I'm a big stickler for cleanliness, so although Wendy was good at her job, she tried to use a *used* nail file on my toenails. I had to ask her to grab a new one and said I'd be happy to pay for it, though I was not charged. Also, the cuticle cutter was dull and pulled my skin instead of cutting it--this is dangerous as it can leave a wound open to infection to the bacteria that live in pedicure tubs. Given the prominence of foot fungus (the older lady in the seat next to me had toenails that were entirely gray--I can only speculate what from), cleanliness is really important--not to mention govt health codes. Minor things: she only used the sugar scrub on my feet, not my calves (good thing my wife will do that for me), and I had to ask her to scrub my feet/heels with the scrubber sponge some more (but I really want my feet soft, so I'm probably pickier than the average customer). read more

I got a mani-pedi from this place. I was able to walk right in without an appointment on a Saturday afternoon, which was VERY much appreciated! One lady worked on my hands while another lady worked on my toes. There was nothing fancy about this place. This isn't the place if your main concern is a relaxing/serene ambiance. But the ladies did a nice job and it was much more affordable then the swanky places. I would go back! read more

I started going here when I moved to LA about 2 years ago. They give the best mani pedis at the best price!! When I found out my mani pedi was only $28 I was happy, but when my nail polish didn't chip (regular nail polish, not gel) for a week and a half... I was sold! I'm giving this place 3 stars for many reasons. I went in to get a gel manicure and regular pedicure. The water for my pedicure was way too hot for any persons foot. I'm brown and my feet turned red! So strike 1. Then when it was time for the hot towel to go on my feet, it was also scorching hot! Turned my feet red once again, strike 2 and when it was time to cut nails, the manicurist was really rough! She pinched the skin on my pinky toe and actually scratched me. Not sure what is up with the great reviews - I went here because of them but I left with a manicure that looks like it was done by a child and with smudges that weren't fixed. I've been here 3 or 4 times, and i wanted to love it since I can walk there from my house. Here's why I won't be returning: They cut me pretty much every time, which isn't a huge deal but it still sucks. They're much more aggressive in taking off gel than most. Their gel manicures never seem to last as long as other places, don't know why. But they crack pretty quickly. Their attention to detail isn't great with nail shapes and such either. Not all of the employees are very friendly. I had a problem with a pedicure once- I put on my shoes (little slip ons, not anything crazy) nearly 4 hours after my pedicure and the polish got totally screwed up. I called them to see if I could come in to fix it and they were pretty rude about it. They fixed them but they seemed really annoyed. I've also called ahead to make an appointment, and then had to wait when I got there anyway. What's the point of having an appointment? :/ You also have to tip cash, which is common but it's always a huge bonus for me if I can tip on the card. I'll come back if I'm in a pinch maybe but there's another nail place a block away that I'll be trying instead :( bummed. read more

This place is great! I have tried several nail places in the valley and this place keeps me coming back. There are so many things to love about this place. I get a gel manicure and regular pedicure and no matter who does them, I know that they're going to be perfect. They also both last a very long time. I have to get them done about every 2 weeks, but only because my nails grow out. I even ran a half marathon about 1 1/2 weeks after my pedicure and no chips at all! I am going back tomorrow for a set. This is not a luxury salon, but you get more than you pay for.
