Go during the day or don't go at all. Me and a couple pals went to Merrimack Valley Pavilion last night for mini golf, a harmless activity, and honestly, it was one of the creepiest experiences I've ever had. Sure, during the day it's charming, families, kids, bright colors, ice cream, obstacle courses arcade games and whatnot. But at night, something shifts. The woods press in close around the course, and it feels like at any moment, a deer could break through the trees and sprint across the green. That sounds funny until you realize how easily someone could get hurt, or worse. Who knows what lingers in these woods. The little ponds scattered through the course, which seem endearing under the sun, but in the dark they suddenly look deep, like someone could slip, fall in, and never come back up. We lingered near the cave on hole 14, and I swear to God there was something wrong inside. It wasn't just dark it felt like something or someone was waiting. My chest got tight when I stepped near it, and I had to back away. My friend started shaking uncontrollably. And then there are the tikimen statues. During the day they're just silly props, but at night? They look disturbed , tilted, cracked, like they've been through something they'll never talk about. But the worst was hole 18. As we lined up for our final shots, I heard it, a whisper. My name. Clear as day, right next to my ear. I spun around, but no one was there. My friends looked pale, they'd heard their names too. We rushed to finish and left in silence. Here's the truth: all these little details, the woods, the ponds, the statues they're harmless in daylight. But at night, Merrimack Valley Pavilion feels haunted. And I don't say that lightly. Go for the ice cream if you want, but leave before dark. And if you do stay late... don't turn around when you hear your name. read more

Hi, this place looks so fun, but no one answers the telephones. There are conflicting hours on the website and Waze. There are no prices for the listed advertised activities. I would love to bring my children, but don't want to show up and have it closed, so can you please answer your business phone. We were looking for a last minute spot for laser tag for my daughters' birthday so I emailed about reserving time. Even though they were closed, they opened up for a private laser tag double-session and could not have been nicer about it. I came here last month with my boyfriend to play mini golf. The course was okay-- fairly standard and not a lot of pizzazz. As previous reviews have mentioned, a lot of the greens were uneven/worn out. It seemed understaffed and just not well-maintained. There was also an arcade inside and food, but we didn't check those out. Overall it was fun, but it could have been better if the course was updated and taken care more. read more

The miniature golf course isn't kept up AT ALL. It's $13 a person and the course is a trash heap.

I'm sure this was a nice mini golf place in its day, but its become sad and neglected. The cours is uneven and rhe artificial grass is worn out to the point you couldn't putt in a straight line if you wanted to. I'll drive to the one in Manchester before I go back to this one. read more

Had the whole place to ourselves on a Saturday afternoon in the middle of winter. The lazer tag was valuable and the kids said it is legit. My wife wanted a pretzel but they didn't have any so you may want to call ahead and see what they have available. It seemed like it is first come first serve. A large group walked in just as we finished so they had to wait a short time to play lazer tag. The arcade is up to date! Enjoy! read more

This place is in need of an update. Looks like no one cares about the mini golf course. There are rocks and debris on the course at many holes. The little bit of water that is actually there looks more like sewage. The place could be decent if cleaned up. I can't speak to any of the other activities here. But if you are looking for mini golf you are better off going somewhere else. read more

For $52 for a family of 4 to mini golf with two kids, you'd think the upkeep on the teef would be much better. Instead it's ripped, worn out, with rocks and debris all over the majority of the holes. It's clear the management has no regard for the upkeep of this establishment, but they have no problem charging $13 for a 6 year old to golf. Trash. read more

The most miserable course we have ever experienced.  Several of the holes were full of water and not playable.  They really have no business selling tickets to play this course as an entertainment venue, never mind the outrageous price of $13 each for such a bad experience. The course has obviously been neglected for several years.  The vegetation is overgrown or dead, the carpets are coming up, torn, or caked with dirt, the walls are crumbling and the holes have not been swept, cleaned or even leaf-blown all summer.  "Tunnel Monster", really?  That's the owner neglecting the course, a power washer I'm sure could clean it out.  Even the equipment we were given was in terrible shape, this should have been our first sign to walk away. read more

