I'm not a huge taco fan primarily in that they tend to be super messy... thus the wonderful name of this taco truck. The website gives the days and locations you can find if, usually in the Loomis area. With that, I will say that these tacos are well prepared and super delicious. I had one with carnitas and another with carne asada. Both were equally good. They use soft tortillas, doubled up, which will help keep it all together. There are finely chopped toppings, which add to the flavor and texture. The mixture is perfect, although at the finish point, it does get a bit sloppy and messy! The only downside is I found the two tacos to be very greasy. It came with chips, nicely toasted, and both a green and red salsa sauce, very savory and just right in consistency and heat for my taste. I also got two chorizo. They were slightly warmed with a filling that were spot on delicious. They have to be the best I've ever had with a wonderful dusting of cinnamon. This is a definite winner in taco food trucks, and I highly recommend trying them out.

Love this Food Truck! Their pork belly taco and chicken mango burritos are absolutely the best. So much flavor and just keeps you craving more. I love their own chip seasoning they do as well. Highly recommend trying them if you see their pop up schedule or for a private event. You won't be disappointed! The taco truck is cute as well with big & bright colors . Giving a cute fusion Hawaiian vibe and the staff are very friendly.

Food Truck. We tried out Messy's Tacos food truck. I believe it was parked at a brewery in Granite Bay. Food was really good. You get 3 large tacos and you can get different types of tacos. Korean Beef is the bomb. Also don't forget to try their Corn Bites. Tasty. The trick is finding them. Check their social media sites for calendars.

Messy's is what every small independent eatery should be! First, it's a small little eatery (the old fashioned walk up to the sliding window to order your food) that reminds me of the of the Old hamburger stands back in the 70's when I was a kid. I love that! The menu has a few appetizer items, tacos, burritos, and a few desserts. Their menu is pretty straight forward...a list of meats (or veggie) and a price next to it depending on whether you want a taco, bowl, or burrito. They also have a few different "special" tacos like their Korean beef and award winning pork belly tacos. I ordered the Korean taco and the carne asada tacos, chips and cheese sauce. OMG!!! The Korean taco is extremely flavorful! The first bite is a punch of flavor and the juicy, Korean marinated beef , with the subtle sesame oil that's in the marinade on the purple cabbage, compliments each so well!! Most places use way too much sesame oil which can be very overpowering, but these guys got it right. The carne Asada taco was totally amazing as well and I loved the flavors going on in The marinade, too! Both tacos were loaded with juicy, moist, Uber tender steak. The best carne asada and Korean tacos I've had in my life! The chips were warm, thin (to me the best way), and I'm pretty sure they just fried them up as soon as I ordered! The cheese sauce is bomb, too! I love the patio...very comfortable, adorably decorated, and they have misters running for the hot season, and ceiling fans under the big covered patio area. Even in the coldest months, I can't imagine not eating there under the patio, since there is no indoor seating and I'm guessing they have outdoor heaters for keeping you comfortable. I may note that There is also no indoor restroom, but there is a outdoor restroom (ports potty?) and hand washing station, so if you don't like using those, I'd suggest going to the restroom at home before coming here. The food and service are so amazing that that would never keep me from coming back!

Messy's Taco has been on my radar for about a month now and I finally came here on New Year's Eve. They are a really small place, almost like a little shack but it's cute. It totally seems like the type of restaurant that the whole city knows about and loves and is a must for visitors to try. Also the reviews are really good so worth a try. After taking a small gander over the menu and trying to remember what some of the items looked like according to Yelp I ordered the Cheeseburger Taco, Korean Taco and made it a meal with rice, beans and a soda. While waiting I kinda just checked out their outdoor seating which is a little covered and each table has a set of heaters (it was so cold outside) and then I was admiring the view of the trees. I definitely would have eaten outside if it was a tad bit warmer. The wait for the food wasn't bad and I think the tacos are made/cooked to order. The takeout presentation was wonderful, the food was placed neatly in the plastic container. And to my surprise the meal came with chips, I was kicking myself for not ordering a side of guacamole to go with it. The Cheeseburger Taco came wrapped in a flour tortilla with seasoned ground beef, queso, onions, lettuce and topped with fries. This taco was really good and very flavorful, I loved the crispy fries on top and those were seasoned perfectly as well. It's one of the best and most flavorful ground beef tacos that I've had. The Korean Taco came wrapped in a corn tortilla with Korean beef, red cabbage slaw, sriracha aioli and sesame seeds. This was definitely my favorite of the two tacos. The Korean beef was marinated great, cooked perfectly and was tender. I loved the addition of the red cabbage slaw because it really added to the flavor and helped cool down the spiciness of that sriracha aioli. Tons of flavor all the way around but next time I may ask them to go easy on the aioli because it was really spicy or maybe I'm just a baby when it comes to spicy food lol. The rice and beans were really good and fresh, the rice was quite flavorful and moist. The chips were were yummy too, they were super crispy and had a nice seasoning on them. Overall this place was really good and I can't wait to go back to try more of their items and I'm hoping my next visit they'll have those cheesy churros that I've seen tons of people rave about. I highly recommend trying this place if you live close by or are visiting the area.

