omaha, soft drinks (or, as these people call them, "pop", or as I would generically call them "Coke", are sold by the can, for $1.25 each (I think). Kind of spendy, especially if I want more than 12 ounces. Why can't these places just install a fountain and charge me $1.99 or even $2.99 with free refills??? Bottom line, Mercy Thai was mediocre and I will not return. Thai Kitchen (Lakeside Plaza) and Laos Thai Kitchen (24th Street, in Little Mexico) are both much better in service and quality. read more

So this is number 1 huh? Yes it was good. But I rate the total experience. I used their bathroom. MIStake! Very dirty. They have a chicken skewer appetizer that I asked the waiter if it was breaded. He looked at me like I was speaking English. In other words he had no idea what I was saying. Brush up on your English buddy. The chicken in fact was non breaded. It was grilled with a very nice dipping sauce. It was very good. I also ordered the beef noodle soup. Also known as Pho. They bring you this nice tray of sauces to mix. I made it hot. Really hot. It was awesome. There was not enough meat however. So other than that and bathroom, I highly recommend this place. Not sure if it's the best in town though. Time will tell. read more

Decent Thai food in West Omaha. Some what Americanized in that it is more salty and heavier on the garlic flavor. I had the standard pork pad thai and the scale was from 1-10. I like my pad Thai on the sweeter side so I order below 4 but I could have gone much higher here. One of my party got a 9 and I didn't see much of a difference. The food was ok, not the best Thai food that I have had. The fried rice had very little meat in it. The service was absolutely terrible. We were never greeted, had to ask for refills, never was asked how our food was, and didn't even get a simple thank you for dining there. My wife and I have ate here for several years and have always had a great experience until now. Tonight we drove 20 minutes to pick up our to-go order and when we got home we realized we didn't receive our egg rolls. Mistakes happen so I figured they forgot to put them in the bag; no big deal for a good restaurant. Then my wife dished out her red curry chicken and there was no chicken. My red curry had three pieces. I call and the person who answered told me the new owner told them they give too much chicken. I asked if I could drive back and pick up a new order and was told I would have to pay for another order but would get extra chicken. Logically, there are two of us so what am I going to do with another order of red curry, and why should I have to pay for chicken I already paid for once? Well 'new owner' (whoever you are), I can tell you right now that no chicken is unacceptable and the three pieces in my other order isn't much better. The thing is, I would pay an extra dollar or two per order if it meant I would receive an appropriate amount of chicken. I can make more money and pay more for food but I can't make chicken appear into my meal. The poor women on the phone seemed pretty miserable and said she plans to quit. I stumbled across this restaurant as a lunch mid-point between friends working downtown and south/west Omaha. Everyone loved it. We had red curry chicken, drunken noodles and chicken fried rice. Really excited to try this restaurant, however due to service I won't be able to. Ordered online using skip the dishes for pick up and ordered a 0 spice. Had family pick it up, dish arrived covered in red pepper flakes and marked a 10. When we called and explained what had happened they were very apologetic and asked us to bring the dish back, said they would have a new one waiting. When family drove back out and asked for a discount or a free entree on the next visit they cancelled the order and said no. Now we have no food and have driven 40+ minutes. read more