My son had the best birthday party ever. the staff was amazing. We had 27 third graders. Everyone played mini golf, laser tag, and arcades. The staff was so accommodating. I hadn't planned on arcade cards, but at the last minute I thought, why not. Within minutes I had them loaded and ready to go. It is very clean and while the staff is there the second you need them, they are not in your face rushing you. I highly recommend them!! read more

I was extremely disappointed with the mini golf at Merrimack Pavillion. Th greens were so poorly maintained that the golf balls would not even roll. They were torn, worn and buckled. Also the fees charged were among the highest I've encountered for this family activity. Do not even entertain the thought of patronizing this establishment! read more

This review is basically just for the Laser Tag. I was totally skeptical when I arrived at the recently opened MVP. I've been to a few laser tag places in my time and I was prepared for one of those tiny room mazes. I was thrilled to discover that they out a lot of effort into the space for laser tag. It's huge! My boyfriend and I came here in the middle of the week so it wasn't exactly busy but the guys who ran the games were more than happy to play a game of LT with us and two other folks who decided to check it out. It made for a great time! For those interested there is a small arcade area with air hockey (yes!) and a couple of video games. I can't speak for the mini-golf as that part is closed for the winter. I'll definitely be back here for more laser tag and, come spring, I'll be checking out the mini-golf. read more

I have never in my life before this past weekend, gave a company a bad review. But the owner earned this one. I booked my ASD son a birthday party there. It was supposed to be from 1 to 3; when I arrived, I was informed of another party starting at 3, which I took no issue with (despite thinking that may be poor party planning). The establishment, although wanting our compliance with staying on schedule with EVERYTHING, allowed a huge ground of people, not associated with the party, ahead of us for mini golf. Suffice it to say, it caused us to fall behind. When we returned to the facility from the mini golf, we were approached by a stressed out, aggressive owner, who then proceeds to tell us we had mere minutes to eat, sing happy birthday and basically get out of the party room and start lazer tag because the party she booked incorrectly and too close together was set up outside the birthday room. She then proceeded to charge me another $515 dollars with a mandatory gratuity associated. When I complained about her rushing us, her aggression and her mismanagement, and her overall rudeness, she took it all in as if she was "yeah, yeah" me to death and walked away. Not only is the place extremely outdated, but this person books two parties back to back and then makes it the public's problem. read more

First time back for mini golf since the pandemic and very disappointed. The course needs lots of maintenance and repair. Some parts seemed dangerous to have young children. The water pump was not working and some of the water was very moldy green, other places dry and customers threw trash. Green carpet on the courses ripped in a few holes. Despite all the problems Covid has brought to business, it was Memorial Day weekend and I expected that they would have been cleaned up with general maintenance and ready to go for the season. read more

The mini golf course looks like it's never been serviced/cleaned/repaired. Some holes are so damaged from water and weather they aren't even playable. I understand how COVID has affected many businesses, but do not come here if you're looking for mini golf. The clubs are difficult to work with, and the place is understaffed so I had to wait for mini golf for a while. It's over expensive and each player costs $13--Richardson's is a much better course for way less, it would be best to go somewhere like there instead. The courses are ripped up and some of the holes are broken, and they haven't bothered to fix them. It's a waste of money, the course isn't well taken care of, and it would be a better idea to go somewhere else. read more

Such a fun place to go! I went on a date with my husband and I have to say that it was one of the most fun dates! I just love the way they designed the mini golf!! They also have arcade games! I am writing this review primarily because of the ice cream. First of all, I do not agree with the positive reviews about this place. I am surprised this place even sells ice cream. I don't know what the heck they do to it, but the ice cream there is horrible. 0 stars if Yelp allowed. I went there for my friend's 5-year-old brother's birthday party (which is why I was not able to do laser tag.) After the laser tag was over, we had cake and ice cream. Not a bad start, right? Wrong. I had ordered mint chocolate ice cream. I know that Richardson's makes really good ice cream, so when I took my first bite I was thinking, "Why the heck is this not minty at all?" It only got worse. I got food poisoning that night because of the darn ice cream. How the hell can you screw up like that, MVP? read more