I was at a brewery and this was the food truck that was there. There were three options on the menu- chicken, pork belly, and carne asada. Well two, because they ran out of the carne asada. I got one of each of the chicken and pork belly. The chicken was average to me, but I enjoyed the pork belly. The sauce on top of the pork belly went well with the meat. The chips that came with the tacos were thin, and I prefer thicker ones. I wanted to order another pork belly taco, but they ran out of that too afterwards. The tacos are a bit expensive at $6 per taco, hence the three stars.

Worth a stop. Had a carne Asada breakfast burrito w dragons breath hot sauce. Not traditional carne asada but considering where they are it wasn't bad. The hot sauce was very hot. Don't recommend for the faint of heart. But I love hot stuff Liked to try some other items to truly given thorough opinion but this review is based on the one item only Staff was very nice. Food was prepared promptly and brought out to their enclosed eating area. They sell beer too

I'm addicted to their burritos. They are SO BIG, it works out as two meals. Today, my people hooked me UP with the sweet potato & black bean veggie burrito. Sounded SO GOOD, I added bacon (I know, but COME ON!) OUTSTANDING! With the smoky salsa??!! I'll be energized ALL DAY! Yum!

Yum!! So this is a little place that serves some really excellent and high quality food! While it might look like a place you would choose to drive by, that would be a mistake. In fact, it was so good I ate my Asada burrito before getting a photo!!! So relative to food, service, and value here are my impressions. The food was outstanding. My wife had a Korean taco and a carnitas taco. They were delicious and both had unique flavors. Both were really large and had an abundance of yummy fillings. These are not your regular tacos, they are large and well executed! I had an asada burrito and it was outstanding. There was a healthy amount of asada and the smoky salsa was excellent!! The service was quite nice! Everyone smiled and the food came out quickly and hot. Plus, they were more than happy to recommend items and kept it real. They did a great job! Finally value. At first I thought, $4 for a taco is kinda expensive....until the taco came. 2 tacos was a lot of food, and my burrito was huge. In the end, the cost was just shy of $20 and we were stuffed! I will be back and you should go as well! It's a great change and nice find!

I decided to try this place because I was looking for a place that serves food fast but not a fast food chain plus this place had very good ratings on Yelp. I decided on the crunchy shelled tacos. I ordered one carnitas taco and one chicken taco. The taco shells were seasoned with a Mexican seasoning. It came with chips also with the same seasoning. I'm not a fan of this seasoning but I don't hate it either. There is ample shaded seating in the side and in the back. If I come again I think I'll try something different.

Ground beef taco and sorry I couldn't wait on the other one which was chicken. Both very good!!

Oh my goodness! You HAVE to try this place. The place and atmosphere itself is absolutely adorable. I'm very picky when it comes to quality and texture of meat, but I tried their chicken tacos and loved them! Their chips are deliciously seasoned which I haven't seen at any other mecican food joint. The wife and I enjoyed our recent dinner at Messy's. Big tacos flavored with your choice of sauces. I tried the smokey and the spicy both were very good. These tacos have more protein than most and as a born carnivore I embraced all three that I had. My wife ordered the veggie tacos and said she loved them. Churro for dessert yummm. The staff is what really makes this place special friendly, helpful and efficient. You can tell they enjoy working there, which makes the food that much better. I'll admit the outdoor experience can be bothersome but hey dodging flying creatures comes with eating outside. I will certainly be back for seconds..... or thirds. read more

Messy's Tacos was a great find. I have been 3-4 times now and the food has been consistently amazing and the service is second to none. Omg! I got the quesadilla combo (with carne Asada). So delicious! Also got the churro ice cream (I was so full, but it was so worth it)! Love the local feel of the place. Lots of flies flying around when I went, but I'd suppose it's hard to keep them away with outdoor eating! Service was good as well. Will definitely come back! read more

I've tried this place 4 or 5 times now. Really enjoyed the flavors and their chips are the bomb. My issue is that we always modify our order and they have yet to get it right, mostly missing the guacamole after we pay extra for it. Even the sour cream that comes standard in the burrito is lumped into one spot only. read more

Honestly don't know what they hype is about here? Tried based on Yelp reviews. No one before us-took awhile for our small order. Rice was cold and hard. Tortillas cold and hard-nothing like you would expect from any taco truck or similar. The tacos were a good size-chintzy on the onions and cilantro-the only good thing was the salsa. The chips everyone raves about-way too much seasoning of whatever they pour on it. And over priced for what they offer. Would I go back? absolutely not. Way too many other better priced and better taco joints in town. read more

Got there just before 7pm closing tonight but the staff was friendly and very helpful assisting a first-timer. I got the pork belly taco on a flour tortilla. It was topped with cabbage, guac and was moist and flavorful. I'll be back and can't wait to try their breakfast menu. read more

Great food and fun atmosphere! The outside area is a great space. We got the tacos and the fixings were perfect. The kids had the nachos which were a bit different for them. I believe they are covered in chili powder. So they ate some of our tacos and we ate their nachos! Its a great place to swing by before work and get a breakfast burrito. read more

I have been passing by Messy's Tacos for a year now and finally decided to stop by for a late lunch. I was greeted by hello followed by did you buy your shirt from a gift shop? No sir I did not it is my work shirt. After ordering my beer he then told me how old my Id photo was and how I haven't taken a new one in a long time. I was not offended but thinking what is up with this guy. Although the chicken taco was ok the bill was $18 for two tacos chips and salsa and a warm beer. Way over priced in the Bay Area and LA tacos are $1.25, Messy's are $3. All in all I won't be eating there again read more

I eat here about once a week unless I'm on vacation as Messy's is near my work. It is extremely good food no matter what you get. The customer service is excellent, they know me by name. I pretty much recommend this place to anyone who asks where they can get good tacos/burritos/nachos. read more

A little taco shack off Taylor Rd. They have "good" tacos but pricey at $3.50-$4 each. Would like to see a 3 taco plate for a reduced price to compete with other places. There is only outdoor seating available under aluminum awning. Worth a stop for a quick bite to eat. read more

Great spot in Loomis, we had the veggie, pork and steak tacos, and the kids burrito, which is huge. Everything was freshly prepared and the combos came with rice, beans, chips and a drink. Call ahead to avoid the lunchtime rush! read more

Customer Service: I went there at 5:30 PM. There was 1 customer ahead of me and 2 behind me. All 3 had big orders. I ordered a burrito. I asked one of the ladies behind me if she called ahead to order, but she didn't. The girl that took my order told me 3 time she was sorry it is taking so long, but she wants to make sure they get their order correct (maybe you should make sure you get your current order correct first. More on that later.). They all got there food before me. I was there for 20 minutes for a burrito. Quality: I ordered a carne asada burrito with salsa and added sour cream for $1. 20 minutes later, I got a rice burrito. No salsa no $1 sour cream I finally found 3 pieces of meat and a couple beans at the bottom. Conclusion: If I knew it would take this long and be this bad, I would have gone to Taco Bell. I gave Taco Bell a 3 star. read more

Established in 2017.

We are a family owned & operated business who opened in August 2017 as Messy’s Tacos & Treats restaurant in Loomis, CA. Summer of 2022, we decided to completely switch to Messy's Tacos Food Truck and focus on Private Events & Food Truck Pop-Ups. This also allowed us to be creative with our weekly menus.

Meet the Business Owner: Jamey H.

My husband and I started this concept together and wanted to create fusion specialty tacos and not be your typical taco truck. Going on 6 years I think we had the right idea and appreciate all the support from the community. Some of our most popular tacos are our Pork Belly, Korean Beef, Chicken Mango and Carne Asada. We hope you enjoy our style of cooking!

By the end of the tasting, we got more steps in than a cattle drive. The two ladies working behind the counter looked like they were counting the minutes until closing time. No smiles. No energy. No effort to educate us about the wines, engage with guests, or make anyone feel welcome. We honestly felt more like an inconvenience than paying customers. I've seen friendlier expressions on bulls during branding season. What makes this especially frustrating is that the tasting room wasn't even busy -- there were maybe three other couples there besides our group. This wasn't staff being overwhelmed. It simply came across as lazy, disengaged, and rude service. The only thing flowing less than the hospitality was the wine pours. What surprised us most is that we've visited several other local wineries in the area over the years and have consistently experienced warm hospitality, friendliness, and genuine customer care. So this experience really stood out -- and not in a good way. Usually wine country feels welcoming. Here, we felt like a herd that wandered into the wrong pasture. Such a shame because the location and concept have so much potential, and we really wanted to support a local winery so close to home. Sadly, our guests left just as disappointed as we did. Second time I have bought a 15 dollar burrito from here. For the second time the burrito was 60% rice, 30% beans and 10% meat. I asked for salsa and got two one once containers one green and one red both tasted like salted vinegar with no flavor. read more