My kids prefer this laser tag place over others. Something about there being a hideaway. Last time I was there I saw the staff treat a group of older teens, with intellectual disabilities, a free scoop of ice cream after they played mini golf on a super hot day in August so that generous of them. Losing a star because the website says laser tag is a 30 minute game. After 18 minutes my kids (4=$40) came out. That included the briefing. At laser craze, they go in for a much longer time than 18 minutes so for me, it is not a good value to go more than 1-2x a year and only when the kids suggest it. read more

First and foremost, I'm not a fan of giving negative reviews, but I do believe that an activity that involves taking the family and being less than satisfied needs attention even if it's negative. My family and I like to hit this mini golf course at least once a season but I think this was our last ever visit! When I first saw how much of a price increase I was actually horrified!! All they were giving us was a ball and a club, we have to do the rest! And the course itself needs a lot of repairs! One hole was even blocked. I do understand due to COVID, help is hard to find, but we literally had to look for someone to assist us, not to mention she came from their food section with her gloves on, took my dirty money, sprayed our golf clubs and then I really hope she didn't go back to handling people's food with the same gloves. Sundaes! The drive in movie aspect is cute but super informal. The Sundaes and staff were amazing! Celebrated a birthday night and the kids loved the atmosphere but the movie was not too important too them-Thank goodness. I'd definitely go again read more

PERFECT FOR YOUTH - TWEEN BIRTHDAY PARTY I booked my daughter's 7th bday party online with MVP with ease. We had never been to MVP, so we visited the place a week before the party-- the staff was very friendly and showed me the party room/ laser tag 'arena'/ arcade. I appreciated that. On the day of the party, we arrived and were greeted just as we walked in and teamed up with a staff member (Marina) who was going to lead the party-- and she did a great job. The party ran like clockwork, with all decisions in my hands. Marina told me what was up next (laser tag game, pizza, cake, another game) but let me decide when I wanted to move to the next step. Not once did I feel pressured or stressed out (and with 4 kids of my own, that happens quick!). We brought our own cake, but that is all that is allowed-- no outside food, so I couldn't offer snacks to the parents waiting during the laser tag games. It's a minor thing, but it would've been nice. The pizza provided was good, but the ice cream was DELICIOUS! Big servings enough to feed two! The parents who passed on the cake couldn't resist the ice cream! MVP was definitely a good choice for 7+ year olds. The laser tag area is 6000 sq ft with two floors-- it's a series of many, many rooms instead of an 'arena' with obstacles. The laser tag transforms to a haunted house during this time of year, and the creepy skeleton heads, etc spooked a couple of birthday guests-- either that, or they were just scared of the dark ;) The 'arcade' mostly has games that give tickets like at Chuck E Cheese-- definitely not the biggest arcade, but it was nice to leave the party room's door open and let the kids run back and forth between the rooms. We didn't play mini golf due to the weather, but MVP gave us a pass for future visits as well as discount cards for all of our guests. The parents were more than eager to take one! It's a cozy place so you won't lose your kid, it's clean, and the staff is very energetic and friendly. We would definitely do it again. read more

I went to MVP yesterday with my 12 year old son and we met a friend and her 12 year old son. I had two vouchers for a free round of laser tag from a local Red Cross blood drive that I received after donating, so although not on our regularly beaten path, we decided to check it out. The laser tag was not the big production that some of the larger centers are-- it's check in and then go wait by a door, which was initially a little confusing, but when the boys emerged about 30 minutes later, they both declared that it was THE BEST LASER TAG EVER and then opted to play another round. They loved that there were two levels and places to hide and excitedly declared that they, "almost needed a map!" (I guess this is a very good thing in terms of laser tag arenas!) I think it's good to keep in mind, that this is more of a "fun center" and that there are lots of things to choose from so the whole complex is not just a laser tag arena. After the two rounds, the troops needed some refreshments, so we had ice cream. WOW! the portions were huge (HUGE) and Richardson's ice cream is always delicious. The teenage workers were friendly but never pushy-- they would wait for you to take the lead in ordering or asking questions. I had a reusable cup with me and one of the workers was happy to refill it ("Sure! no problem!') with tap water for me twice during our visit. We noticed the staff constantly wiping the counters and the tables. Again, the place is very, very clean. The boys then proceeded to play a round of mini golf. The course didn't seem huge from a distance, but was very, very well manicured and clean-- everything about this place is spotless. The course has a tiki/tropical theme and has waterfalls and bridges-- very well done. They maximized the small space. It might feel too crowded if there were a lot of people on the course, but that was not our experience. There was a camp group finishing up while we were there, and I was impressed with the interactions of what must have been the teenaged party hosts that worked for MVP. During the visit, my friend and I sat on the deck under beach-style umbrellas and supervised the boys having fun. The deck gives the perfect vantage point to be able to watch the action and the day we were there was sunny with a breeze so the conditions were perfect. While we opted not to sit inside in the AC, they do have a large area with tables that also has flat screen tvs mounted on the walls. Also of note are the beautiful and very clean bathrooms. To round out the visit, we let the boys each have $5 which gave them each 20 tokens and they had a ball for 45 minutes with games like Ski-Ball and "whack a mole." They each earned 200-300 prize tickets that they exchanged for typical prize fare. My friend and I were both so pleasantly surprised by this venue-- it is not a huge complex, but had a lot to offer and the whole complex made for a really nice and fun afternoon. It was not crowded while we were there (1:00-4:15 on a sunny, summer weekday), was exceptionally clean and was in my opinion very reasonably priced for all that was offered. When I told my son that I was writing a review and wanted to know if it was a 4 star or 5 star day, he said, "5 stars all the way-- I liked it so much, it was an awesome!" The day this opened, I went for a simple ice cream and ended up getting so much more. Not only is the ice cream awesome (I think they serve Richardson's), but you get to add whatever toppings you want and as much as you want. While enjoying our sundaes I met Steve, one of the owners. He was so friendly and informative and the next time I went in he remembered who I was. He gave my nephews a personal tour of the place and they still talk about how awesome it was. The kids love the laser tag and arcades, while I still am a huge fan of the ice cream. I haven't gotten to play mini golf yet, but it is on my to-do list this summer. I more recently went in to ask Steve if he could donate a game of mini golf for my charity event, and without a second thought he offered MVP as my venue for the event. Overall a great business and clearly a great owner - in the interim I have been interacting with Butch and Loretta who are equally as kind and good-hearted. Nice to have a replacement where Grand Prix was with enough to do that it brings back my fond childhood memories of Funland. To top that off - it is run by a great group of people. 5+ stars!! read more

I had my son birthday party here and was the most horrible time. Was charged for things that we did not receive or get. Then owner assured us because she went back on her word when planning the party that it would only be my son and friends in laser tag she let strangers in, when asked her about it said I would not be charged for that round of laser tag, but guess what lied to again got charged for it and many things our party didn't even receive. Gave her few attempts to make right but she did not, sad that a business treats people this way Don't make same mistake as me and get ripped off here! Best of luck read more

We just recently visited for a basketball end of the season get together. All was okay but nothing extravagant including the food. After the kids ate I found my son up front with his friends by a broken coin machine. The woman that worked there was irate and said they took the paper that said out of order off and threw it out. My son said "that wasn't us" she SNAPPED at him and said "YES IT WAS!" . I was telling my husband this when my older son said. That wasn't them, it was a little girl, she knocked the sign off by accident and someone must have thrown it out. He then pointed out the little girl. I will never return because of this. It's wise to make sure your employees actually see something happening before they snap. By the way this was 3/1/20. Maybe it will show staff working this day. Everyone was very nice at MPV. The price is right for food and fun. Something for almost everyone. My son enjoyed Laser tag the most and 5-year-old daughter got a hole-in-one in mini-golf. Unlike other mini-golf places, they allow you to go through 2X so there is no rush and you get plenty of exercises. The arcade is small but just the right mix of games for kids and adults. I particularly liked the deal or no deal game while waiting for laser tag to end. And yes i am told a beer and wine license is coming soon for adults that need something to help them relax. read more
